This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you. Every male among you shall be circumcised.

και αυτη η διαθηκη ην διατηρησεις ανα μεσον εμου και υμων και ανα μεσον του σπερματος σου μετα σε εις τας γενεας αυτων περιτμηθησεται υμων παν αρσενικον

You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin. It will be a token of the covenant between me and you.

And ye shall circumcise H5243 (QalPerf) the flesh H1320 of your foreskin; H6190 and it shall be a token H226 of the covenant H1285 betwixt me and you.

He who is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he who is born in the house, or bought with money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring.

και παιδιον οκτω ημερων περιτμηθησεται υμιν παν αρσενικον εις τας γενεας υμων ο οικογενης της οικιας σου και ο αργυρωνητος απο παντος υιου αλλοτριου ος ουκ εστιν εκ του σπερματος σου

He who is born in your house, and he who is bought with your money, must be circumcised. My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

The uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”

και απεριτμητος αρσην ος ου περιτμηθησεται την σαρκα της ακροβυστιας αυτου τη ημερα τη ογδοη εξολεθρευθησεται η ψυχη εκεινη εκ του γενους αυτης οτι την διαθηκην μου διεσκεδασεν

Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house, and all who were bought with his money: every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the same day, as God had said to him.

Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

Ishmael, his son, was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

In the same day both Abraham and Ishmael, his son, were circumcised.

εν τω καιρω της ημερας εκεινης περιετμηθη αβρααμ και ισμαηλ ο υιος αυτου

All the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

Abraham circumcised his son, Isaac, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

περιετεμεν δε αβρααμ τον ισαακ τη ογδοη ημερα καθα ενετειλατο αυτω ο θεος

Only on this condition will we consent to you. If you will be as we are, that every male of you be circumcised,

But if you will not listen to us and be circumcised, then we will take our sister,^§ and we will be gone.”

Genesis 34:17 Hebrew has, literally, “daughter”

In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

και τη ημερα τη ογδοη περιτεμει την σαρκα της ακροβυστιας αυτου

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.

Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your offspring, to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

At that time, Yahweh said to Joshua, “Make flint knives, and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.”

Joshua made himself flint knives, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.

This is the reason Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt, who were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way, after they came out of Egypt.

ον δε τροπον περιεκαθαρεν ιησους τους υιους ισραηλ οσοι ποτε εγενοντο εν τη οδω και οσοι ποτε απεριτμητοι ησαν των εξεληλυθοτων εξ αιγυπτου

For all the people who came out were circumcised; but all the people who were born in the wilderness along the way as they came out of Egypt had not been circumcised.

παντας τουτους περιετεμεν ιησους

Their children, whom he raised up in their place, were circumcised by Joshua, for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.

And their children, H1121 [whom] he raised up H6965 (HiphPerf) in their stead, them Joshua H3091 circumcised: H4135 (QalPerf) for they were uncircumcised, H6189 because they had not circumcised H4135 (QalPerf) them by the way. H1870

αντι δε τουτων αντικατεστησεν τους υιους αυτων ους ιησους περιετεμεν δια το αυτους γεγενησθαι κατα την οδον απεριτμητους

When they were done circumcising the whole nation, they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed.

περιτμηθεντες δε ησυχιαν ειχον αυτοθι καθημενοι εν τη παρεμβολη εως υγιασθησαν

Let them vanish like water that flows away. When they draw the bow, let their arrows be made blunt.

In the morning it sprouts and springs up. By evening, it is withered and dry.

^[89:6] το πρωι ανθησαι και παρελθοι το εσπερας αποπεσοι σκληρυνθειη και ξηρανθειη

All the nations surrounded me, but in Yahweh’s name I cut them off.

All nations H1471 compassed me about: H5437 (QalPerf) but in the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 will I destroy H4135 (HiphImpf) them.

^[117:10] παντα τα εθνη εκυκλωσαν με και τω ονοματι κυριου ημυναμην αυτους

They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In Yahweh’s name I indeed cut them off.

They compassed me about; H5437 (QalPerf) yea, they compassed me about: H5437 (QalPerf) but in the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 I will destroy H4135 (HiphImpf) them.

^[117:11] κυκλωσαντες εκυκλωσαν με και τω ονοματι κυριου ημυναμην αυτους

They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In Yahweh’s name I cut them off.

They compassed me about H5437 (QalPerf) like bees; H1682 they are quenched H1846 (PualPerf) as the fire H784 of thorns: H6975 for in the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 I will destroy H4135 (HiphImpf) them.

^[117:12] εκυκλωσαν με ωσει μελισσαι κηριον και εξεκαυθησαν ωσει πυρ εν ακανθαις και τω ονοματι κυριου ημυναμην αυτους

Circumcise yourselves to Yahweh, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

περιτμηθητε τω θεω υμων και περιτεμεσθε την σκληροκαρδιαν υμων ανδρες ιουδα και οι κατοικουντες ιερουσαλημ μη εξελθη ως πυρ ο θυμος μου και εκκαυθησεται και ουκ εσται ο σβεσων απο προσωπου πονηριας επιτηδευματων υμων

“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their flesh:
