^[34:12] και προς σεδεκιαν βασιλεα ιουδα ελαλησα κατα παντας τους λογους τουτους λεγων εισαγαγετε τον τραχηλον υμων

Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, ‘You shall not serve the king of Babylon;’ for they prophesy a lie to you.

Therefore hearken H8085 (QalImpf) not unto the words H1697 of the prophets H5030 that speak H559 (QalActPtc) unto you, saying, H559 (QalInf) Ye shall not serve H5647 (QalImpf) the king H4428 of Babylon: H894 for they prophesy H5012 (NiphPtc) a lie H8267 unto you.

^[34:14] και εργασασθε τω βασιλει βαβυλωνος οτι αδικα αυτοι προφητευουσιν υμιν

Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Yahweh says, “Don’t listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, ‘Behold, the vessels of Yahweh’s house will now shortly be brought again from Babylon;’ for they prophesy a lie to you.

For Yahweh of Armies says concerning the pillars, concerning the sea, concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city,

yes, Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says concerning the vessels that are left in Yahweh’s house, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:

That same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in Yahweh’s house, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in Yahweh’s house,

even the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May Yahweh do so. May Yahweh perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of Yahweh’s house, and all those who are captives, from Babylon to this place.

^[35:6] και ειπεν ιερεμιας αληθως ουτω ποιησαι κυριος στησαι τον λογον σου ον συ προφητευεις του επιστρεψαι τα σκευη οικου κυριου και πασαν την αποικιαν εκ βαβυλωνος εις τον τοπον τουτον

Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Yahweh says: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from off the neck of all the nations within two full years.’ ” Then the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

^[35:11] και ειπεν ανανιας κατ οφθαλμους παντος του λαου λεγων ουτως ειπεν κυριος ουτως συντριψω τον ζυγον βασιλεως βαβυλωνος απο τραχηλων παντων των εθνων και ωχετο ιερεμιας εις την οδον αυτου

Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

“Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘Yahweh says, “You have broken the bars of wood, but you have made in their place bars of iron.”

^[35:13] βαδιζε και ειπον προς ανανιαν λεγων ουτως ειπεν κυριος κλοιους ξυλινους συνετριψας και ποιησω αντ αυτων κλοιους σιδηρους

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him. I have also given him the animals of the field.” ’ ”

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel; H3478 I have put H5414 (QalPerf) a yoke H5923 of iron H1270 upon the neck H6677 of all these nations, H1471 that they may serve H5647 (QalInf) Nebuchadnezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon; H894 and they shall serve H5647 (QalPerf) him: and I have given H5414 (QalPerf) him the beasts H2416 of the field H7704 also.

^[35:14] οτι ουτως ειπεν κυριος ζυγον σιδηρουν εθηκα επι τον τραχηλον παντων των εθνων εργαζεσθαι τω βασιλει βαβυλωνος

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! Yahweh has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.

^[35:15] και ειπεν ιερεμιας τω ανανια ουκ απεσταλκεν σε κυριος και πεποιθεναι εποιησας τον λαον τουτον επ αδικω

Therefore Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth. This year you will die, because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh.’ ”

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Behold, I will cast H7971 (PielPtc) thee from off the face H6440 of the earth: H127 this year H8141 thou shalt die, H4191 (QalPtc) because thou hast taught H1696 (PielPerf) rebellion^§ H5627 against the Lord. H3068

Jeremiah 28:16 Heb. revolt

^[35:16] δια τουτο ουτως ειπεν κυριος ιδου εγω εξαποστελλω σε απο προσωπου της γης τουτω τω ενιαυτω αποθανη

by the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon). It said:

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives whom I have caused to be carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon:

^[36:4] ουτως ειπεν κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ επι την αποικιαν ην απωκισα απο ιερουσαλημ

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Don’t let your prophets who are among you and your diviners deceive you. Don’t listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel; H3478 Let not your prophets H5030 and your diviners, H7080 (QalActPtc) that be in the midst H7130 of you, deceive H5377 (HiphImpf) you, neither hearken H8085 (QalImpf) to your dreams H2472 which ye cause to be dreamed. ^[36:8] οτι ουτως ειπεν κυριος μη αναπειθετωσαν υμας οι ψευδοπροφηται οι εν υμιν και μη αναπειθετωσαν υμας οι μαντεις υμων και μη ακουετε εις τα ενυπνια υμων α υμεις ενυπνιαζεσθε

