Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah, who were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, “Yahweh says, ‘You have forsaken me, therefore I have also left you in the hand of Shishak.’ ”

And Shemaiah the prophet hath come in unto Rehoboam and the heads of Judah who have been gathered unto Jerusalem from the presence of Shishak, and saith to them, ‘Thus said Jehovah, Ye have forsaken Me, and also, I have left you in the hand of Shishak;’

So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took away the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house. He took it all away. He also took away the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

So Shishak H7895 king H4428 of Egypt H4714 came up H5927 (QalImpf) against Jerusalem, H3389 and took away H3947 (QalImpf) the treasures H214 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the treasures H214 of the king’s H4428 house; H1004 he took H3947 (QalPerf) all: he carried away H3947 (QalImpf) also the shields H4043 of gold H2091 which Solomon H8010 had made. And Shishak king of Egypt cometh up against Jerusalem, and taketh the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king-the whole he hath taken-and he taketh the shields of gold that Solomon had made;

So King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned; for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

And king Rehoboam strengtheneth himself in Jerusalem, and reigneth; for a son of forty and two years is Rehoboam in his reigning, and seventeen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, the city that Jehovah hath chosen to put His name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and the name of his mother is Naamah the Ammonitess,

Abijah stood up on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel:

And Abijah riseth up on the hill of Zemaraim that is in the hill-country of Ephraim, and saith, ‘Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel!

“Now you intend to withstand the kingdom of Yahweh in the hand of the sons of David. You are a great multitude, and the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods are with you.

And now ye think H559 (QalActPtc) to withstand H2388 (HithInf) the kingdom H6440 H4467 of the Lord H3068 in the hand H3027 of the sons H1121 of David; H1732 and ye [be] a great H7227 multitude, H1995 and [there are] with you golden H2091 calves, H5695 which Jeroboam H3379 made H6213 (QalPerf) you for gods. ‘And now, ye are saying to strengthen yourselves before the kingdom of Jehovah in the hand of the sons of David, and ye are a numerous multitude, and with you calves of gold that Jeroboam hath made to you for gods.

Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So many of the Ethiopians fell that they could not recover themselves, for they were destroyed before Yahweh and before his army. Judah’s army carried away very much booty.

And Asa H609 and the people H5971 that [were] with him pursued H7291 (QalImpf) them unto Gerar: H1642 and the Ethiopians H3569 were overthrown, H5307 (QalImpf) that they could not recover H4241 themselves; for they were destroyed H7665 (NiphPerf) before H6440 the Lord, H3068 and before H6440 his host; H4264 and they carried away H5375 (QalImpf) very H3966 much H7235 (HiphInf) spoil. and Asa and the people who are with him pursue them even to Gerar, and there fall of the Cushim, for they have no preserving, because they have been broken before Jehovah, and before His camp; and they bear away very much spoil,

When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed Yahweh’s altar that was before Yahweh’s porch.

And when Asa H609 heard H8085 (QalInf) these words, H1697 and the prophecy H5016 of Oded H5752 the prophet, H5030 he took courage, H2388 (HithPerf) and put away H5674 (HiphImpf) the abominable idols H8251 out of all the land H776 of Judah H3063 and Benjamin, H1144 and out of the cities H5892 which he had taken H3920 (QalPerf) from mount H2022 Ephraim, H669 and renewed H2318 (PielImpf) the altar H4196 of the Lord, H3068 that [was] before H6440 the porch H197 of the Lord. And at Asa’s hearing these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he hath strengthened himself, and doth cause the abominations to pass away out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities that he hath captured from the hill-country of Ephraim, and reneweth the altar of Jehovah that is before the porch of Jehovah,

and that whoever would not seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

That whosoever would not seek H1875 (QalImpf) the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478 should be put to death, H4191 (HophImpf) whether H4480 small H6996 or great, H1419 whether man H376 or woman. H802

and every one who doth not seek for Jehovah, God of Israel, is put to death, from small unto great, from man unto woman.

Also Maacah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen mother, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; so Asa cut down her image, ground it into dust, and burned it at the brook Kidron.

