However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

και εξελεξατο κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ εν εμοι απο παντος οικου πατρος μου ειναι βασιλεα επι ισραηλ εις τον αιωνα και εν ιουδα ηρετικεν το βασιλειον και εξ οικου ιουδα τον οικον του πατρος μου και εν τοις υιοις του πατρος μου εν εμοι ηθελησεν του γενεσθαι με βασιλεα επι τω παντι ισραηλ

Of all my sons (for Yahweh has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of Yahweh’s kingdom over Israel.

And of all my sons, H1121 (for the Lord H3068 hath given H5414 (QalPerf) me many H7227 sons, H1121) he hath chosen H977 (QalImpf) Solomon H8010 my son H1121 to sit H3427 (QalInf) upon the throne H3678 of the kingdom H4438 of the Lord H3068 over Israel. H3478

και απο παντων των υιων μου οτι πολλους υιους εδωκεν μοι κυριος εξελεξατο εν σαλωμων τω υιω μου καθισαι αυτον επι θρονου βασιλειας κυριου επι τον ισραηλ

Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Yahweh; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

Then the people H5971 rejoiced, H8055 (QalImpf) for that they offered willingly, H5068 (HithInf) because with perfect H8003 heart H3820 they offered willingly H5068 (HithPerf) to the Lord: H3068 and David H1732 the king H4428 also rejoiced H8055 (QalPerf) with great H1419 joy. H8057

Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

και δαυιδ υιος ιεσσαι εβασιλευσεν επι ισραηλ

The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

Solomon the son of David was firmly established in his kingdom, and Yahweh^§ his God^§ was with him, and made him exceedingly great.

και ενισχυσεν σαλωμων υιος δαυιδ επι την βασιλειαν αυτου και κυριος ο θεος αυτου μετ αυτου και εμεγαλυνεν αυτον εις υψος

Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor yet have you asked for long life; but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king,

και ειπεν ο θεος προς σαλωμων ανθ ων εγενετο τουτο εν τη καρδια σου και ουκ ητησω πλουτον χρηματων ουδε δοξαν ουδε την ψυχην των υπεναντιων και ημερας πολλας ουκ ητησω και ητησας σεαυτω σοφιαν και συνεσιν οπως κρινης τον λαον μου εφ ον εβασιλευσα σε επ αυτον

So Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel.

Then Solomon H8010 came H935 (QalImpf) [from his journey] to the high place H1116 that [was] at Gibeon H1391 to Jerusalem, H3389 from before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 and reigned H4427 (QalImpf) over Israel. H3478

και ηλθεν σαλωμων εκ βαμα της εν γαβαων εις ιερουσαλημ απο προσωπου σκηνης μαρτυριου και εβασιλευσεν επι ισραηλ

Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, “Because Yahweh loves his people, he has made you king over them.”

He made the larger room with a ceiling of cypress wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and ornamented it with palm trees and chains.

He made the most holy place. Its length, according to the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.°

‘Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there, and I chose no man to be prince over my people Israel;

απο της ημερας ης ανηγαγον τον λαον μου εκ γης αιγυπτου ουκ εξελεξαμην εν πολει απο πασων φυλων ισραηλ του οικοδομησαι οικον του ειναι ονομα μου εκει και ουκ εξελεξαμην εν ανδρι του ειναι εις ηγουμενον επι τον λαον μου ισραηλ

but now I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’

και εξελεξαμην εν ιερουσαλημ γενεσθαι το ονομα μου εκει και εξελεξαμην εν δαυιδ ωστε ειναι επανω του λαου μου ισραηλ

“If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;

If thy people H5971 go out H3318 (QalImpf) to war H4421 against their enemies H341 (QalActPtc) by the way H1870 that thou shalt send H7971 (QalImpf) them, and they pray H6419 (HithPerf) unto thee toward H1870 this city H5892 which thou hast chosen, H977 (QalPerf) and the house H1004 which I have built H1129 (QalPerf) for thy name; H8034

εαν δε εξελθη ο λαος σου εις πολεμον επι τους εχθρους αυτου εν οδω η αποστελεις αυτους και προσευξωνται προς σε κατα την οδον της πολεως ταυτης ην εξελεξω εν αυτη και οικου ου ωκοδομησα τω ονοματι σου