For Yahweh says, “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon, I will visit you and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 That after H6310 seventy H7657 years H8141 be accomplished H4390 (QalInf) at Babylon H894 I will visit H6485 (QalImpf) you, and perform H6965 (HiphPerf) my good H2896 word H1697 toward you, in causing you to return H7725 (HiphInf) to this place. H4725

^[36:10] οτι ουτως ειπεν κυριος οταν μελλη πληρουσθαι βαβυλωνι εβδομηκοντα ετη επισκεψομαι υμας και επιστησω τους λογους μου εφ υμας του τον λαον υμων αποστρεψαι εις τον τοπον τουτον

Because you have said, “Yahweh has raised us up prophets in Babylon,”

Because ye have said, H559 (QalPerf) The Lord H3068 hath raised us up H6965 (HiphPerf) prophets H5030 in Babylon; H894

^[36:15] οτι ειπατε κατεστησεν ημιν κυριος προφητας εν βαβυλωνι

Yahweh says concerning the king who sits on David’s throne, and concerning all the people who dwell in this city, your brothers who haven’t gone with you into captivity,

know that thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of the king H4428 that sitteth H3427 (QalActPtc) upon the throne H3678 of David, H1732 and of all the people H5971 that dwelleth H3427 (QalActPtc) in this city, H5892 and of your brethren H251 that are not gone forth H3318 (QalPerf) with you into captivity; H1473

Yahweh of Armies says: “Behold, I will send on them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like rotten figs that can’t be eaten, they are so bad.

thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 Behold, I will send H7971 (PielPtc) upon them the sword, H2719 the famine, H7458 and the pestilence, H1698 and will make H5414 (QalPerf) them like vile H8182 figs, H8384 that cannot be eaten, H398 (NiphImpf) they are so evil. H7455

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: “Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he will kill them before your eyes.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel, H3478 of Ahab H256 the son H1121 of Kolaiah, H6964 and of Zedekiah H6667 the son H1121 of Maaseiah, H4641 which prophesy H5012 (NiphPtc) a lie H8267 unto you in my name; H8034 Behold, I will deliver H5414 (QalActPtc) them into the hand H3027 of Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon; H894 and he shall slay H5221 (HiphPerf) them before your eyes; H5869

^[36:21] ουτως ειπεν κυριος επι αχιαβ και επι σεδεκιαν ιδου εγω διδωμι αυτους εις χειρας βασιλεως βαβυλωνος και παταξει αυτους κατ οφθαλμους υμων

A curse will be taken up about them by all the captives of Judah who are in Babylon, saying, ‘Yahweh make you like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;’

and of them shall be taken up H3947 (PualPerf) a curse H7045 by all the captivity H1546 of Judah H3063 which are in Babylon, H894 saying, H559 (QalInf) The Lord H3068 make H7760 (QalImpf) thee like Zedekiah H6667 and like Ahab, H256 whom the king H4428 of Babylon H894 roasted H7033 (QalPerf) in the fire; H784

Concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite you shall speak, saying,

“Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘Because you have sent letters in your own name to all the people who are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

^[36:25] ουκ απεστειλα σε τω ονοματι μου και προς σοφονιαν υιον μαασαιου τον ιερεα ειπε

because he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, The captivity is long. Build houses, and dwell in them. Plant gardens, and eat their fruit?” ’ ”

For therefore he sent H7971 (QalPerf) unto us in Babylon, H894 saying, H559 (QalInf) This H1931 captivity is long: H752 build H1129 (QalImpv) ye houses, H1004 and dwell H3427 (QalImpv) in them; and plant H5193 (QalImpv) gardens, H1593 and eat H398 (QalImpv) the fruit H6529 of them.

^[36:28] ου δια τουτο απεστειλεν προς υμας εις βαβυλωνα λεγων μακραν εστιν οικοδομησατε οικιας και κατοικησατε και φυτευσατε κηπους και φαγεσθε τον καρπον αυτων

Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,

Then came the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 unto Jeremiah, H3414 saying, H559 (QalInf)

^[36:30] και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς ιερεμιαν λεγων

“Send to all of the captives, saying, ‘Yahweh says concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: “Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, and I didn’t send him, and he has caused you to trust in a lie,”