And also [concerning] Maachah H4601 the mother H517 of Asa H609 the king, H4428 he removed H5493 (HiphPerf) her from [being] queen, H1377 because she had made H6213 (QalPerf) an idol H4656 in a grove: H842 and Asa H609 cut down H3772 (QalImpf) her idol, H4656 and stamped H1854 (HiphImpf) [it], and burnt H8313 (QalImpf) [it] at the brook H5158 Kidron. And also Maachah, mother of Asa the king-he hath removed her from being mistress, in that she hath made for a shrine a horrible thing, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and beateth it small, and burneth it by the brook Kidron:

Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, with which Baasha had built; and he built Geba and Mizpah with them.

and Asa the king hath taken all Judah, and they bear away the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha hath built, and he buildeth with them Geba and Mizpah.

They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in David’s city, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.

and they bury him in one of his graves, that he had prepared for himself in the city of David, and they cause him to lie on a bed that one hath filled with spices, and divers kinds of mixtures, with perfumed work; and they burn for him a burning-very great.

He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

And he placed H5414 (QalImpf) forces H2428 in all the fenced H1219 (QalPasPtc) cities H5892 of Judah, H3063 and set H5414 (QalImpf) garrisons H5333 in the land H776 of Judah, H3063 and in the cities H5892 of Ephraim, H669 which Asa H609 his father H1 had taken. H3920 (QalPerf)

and putteth a force in all the fenced cities of Judah, and putteth garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured.

The fear of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

And the fear H6343 of the Lord H3068 fell upon all the kingdoms H4467 of the lands H776 that [were] round about H5439 Judah, H3063 so that they made no war H3898 (NiphPerf) against Jehoshaphat. H3092

And here is a fear of Jehovah on all kingdoms of the lands that are round about Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;

These were those who waited on the king, in addition to those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.

These waited H8334 (PielPtc) on the king, H4428 beside [those] whom the king H4428 put H5414 (QalPerf) in the fenced H4013 cities H5892 throughout all Judah. H3063

These are those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the cities of fortress, in all Judah.

After some years, he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.

And after H7093 [certain] years H8141 he went down H3381 (QalImpf) to Ahab H256 to Samaria. H8111 And Ahab H256 killed H2076 (QalImpf) sheep H6629 and oxen H1241 for him in abundance, H7230 and for the people H5971 that [he had] with him, and persuaded H5496 (HiphImpf) him to go up H5927 (QalInf) [with him] to Ramothgilead. and goeth down at the end of certain years unto Ahab to Samaria, and Ahab sacrificeth for him sheep and oxen in abundance, and for the people who are with him, and persuadeth him to go up unto Ramoth-Gilead.

The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”

And the messenger H4397 that went H1980 (QalPerf) to call H7121 (QalInf) Micaiah H4321 spake H1696 (PielPerf) to him, saying, H559 (QalInf) Behold, the words H1697 of the prophets H5030 [declare] good H2896 to the king H4428 with one H259 assent; H6310 let thy word H1697 therefore, I pray thee, be like one H259 of theirs, and speak H1696 (PielPerf) thou good. And the messenger who hath gone to call for Micaiah hath spoken unto him, saying, ‘Lo, the words of the prophets-one mouth-are good towards the king, and let, I pray thee, thy word be like one of theirs: and thou hast spoken good.’

Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, I will say what my God says.”

And Micaiah H4321 said, H559 (QalImpf) [As] the Lord H3068 liveth, H2416 even what my God H430 saith, H559 (QalImpf) that will I speak. H1696 (PielImpf)

And Micaiah saith ‘Jehovah liveth, surely that which my God saith, it I speak.’

He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’ ”

Then he said, H559 (QalImpf) I did see H7200 (QalPerf) all Israel H3478 scattered H6327 (NiphPtc) upon the mountains, H2022 as sheep H6629 that have no shepherd: H7462 (QalActPtc) and the Lord H3068 said, H559 (QalImpf) These have no master; H113 let them return H7725 (QalImpf) [therefore] every man H376 to his house H1004 in peace. And he saith, ‘I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd, and Jehovah saith, There are no masters to these, they turn back each to his house in peace.’

Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”

And Micaiah H4321 said, H559 (QalImpf) Behold, thou shalt see H7200 (QalActPtc) on that day H3117 when thou shalt go H935 (QalImpf) into an inner H2315 chamber H2315 to hide H2244 (NiphInf) thyself.

