1 Kings 15 (WEBP)
[1] Now in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam began to reign over Judah.
[2] He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.
[3] He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father.
[4] Nevertheless for David’s sake, Yahweh his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem;
[5] because David did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and didn’t turn away from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
[6] Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
[7] The rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
[8] Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Asa his son reigned in his place.
[9] In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah.
[10] He reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.
[11] Asa did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, as David his father did.
[12] He put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
[13] He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah. Asa cut down her image and burned it at the brook Kidron.
[14] But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Yahweh all his days.
[15] He brought into Yahweh’s house the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that he himself had dedicated: silver, gold, and utensils.
[16] There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
[17] Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
[18] Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered it into the hand of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
[19] “Let there be a treaty between me and you, like that between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”
[20] Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Beth Maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
[21] When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and lived in Tirzah.
[22] Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah. No one was exempted. They carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and King Asa used it to build Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
[23] Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
[24] Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.
[25] Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
[26] He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
[27] Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.
[28] Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha killed him and reigned in his place.
[29] As soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam. He didn’t leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him, according to the saying of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite;
[30] for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger.
[31] Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
[32] There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
[33] In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah for twenty-four years.
[34] He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.

1 Kings 15 (KJVS)
[1] Now in the eighteenth H8083 H6240 year H8141 of king H4428 Jeroboam H3379 the son H1121 of Nebat H5028 reigned H4427 (8804) Abijam H38 over Judah H3063.
[2] Three H7969 years H8141 reigned H4427 (8804) he in Jerusalem H3389. And his mother’s H517 name H8034 [was] Maachah H4601, the daughter H1323 of Abishalom H53.
[3] And he walked H3212 (8799) in all the sins H2403 of his father H1, which he had done H6213 (8804) before H6440 him: and his heart H3824 was not perfect H8003 with the LORD H3068 his God H430, as the heart H3824 of David H1732 his father H1.
[4] Nevertheless for David’s H1732 sake did the LORD H3068 his God H430 give H5414 (8804) him a lamp H5216 in Jerusalem H3389, to set up H6965 (8687) his son H1121 after H310 him, and to establish H5975 (8687) Jerusalem H3389:
[5] Because David H1732 did H6213 (8804) [that which was] right H3477 in the eyes H5869 of the LORD H3068, and turned not aside H5493 (8804) from any [thing] that he commanded H6680 (8765) him all the days H3117 of his life H2416, save only in the matter H1697 of Uriah H223 the Hittite H2850.
[6] And there was war H4421 between Rehoboam H7346 and Jeroboam H3379 all the days H3117 of his life H2416.
[7] Now the rest H3499 of the acts H1697 of Abijam H38, and all that he did H6213 (8804), [are] they not written H3789 (8803) in the book H5612 of the chronicles H1697 H3117 of the kings H4428 of Judah H3063? And there was war H4421 between Abijam H38 and Jeroboam H3379.
[8] And Abijam H38 slept H7901 (8799) with his fathers H1; and they buried H6912 (8799) him in the city H5892 of David H1732: and Asa H609 his son H1121 reigned H4427 (8799) in his stead.
[9] And in the twentieth H6242 year H8141 of Jeroboam H3379 king H4428 of Israel H3478 reigned H4427 (8804) Asa H609 over Judah H3063.
[10] And forty H705 and one H259 years H8141 reigned H4427 (8804) he in Jerusalem H3389. And his mother’s H517 name H8034 [was] Maachah H4601, the daughter H1323 of Abishalom H53.
[11] And Asa H609 did H6213 (8799) [that which was] right H3477 in the eyes H5869 of the LORD H3068, as [did] David H1732 his father H1.
[12] And he took away H5674 (8686) the sodomites H6945 out of the land H776, and removed H5493 (8686) all the idols H1544 that his fathers H1 had made H6213 (8804).
[13] And also Maachah H4601 his mother H517, even her he removed H5493 (8686) from [being] queen H1377, because she had made H6213 (8804) an idol H4656 in a grove H842; and Asa H609 destroyed H3772 (8799) her idol H4656, and burnt H8313 (8799) [it] by the brook H5158 Kidron H6939.
[14] But the high places H1116 were not removed H5493 (8804): nevertheless Asa’s H609 heart H3824 was perfect H8003 with the LORD H3068 all his days H3117.
[15] And he brought H935 (8686) in the things H6944 which his father H1 had dedicated H6944, and the things which himself had dedicated H6944, into the house H1004 of the LORD H3068, silver H3701, and gold H2091, and vessels H3627.
[16] And there was war H4421 between Asa H609 and Baasha H1201 king H4428 of Israel H3478 all their days H3117.
[17] And Baasha H1201 king H4428 of Israel H3478 went up H5927 (8799) against Judah H3063, and built H1129 (8799) Ramah H7414, that he might not suffer H5414 (8800) any to go out H3318 (8802) or come in H935 (8802) to Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah H3063.
[18] Then Asa H609 took H3947 (8799) all the silver H3701 and the gold H2091 [that were] left H3498 (8737) in the treasures H214 of the house H1004 of the LORD H3068, and the treasures H214 of the king’s H4428 house H1004, and delivered H5414 (8799) them into the hand H3027 of his servants H5650: and king H4428 Asa H609 sent H7971 (8799) them to Benhadad H1130, the son H1121 of Tabrimon H2886, the son H1121 of Hezion H2383, king H4428 of Syria H758, that dwelt H3427 (8802) at Damascus H1834, saying H559 (8800),
[19] [There is] a league H1285 between me and thee, [and] between my father H1 and thy father H1: behold, I have sent H7971 (8804) unto thee a present H7810 of silver H3701 and gold H2091; come H3212 (8798) and break H6565 (8685) thy league H1285 with Baasha H1201 king H4428 of Israel H3478, that he may depart H5927 (8799) from me.
[20] So Benhadad H1130 hearkened H8085 (8799) unto king H4428 Asa H609, and sent H7971 (8799) the captains H8269 of the hosts H2428 which he had against the cities H5892 of Israel H3478, and smote H5221 (8686) Ijon H5859, and Dan H1835, and Abelbethmaachah H62, and all Cinneroth H3672, with all the land H776 of Naphtali H5321.
[21] And it came to pass, when Baasha H1201 heard H8085 (8800) [thereof], that he left off H2308 (8799) building H1129 (8800) of Ramah H7414, and dwelt H3427 (8799) in Tirzah H8656.
[22] Then king H4428 Asa H609 made a proclamation H8085 (8689) throughout all Judah H3063; none [was] exempted H5355: and they took H5375 (8799) away the stones H68 of Ramah H7414, and the timber H6086 thereof, wherewith Baasha H1201 had builded H1129 (8804); and king H4428 Asa H609 built H1129 (8799) with them Geba H1387 of Benjamin H1144, and Mizpah H4709.
[23] The rest H3499 of all the acts H1697 of Asa H609, and all his might H1369, and all that he did H6213 (8804), and the cities H5892 which he built H1129 (8804), [are] they not written H3789 (8803) in the book H5612 of the chronicles H1697 H3117 of the kings H4428 of Judah H3063? Nevertheless in the time H6256 of his old age H2209 he was diseased H2470 (8804) in his feet H7272.
[24] And Asa H609 slept H7901 (8799) with his fathers H1, and was buried H6912 (8735) with his fathers H1 in the city H5892 of David H1732 his father H1: and Jehoshaphat H3092 his son H1121 reigned H4427 (8799) in his stead.
[25] And Nadab H5070 the son H1121 of Jeroboam H3379 began to reign H4427 (8804) over Israel H3478 in the second H8147 year H8141 of Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah H3063, and reigned H4427 (8799) over Israel H3478 two H8147 years H8141.
[26] And he did H6213 (8799) evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the LORD H3068, and walked H3212 (8799) in the way H1870 of his father H1, and in his sin H2403 wherewith he made Israel H3478 to sin H2398 (8689).
[27] And Baasha H1201 the son H1121 of Ahijah H281, of the house H1004 of Issachar H3485, conspired H7194 (8799) against him; and Baasha H1201 smote H5221 (8686) him at Gibbethon H1405, which [belonged] to the Philistines H6430; for Nadab H5070 and all Israel H3478 laid siege H6696 (8802) to Gibbethon H1405.
