[1]
[2] Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
[3] I call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised;
and I am saved from my enemies.
[4] The cords of death surrounded me.
The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
[5] The cords of Sheolⓘ were around me.
The snares of death came on me.
[6] In my distress I called on Yahweh,
and cried to my God.
He heard my voice out of his temple.
My cry before him came into his ears.
[7] Then the earth shook and trembled.
The foundations also of the mountains quaked and were shaken,
because he was angry.
[8] Smoke went out of his nostrils.
Consuming fire came out of his mouth.
Coals were kindled by it.
[9] He bowed the heavens also, and came down.
Thick darkness was under his feet.
[10] He rode on a cherub, and flew.
Yes, he soared on the wings of the wind.
[11] He made darkness his hiding place, his pavilion around him,
darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
[12] At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed,
hailstones and coals of fire.
[13] Yahweh also thundered in the sky.
The Most High uttered his voice:
hailstones and coals of fire.
[14] He sent out his arrows, and scattered them.
He routed them with great lightning bolts.
[15] Then the channels of waters appeared.
The foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, Yahweh,
at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.
[16] He sent from on high.
He took me.
He drew me out of many waters.
[17] He delivered me from my strong enemy,
from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me.
[18] They came on me in the day of my calamity,
but Yahweh was my support.
[19] He brought me out also into a large place.
He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
[20] Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness.
According to the cleanness of my hands, he has recompensed me.
[21] For I have kept the ways of Yahweh,
and have not wickedly departed from my God.
[22] For all his ordinances were before me.
I didn’t put away his statutes from me.
[23] I was also blameless with him.
I kept myself from my iniquity.
[24] Therefore Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
[25] With the merciful you will show yourself merciful.
With the perfect man, you will show yourself perfect.
[26] With the pure, you will show yourself pure.
With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.
[27] For you will save the afflicted people,
but the arrogant eyes you will bring down.
[28] For you will light my lamp, Yahweh.
My God will light up my darkness.
[29] For by you, I advance through a troop.
By my God, I leap over a wall.
[30] As for God, his way is perfect.
Yahweh’s word is tried.
He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
[31] For who is God, except Yahweh?
Who is a rock, besides our God,
[32] the God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect?
[33] He makes my feet like deer’s feet,
and sets me on my high places.
[34] He teaches my hands to war,
so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.
[35] You have also given me the shield of your salvation.
Your right hand sustains me.
Your gentleness has made me great.
[36] You have enlarged my steps under me,
My feet have not slipped.
[37] I will pursue my enemies, and overtake them.
I won’t turn away until they are consumed.
[38] I will strike them through, so that they will not be able to rise.
They shall fall under my feet.
[39] For you have armed me with strength to the battle.
You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
[40] You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me,
that I might cut off those who hate me.
[41] They cried, but there was no one to save;
even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.
[42] Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind.
I cast them out as the mire of the streets.
[43] You have delivered me from the strivings of the people.
You have made me the head of the nations.
A people whom I have not known shall serve me.
[44] As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me.
The foreigners shall submit themselves to me.
[45] The foreigners shall fade away,
and shall come trembling out of their strongholds.
[46] Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock.
Exalted be the God of my salvation,
[47] even the God who executes vengeance for me,
and subdues peoples under me.
[48] He rescues me from my enemies.
Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me.
You deliver me from the violent man.
[49] Therefore I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations,
and will sing praises to your name.
[50] He gives great deliverance to his king,
and shows loving kindness to his anointed,
to David and to his offspring,§ forever more.