And Micaiah saith, ‘Lo, thou dost see in that day, that thou dost enter into the innermost chamber to be hidden.’

Whenever any controversy comes to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you must warn them, that they not be guilty toward Yahweh, and so wrath come on you and on your brothers. Do this, and you will not be guilty.

And what cause H7379 soever shall come H935 (QalImpf) to you of your brethren H251 that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) in their cities, H5892 between blood H1818 and blood, H1818 between law H8451 and commandment, H4687 statutes H2706 and judgments, H4941 ye shall even warn H2094 (HiphPerf) them that they trespass H816 (QalImpf) not against the Lord, H3068 and [so] wrath H7110 come upon you, and upon your brethren: H251 this H3541 do, H6213 (QalImpf) and ye shall not trespass. and any strife that cometh in unto you of your brethren who are dwelling in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and command, statutes, and judgments, then ye have warned them and they become not guilty before Jehovah, and wrath hath not been on you and on your brethren; thus do ye do, and ye are not guilty.

Now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned away from them, and didn’t destroy them;

And now, behold, the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 and Moab H4124 and mount H2022 Seir, H8165 whom thou wouldest not let H5414 (QalPerf) Israel H3478 invade, H935 (QalInf) when they came out H935 (QalInf) of the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 but they turned H5493 (QalPerf) from them, and destroyed H8045 (HiphPerf) them not;

‘And now, lo, sons of Ammon, and Moab, and mount Seir, whom Thou didst not grant to Israel to go in against in their coming out of the land of Egypt, for they turned aside from off them and destroyed them not,

behold, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.

and lo, they are recompensing to us-to come in to drive us out of Thy possession, that Thou hast caused us to possess.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Jehu the son of Hanani, which is included in the book of the kings of Israel.

And the rest of the matters of Jehoshaphat, the first and the last, lo, they are written among the matters of Jehu son of Hanani, who hath been mentioned on the book of the kings of Israel.

However Yahweh would not destroy David’s house, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.

Howbeit the Lord H3068 would H14 (QalPerf) not destroy H7843 (HiphInf) the house H1004 of David, H1732 because of the covenant H1285 that he had made H3772 (QalPerf) with David, H1732 and as he promised H559 (QalPerf) to give H5414 (QalInf) a light H5216 to him and to his sons H1121 for ever. and Jehovah hath not been willing to destroy the house of David, for the sake of the covenant that He made with David, and as He had said to give to him a lamp, and to his sons-all the days.

A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “Yahweh, the God of David your father, says, ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And there cometh in unto him a writing from Elijah the prophet, saying, ‘Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, Because that thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, and in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Yahweh stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians;

Moreover the Lord H3068 stirred up H5782 (HiphImpf) against Jehoram H3088 the spirit H7307 of the Philistines, H6430 and of the Arabians, H6163 that [were] near H5921 H3027 the Ethiopians: H3569

And Jehovah waketh up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who are beside the Cushim,

He returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

And he returned H7725 (QalImpf) to be healed H7495 (HithInf) in Jezreel H3157 because of the wounds H4347 which were given H5221 (HiphPerf) him at Ramah, H7414 when he fought H3898 (NiphInf) with Hazael H2371 king H4428 of Syria. and he turneth back to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds with which they had smitten him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram. And Azariah son of Jehoram king of Judah hath gone down to see Jehoram son of Ahab, in Jezreel, for he is sick;

Now the destruction of Ahaziah was of God, in that he went to Joram; for when he had come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh had anointed to cut off Ahab’s house.

And the destruction H8395 of Ahaziah H274 was of God H430 by coming H935 (QalInf) to Joram: H3141 for when he was come, H935 (QalInf) he went out H3318 (QalPerf) with Jehoram H3088 against Jehu H3058 the son H1121 of Nimshi, H5250 whom the Lord H3068 had anointed H4886 (QalPerf) to cut off H3772 (HiphInf) the house H1004 of Ahab. and from God hath been the destruction of Ahaziah, to come unto Joram: and in his coming he hath gone out with Jehoram unto Jehu son of Nimshi, whom Jehovah anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

He sought Ahaziah, and they caught him (now he was hiding in Samaria), and they brought him to Jehu and killed him; and they buried him, for they said, “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Yahweh with all his heart.” The house of Ahaziah had no power to hold the kingdom.

