Yahweh said to Moses, “I am Yahweh. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I tell you.”

και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων εγω κυριος λαλησον προς φαραω βασιλεα αιγυπτου οσα εγω λεγω προς σε

Moses said before Yahweh, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh listen to me?”

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) before H6440 the Lord, H3068 Behold, I am of uncircumcised H6189 lips, H8193 and how shall Pharaoh H6547 hearken H8085 (QalImpf) unto me?

και ειπεν μωυσης εναντιον κυριου ιδου εγω ισχνοφωνος ειμι και πως εισακουσεται μου φαραω

Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I have made you as God to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 See, H7200 (QalImpv) I have made H5414 (QalPerf) thee a god H430 to Pharaoh: H6547 and Aaron H175 thy brother H251 shall be thy prophet. H5030

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων ιδου δεδωκα σε θεον φαραω και ααρων ο αδελφος σου εσται σου προφητης

You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

συ δε λαλησεις αυτω παντα οσα σοι εντελλομαι ο δε ααρων ο αδελφος σου λαλησει προς φαραω ωστε εξαποστειλαι τους υιους ισραηλ εκ της γης αυτου

I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

And I will harden H7185 (HiphImpf) Pharaoh’s H6547 heart, H3820 and multiply H7235 (HiphPerf) my signs H226 and my wonders H4159 in the land H776 of Egypt. H4714

εγω δε σκληρυνω την καρδιαν φαραω και πληθυνω τα σημεια μου και τα τερατα εν γη αιγυπτω

But Pharaoh will not listen to you, so I will lay my hand on Egypt, and bring out my armies, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

But Pharaoh H6547 shall not hearken H8085 (QalImpf) unto you, that I may lay H5414 (QalPerf) my hand H3027 upon Egypt, H4714 and bring forth H3318 (HiphPerf) mine armies, H6635 and my people H5971 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 out of the land H776 of Egypt H4714 by great H1419 judgments. και ουκ εισακουσεται υμων φαραω και επιβαλω την χειρα μου επ αιγυπτον και εξαξω συν δυναμει μου τον λαον μου τους υιους ισραηλ εκ γης αιγυπτου συν εκδικησει μεγαλη

Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh.

And Moses H4872 was fourscore H8084 years H8141 old, H1121 and Aaron H175 fourscore H8084 and three H7969 years H8141 old, H1121 when they spake H1696 (PielInf) unto Pharaoh. H6547

μωυσης δε ην ετων ογδοηκοντα ααρων δε ο αδελφος αυτου ετων ογδοηκοντα τριων ηνικα ελαλησεν προς φαραω

“When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘Perform a miracle!’ then you shall tell Aaron, ‘Take your rod, and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent.’ ”

Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, as Yahweh had commanded. Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

And Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 went in H935 (QalImpf) unto Pharaoh, H6547 and they did H6213 (QalImpf) so as the Lord H3068 had commanded: H6680 (PielPerf) and Aaron H175 cast down H7993 (HiphImpf) his rod H4294 before H6440 Pharaoh, H6547 and before H6440 his servants, H5650 and it became a serpent. εισηλθεν δε μωυσης και ααρων εναντιον φαραω και των θεραποντων αυτου και εποιησαν ουτως καθαπερ ενετειλατο αυτοις κυριος και ερριψεν ααρων την ραβδον εναντιον φαραω και εναντιον των θεραποντων αυτου και εγενετο δρακων

Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers. They also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same thing with their enchantments.

Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Pharaoh’s H6547 heart H3820 is hardened, H3515 he refuseth H3985 (PielPerf) to let the people H5971 go. H7971 (PielInf)

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην βεβαρηται η καρδια φαραω του μη εξαποστειλαι τον λαον

Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he is going out to the water. You shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him. You shall take the rod which was turned to a serpent in your hand.

βαδισον προς φαραω το πρωι ιδου αυτος εκπορευεται επι το υδωρ και στηση συναντων αυτω επι το χειλος του ποταμου και την ραβδον την στραφεισαν εις οφιν λημψη εν τη χειρι σου

Moses and Aaron did so, as Yahweh commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

και εποιησαν ουτως μωυσης και ααρων καθαπερ ενετειλατο αυτοις κυριος και επαρας τη ραβδω αυτου επαταξεν το υδωρ το εν τω ποταμω εναντιον φαραω και εναντιον των θεραποντων αυτου και μετεβαλεν παν το υδωρ το εν τω ποταμω εις αιμα

The magicians of Egypt did the same thing with their enchantments. So Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

And the magicians H2748 of Egypt H4714 did H6213 (QalImpf) so with their enchantments: H3909 and Pharaoh’s H6547 heart H3820 was hardened, H2388 (QalImpf) neither did he hearken H8085 (QalPerf) unto them; as the Lord H3068 had said. H1696 (PielPerf)

εποιησαν δε ωσαυτως και οι επαοιδοι των αιγυπτιων ταις φαρμακειαις αυτων και εσκληρυνθη η καρδια φαραω και ουκ εισηκουσεν αυτων καθαπερ ειπεν κυριος

Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he didn’t even take this to heart.

And Pharaoh H6547 turned H6437 (QalImpf) and went H935 (QalImpf) into his house, H1004 neither did he set H7896 (QalPerf) his heart H3820 to this H2063 also.

επιστραφεις δε φαραω εισηλθεν εις τον οικον αυτου και ουκ επεστησεν τον νουν αυτου ουδε επι τουτω

Yahweh spoke to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

And the Lord H3068 spake H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Go H935 (QalImpv) unto Pharaoh, H6547 and say H559 (QalPerf) unto him, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 Let my people H5971 go, H7971 (PielImpv) that they may serve H5647 (QalImpf) me.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Then Pharaoh H6547 called H7121 (QalImpf) for Moses H4872 and Aaron, H175 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Intreat H6279 (HiphImpv) the Lord, H3068 that he may take away H5493 (HiphImpf) the frogs H6854 from me, and from my people; H5971 and I will let the people H5971 go, H7971 (PielImpf) that they may do sacrifice H2076 (QalImpf) unto the Lord. ^[8:4] και εκαλεσεν φαραω μωυσην και ααρων και ειπεν ευξασθε περι εμου προς κυριον και περιελετω τους βατραχους απ εμου και απο του εμου λαου και εξαποστελω τον λαον και θυσωσιν κυριω

Moses said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Pharaoh, H6547 Glory H6286 (HithImpv) over me:^§ when H4970 shall I intreat H6279 (HiphImpf) for thee, and for thy servants, H5650 and for thy people, H5971 to destroy^§ H3772 (HiphInf) the frogs H6854 from thee and thy houses, H1004 that they may remain H7604 (NiphImpf) in the river H2975 only?

Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to Yahweh concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.

But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

But when Pharaoh H6547 saw H7200 (QalImpf) that there was respite, H7309 he hardened H3513 (HiphInf) his heart, H3820 and hearkened H8085 (QalPerf) not unto them; as the Lord H3068 had said. H1696 (PielPerf)

Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger;” but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

Then the magicians H2748 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Pharaoh, H6547 This is the finger H676 of God: H430 and Pharaoh’s H6547 heart H3820 was hardened, H2388 (QalImpf) and he hearkened H8085 (QalPerf) not unto them; as the Lord H3068 had said. H1696 (PielPerf)

Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Yahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses. In all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

And the Lord H3068 did H6213 (QalImpf) so; and there came H935 (QalImpf) a grievous H3515 swarm H6157 of flies into the house H1004 of Pharaoh, H6547 and into his servants’ H5650 houses, H1004 and into all the land H776 of Egypt: H4714 the land H776 was corrupted^§ H7843 (NiphImpf) by reason H6440 of the swarm H6157 of flies.

Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”

And Pharaoh H6547 called H7121 (QalImpf) for H413 Moses H4872 and for Aaron, H175 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Go H3212 (QalImpv) ye, sacrifice H2076 (QalImpv) to your God H430 in the land. H776

Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”

And Pharaoh H6547 said, H559 (QalImpf) I will let you go, H7971 (PielImpf) that ye may sacrifice H2076 (QalPerf) to the Lord H3068 your God H430 in the wilderness; H4057 only ye shall not go H3212 (QalInf) very H7368 (HiphInf) far away: H7368 (HiphImpf) intreat H6279 (HiphImpv) for me. H1157

^[8:24] και ειπεν φαραω εγω αποστελλω υμας και θυσατε κυριω τω θεω υμων εν τη ερημω αλλ ου μακραν αποτενειτε πορευθηναι ευξασθε ουν περι εμου προς κυριον

Moses said, “Behold, I am going out from you. I will pray to Yahweh that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahweh.”

