Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will wail for anguish of spirit.

For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says Yahweh: “but I will look to this man, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.

And all these My hand hath made, And all these things are, An affirmation of Jehovah! And unto this one I look attentively, Unto the humble and bruised in spirit, And who is trembling at My word.

a wild donkey used to the wilderness, that sniffs the wind in her craving. When she is in heat, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves. In her month, they will find her.

A wild ass H6501 used H3928 to the wilderness, H4057 [that] snuffeth up H7602 (QalPerf) the wind H7307 at her pleasure; H185 H5315 in her occasion H8385 who can turn her away? A wild ass accustomed to a wilderness, In the desire of her soul she hath swallowed up wind, Her meeting-who doth turn her back? None seeking her do weary themselves, In her month they find her.

At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind blows from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse.

At that time it is said of this people, And of Jerusalem: ‘A dry wind of high places in the wilderness,’ The way of the daughter of My people, (Not for winnowing, nor for cleansing,)

A full wind from these will come for me. Now I will also utter judgments against them.”

[Even] a full H4392 wind H7307 from those [places] shall come H935 (QalImpf) unto me: now also will I give H1696 (PielImpf) sentence H4941 against them.

A full wind from these doth come for Me, Now, also, I speak judgments with them.

The prophets will become wind, and the word is not in them. Thus it will be done to them.”

And the prophets H5030 shall become wind, H7307 and the word H1696 (PielInf) [is] not in them: thus shall it be done H6213 (NiphImpf) unto them.

And the prophets become wind, And the word is not in them,’-thus it is done by them.

When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.

At the voice He giveth forth, A multitude of waters is in the heavens, And He causeth vapours to come up from the end of the earth, Lightnings for rain He hath made, And bringeth out wind from His treasures.

Every man has become brutish and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

Every man H120 is brutish H1197 (NiphPerf) in [his] knowledge: H1847 every founder H6884 (QalActPtc) is confounded H3001 (HiphPerf) by the graven image: H6459 for his molten image H5262 [is] falsehood, H8267 and [there is] no breath H7307 in them.

Brutish is every man by knowledge, Put to shame is every refiner by a graven image, For false is his molten image. And there is no breath in them.

“Therefore I will scatter them as the stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.

Therefore will I scatter H6327 (HiphImpf) them as the stubble H7179 that passeth away H5674 (QalActPtc) by the wind H7307 of the wilderness. H4057

And I scatter them as stubble, Passing away, by a wind of the wilderness.

The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights. They pant for air like jackals. Their eyes fail, because there is no vegetation.

And the wild asses H6501 did stand H5975 (QalPerf) in the high places, H8205 they snuffed up H7602 (QalPerf) the wind H7307 like dragons; H8577 their eyes H5869 did fail, H3615 (QalPerf) because [there was] no grass. H6212

And wild asses have stood on high places, They have swallowed up wind like dragons, Consumed have been their eyes, for there is no herb.

I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy. I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.

I will scatter H6327 (HiphImpf) them as with an east H6921 wind H7307 before H6440 the enemy; H341 (QalActPtc) I will shew H7200 (QalImpf) them the back, H6203 and not the face, H6440 in the day H3117 of their calamity. H343

As an east wind I scatter them before an enemy, The neck, and not the face, I shew them, In the day of their calamity.’

The wind will feed all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

The wind H7307 shall eat up H7462 (QalImpf) all thy pastors, H7462 (QalActPtc) and thy lovers H157 (PielPtc) shall go H3212 (QalImpf) into captivity: H7628 surely then shalt thou be ashamed H954 (QalImpf) and confounded H3637 (NiphPerf) for all thy wickedness. H7451

All thy friends consume doth wind, And thy lovers into captivity do go, Surely then thou art ashamed, And hast blushed for all thy wickedness.

Their camels will be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a plunder. I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their beards cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them,” says Yahweh.

And their camels have been for a prey, And the multitude of their cattle for a spoil, And I have scattered them to every wind, Who cut off the corner of the beard, And from all its passages I bring in their calamity, An affirmation of Jehovah.

I will bring on Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds. There will be no nation where the outcasts of Elam will not come.

And I have brought in to Elam four winds, From the four ends of the heavens, And have scattered them to all these winds, And there is no nation whither outcasts of Elam come not in.