On the twenty-third day of the seventh month, he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

And on the three H7969 and twentieth H6242 day H3117 of the seventh H7637 month H2320 he sent H7971 the people H5971 away H7971 (PielPerf) into their tents, H168 glad H8056 and merry H2896 in heart H3820 for the goodness H2896 that the Lord H3068 had shewed H6213 (QalPerf) unto David, H1732 and to Solomon, H8010 and to Israel H3478 his people. και εν τη τριτη και εικοστη του μηνος του εβδομου απεστειλεν τον λαον εις τα σκηνωματα αυτων ευφραινομενους και αγαθη καρδια επι τοις αγαθοις οις εποιησεν κυριος τω δαυιδ και τω σαλωμων και τω ισραηλ λαω αυτου

Thus Solomon finished Yahweh’s house and the king’s house; and he successfully completed all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in Yahweh’s house and in his own house.

Thus Solomon H8010 finished H3615 (PielImpf) the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the king’s H4428 house: H1004 and all that came H935 (QalActPtc) into Solomon’s H8010 heart H3820 to make H6213 (QalInf) in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and in his own house, H1004 he prosperously effected. και συνετελεσεν σαλωμων τον οικον κυριου και τον οικον του βασιλεως και παντα οσα ηθελησεν εν τη ψυχη σαλωμων του ποιησαι εν οικω κυριου και εν οικω αυτου ευοδωθη

They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’ ”

She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom.

και ειπεν προς τον βασιλεα αληθινος ο λογος ον ηκουσα εν τη γη μου περι των λογων σου και περι της σοφιας σου

Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you and set you on his throne to be king for Yahweh your God, because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever. Therefore he made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”

εστω κυριος ο θεος σου ηυλογημενος ος ηθελησεν σοι του δουναι σε επι θρονον αυτου εις βασιλεα τω κυριω θεω σου εν τω αγαπησαι κυριον τον θεον σου τον ισραηλ του στησαι αυτον εις αιωνα και εδωκεν σε επ αυτους εις βασιλεα του ποιησαι κριμα και δικαιοσυνην

Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

Now the rest H7605 of the acts H1697 of Solomon, H8010 first H7223 and last, H314 [are] they not written H3789 (QalPasPtc) in the book H1697 of Nathan H5416 the prophet, H5030 and in the prophecy H5016 of Ahijah H281 the Shilonite, H7888 and in the visions H2378 of Iddo H3260 the seer H2374 against Jeroboam H3379 the son H1121 of Nebat? H5028

και οι καταλοιποι λογοι σαλωμων οι πρωτοι και οι εσχατοι ιδου γεγραμμενοι επι των λογων ναθαν του προφητου και επι των λογων αχια του σηλωνιτου και εν ταις ορασεσιν ιωηλ του ορωντος περι ιεροβοαμ υιου ναβατ

Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

And Solomon H8010 reigned H4427 (QalImpf) in Jerusalem H3389 over all Israel H3478 forty H705 years. H8141

και εβασιλευσεν σαλωμων ο βασιλευς επι παντα ισραηλ τεσσαρακοντα ετη

But as for the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

But [as for] the children H1121 of Israel H3478 that dwelt H3427 (QalActPtc) in the cities H5892 of Judah, H3063 Rehoboam H7346 reigned H4427 (QalImpf) over them.

και ανδρες ισραηλ οι κατοικουντες εν πολεσιν ιουδα και εβασιλευσεν επ αυτων ροβοαμ

Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was over the men subject to forced labor; and the children of Israel stoned him to death with stones. King Rehoboam hurried to get himself up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

Then king H4428 Rehoboam H7346 sent H7971 (QalImpf) Hadoram H1913 that [was] over the tribute; H4522 and the children H1121 of Israel H3478 stoned H7275 (QalImpf) him with stones, H68 that he died. In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Yahweh,

And it came to pass, [that] in the fifth H2549 year H8141 of king H4428 Rehoboam H7346 Shishak H7895 king H4428 of Egypt H4714 came up H5927 (QalPerf) against Jerusalem, H3389 because they had transgressed H4603 (QalPerf) against the Lord, H3068

και εγενετο εν τω πεμπτω ετει της βασιλειας ροβοαμ ανεβη σουσακιμ βασιλευς αιγυπτου επι ιερουσαλημ οτι ημαρτον εναντιον κυριου