And he seeketh Ahaziah, and they capture him, (and he is hiding himself in Samaria), and bring him in unto Jehu, and put him to death, and bury him, for they said, ‘He is son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Jehovah with all his heart;’ and there is none to the house of Ahaziah to retain power for the kingdom.

This is the thing that you must do: a third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be gatekeepers of the thresholds.

This [is] the thing H1697 that ye shall do; H6213 (QalImpf) A third part H7992 of you entering H935 (QalActPtc) on the sabbath, H7676 of the priests H3548 and of the Levites, H3881 [shall be] porters H7778 of the doors; H5592

‘This is the thing that ye do: The third of you, going in on the sabbath, of the priests, and of the Levites, are for gatekeepers of the thresholds,

Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, bucklers, and shields that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.

Moreover Jehoiada H3077 the priest H3548 delivered H5414 (QalImpf) to the captains H8269 of hundreds H3967 spears, H2595 and bucklers, H4043 and shields, H7982 that [had been] king H4428 David’s, H1732 which [were] in the house H1004 of God. H430

And Jehoiada the priest giveth to the heads of the hundreds the spears, and the shields, and the bucklers that are king David’s, that are in the house of God;

Jehoiada appointed the officers of Yahweh’s house under the hand of the Levitical priests, whom David had distributed in Yahweh’s house, to offer the burnt offerings of Yahweh, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as David had ordered.

Also Jehoiada H3077 appointed H7760 (QalImpf) the offices H6486 of the house H1004 of the Lord H3068 by the hand H3027 of the priests H3548 the Levites, H3881 whom David H1732 had distributed H2505 (QalPerf) in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 to offer H5927 (HiphInf) the burnt offerings H5930 of the Lord, H3068 as [it is] written H3789 (QalPasPtc) in the law H8451 of Moses, H4872 with rejoicing H8057 and with singing, H7892 [as it was ordained] by H3027 David. And Jehoiada putteth the offices of the house of Jehovah into the hand of the priests the Levites whom David had apportioned over the house of Jehovah, to cause to ascend the burnt-offerings of Jehovah, as written in the law of Moses, with joy, and with singing, by the hands of David;

Thus Joash the king didn’t remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said, “May Yahweh look at it, and repay it.”

Thus Joash H3101 the king H4428 remembered H2142 (QalPerf) not the kindness H2617 which Jehoiada H3077 his father H1 had done H6213 (QalPerf) to him, but slew H2026 (QalImpf) his son. and Joash the king hath not remembered the kindness that Jehoiada his father did with him, and slayeth his son, and in his death he said, ‘Jehovah doth see, and require.’

But he didn’t put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

But he slew H4191 (HiphPerf) not their children, H1121 but [did] as [it is] written H3789 (QalPasPtc) in the law H8451 in the book H5612 of Moses, H4872 where the Lord H3068 commanded, H6680 (PielPerf) saying, H559 (QalInf) The fathers H1 shall not die H4191 (QalImpf) for the children, H1121 neither shall the children H1121 die H4191 (QalImpf) for the fathers, H1 but every man H376 shall die H4191 (QalImpf) for his own sin. and their sons he hath not put to death, but did as is written in the law, in the book of Moses, whom Jehovah commanded, saying, ‘Fathers do not die for sons, and sons die not for fathers, but each for his own sin they die.’

Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do for the hundred talents° which I have given to the army of Israel?” The man of God answered, “Yahweh is able to give you much more than this.”

H3478 And the man H376 of God H430 answered, H559 (QalImpf) The Lord H3068 is H3426 able to give H5414 (QalInf) thee much more H7235 (HiphInf) than this.

And Amaziah saith to the man of God, ‘And what-to do for the hundred talents that I have given to the troop of Israel?’ And the man of God saith, ‘Jehovah hath more to give to thee than this.’

Then Amaziah separated them, the army that had come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again. Therefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in fierce anger.

Then Amaziah H558 separated H914 (HiphImpf) them, [to wit], the army H1416 that was come H935 (QalPerf) to him out of Ephraim, H669 to go H3212 home H4725 again: H3212 (QalInf) wherefore their anger H639 was greatly H3966 kindled H2734 (QalImpf) against Judah, H3063 and they returned H7725 (QalImpf) home H4725 in great H2750 anger. H639

And Amaziah separateth them-for the troop that hath come in unto him from Ephraim to go to their own place, and their anger doth burn mightily against Judah, and they turn back to their place in the heat of anger.