Send H7971 (QalImpv) to all them of the captivity, H1473 saying, H559 (QalInf) Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 concerning Shemaiah H8098 the Nehelamite; H5161 Because that Shemaiah H8098 hath prophesied H5012 (NiphPerf) unto you, and I sent H7971 (QalPerf) him not, and he caused you to trust H982 (HiphImpf) in a lie: H8267

^[36:31] αποστειλον προς την αποικιαν λεγων ουτως ειπεν κυριος επι σαμαιαν τον νελαμιτην επειδη επροφητευσεν υμιν σαμαιας και εγω ουκ απεστειλα αυτον και πεποιθεναι εποιησεν υμας επ αδικοις

therefore Yahweh says, “Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his offspring. He will not have a man to dwell among this people. He won’t see the good that I will do to my people,” says Yahweh, “because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh.” ’ ”

therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Behold, I will punish H6485 (QalActPtc) Shemaiah H8098 the Nehelamite, H5161 and his seed: H2233 he shall not have a man H376 to dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) among H8432 this people; H5971 neither shall he behold H7200 (QalImpf) the good H2896 that I will do H6213 (QalActPtc) for my people, H5971 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord; H3068 because he hath taught H1696 (PielPerf) rebellion^§ H5627 against the Lord. Jeremiah 29:32 Heb. revolt

^[36:32] δια τουτο ουτως ειπεν κυριος ιδου εγω επισκεψομαι επι σαμαιαν και επι το γενος αυτου και ουκ εσται αυτων ανθρωπος εν μεσω υμων του ιδειν τα αγαθα α εγω ποιησω υμιν ουκ οψονται

The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

^[37:1] ο λογος ο γενομενος προς ιερεμιαν παρα κυριου ειπειν

“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.

Thus speaketh H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel, H3478 saying, H559 (QalInf) Write H3789 (QalImpv) thee all the words H1697 that I have spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto thee in a book. H5612

^[37:2] ουτως ειπεν κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ λεγων γραψον παντας τους λογους ους εχρηματισα προς σε επι βιβλιου

For, behold, the days come,’ says Yahweh, ‘that I will reverse the captivity of my people Israel and Judah,’ says Yahweh. ‘I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they will possess it.’ ”

For, lo, the days H3117 come, H935 (QalActPtc) saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 that I will bring again H7725 (QalPerf) the captivity H7622 of my people H5971 Israel H3478 and Judah, H3063 saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord: H3068 and I will cause them to return H7725 (HiphPerf) to the land H776 that I gave H5414 (QalPerf) to their fathers, H1 and they shall possess H3423 (QalPerf) it.

^[37:3] οτι ιδου ημεραι ερχονται φησιν κυριος και αποστρεψω την αποικιαν λαου μου ισραηλ και ιουδα ειπεν κυριος και αποστρεψω αυτους εις την γην ην εδωκα τοις πατρασιν αυτων και κυριευσουσιν αυτης

For Yahweh says: “We have heard a voice of trembling; a voice of fear, and not of peace.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 We have heard H8085 (QalPerf) a voice H6963 of trembling, H2731 of fear, H6343 and not of peace.^§ H7965

Jeremiah 30:5 Or, there is fear, and not peace

^[37:5] ουτως ειπεν κυριος φωνην φοβου ακουσεσθε φοβος και ουκ εστιν ειρηνη

For Yahweh says, “Your hurt is incurable. Your wound is grievous.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 Thy bruise H7667 is incurable, H605 (QalPasPtc) and thy wound H4347 is grievous. H2470 (NiphPtc)

^[37:12] ουτως ειπεν κυριος ανεστησα συντριμμα αλγηρα η πληγη σου

Yahweh says: “Behold, I will reverse the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling places. The city will be built on its own hill, and the palace will be inhabited in its own place.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Behold, I will bring again H7725 (QalActPtc) the captivity H7622 of Jacob’s H3290 tents, H168 and have mercy H7355 (PielImpf) on his dwellingplaces; H4908 and the city H5892 shall be builded H1129 (NiphPerf) upon her own heap,^§ H8510 and the palace H759 shall remain H3427 (QalImpf) after the manner H4941 thereof.

Jeremiah 30:18 Or, little hill

^[37:18] ουτως ειπεν κυριος ιδου εγω αποστρεψω την αποικιαν ιακωβ και αιχμαλωσιαν αυτου ελεησω και οικοδομηθησεται πολις επι το υψος αυτης και ο ναος κατα το κριμα αυτου καθεδειται

Yahweh says, “The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”
