[1]
Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob!
[2] Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine,
the pleasant lyre with the harp.
[3] Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,
at the full moon, on our feast day.
[4] For it is a statute for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
[5] He appointed it in Joseph for a covenant,
when he went out over the land of Egypt,
I heard a language that I didn’t know.
[6] “I removed his shoulder from the burden.
His hands were freed from the basket.
[7] You called in trouble, and I delivered you.
I answered you in the secret place of thunder.
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.”
Selah. [8] “Hear, my people, and I will testify to you,
Israel, if you would listen to me!
[9] There shall be no strange god in you,
neither shall you worship any foreign god.
[10] I am Yahweh, your God,
who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
[11] But my people didn’t listen to my voice.
Israel desired none of me.
[12] So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,
that they might walk in their own counsels.
[13] Oh that my people would listen to me,
that Israel would walk in my ways!
[14] I would soon subdue their enemies,
and turn my hand against their adversaries.
[15] The haters of Yahweh would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
[16] But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.
I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.”
For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. By Asaph.

Sing aloudH7442(HiphImpv) unto GodH430 our strength:H5797 make a joyful noiseH7321(HiphImpv) unto the GodH430 of Jacob.H3290 [2] TakeH5375(QalImpv) a psalm,H2172 and bringH5414(QalImpv) hither the timbrel,H8596 the pleasantH5273 harpH3658 with the psaltery.H5035 [3] Blow upH8628(QalImpv) the trumpetH7782 in the new moon,H2320 in the time appointed,H3677 on our solemn feastH2282 day.H3117 [4] For this [was] a statuteH2706 for Israel,H3478 [and] a lawH4941 of the GodH430 of Jacob.H3290 [5] This he ordainedH7760(QalPerf) in JosephH3084 [for] a testimony,H5715 when he went outH3318(QalInf) through the landH776 of Egypt:H4714 [where] I heardH8085(QalImpf) a languageH8193 [that] I understoodH3045(QalPerf) not. [6] I removedH5493(HiphPerf) his shoulderH7926 from the burden:H5447 his handsH3709 were deliveredH5674(QalImpf) from the pots.H1731 [7] Thou calledstH7121(QalPerf) in trouble,H6869 and I deliveredH2502(PielImpf) thee; I answeredH6030(QalImpf) thee in the secret placeH5643 of thunder:H7482 I provedH974(QalImpf) thee at the watersH4325 of Meribah.H4809 Selah.H5542 [8] Hear,H8085(QalImpv) O my people,H5971 and I will testifyH5749(HiphImpf) unto thee: O Israel,H3478 if thou wilt hearkenH8085(QalImpf) unto me; [9] There shall no strangeH2114(QalPtc) godH410 be in thee; neither shalt thou worshipH7812(HithImpf) any strangeH5236 god.H410 [10] I [am] the LordH3068 thy God,H430 which broughtH5927(HiphPtc) thee out of the landH776 of Egypt:H4714 open thy mouthH6310 wide,H7337(HiphImpv) and I will fillH4390(PielImpf) it. [11] But my peopleH5971 would not hearkenH8085(QalPerf) to my voice;H6963 and IsraelH3478 wouldH14(QalPerf) none of me. [12] So I gave them upH7971(PielImpf) unto their own hearts’H3820 lust:H8307 [and] they walkedH3212(QalImpf) in their own counsels.H4156 [13] OhH3863 that my peopleH5971 had hearkenedH8085(QalActPtc) unto me, [and] IsraelH3478 had walkedH1980(PielImpf) in my ways!H1870 [14] I should soonH4592 have subduedH3665(HiphImpf) their enemies,H341(QalActPtc) and turnedH7725(HiphImpf) my handH3027 against their adversaries.H6862 [15] The hatersH8130(PielPtc) of the LordH3068 should have submittedH3584(PielImpf) themselves unto him: but their timeH6256 should have endured for ever.H5769 [16] He should have fedH398(HiphImpf) them also with the finestH2459 of the wheat:H2406 and with honeyH1706 out of the rockH6697 should I have satisfiedH7646(HiphImpf) thee.Byzantine Greek New Testament