But the men of the army whom Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell on the cities of Judah from Samaria even to Beth Horon, and struck of them three thousand, and took much plunder.

But the soldiers H1121 of the army H1416 which Amaziah H558 sent back, H7725 (HiphPerf) that they should not go H3212 (QalInf) with him to battle, H4421 fell H6584 (QalImpf) upon the cities H5892 of Judah, H3063 from Samaria H8111 even unto Bethhoron, H1032 and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) three H7969 thousand H505 of them, and took H962 (QalImpf) much H7227 spoil. H961

And the sons of the troop that Amaziah hath sent back from going with him to battle-they rush against cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Beth-Horon, and smite of them three thousand, and seize much prey.

Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against Amaziah, and he sent to him a prophet who said to him, “Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of your hand?”

Wherefore the anger H639 of the Lord H3068 was kindled H2734 (QalImpf) against Amaziah, H558 and he sent H7971 (QalImpf) unto him a prophet, H5030 which said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Why hast thou sought H1875 (QalPerf) after the gods H430 of the people, H5971 which could not deliver H5337 (HiphPerf) their own people H5971 out of thine hand? H3027

And the anger of Jehovah burneth against Amaziah, and He sendeth unto him a prophet, and he saith unto him, ‘Why hast thou sought the gods of the people that have not delivered their people out of thy hand?’

Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as his wife. Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.

And Joash H3101 king H4428 of Israel H3478 sent H7971 (QalImpf) to Amaziah H558 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 saying, H559 (QalInf) The thistle H2336 that [was] in Lebanon H3844 sent H7971 (QalPerf) to the cedar H730 that [was] in Lebanon, H3844 saying, H559 (QalInf) Give H5414 (QalImpv) thy daughter H1323 to my son H1121 to wife: H802 and there passed by H5674 (QalImpf) a wild H7704 beast H2416 that [was] in Lebanon, H3844 and trode down H7429 (QalImpf) the thistle. H2336

‘Come, we look one another in the face.’ And Joash king of Israel sendeth unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, ‘The thorn that is in Lebanon hath sent unto the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son for a wife; and pass by doth a beast of the field that is in Lebanon, and treadeth down the thorn.

So Joash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

So Joash H3101 the king H4428 of Israel H3478 went up; H5927 (QalImpf) and they saw one another H7200 (HithImpf) in the face, H6440 [both] he and Amaziah H558 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 at Bethshemesh, H1053 which [belongeth] to Judah. H3063

and go up doth Joash king of Israel, and they look one another in the face, he and Amaziah king of Judah, in Beth-Shemesh, that is Judah’s,

So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings, for they said, “He is a leper.” Jotham his son reigned in his place.

So Uzziah H5818 slept H7901 (QalImpf) with his fathers, H1 and they buried H6912 (QalImpf) him with his fathers H1 in the field H7704 of the burial H6900 which [belonged] to the kings; H4428 for they said, H559 (QalPerf) He [is] a leper: H6879 (PualPtc) and Jotham H3147 his son H1121 reigned H4427 (QalImpf) in his stead.

and Uzziah lieth with his fathers, and they bury him with his fathers, in the field of the burying-place that the kings have, for they said, ‘He is a leper;’ and reign doth Jotham his son in his stead.

Moreover he burned incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burned his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

Moreover he burnt incense H6999 (HiphPerf) in the valley H1516 of the son H1121 of Hinnom, H2011 and burnt H1197 (HiphImpf) his children H1121 in the fire, H784 after the abominations H8441 of the heathen H1471 whom the Lord H3068 had cast out H3423 (HiphPerf) before H6440 the children H1121 of Israel. and himself hath made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burneth his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives that you have taken captive from your brothers, for the fierce wrath of Yahweh is on you.”

Now hear H8085 (QalImpv) me therefore, and deliver H7725 (HiphImpv) the captives H7633 again, which ye have taken captive H7617 (QalPerf) of your brethren: H251 for the fierce H2740 wrath H639 of the Lord H3068 [is] upon you.

and now, hear me, and send back the captives whom ye have taken captive of your brethren, for the heat of the anger of Jehovah is upon you.’

