He shall remove all its fat, like the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire. The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

“‘Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be guilty.

η αψηται απο ακαθαρσιας ανθρωπου απο πασης ακαθαρσιας αυτου ης αν αψαμενος μιανθη και ελαθεν αυτον μετα τουτο δε γνω και πλημμεληση

“‘Or if anyone swears rashly with his lips to do evil or to do good—whatever it is that a man might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him—when he knows of it, then he will be guilty of one of these.

η ψυχη η αν ομοση διαστελλουσα τοις χειλεσιν κακοποιησαι η καλως ποιησαι κατα παντα οσα εαν διαστειλη ο ανθρωπος μεθ ορκου και λαθη αυτον προ οφθαλμων και ουτος γνω και αμαρτη εν τι τουτων

“If anyone sins, doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, though he didn’t know it, he is still guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

And if a soul H5315 sin, H2398 (QalImpf) and commit H6213 (QalPerf) any H259 of these things which are forbidden to be done H6213 (NiphImpf) by the commandments H4687 of the Lord; H3068 though he wist H3045 (QalPerf) it not, yet is he guilty, H816 (QalPerf) and shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) his iniquity. or any thing about which he has sworn falsely: he shall restore it in full, and shall add a fifth part more to it. He shall return it to him to whom it belongs in the day of his being found guilty.

Leviticus 6:9 Or, for the burning

He shall take from there his handful of the fine flour of the meal offering, and of its oil, and all the frankincense which is on the meal offering, and shall burn it on the altar for a pleasant aroma, as its memorial portion, to Yahweh.

Every meal offering of a priest shall be wholly burned. It shall not be eaten.”

Whatever shall touch its flesh shall be holy. When there is any of its blood sprinkled on a garment, you shall wash that on which it was sprinkled in a holy place.

No sin offering, of which any of the blood is brought into the Tent of Meeting to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be eaten. It shall be burned with fire.

Every meal offering that is baked in the oven, and all that is prepared in the pan and on the griddle, shall be the priest’s who offers it.

Leviticus 7:9 Or, on the flat plate, or, slice

και πασα θυσια ητις ποιηθησεται εν τω κλιβανω και πασα ητις ποιηθησεται επ εσχαρας η επι τηγανου του ιερεως του προσφεροντος αυτην αυτω εσται

Every meal offering, mixed with oil or dry, belongs to all the sons of Aaron, one as well as another.

“‘The meat that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten. It shall be burned with fire. As for the meat, everyone who is clean may eat it;

Moreover the soul H5315 that shall touch H5060 (QalImpf) any unclean H2932 thing, as the uncleanness H2932 of man, H120 or any unclean H2931 beast, H929 or any abominable H8263 unclean H2931 thing, and eat H398 (QalPerf) of the flesh H1320 of the sacrifice H2077 of peace offerings, H8002 which pertain unto the Lord, H3068 even that soul H5315 shall be cut off H3772 (NiphPerf) from his people. “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘You shall eat no fat, of bull, or sheep, or goat.

The fat of that which dies of itself, and the fat of that which is torn of animals, may be used for any other service, but you shall in no way eat of it.

και στεαρ θνησιμαιων και θηριαλωτον ποιηθησεται εις παν εργον και εις βρωσιν ου βρωθησεται

For whoever eats the fat of the animal which men offer as an offering made by fire to Yahweh, even the soul who eats it shall be cut off from his people.

Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them.

And Moses H4872 took H3947 (QalImpf) the anointing H4888 oil, H8081 and anointed H4886 (QalImpf) the tabernacle H4908 and all that was therein, and sanctified H6942 (PielImpf) them.

He sprinkled it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the basin and its base, to sanctify them.

He washed the innards and the legs with water; and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a pleasant aroma. It was an offering made by fire to Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

He took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat that was on the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys and their fat, and the right thigh;

He put all these in Aaron’s hands and in his sons’ hands, and waved them for a wave offering before Yahweh.

