Now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and you, my lord the king, don’t know it.

Nathan said, “My lord, King, have you said, ‘Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne’?

και ειπεν ναθαν κυριε μου βασιλευ συ ειπας αδωνιας βασιλευσει οπισω μου και αυτος καθησεται επι του θρονου μου

most certainly as I swore to you by Yahweh, the God of Israel, saying, ‘Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place;’ I will most certainly do this today.”

even as I sware H7650 (NiphPerf) unto thee by the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel, H3478 saying, H559 (QalInf) Assuredly Solomon H8010 thy son H1121 shall reign H4427 (QalImpf) after H310 me, and he shall sit H3427 (QalImpf) upon my throne H3678 in my stead; even so will I certainly do H6213 (QalImpf) this day. H3117

οτι καθως ωμοσα σοι εν κυριω τω θεω ισραηλ λεγων οτι σαλωμων ο υιος σου βασιλευσει μετ εμε και αυτος καθησεται επι του θρονου μου αντ εμου οτι ουτως ποιησω τη ημερα ταυτη

Then come up after him, and he shall come and sit on my throne; for he shall be king in my place. I have appointed him to be prince over Israel and over Judah.”

Then ye shall come up H5927 (QalPerf) after H310 him, that he may come H935 (QalPerf) and sit H3427 (QalPerf) upon my throne; H3678 for he shall be king H4427 (QalImpf) in my stead: and I have appointed H6680 (PielPerf) him to be ruler H5057 over Israel H3478 and over Judah. H3063

Jonathan answered Adonijah, “Most certainly our lord King David has made Solomon king.

και απεκριθη ιωναθαν και ειπεν και μαλα ο κυριος ημων ο βασιλευς δαυιδ εβασιλευσεν τον σαλωμων

The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

και αι ημεραι ας εβασιλευσεν δαυιδ επι τον ισραηλ τεσσαρακοντα ετη εν χεβρων εβασιλευσεν ετη επτα και εν ιερουσαλημ τριακοντα τρια ετη

He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from Yahweh.

και ειπεν αυτη συ οιδας οτι εμοι ην η βασιλεια και επ εμε εθετο πας ισραηλ το προσωπον αυτου εις βασιλεα και εστραφη η βασιλεια και εγενηθη τω αδελφω μου οτι παρα κυριου εγενετο αυτω

Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am just a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.

In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build Yahweh’s house.

I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.

The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king.

But as for the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

When all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the congregation, and made him king over all Israel. There was no one who followed David’s house, except for the tribe of Judah only.

The days which Jeroboam reigned were twenty two years; then he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.

Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.

και ηλα υιος βαασα εβασιλευσεν επι ισραηλ δυο ετη εν θερσα

and Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.

And Zimri H2174 went in H935 (QalImpf) and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) him, and killed H4191 (HiphImpf) him, in the twenty H6242 and seventh H7651 year H8141 of Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 and reigned H4427 (QalImpf) in his stead.

When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall^§ among his relatives or his friends.

Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.