[28] Even in the third H7969 year H8141 of Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah H3063 did Baasha H1201 slay H4191 (8686) him, and reigned H4427 (8799) in his stead.
[29] And it came to pass, when he reigned H4427 (8800), [that] he smote H5221 (8689) all the house H1004 of Jeroboam H3379; he left H7604 (8689) not to Jeroboam H3379 any that breathed H5397, until he had destroyed H8045 (8689) him, according unto the saying H1697 of the LORD H3068, which he spake H1696 (8765) by H3027 his servant H5650 Ahijah H281 the Shilonite H7888:
[30] Because of the sins H2403 of Jeroboam H3379 which he sinned H2398 (8804), and which he made Israel H3478 sin H2398 (8689), by his provocation H3708 wherewith he provoked the LORD H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478 to anger H3707 (8689).
[31] Now the rest H3499 of the acts H1697 of Nadab H5070, and all that he did H6213 (8804), [are] they not written H3789 (8803) in the book H5612 of the chronicles H1697 H3117 of the kings H4428 of Israel H3478?
[32] And there was war H4421 between Asa H609 and Baasha H1201 king H4428 of Israel H3478 all their days H3117.
[33] In the third H7969 year H8141 of Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah H3063 began Baasha H1201 the son H1121 of Ahijah H281 to reign H4427 (8804) over all Israel H3478 in Tirzah H8656, twenty H6242 and four H702 years H8141.
[34] And he did H6213 (8799) evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the LORD H3068, and walked H3212 (8799) in the way H1870 of Jeroboam H3379, and in his sin H2403 wherewith he made Israel H3478 to sin H2398 (8689).
Young’s Literal Translation
1 Kings 15 (YLT)
[1] And in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam son of Nebat, reigned hath Abijam over Judah;
[2] three years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother is Maachah daughter of Abishalom;
[3] and he walketh in all the sins of his father, that he did before him, and his heart hath not been perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father;
[4] but for David’s sake hath Jehovah his God given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,
[5] in that David did that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, and turned not aside from all that He commanded him all days of his life-only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;
[6] and war hath been between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
[7] And the rest of the matters of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? And war hath been between Abijam and Jeroboam;
[8] and Abijam lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city of David, and reign doth Asa his son in his stead.
[9] And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned hath Asa over Judah,
[10] and forty and one years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother is Maachah daughter of Abishalom.
[11] And Asa doth that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, like David his father,
[12] and removeth the whoremongers out of the land, and turneth aside all the idols that his fathers made;
[13] and also Maachah his mother-he turneth her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for a shrine, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and burneth it by the brook Kidron;
[14] and the high places have not turned aside; only, the heart of Asa hath been perfect with Jehovah all his days,
[15] and he bringeth in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of Jehovah, silver, and gold, and vessels.
[16] And war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days,
[17] and Baasha king of Israel goeth up against Judah, and buildeth Ramah, not to permit any one going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.
[18] And Asa taketh all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and giveth them into the hand of his servants, and king Asa sendeth them unto Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,
[19] ‘A covenant is between me and thee, between my father and thy father; lo, I have sent to thee a reward of silver and gold; go, break thy covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goeth up from off me.’
[20] And Ben-Hadad hearkeneth unto king Asa, and sendeth the heads of the forces that he hath against cities of Israel, and smiteth Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;
[21] and it cometh to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceaseth from building Ramah, and dwelleth in Tirzah.
[22] And king Asa hath summoned all Judah-there is none exempt-and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha hath built, and king Asa buildeth with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
[23] And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;
[24] and Asa lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead.
[25] And Nadab son of Jeroboam hath reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigneth over Israel two years,
[26] and doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.
[27] And conspire against him doth Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, and Baasha smiteth him in Gibbethon, which is to the Philistines-and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon-
[28] yea, Baasha putteth him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigneth in his stead.
[29] And it cometh to pass, at his reigning, he hath smitten the whole house of Jeroboam, he hath not left any breathing to Jeroboam till his destroying him, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,
[30] because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked to anger Jehovah, God of Israel.
[31] And the rest of the matters of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
[32] And war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
[33] In the third year of Asa king of Judah reigned hath Baasha son of Ahijah over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years,
[34] and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and walketh in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