Yahweh says: “Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against those who dwell in Lebkamai, a destroying wind.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Behold, I will raise up H5782 (HiphPtc) against Babylon, H894 and against them that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) in the midst H3820 of them that rise up H6965 (QalPtc) against me, a destroying H7843 (HiphPtc) wind; H7307

Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am stirring up against Babylon, And the inhabitants of Leb-My withstanders, A destroying wind,

“Make the arrows sharp! Hold the shields firmly! Yahweh has stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is against Babylon, to destroy it; for it is the vengeance of Yahweh, the vengeance of his temple.

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.

The breath of our nostrils-the anointed of Jehovah, Hath been captured in their pits, of whom we said: ‘In his shadow we do live among nations.’

I looked, and behold,^§ a stormy wind came out of the north: a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness around it, and out of the middle of it as it were glowing metal, out of the middle of the fire.

Ezekiel 1:4 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

And I looked, H7200 (QalImpf) and, behold, a whirlwind H7307 H5591 came H935 (QalActPtc) out of the north, H6828 a great H1419 cloud, H6051 and a fire H784 infolding H3947 (HithPtc) itself, and a brightness H5051 [was] about H5439 it, and out of the midst H8432 thereof as the colour H5869 of amber, H2830 out of the midst H8432 of the fire. And I look, and lo, a tempestuous wind is coming from the north, a great cloud, and fire catching itself, and brightness to it round about, and out of its midst as the colour of copper, out of the midst of the fire.

Each one went straight forward. Where the spirit was to go, they went. They didn’t turn when they went.

And they went H3212 (QalImpf) every one H376 straight H5676 forward: H6440 whither the spirit H7307 was to go, H3212 (QalInf) they went; H3212 (QalImpf) [and] they turned H5437 (NiphImpf) not when they went. H3212 (QalInf)

And each straight forward they go, whither the spirit is to go, they go, they turn not round in their going.

Wherever the spirit was to go, they went. The spirit was to go there. The wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

Whithersoever the spirit H7307 was to go, H3212 (QalInf) they went, H3212 (QalImpf) thither [was their] spirit H7307 to go; H3212 (QalInf) and the wheels H212 were lifted up H5375 (NiphImpf) over against H5980 them: for the spirit H7307 of the living creature H2416 [was] in the wheels. H212

Whither the spirit is to go, they go, thither the spirit is to go, and the wheels are lifted up over-against them, for a living spirit is in the wheels.

When those went, these went. When those stood, these stood. When those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

When those went, H3212 (QalInf) [these] went; H3212 (QalImpf) and when those stood, H5975 (QalInf) [these] stood; H5975 (QalImpf) and when those were lifted up H5375 (NiphInf) from the earth, H776 the wheels H212 were lifted up H5375 (NiphImpf) over against H5980 them: for the spirit H7307 of the living creature H2416 [was] in the wheels. In their going, they go; and in their standing, they stand; and in their being lifted up from off the earth, lifted up are the wheels over-against them; for a living spirit is in the wheels.

The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me.

And the spirit H7307 entered H935 (QalImpf) into me when he spake H1696 (PielPerf) unto me, and set H5975 (HiphImpf) me upon my feet, H7272 that I heard H8085 (QalImpf) him that spake H1696 (HithPtc) unto me.

And there doth come into me a spirit, when He hath spoken unto me, and it causeth me to stand on my feet, and I hear Him who is speaking unto me.

Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, saying, “Blessed be Yahweh’s glory from his place.”

Then the spirit H7307 took me up, H5375 (QalImpf) and I heard H8085 (QalImpf) behind H310 me a voice H6963 of a great H1419 rushing, H7494 [saying], Blessed H1288 (QalPasPtc) [be] the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 from his place. H4725

And lift me up doth a spirit, and I hear behind me a noise, a great rushing-‘Blessed is the honour of Jehovah from His place!’-

So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and Yahweh’s hand was strong on me.

So the spirit H7307 lifted me up, H5375 (QalPerf) and took me away, H3947 (QalImpf) and I went H3212 (QalImpf) in bitterness, H4751 in the heat H2534 of my spirit; H7307 but the hand H3027 of the Lord H3068 was strong H2388 (QalPerf) upon me.

And a spirit hath lifted me up, and doth take me away, and I go bitterly, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Jehovah on me is strong.

Then the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet. He spoke with me, and said to me, “Go, shut yourself inside your house.

And come into me doth a spirit, and causeth me to stand on my feet, and He speaketh with me, and saith unto me, ‘Go in, be shut up in the midst of thy house.