So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took away the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house. He took it all away. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

So Shishak H7895 king H4428 of Egypt H4714 came up H5927 (QalImpf) against Jerusalem, H3389 and took away H3947 (QalImpf) the treasures H214 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the treasures H214 of the king’s H4428 house; H1004 he took H3947 (QalPerf) all: he carried away H3947 (QalImpf) also the shields H4043 of gold H2091 which Solomon H8010 had made. και ανεβη σουσακιμ βασιλευς αιγυπτου και ελαβεν τους θησαυρους τους εν οικω κυριου και τους θησαυρους τους εν οικω του βασιλεως τα παντα ελαβεν και ελαβεν τους θυρεους τους χρυσους ους εποιησεν σαλωμων

In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah began to reign over Judah.

Now in the eighteenth H8083 H6240 year H8141 of king H4428 Jeroboam H3379 began Abijah H29 to reign H4427 (QalImpf) over Judah. H3063

εν τω οκτωκαιδεκατω ετει της βασιλειας ιεροβοαμ εβασιλευσεν αβια επι ιουδαν

Ought you not to know that Yahweh, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

ουχ υμιν γνωναι οτι κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ εδωκεν βασιλειαν επι τον ισραηλ εις τον αιωνα τω δαυιδ και τοις υιοις αυτου διαθηκην αλος

Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord.

Yet Jeroboam H3379 the son H1121 of Nebat, H5028 the servant H5650 of Solomon H8010 the son H1121 of David, H1732 is risen up, H6965 (QalImpf) and hath rebelled H4775 (QalImpf) against his lord. H113

και ανεστη ιεροβοαμ ο του ναβατ ο παις σαλωμων του δαυιδ και απεστη απο του κυριου αυτου

Worthless men were gathered to him, wicked fellows who strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender hearted, and could not withstand them.

και συνηχθησαν προς αυτον ανδρες λοιμοι υιοι παρανομοι και αντεστη προς ροβοαμ τον του σαλωμων και ροβοαμ ην νεωτερος και δειλος τη καρδια και ουκ αντεστη κατα προσωπον αυτου

Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. Children of Israel, don’t fight against Yahweh, the God of your fathers; for you will not prosper.”

And, behold, God H430 himself [is] with us for [our] captain, H7218 and his priests H3548 with sounding H8643 trumpets H2689 to cry alarm H7321 (HiphInf) against you. O children H1121 of Israel, H3478 fight H3898 (NiphImpf) ye not against the Lord H3068 God H430 of your fathers; H1 for ye shall not prosper. H6743 (HiphImpf)

και ιδου μεθ ημων εν αρχη κυριος και οι ιερεις αυτου και αι σαλπιγγες της σημασιας του σημαινειν εφ υμας οι υιοι του ισραηλ πολεμησετε προς κυριον θεον των πατερων ημων οτι ουκ ευοδωθησεται υμιν

Asa cried to Yahweh his God, and said, “Yahweh, there is no one besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength. Help us, Yahweh our God; for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. Yahweh, you are our God. Don’t let man prevail against you.”

And Asa H609 cried H7121 (QalImpf) unto the Lord H3068 his God, H430 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Lord, H3068 [it is] nothing with thee to help, H5826 (QalInf) whether H996 with many, H7227 or with them that have no power: H3581 help H5826 (QalImpv) us, O Lord H3068 our God; H430 for we rest H8172 (NiphPerf) on thee, and in thy name H8034 we go H935 (QalPerf) against this multitude. ^[14:10] και εβοησεν ασα προς κυριον θεον αυτου και ειπεν κυριε ουκ αδυνατει παρα σοι σωζειν εν πολλοις και εν ολιγοις κατισχυσον ημας κυριε ο θεος ημων οτι επι σοι πεποιθαμεν και επι τω ονοματι σου ηλθαμεν επι το πληθος το πολυ τουτο κυριε ο θεος ημων μη κατισχυσατω προς σε ανθρωπος

In those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great troubles were on all the inhabitants of the lands.

και εν εκεινω τω καιρω ουκ εστιν ειρηνη τω εκπορευομενω και τω εισπορευομενω οτι εκστασις κυριου επι παντας τους κατοικουντας τας χωρας

All Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found by them. Then Yahweh gave them rest all around.