And Moses H4872 said, H559 (QalImpf) Behold, I go out H3318 (QalActPtc) from thee, and I will intreat H6279 (HiphPerf) the Lord H3068 that the swarms H6157 of flies may depart H5493 (QalPerf) from Pharaoh, H6547 from his servants, H5650 and from his people, H5971 to morrow: H4279 but H7535 let not Pharaoh H6547 deal deceitfully H2048 (PielInf) any more H3254 (HiphImpf) in not H1115 letting the people H5971 go H7971 (PielInf) to sacrifice H2076 (QalInf) to the Lord. ^[8:25] ειπεν δε μωυσης οδε εγω εξελευσομαι απο σου και ευξομαι προς τον θεον και απελευσεται η κυνομυια απο σου και απο των θεραποντων σου και του λαου σου αυριον μη προσθης ετι φαραω εξαπατησαι του μη εξαποστειλαι τον λαον θυσαι κυριω

Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.

And Moses H4872 went out H3318 (QalImpf) from Pharaoh, H6547 and intreated H6279 (QalImpf) the Lord. H3068

^[8:26] εξηλθεν δε μωυσης απο φαραω και ηυξατο προς τον θεον

Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.

And the Lord H3068 did H6213 (QalImpf) according to the word H1697 of Moses; H4872 and he removed H5493 (HiphImpf) the swarms H6157 of flies from Pharaoh, H6547 from his servants, H5650 and from his people; H5971 there remained H7604 (NiphPerf) not one. H259

^[8:27] εποιησεν δε κυριος καθαπερ ειπεν μωυσης και περιειλεν την κυνομυιαν απο φαραω και των θεραποντων αυτου και του λαου αυτου και ου κατελειφθη ουδεμια

Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.

And Pharaoh H6547 hardened H3513 (HiphImpf) his heart H3820 at this time H6471 also, neither would he let the people H5971 go. H7971 (PielPerf)

^[8:28] και εβαρυνεν φαραω την καρδιαν αυτου και επι του καιρου τουτου και ουκ ηθελησεν εξαποστειλαι τον λαον

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Then the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Go H935 (QalImpv) in unto Pharaoh, H6547 and tell H1696 (PielPerf) him, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 God H430 of the Hebrews, H5680 Let my people H5971 go, H7971 (PielImpv) that they may serve H5647 (QalImpf) me.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην εισελθε προς φαραω και ερεις αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος των εβραιων εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα μοι λατρευσωσιν

Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the livestock of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he didn’t let the people go.

And Pharaoh H6547 sent, H7971 (QalImpf) and, behold, there was not one H259 of the cattle H4735 of the Israelites H3478 dead. H4191 (QalPerf) And the heart H3820 of Pharaoh H6547 was hardened, H3513 (QalImpf) and he did not let the people H5971 go. H7971 (PielPerf)

ιδων δε φαραω οτι ουκ ετελευτησεν απο παντων των κτηνων των υιων ισραηλ ουδεν εβαρυνθη η καρδια φαραω και ουκ εξαπεστειλεν τον λαον

Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron, “Take handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses H4872 and unto Aaron, H175 Take H3947 (QalImpv) to you handfuls H2651 H4393 of ashes H6368 of the furnace, H3536 and let Moses H4872 sprinkle H2236 (QalPerf) it toward the heaven H8064 in the sight H5869 of Pharaoh. H6547

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων λεγων λαβετε υμεις πληρεις τας χειρας αιθαλης καμιναιας και πασατω μωυσης εις τον ουρανον εναντιον φαραω και εναντιον των θεραποντων αυτου

They took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward the sky; and it became boils and blisters breaking out on man and on animal.

And they took H3947 (QalImpf) ashes H6368 of the furnace, H3536 and stood H5975 (QalImpf) before H6440 Pharaoh; H6547 and Moses H4872 sprinkled H2236 (QalImpf) it up toward heaven; H8064 and it became a boil H7822 breaking forth H6524 (QalActPtc) with blains H76 upon man, H120 and upon beast. H929

και ελαβεν την αιθαλην της καμιναιας εναντιον φαραω και επασεν αυτην μωυσης εις τον ουρανον και εγενετο ελκη φλυκτιδες αναζεουσαι εν τοις ανθρωποις και εν τοις τετραποσιν

Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken to Moses.