To the chief Musician,H5329(PielPtc) [A Psalm] of David,H1732 the servantH5650 of the Lord,H3068 who spakeH1696(PielPerf) unto the LordH3068 the wordsH1697 of this songH7892 in the dayH3117 [that] the LordH3068 deliveredH5337(HiphPerf) him from the handH3709 of all his enemies,H341(QalActPtc) and from the handH3027 of Saul:H7586 And he said,H559(QalImpf)
I will loveH7355(QalImpf) thee, O Lord,H3068 my strength.H2391 [2] The LordH3068 [is] my rock,H5553 and my fortress,H4686 and my deliverer;H6403(PielPtc) my God,H410 my strength,H6697 in whom I will trust;H2620(QalImpf) my buckler,H4043 and the hornH7161 of my salvation,H3468 [and] my high tower.H4869 [3] I will callH7121(QalImpf) upon the Lord,H3068 [who is worthy] to be praised:H1984(PualPtc) so shall I be savedH3467(NiphImpf) from mine enemies.H341(QalActPtc) [4] The sorrowsH2256 of deathH4194 compassedH661(QalPerf) me, and the floodsH5158 of ungodly menH1100 made me afraid.H1204(PielImpf) [5] The sorrowsH2256 of hellH7585 compassed me about:H5437(QalPerf) the snaresH4170 of deathH4194 preventedH6923(PielPerf) me. [6] In my distressH6862 I calledH7121(QalImpf) upon the Lord,H3068 and criedH7768(PielImpf) unto my God:H430 he heardH8085(QalImpf) my voiceH6963 out of his temple,H1964 and my cryH7775 cameH935(QalImpf) beforeH6440 him, [even] into his ears.H241 [7] Then the earthH776 shookH1607(QalImpf) and trembled;H7493(QalImpf) the foundationsH4146 also of the hillsH2022 movedH7264(QalImpf) and were shaken,H1607(HithImpf) because he was wroth.H2734(QalPerf) [8] There went upH5927(QalPerf) a smokeH6227 out of his nostrils,H639 and fireH784 out of his mouthH6310 devoured:H398(QalImpf) coalsH1513 were kindledH1197(QalPerf) by it. [9] He bowedH5186(QalImpf) the heavensH8064 also, and came down:H3381(QalImpf) and darknessH6205 [was] under his feet.H7272 [10] And he rodeH7392(QalImpf) upon a cherub,H3742 and did fly:H5774(QalImpf) yea, he did flyH1675(QalImpf) upon the wingsH3671 of the wind.H7307 [11] He madeH7896(QalImpf) darknessH2822 his secret place;H5643 his pavilionH5521 round aboutH5439 him [were] darkH2824 watersH4325 [and] thick cloudsH5645 of the skies.H7834 [12] At the brightnessH5051 [that was] before him his thick cloudsH5645 passed,H5674(QalPerf) hailH1259 [stones] and coalsH1513 of fire.H784 [13] The LordH3068 also thunderedH7481(HiphImpf) in the heavens,H8064 and the HighestH5945 gaveH5414(QalImpf) his voice;H6963 hailH1259 [stones] and coalsH1513 of fire.H784 [14] Yea, he sent outH7971(QalImpf) his arrows,H2671 and scatteredH6327(HiphImpf) them; and he shot outH7232(QalPerf) lightnings,H1300 and discomfitedH2000(QalImpf) them. [15] Then the channelsH650 of watersH4325 were seen,H7200(NiphImpf) and the foundationsH4146 of the worldH8398 were discoveredH1540(NiphImpf) at thy rebuke,H1606 O Lord,H3068 at the blastH5397 of the breathH7307 of thy nostrils.H639 [16] He sentH7971(QalImpf) from above,H4791 he tookH3947(QalImpf) me, he drewH4871(HiphImpf) me out of manyH7227 waters.H4325 [17] He deliveredH5337(HiphImpf) me from my strongH5794 enemy,H341(QalActPtc) and from them which hatedH8130(QalActPtc) me: for they were too strongH553(QalPerf) for me. [18] They preventedH6923(PielImpf) me in the dayH3117 of my calamity:H343 but the LordH3068 was my stay.H4937 [19] He brought me forthH3318(HiphImpf) also into a large place;H4800 he deliveredH2502(PielImpf) me, because he delightedH2654(QalPerf) in me. [20] The LordH3068 rewardedH1580(QalImpf) me according to my righteousness;H6664 according to the cleannessH1252 of my handsH3027 hath he recompensedH7725(HiphImpf) me. [21] For I have keptH8104(QalPerf) the waysH1870 of the Lord,H3068 and have not wickedly departedH7561(QalPerf) from my God.H430 [22] For all his judgmentsH4941 [were] before me, and I did not put awayH5493(HiphImpf) his statutesH2708 from me. [23] I was also uprightH8549 before him, and I keptH8104(HithImpf) myself from mine iniquity.H5771 [24] Therefore hath the LordH3068 recompensedH7725(HiphImpf) me according to my righteousness,H6664 according