και ηυφρανθησαν πας ιουδα περι του ορκου οτι εξ ολης της ψυχης ωμοσαν και εν παση θελησει εζητησαν αυτον και ευρεθη αυτοις και κατεπαυσεν αυτοις κυριος κυκλοθεν

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

In the six H8337 and thirtieth H7970 year H8141 of the reign H4438 of Asa H609 Baasha H1201 king H4428 of Israel H3478 came up H5927 (QalPerf) against Judah, H3063 and built H1129 (QalImpf) Ramah, H7414 to the intent that H1115 he might let H5414 (QalInf) none go out H3318 (QalActPtc) or come in H935 (QalActPtc) to Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah. H3063

και εν τω ογδοω και τριακοστω ετει της βασιλειας ασα ανεβη βαασα βασιλευς ισραηλ επι ιουδαν και ωκοδομησεν την ραμα του μη δουναι εξοδον και εισοδον τω ασα βασιλει ιουδα

At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Yahweh your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.

And at that time H6256 Hanani H2607 the seer H7200 (QalActPtc) came H935 (QalPerf) to Asa H609 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Because thou hast relied H8172 (NiphInf) on the king H4428 of Syria, H758 and not relied H8172 (NiphPerf) on the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 therefore is the host H2428 of the king H4428 of Syria H758 escaped H4422 (NiphPerf) out of thine hand. H3027

και εν τω καιρω εκεινω ηλθεν ανανι ο προφητης προς ασα βασιλεα ιουδα και ειπεν αυτω εν τω πεποιθεναι σε επι βασιλεα συριας και μη πεποιθεναι σε επι κυριον θεον σου δια τουτο εσωθη δυναμις συριας απο της χειρος σου

Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.

And Jehoshaphat H3092 his son H1121 reigned H4427 (QalImpf) in his stead, and strengthened H2388 (HithImpf) himself against Israel. H3478

και εβασιλευσεν ιωσαφατ υιος αυτου αντ αυτου και κατισχυσεν ιωσαφατ επι τον ισραηλ

and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;

And next H3027 to him [was] Jehohanan H3076 the captain, H8269 and with him two hundred H3967 and fourscore H8084 thousand. H505

και μετ αυτον ιωαναν ο ηγουμενος και μετ αυτου διακοσιαι ογδοηκοντα χιλιαδες

and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to Yahweh, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.

And next H3027 him [was] Amasiah H6007 the son H1121 of Zichri, H2147 who willingly offered H5068 (HithPtc) himself unto the Lord; H3068 and with him two hundred H3967 thousand H505 mighty men H1368 of valour. H2428

και μετ αυτον αμασιας ο του ζαχρι ο προθυμουμενος τω κυριω και μετ αυτου διακοσιαι χιλιαδες δυνατοι δυναμεως

and next to him Jehozabad, and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready and prepared for war.

And next H3027 him [was] Jehozabad, H3075 and with him an hundred H3967 and fourscore H8084 thousand H505 ready prepared H2502 (QalPasPtc) for the war. H6635

και μετ αυτον ιωζαβαδ και μετ αυτου εκατον ογδοηκοντα χιλιαδες δυνατοι πολεμου

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”

And the king H4428 of Israel H3478 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Jehoshaphat, H3092 [There is] yet one H259 man, H376 by whom we may enquire H1875 (QalInf) of the Lord: H3068 but I hate H8130 (QalPerf) him; for he never prophesied H5012 (HithPtc) good H2896 unto me, but always H3117 evil: H7451 the same [is] Micaiah H4321 the son H1121 of Imla. H3229 And Jehoshaphat H3092 said, H559 (QalImpf) Let not the king H4428 say H559 (QalImpf) so.