And the Lord H3068 hardened H2388 (PielImpf) the heart H3820 of Pharaoh, H6547 and he hearkened H8085 (QalPerf) not unto them; as the Lord H3068 had spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto Moses. H4872

εσκληρυνεν δε κυριος την καρδιαν φαραω και ουκ εισηκουσεν αυτων καθα συνεταξεν κυριος

Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Rise up early H7925 (HiphImpv) in the morning, H1242 and stand H3320 (HithImpv) before H6440 Pharaoh, H6547 and say H559 (QalPerf) unto him, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 God H430 of the Hebrews, H5680 Let my people H5971 go, H7971 (PielImpv) that they may serve H5647 (QalImpf) me.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην ορθρισον το πρωι και στηθι εναντιον φαραω και ερεις προς αυτον ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος των εβραιων εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα λατρευσωσιν μοι

Those who feared Yahweh’s word among the servants of Pharaoh made their servants and their livestock flee into the houses.

He that feared H3373 the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 among the servants H5650 of Pharaoh H6547 made his servants H5650 and his cattle H4735 flee H5127 (HiphPerf) into the houses: H1004

ο φοβουμενος το ρημα κυριου των θεραποντων φαραω συνηγαγεν τα κτηνη αυτου εις τους οικους

Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

αποστειλας δε φαραω εκαλεσεν μωυσην και ααρων και ειπεν αυτοις ημαρτηκα το νυν ο κυριος δικαιος εγω δε και ο λαος μου ασεβεις

Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread out his hands to Yahweh; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.

And Moses H4872 went out H3318 (QalImpf) of the city H5892 from Pharaoh, H6547 and spread abroad H6566 (QalImpf) his hands H3709 unto the Lord: H3068 and the thunders H6963 and hail H1259 ceased, H2308 (QalImpf) and the rain H4306 was not poured H5413 (NiphPerf) upon the earth. H776

εξηλθεν δε μωυσης απο φαραω εκτος της πολεως και εξεπετασεν τας χειρας προς κυριον και αι φωναι επαυσαντο και η χαλαζα και ο υετος ουκ εσταξεν ετι επι την γην

When Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders had ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

And when Pharaoh H6547 saw H7200 (QalImpf) that the rain H4306 and the hail H1259 and the thunders H6963 were ceased, H2308 (QalPerf) he sinned H2398 (QalInf) yet more, H3254 (HiphImpf) and hardened H3513 (HiphImpf) his heart, H3820 he and his servants. H5650

ιδων δε φαραω οτι πεπαυται ο υετος και η χαλαζα και αι φωναι προσεθετο του αμαρτανειν και εβαρυνεν αυτου την καρδιαν και των θεραποντων αυτου

The heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go, just as Yahweh had spoken through Moses.

And the heart H3820 of Pharaoh H6547 was hardened, H2388 (QalImpf) neither would he let the children H1121 of Israel H3478 go; H7971 (PielPerf) as the Lord H3068 had spoken H1696 (PielPerf) by H3027 Moses.^§ H4872

Exodus 9:35 Heb. by the hand of Moses

και εσκληρυνθη η καρδια φαραω και ουκ εξαπεστειλεν τους υιους ισραηλ καθαπερ ελαλησεν κυριος τω μωυση

Yahweh said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs among them;

Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’ ” He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.

Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh, their God. Don’t you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”

Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve Yahweh your God; but who are those who will go?”

Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve Yahweh; for that is what you desire!” Then they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, “I have sinned against Yahweh your God, and against you.

Exodus 10:16 Heb. hastened to call

κατεσπευδεν δε φαραω καλεσαι μωυσην και ααρων λεγων ημαρτηκα εναντιον κυριου του θεου υμων και εις υμας

Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.

But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go.

But the Lord H3068 hardened H2388 (PielImpf) Pharaoh’s H6547 heart, H3820 so that he would not let the children H1121 of Israel H3478 go. H7971 (PielPerf)

και εσκληρυνεν κυριος την καρδιαν φαραω και ουκ εξαπεστειλεν τους υιους ισραηλ