The men who have been mentioned by name rose up and took the captives, and with the plunder clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them, gave them sandals, gave them something to eat and to drink, anointed them, carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.

and the men who have been expressed by name rise and take hold on the captives, and all their naked ones they have clothed from the spoil, yea, they clothe them, and shoe them, and cause them to eat and drink, and anoint them, and lead them on asses, even every feeble one, and bring them in to Jericho, the city of palms, near their brethren, and turn back to Samaria.

The priests went into the inner part of Yahweh’s house to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in Yahweh’s temple into the court of Yahweh’s house. The Levites took it from there to carry it out to the brook Kidron.

And the priests H3548 went H935 (QalImpf) into the inner part H6441 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 to cleanse H2891 (PielInf) [it], and brought out H3318 (HiphImpf) all the uncleanness H2932 that they found H4672 (QalPerf) in the temple H1964 of the Lord H3068 into the court H2691 of the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068 And the Levites H3881 took H6901 (PielImpf) [it], to carry [it] out H3318 (HiphInf) abroad H2351 into the brook H5158 Kidron. H6939

and the priests come in to the inner part of the house of Jehovah to cleanse it, and bring out all the uncleanness that they have found in the temple of Jehovah to the court of the house of Jehovah, and the Levites receive it, to take it out to the brook Kidron without.

Moreover, we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels which King Ahaz threw away in his reign when he was unfaithful. Behold, they are before Yahweh’s altar.”

Moreover all the vessels, H3627 which king H4428 Ahaz H271 in his reign H4438 did cast away H2186 (HiphPerf) in his transgression, H4604 have we prepared H3559 (HiphPerf) and sanctified, H6942 (HiphPerf) and, behold, they [are] before H6440 the altar H4196 of the Lord. H3068

and all the vessels that king Ahaz cast away in his reign-in his trespass-we have prepared and sanctified, and lo, they are before the altar of Jehovah.’

The number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs. All these were for a burnt offering to Yahweh.

And the number H4557 of the burnt offerings, H5930 which the congregation H6951 brought, H935 (HiphPerf) was threescore and ten H7657 bullocks, H1241 an hundred H3967 rams, H352 [and] two hundred H3967 lambs: H3532 all these [were] for a burnt offering H5930 to the Lord. H3068

And the number of the burnt-offerings that the assembly have brought in, is seventy oxen, a hundred rams, lambs two hundred; for a burnt-offering to Jehovah are all these.

Don’t be like your fathers and like your brothers, who trespassed against Yahweh, the God of their fathers, so that he gave them up to desolation, as you see.

And be not ye like your fathers, H1 and like your brethren, H251 which trespassed H4603 (QalPerf) against the Lord H3068 God H430 of their fathers, H1 [who] therefore gave them up H5414 (QalImpf) to desolation, H8047 as ye see. H7200 (QalActPtc)

and do not be like your fathers, and like your brethren, who trespassed against Jehovah, God of their fathers, and He giveth them to desolation, as ye do see.

Now don’t be stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to Yahweh, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve Yahweh your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

Now be ye not stiffnecked, H7185 (HiphImpf) H6203 as your fathers H1 [were, but] yield H5414 (QalImpv) yourselves H3027 unto the Lord, H3068 and enter H935 (QalImpv) into his sanctuary, H4720 which he hath sanctified H6942 (HiphPerf) for ever: H5769 and serve H5647 (QalImpv) the Lord H3068 your God, H430 that the fierceness H2740 of his wrath H639 may turn away H7725 (QalImpf) from you.

‘Now, harden not your neck like your fathers, give a hand to Jehovah, and come in to His sanctuary, that He hath sanctified to the age, and serve Jehovah your God, and the fierceness of His anger doth turn back from you;

They arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and they took away all the altars for incense and threw them into the brook Kidron.

And they arose H6965 (QalImpf) and took away H5493 (HiphImpf) the altars H4196 that [were] in Jerusalem, H3389 and all the altars for incense H6999 took they away, H5493 (HiphPerf) and cast H7993 (HiphImpf) [them] into the brook H5158 Kidron. H6939

And they arise and turn aside the altars that are in Jerusalem, and all the perfume altars they have turned aside, and cast them to the brook Kidron;
