Then Eli answered, “Go in peace; and may the God^§ of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of him.”

Then Eli H5941 answered H6030 (QalImpf) and said, H559 (QalImpf) Go H3212 (QalImpv) in peace: H7965 and the God H430 of Israel H3478 grant H5414 (QalImpf) [thee] thy petition H7596 that thou hast asked H7592 (QalPerf) of him.

και απεκριθη ηλι και ειπεν αυτη πορευου εις ειρηνην ο θεος ισραηλ δωη σοι παν αιτημα σου ο ητησω παρ αυτου

I prayed for this child, and Yahweh has given me my petition which I asked of him.

For this child H5288 I prayed; H6419 (HithPerf) and the Lord H3068 hath given H5414 (QalImpf) me my petition H7596 which I asked H7592 (QalPerf) of him:

υπερ του παιδαριου τουτου προσηυξαμην και εδωκεν μοι κυριος το αιτημα μου ο ητησαμην παρ αυτου

Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, “May Yahweh give you offspring^§ from this woman for the petition which was asked of Yahweh.” Then they went to their own home.

και ευλογησεν ηλι τον ελκανα και την γυναικα αυτου λεγων αποτεισαι σοι κυριος σπερμα εκ της γυναικος ταυτης αντι του χρεους ου εχρησας τω κυριω και απηλθεν ο ανθρωπος εις τον τοπον αυτου

και νυν αιτησιν μιαν εγω αιτουμαι παρα σου μη αποστρεψης το προσωπον σου και ειπεν αυτω βηρσαβεε λαλει

Then she said, “I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me.” The king said to her, “Ask on, my mother, for I will not deny you.”

και ειπεν αυτω αιτησιν μιαν μικραν εγω αιτουμαι παρα σου μη αποστρεψης το προσωπον σου και ειπεν αυτη ο βασιλευς αιτησαι μητερ εμη οτι ουκ αποστρεψω σε

The king said to Esther at the banquet of wine, “What is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.”

And the king H4428 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Esther H635 at the banquet H4960 of wine, H3196 What [is] thy petition? H7596 and it shall be granted H5414 (NiphImpf) thee: and what [is] thy request? H1246 even to the half H2677 of the kingdom H4438 it shall be performed. H6213 (NiphImpf)

εν δε τω ποτω ειπεν ο βασιλευς προς εσθηρ τι εστιν βασιλισσα εσθηρ και εσται σοι οσα αξιοις

Then Esther answered and said, “My petition and my request is this.

Then answered H6030 (QalImpf) Esther, H635 and said, H559 (QalImpf) My petition H7596 and my request H1246 [is];

και ειπεν το αιτημα μου και το αξιωμα μου

If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I will prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has said.”

If I have found H4672 (QalPerf) favour H2580 in the sight H5869 of the king, H4428 and if it please H2895 (QalPerf) the king H4428 to grant H5414 (QalInf) my petition, H7596 and to perform H6213 (QalInf) my request, H1246 let the king H4428 and Haman H2001 come H935 (QalImpf) to the banquet H4960 that I shall prepare H6213 (QalImpf) for them, and I will do H6213 (QalImpf) to morrow H4279 as the king H4428 hath said. H1697

ει ευρον χαριν ενωπιον του βασιλεως ελθατω ο βασιλευς και αμαν επι την αυριον εις την δοχην ην ποιησω αυτοις και αυριον ποιησω τα αυτα

The king said again to Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, “What is your petition, queen Esther? It shall be granted you. What is your request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.”

And the king H4428 said H559 (QalImpf) again unto Esther H635 on the second H8145 day H3117 at the banquet H4960 of wine, H3196 What [is] thy petition, H7596 queen H4436 Esther? H635 and it shall be granted H5414 (NiphImpf) thee: and what [is] thy request? H1246 and it shall be performed, H6213 (NiphImpf) [even] to the half H2677 of the kingdom. H4438

ειπεν δε ο βασιλευς εσθηρ τη δευτερα ημερα εν τω ποτω τι εστιν εσθηρ βασιλισσα και τι το αιτημα σου και τι το αξιωμα σου και εστω σοι εως του ημισους της βασιλειας μου

Then Esther the queen answered, “If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.

Then Esther H635 the queen H4436 answered H6030 (QalImpf) and said, H559 (QalImpf) If I have found H4672 (QalPerf) favour H2580 in thy sight, H5869 O king, H4428 and if it please H2895 (QalPerf) the king, H4428 let my life H5315 be given H5414 (NiphImpf) me at my petition, H7596 and my people H5971 at my request: H1246

και αποκριθεισα ειπεν ει ευρον χαριν ενωπιον του βασιλεως δοθητω η ψυχη μου τω αιτηματι μου και ο λαος μου τω αξιωματι μου

The king said to Esther the queen, “The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in the citadel of Susa, including the ten sons of Haman; what then have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces! Now what is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your further request? It shall be done.”

And the king H4428 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Esther H635 the queen, H4436 The Jews H3064 have slain H2026 (QalPerf) and destroyed H6 (PielInf) five H2568 hundred H3967 men H376 in Shushan H7800 the palace, H1002 and the ten H6235 sons H1121 of Haman; H2001 what have they done H6213 (QalPerf) in the rest H7605 of the king’s H4428 provinces? H4082 now what [is] thy petition? H7596 and it shall be granted H5414 (NiphImpf) thee: or what [is] thy request H1246 further? H5750 and it shall be done. H6213 (NiphImpf)

ειπεν δε ο βασιλευς προς εσθηρ απωλεσαν οι ιουδαιοι εν σουσοις τη πολει ανδρας πεντακοσιους εν δε τη περιχωρω πως οιει εχρησαντο τι ουν αξιοις ετι και εσται σοι

“Oh that I might have my request, that God would grant the thing that I long for,

Oh that I might have H935 (QalImpf) my request; H7596 and that God H433 would grant H5414 (QalImpf) [me] the thing that I long for! H8615

ει γαρ δωη και ελθοι μου η αιτησις και την ελπιδα μου δωη ο κυριος

He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

And he gave H5414 (QalImpf) them their request; H7596 but sent H7971 (PielImpf) leanness H7332 into their soul. H5315