και ειπεν βασιλευς ισραηλ προς ιωσαφατ ετι ανηρ εις του ζητησαι τον κυριον δι αυτου και εγω εμισησα αυτον οτι ουκ εστιν προφητευων περι εμου εις αγαθα οτι πασαι αι ημεραι αυτου εις κακα ουτος μιχαιας υιος ιεμλα και ειπεν ιωσαφατ μη λαλειτω ο βασιλευς ουτως

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”

And the king H4428 of Israel H3478 said H559 (QalImpf) to Jehoshaphat, H3092 Did I not tell H559 (QalPerf) thee [that] he would not prophesy H5012 (HithImpf) good H2896 unto me, but evil? H7451

και ειπεν ο βασιλευς ισραηλ προς ιωσαφατ ουκ ειπα σοι οτι ου προφητευει περι εμου αγαθα αλλ η κακα

“Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”

Now therefore, behold, the Lord H3068 hath put H5414 (QalPerf) a lying H8267 spirit H7307 in the mouth H6310 of these thy prophets, H5030 and the Lord H3068 hath spoken H1696 (PielPerf) evil H7451 against thee.

και νυν ιδου εδωκεν κυριος πνευμα ψευδες εν στοματι παντων των προφητων σου τουτων και κυριος ελαλησεν επι σε κακα

When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

And it came to pass, when the captains H8269 of the chariots H7393 saw H7200 (QalInf) Jehoshaphat, H3092 that they said, H559 (QalPerf) It [is] the king H4428 of Israel. H3478 Therefore they compassed about H5437 (QalImpf) him to fight: H3898 (NiphInf) but Jehoshaphat H3092 cried out, H2199 (QalImpf) and the Lord H3068 helped H5826 (QalPerf) him; and God H430 moved H5496 (HiphImpf) them [to depart] from him.

και εγενετο ως ειδον οι αρχοντες των αρματων τον ιωσαφατ και αυτοι ειπαν βασιλευς ισραηλ εστιν και εκυκλωσαν αυτον του πολεμειν και εβοησεν ιωσαφατ και κυριος εσωσεν αυτον και απεστρεψεν αυτους ο θεος απ αυτου

Behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Yahweh; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters. Also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and may Yahweh be with the good.”

And, behold, Amariah H568 the chief H7218 priest H3548 [is] over you in all matters H1697 of the Lord; H3068 and Zebadiah H2069 the son H1121 of Ishmael, H3458 the ruler H5057 of the house H1004 of Judah, H3063 for all the king’s H4428 matters: H1697 also the Levites H3881 [shall be] officers H7860 (QalActPtc) before H6440 you. Deal H6213 (QalImpv) courageously, H2388 (QalImpv) and the Lord H3068 shall be with the good. H2896

και ιδου αμαριας ο ιερευς ηγουμενος εφ υμας εις παν λογον κυριου και ζαβδιας υιος ισμαηλ ο ηγουμενος εις οικον ιουδα προς παν λογον βασιλεως και οι γραμματεις και οι λευιται προ προσωπου υμων ισχυσατε και ποιησατε και εσται κυριος μετα του αγαθου

After this, the children of Moab, the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

It came to pass after this H310 also, [that] the children H1121 of Moab, H4124 and the children H1121 of Ammon, H5983 and with them [other] beside the Ammonites, H5984 came H935 (QalPerf) against Jehoshaphat H3092 to battle. H4421

και μετα ταυτα ηλθον οι υιοι μωαβ και οι υιοι αμμων και μετ αυτων εκ των μιναιων προς ιωσαφατ εις πολεμον

Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).

Then there came H935 (QalImpf) some that told H5046 (HiphImpf) Jehoshaphat, H3092 saying, H559 (QalInf) There cometh H935 (QalActPtc) a great H7227 multitude H1995 against thee from beyond H5676 the sea H3220 on this side Syria; H758 and, behold, they [be] in Hazazontamar, H2688 which [is] Engedi. H5872

και ηλθον και υπεδειξαν τω ιωσαφατ λεγοντες ηκει επι σε πληθος πολυ εκ περαν της θαλασσης απο συριας και ιδου εισιν εν ασασανθαμαρ αυτη εστιν ενγαδδι

Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to Yahweh. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

And Jehoshaphat H3092 feared, H3372 (QalImpf) and set H5414 (QalImpf) himself H6440 to seek H1875 (QalInf) the Lord, H3068 and proclaimed H7121 (QalImpf) a fast H6685 throughout H5921 all Judah. H3063

και εφοβηθη και εδωκεν ιωσαφατ το προσωπον αυτου εκζητησαι τον κυριον και εκηρυξεν νηστειαν εν παντι ιουδα