to the cleannessH1252 of my handsH3027 in his eyesight.H5869 [25] With the mercifulH2623 thou wilt shew thyself merciful;H2616(HithImpf) with an uprightH8549 manH1399 thou wilt shew thyself upright;H8552(HithImpf) [26] With the pureH1305(NiphPtc) thou wilt shew thyself pure;H1305(HithImpf) and with the frowardH6141 thou wilt shew thyself froward.H6617(HithImpf) [27] For thou wilt saveH3467(HiphImpf) the afflictedH6041 people;H5971 but wilt bring downH8213(HiphImpf) highH7311(QalActPtc) looks.H5869 [28] For thou wilt lightH215(HiphImpf) my candle:H5216 the LordH3068 my GodH430 will enlightenH5050(HiphImpf) my darkness.H2822 [29] For by thee I have run throughH7323(QalImpf) a troop;H1416 and by my GodH430 have I leaped overH1801(PielImpf) a wall.H7791 [30] [As for] God,H410 his wayH1870 [is] perfect:H8549 the wordH565 of the LordH3068 is tried:H6884(QalPasPtc) he [is] a bucklerH4043 to all those that trustH2620(QalActPtc) in him. [31] For who [is] GodH433 saveH1107 the Lord?H3068 or who [is] a rockH6697 saveH2108 our God?H430 [32] [It is] GodH410 that girdethH247(PielPtc) me with strength,H2428 and makethH5414(QalImpf) my wayH1870 perfect.H8549 [33] He makethH7737(PielPtc) my feetH7272 like hinds’H355 [feet], and settethH5975(HiphImpf) me upon my high places.H1116 [34] He teachethH3925(PielPtc) my handsH3027 to war,H4421 so that a bowH7198 of steelH5154 is brokenH5181(PielPerf) by mine arms.H2220 [35] Thou hast also givenH5414(QalImpf) me the shieldH4043 of thy salvation:H3468 and thy right handH3225 hath holden me up,H5582(QalImpf) and thy gentlenessH6037 hath made me great.H7235(HiphImpf) [36] Thou hast enlargedH7337(HiphImpf) my stepsH6806 under me, that my feetH7166 did not slip.H4571(QalPerf) [37] I have pursuedH7291(QalImpf) mine enemies,H341(QalActPtc) and overtakenH5381(HiphImpf) them: neither did I turn againH7725(QalImpf) till they were consumed.H3615(PielInf) [38] I have woundedH4272(QalImpf) them that they were not ableH3201(QalImpf) to rise:H6965(QalInf) they are fallenH5307(QalImpf) under my feet.H7272 [39] For thou hast girdedH247(PielImpf) me with strengthH2428 unto the battle:H4421 thou hast subduedH3766(HiphImpf) under me those that rose upH6965(QalPtc) against me. [40] Thou hast also givenH5414(QalPerf) me the necksH6203 of mine enemies;H341(QalActPtc) that I might destroyH6789(HiphImpf) them that hateH8130(PielPtc) me. [41] They cried,H7768(PielImpf) but [there was] none to saveH3467(HiphPtc) [them: even] unto the Lord,H3068 but he answeredH6030(QalPerf) them not. [42] Then did I beatH7833(QalImpf) them small as the dustH6083 beforeH6440 the wind:H7307 I did cast them outH7324(HiphImpf) as the dirtH2916 in the streets.H2351 [43] Thou hast deliveredH6403(PielImpf) me from the strivingsH7379 of the people;H5971 [and] thou hast madeH7760(QalImpf) me the headH7218 of the heathen:H1471 a peopleH5971 [whom] I have not knownH3045(QalPerf) shall serveH5647(QalImpf) me. [44] As soon as they hearH8088 of me, they shall obeyH8085(NiphImpf) me: the strangersH1121 shall submitH3584(PielImpf) themselves unto me. [45] The strangersH1121 shall fade away,H5034(QalImpf) and be afraidH2727(QalImpf) out of their close places.H4526 [46] The LordH3068 liveth;H2416 and blessedH1288(QalPasPtc) [be] my rock;H6697 and let the GodH430 of my salvationH3468 be exalted.H7311(QalImpf) [47] [It is] GodH410 that avengethH5414(QalActPtc) me, and subduethH1696(HiphImpf) the peopleH5971 under me. [48] He deliverethH6403(PielPtc) me from mine enemies:H341(QalActPtc) yea, thou liftest me upH7311(PoleImpf) above those that rise upH6965(QalPtc) against me: thou hast deliveredH5337(HiphImpf) me from the violentH2555 man.H376 [49] Therefore will I give thanksH3034(HiphImpf) unto thee, O Lord,H3068 among the heathen,H1471 and sing praisesH2167(PielImpf) unto thy name.H8034 [50] GreatH1431(HiphPtc) deliveranceH3444 giveth he to his king;H4428 and shewethH6213(QalActPtc) mercyH2617 to his anointed,H4899 to David,H1732 and to his seedH2233 forH5704 evermore.H5769Byzantine Greek New Testament
