He said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your belly and your bowels with it.” Then I ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be mute and will not be able to correct them, for they are a rebellious house.

και την γλωσσαν σου συνδησω και αποκωφωθηση και ουκ εση αυτοις εις ανδρα ελεγχοντα διοτι οικος παραπικραινων εστιν

Take for yourself an iron pan and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city. Then set your face toward it. It will be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

when I send on them the evil arrows of famine that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. I will increase the famine on you and will break your staff of bread.

εν τω γενεσθαι εξ υμων ανασωζομενους εκ ρομφαιας εν τοις εθνεσιν και εν τω διασκορπισμω υμων εν ταις χωραις

You will know that I am Yahweh when their slain men are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every thick oak—the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols.

My eye will not spare you, neither will I have pity; but I will bring your ways on you, and your abominations will be among you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.’

But of those who escape, they will escape and will be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, everyone in his iniquity.

Ezekiel 7:19 Heb. for a separation or uncleanness

το αργυριον αυτων ριφησεται εν ταις πλατειαις και το χρυσιον αυτων υπεροφθησεται αι ψυχαι αυτων ου μη εμπλησθωσιν και αι κοιλιαι αυτων ου μη πληρωθωσιν διοτι βασανος των αδικιων αυτων εγενετο

Mischief will come on mischief, and rumor will be on rumor. They will seek a vision of the prophet; but the law will perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

It came to pass, when he commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, “Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim,” that he went in and stood beside a wheel.

και εγενετο εν τω προφητευειν με και φαλτιας ο του βαναιου απεθανεν και πιπτω επι προσωπον μου και ανεβοησα φωνη μεγαλη και ειπα οιμμοι οιμμοι κυριε εις συντελειαν συ ποιεις τους καταλοιπους του ισραηλ

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

“Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.”’

δια τουτο ειπον ταδε λεγει κυριος οτι απωσομαι αυτους εις τα εθνη και διασκορπιω αυτους εις πασαν την γην και εσομαι αυτοις εις αγιασμα μικρον εν ταις χωραις ου αν εισελθωσιν εκει

that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

In the morning, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

The cities that are inhabited will be laid waste, and the land will be a desolation. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

And the cities H5892 that are inhabited H3427 (NiphPtc) shall be laid waste, H2717 (QalImpf) and the land H776 shall be desolate; H8077 and ye shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that I am the Lord. H3068

και αι πολεις αυτων αι κατοικουμεναι εξερημωθησονται και η γη εις αφανισμον εσται και επιγνωσεσθε διοτι εγω κυριος

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

And the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came unto me, saying, H559 (QalInf)

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

For there will be no more any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

For there shall be no more any vain H7723 vision H2377 nor flattering H2509 divination H4738 within H8432 the house H1004 of Israel. H3478

οτι ουκ εσται ετι πασα ορασις ψευδης και μαντευομενος τα προς χαριν εν μεσω των υιων ισραηλ

Again Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

Israel, your prophets have been like foxes in the waste places.

O Israel, H3478 thy prophets H5030 are like the foxes H7776 in the deserts. H2723

οι προφηται σου ισραηλ ως αλωπεκες εν ταις ερημοις

“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who utter lying divinations. They will not be in the council of my people, neither will they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither will they enter into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”

And mine hand H3027 shall be upon the prophets H5030 that see H2374 vanity, H7723 and that divine H7080 (QalActPtc) lies: H3577 they shall not be in the assembly^§ H5475 of my people, H5971 neither shall they be written H3789 (NiphImpf) in the writing H3791 of the house H1004 of Israel, H3478 neither shall they enter H935 (QalImpf) into the land H127 of Israel; H3478 and ye shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that I am the Lord H136 God.