Aaron and his sons did all the things which Yahweh commanded by Moses.

They brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting. All the congregation came near and stood before Yahweh.

Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out, and blessed the people; and Yahweh’s glory appeared to all the people.

και εισηλθεν μωυσης και ααρων εις την σκηνην του μαρτυριου και εξελθοντες ευλογησαν παντα τον λαον και ωφθη η δοξα κυριου παντι τω λαω

Fire came out from before Yahweh, and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

και εξηλθεν πυρ παρα κυριου και κατεφαγεν τα επι του θυσιαστηριου τα τε ολοκαυτωματα και τα στεατα και ειδεν πας ο λαος και εξεστη και επεσαν επι προσωπον

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what Yahweh spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace.

και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων τουτο εστιν ο ειπεν κυριος λεγων εν τοις εγγιζουσιν μοι αγιασθησομαι και εν παση τη συναγωγη δοξασθησομαι και κατενυχθη ααρων

Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons, “Don’t let the hair of your heads go loose, and don’t tear your clothes, so that you don’t die, and so that he will not be angry with all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Yahweh has kindled.

και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων και ελεαζαρ και ιθαμαρ τους υιους αυτου τους καταλελειμμενους την κεφαλην υμων ουκ αποκιδαρωσετε και τα ιματια υμων ου διαρρηξετε ινα μη αποθανητε και επι πασαν την συναγωγην εσται θυμος οι αδελφοι υμων πας ο οικος ισραηλ κλαυσονται τον εμπυρισμον ον ενεπυρισθησαν υπο κυριου

You are to teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Yahweh has spoken to them by Moses.”

και συμβιβασεις τους υιους ισραηλ παντα τα νομιμα α ελαλησεν κυριος προς αυτους δια χειρος μωυση

“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.

λαλησατε τοις υιοις ισραηλ λεγοντες ταυτα τα κτηνη α φαγεσθε απο παντων των κτηνων των επι της γης

Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat.

Whatsoever parteth H6536 (HiphPtc) the hoof, H6541 and is clovenfooted, H8156 (QalActPtc) H8157 and cheweth H5927 (HiphPtc) the cud, H1625 among the beasts, H929 that shall ye eat. H398 (QalImpf)

παν κτηνος διχηλουν οπλην και ονυχιστηρας ονυχιζον δυο χηλων και αναγον μηρυκισμον εν τοις κτηνεσιν ταυτα φαγεσθε

“‘You may eat of all these that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.

These shall ye eat H398 (QalImpf) of all that are in the waters: H4325 whatsoever hath fins H5579 and scales H7193 in the waters, H4325 in the seas, H3220 and in the rivers, H5158 them shall ye eat. H398 (QalImpf)

και ταυτα α φαγεσθε απο παντων των εν τοις υδασιν παντα οσα εστιν αυτοις πτερυγια και λεπιδες εν τοις υδασιν και εν ταις θαλασσαις και εν τοις χειμαρροις ταυτα φαγεσθε

All that don’t have fins and scales in the seas and rivers, all that move in the waters, and all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,

And all that have not fins H5579 and scales H7193 in the seas, H3220 and in the rivers, H5158 of all that move H8318 in the waters, H4325 and of any living H2416 thing H5315 which is in the waters, H4325 they shall be an abomination H8263 unto you:

και παντα οσα ουκ εστιν αυτοις πτερυγια ουδε λεπιδες εν τω υδατι η εν ταις θαλασσαις και εν τοις χειμαρροις απο παντων ων ερευγεται τα υδατα και απο πασης ψυχης ζωσης της εν τω υδατι βδελυγμα εστιν

Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters is an abomination to you.

Whatsoever hath no fins H5579 nor scales H7193 in the waters, H4325 that shall be an abomination H8263 unto you.

και παντα οσα ουκ εστιν αυτοις πτερυγια και λεπιδες των εν τω υδατι βδελυγμα τουτο εστιν υμιν