A third part you shall burn in the fire in the middle of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled. You shall take a third part, and strike with the sword around it. A third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.

A third part with fire thou dost burn in the midst of the city, at the fulness of the days of the siege; and thou hast taken the third part, thou dost smite with a weapon round about it; and the third part thou dost scatter to the wind, and a weapon I draw out after them.

Therefore the fathers will eat the sons within you, and the sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you; and I will scatter the whole remnant of you to all the winds.

Therefore fathers do eat sons in thy midst, And sons eat their fathers, And I have done in thee judgments, And have scattered all thy remnant to every wind.

A third part of you will die with the pestilence, and they will be consumed with famine within you. A third part will fall by the sword around you. A third part I will scatter to all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.

Thy third part-by pestilence they die, And by famine are consumed in thy midst, And the third part, by sword they fall round about thee, And the third part, to every wind I scatter, And a sword I draw out after them.

He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and the sky, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looks toward the north, where there was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.

And He putteth forth a form of a hand, and taketh me by a lock of my head, and lift me up doth a spirit between the earth and the heavens, and it bringeth me in to Jerusalem in visions of God, unto the opening of the inner gate that is facing the north, where is the seat of the figure of jealousy that is making jealous,

When they stood, these stood. When they mounted up, these mounted up with them; for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

Moreover the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward. Behold, twenty-five men were at the door of the gate; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

And lift me up doth a spirit, and it bringeth me in unto the east gate of the house of Jehovah, that is facing the east, and lo, at the opening of the gate twenty and five men, and I see in their midst Jaazaniah son of Azzur, and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, heads of the people.

Yahweh’s Spirit fell on me, and he said to me, “Speak, ‘Yahweh says: “Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

And fall upon me doth the Spirit of Jehovah, and He saith unto me, ‘Say: Thus said Jehovah: Rightly ye have said, O house of Israel, And the steps of your spirit I have known.

I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them. I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh,

And I will give H5414 (QalPerf) them one H259 heart, H3820 and I will put H5414 (QalImpf) a new H2319 spirit H7307 within H7130 you; and I will take H5493 (HiphPerf) the stony H68 heart H3820 out of their flesh, H1320 and will give H5414 (QalPerf) them an heart H3820 of flesh: H1320

And I have given to them one heart, And a new spirit I do give in your midst, And I have turned the heart of stone out of their flesh, And I have given to them a heart of flesh.

The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the captives. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

Afterwards the spirit H7307 took me up, H5375 (QalPerf) and brought H935 (HiphImpf) me in a vision H4758 by the Spirit H7307 of God H430 into Chaldea, H3778 to them of the captivity. H1473 So the vision H4758 that I had seen H7200 (QalPerf) went up H5927 (QalImpf) from me.

And a spirit hath lifted me up, and bringeth me in to Chaldea, unto the Removed, in a vision, by the Spirit of God, and go up from off me doth the vision that I have seen;

I will scatter toward every wind all who are around him to help him, and all his bands. I will draw out the sword after them.

‘And all who are round about him to help him, and all his bands, I do scatter to every wind, and a sword I draw out after them.

The Lord Yahweh says, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Woe H1945 unto the foolish H5036 prophets, H5030 that follow H1980 (QalActPtc) H310 their own spirit, H7307 and have seen H7200 (QalPerf) nothing!

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the prophets who are foolish, Who are going after their own spirit, And they have seen nothing.

Tell those who plaster it with whitewash that it will fall. There will be an overflowing shower; and you, great hailstones, will fall. A stormy wind will tear it.

Say H559 (QalImpv) unto them which daub H2902 (QalActPtc) [it] with untempered H8602 [morter], that it shall fall: H5307 (QalImpf) there shall be an overflowing H7857 (QalActPtc) shower; H1653 and ye, H859 O great hailstones, H417 H68 shall fall; H5307 (QalImpf) and a stormy H5591 wind H7307 shall rend H1234 (PielImpf) [it].

Say to those daubing with chalk-It falleth, There hath been an overflowing shower, And ye, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind doth rend,

“ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “I will even tear it with a stormy wind in my wrath. There will be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 I will even rend H1234 (PielPerf) [it] with a stormy H5591 wind H7307 in my fury; H2534 and there shall be an overflowing H7857 (QalActPtc) shower H1653 in mine anger, H639 and great hailstones H417 H68 in [my] fury H2534 to consume H3617 [it].

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury-to consume.
