Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border, but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz. He fought against Israel.

And Sihon H5511 would not suffer H5414 (QalPerf) Israel H3478 to pass H5674 (QalInf) through his border: H1366 but Sihon H5511 gathered H622 all his people H5971 together, H622 (QalImpf) and went out H3318 (QalImpf) against H7125 (QalInf) Israel H3478 into the wilderness: H4057 and he came H935 (QalImpf) to Jahaz, H3096 and fought H3898 (NiphImpf) against Israel. και ουκ εδωκεν σηων τω ισραηλ παρελθειν δια των οριων αυτου και συνηγαγεν σηων παντα τον λαον αυτου και εξηλθεν παραταξασθαι τω ισραηλ εις την ερημον και ηλθεν εις ιασσα και παρεταξατο τω ισραηλ

For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Arnon.

Therefore those who speak in proverbs say, “Come to Heshbon. Let the city of Sihon be built and established;

δια τουτο ερουσιν οι αινιγματισται ελθετε εις εσεβων ινα οικοδομηθη και κατασκευασθη πολις σηων

for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon. It has devoured Ar of Moab, The lords of the high places of the Arnon.

οτι πυρ εξηλθεν εξ εσεβων φλοξ εκ πολεως σηων και κατεφαγεν εως μωαβ και κατεπιεν στηλας αρνων

Woe to you, Moab! You are undone, people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sihon king of the Amorites.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Don’t fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people, and his land. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him, for Yahweh your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as it is today.

Yahweh said to me, “Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before you. Begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Behold, H7200 (QalImpv) I have begun H2490 (HiphPerf) to give H5414 (QalInf) Sihon H5511 and his land H776 before H6440 thee: begin H2490 (HiphImpv) to possess, H3423 (QalImpv) that thou mayest inherit H3423 (QalInf) his land. H776

Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz.

We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

And we utterly destroyed H2763 (HiphImpf) them, as we did H6213 (QalPerf) unto Sihon H5511 king H4428 of Heshbon, H2809 utterly destroying H2763 (HiphInf) the men, H4962 women, H802 and children, H2945 of every city. H5892

εξωλεθρευσαμεν αυτους ωσπερ εποιησαμεν τον σηων βασιλεα εσεβων και εξωλεθρευσαμεν πασαν πολιν εξης και τας γυναικας και τα παιδια

beyond the Jordan, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel struck when they came out of Egypt.

εν τω περαν του ιορδανου εν φαραγγι εγγυς οικου φογωρ εν γη σηων βασιλεως των αμορραιων ος κατωκει εν εσεβων ους επαταξεν μωυσης και οι υιοι ισραηλ εξελθοντων αυτων εκ γης αιγυπτου

When you came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we struck them.

And when ye came H935 (QalImpf) unto this place, H4725 Sihon H5511 the king H4428 of Heshbon, H2809 and Og H5747 the king H4428 of Bashan, H1316 came out H3318 (QalImpf) against H7125 (QalInf) us unto battle, H4421 and we smote H5221 (HiphImpf) them:

Yahweh will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them.

And the Lord H3068 shall do H6213 (QalPerf) unto them as he did H6213 (QalPerf) to Sihon H5511 and to Og, H5747 kings H4428 of the Amorites, H567 and unto the land H776 of them, whom he destroyed. H8045 (HiphPerf)

Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the middle of the valley, and half Gilead, even to the river Jabbok, the border of the children of Ammon;

and ruled in Mount Hermon, and in Salecah, and in all Bashan, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

and reigned H4910 (QalActPtc) in mount H2022 Hermon, H2768 and in Salcah, H5548 and in all Bashan, H1316 unto the border H1366 of the Geshurites H1651 and the Maachathites, H4602 and half H2677 Gilead, H1568 the border H1366 of Sihon H5511 king H4428 of Heshbon. H2809

Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to my place.’

And Israel H3478 sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers H4397 unto Sihon H5511 king H4428 of the Amorites, H567 the king H4428 of Heshbon; H2809 and Israel H3478 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Let us pass, H5674 (QalImpf) we pray thee, through thy land H776 into H5704 my place. H4725

But Sihon didn’t trust Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

But Sihon H5511 trusted H539 (HiphPerf) not Israel H3478 to pass H5674 (QalInf) through his coast: H1366 but Sihon H5511 gathered H622 all his people H5971 together, H622 (QalImpf) and pitched H2583 (QalImpf) in Jahaz, H3096 and fought H3898 (NiphImpf) against Israel. H3478

και ουκ ηθελησεν σηων διελθειν τον ισραηλ δια των οριων αυτου και συνηγαγεν σηων παντα τον λαον αυτου και παρενεβαλεν εις ιασσα και επολεμησεν μετα ισραηλ

Yahweh, the God of Israel, delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they struck them. So Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.

And the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478 delivered H5414 (QalImpf) Sihon H5511 and all his people H5971 into the hand H3027 of Israel, H3478 and they smote H5221 (HiphImpf) them: so Israel H3478 possessed H3423 (QalImpf) all the land H776 of the Amorites, H567 the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of that country.
