Then Yahweh appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for myself for a house of sacrifice.

And Jehovah appeareth unto Solomon by night, and saith to him, ‘I have heard thy prayer, and have fixed on this place to Me for a house of sacrifice.

When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,

and I have given no credence to their words, till that I have come, and mine eyes see, and lo, there hath not been declared to me the half of the abundance of thy wisdom-thou hast added unto the report that I heard.

The king used algum tree wood to make terraces for Yahweh’s house and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers. There were none like these seen before in the land of Judah.

And the king maketh the algum-trees staircases for the house of Jehovah, and for the house of the king, and harps and psalteries for singers; and there have been none seen like these before in the land of Judah.

When all Israel saw that the king didn’t listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, “What portion do we have in David? We don’t have an inheritance in the son of Jesse! Every man to your tents, Israel! Now see to your own house, David.” So all Israel departed to their tents.

And all Israel have seen that the king hath not hearkened to them, and the people send back to the king, saying, ‘What portion have we in David? yea, there is no inheritance in a son of Jesse; each to thy tents, O Israel; now, see thy house-David,’ and all Israel go to their tents.

When Yahweh saw that they humbled themselves, Yahweh’s word came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath won’t be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

And when Jehovah seeth that they have been humbled, a word of Jehovah hath been unto Shemaiah, saying, ‘They have been humbled; I do not destroy them, and I have given to them as a little thing for an escape, and I pour not out My fury in Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak;

And at that time hath Hanani the seer come in unto Asa king of Judah, and saith unto him, ‘Because of thy leaning on the king of Aram, and thou hast not leaned on Jehovah thy God, therefore hath the force of the king of Aram escaped from thy hand.

Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’ ”

Micaiah said, “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”

And Micaiah saith, ‘Lo, thou dost see in that day, that thou dost enter into the innermost chamber to be hidden.’

When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.

yea, it cometh to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that it hath not been the king of Israel-they turn back from after him.

and said to the judges, “Consider what you do, for you don’t judge for man, but for Yahweh; and he is with you in the judgment.

and saith unto the judges, ‘See what ye are doing-for not for man do ye judge, but for Jehovah, who is with you in the matter of judgment;

You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for Yahweh is with you.’ ”

Ye shall not [need] to fight H3898 (NiphInf) in this H2063 [battle]: set H3320 (HithImpv) yourselves, stand H5975 (QalImpv) ye [still], and see H7200 (QalImpv) the salvation H3444 of the Lord H3068 with you, O Judah H3063 and Jerusalem: H3389 fear H3372 (QalImpf) not, nor be dismayed; H2865 (NiphImpf) to morrow H4279 go out H3318 (QalImpv) against H6440 them: for the Lord H3068 [will be] with you.

Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem-be not afraid nor fear ye-to-morrow go out before them, and Jehovah is with you.’

He returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

And he returned H7725 (QalImpf) to be healed H7495 (HithInf) in Jezreel H3157 because of the wounds H4347 which were given H5221 (HiphPerf) him at Ramah, H7414 when he fought H3898 (NiphInf) with Hazael H2371 king H4428 of Syria. and he turneth back to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds with which they had smitten him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram. And Azariah son of Jehoram king of Judah hath gone down to see Jehoram son of Ahab, in Jezreel, for he is sick;

Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal offspring of the house of Judah.

But when Athaliah H6271 the mother H517 of Ahaziah H274 saw H7200 (QalPerf) that her son H1121 was dead, H4191 (QalPerf) she arose H6965 (QalImpf) and destroyed H1696 (PielImpf) all the seed H2233 royal H4467 of the house H1004 of Judah. H3063

And Athaliah mother of Ahaziah hath seen that her son is dead, and she riseth and destroyeth the whole seed of the kingdom of the house of Judah.

Then she looked, and behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, with the captains and the trumpeters by the king. All the people of the land rejoiced and blew trumpets. The singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”

and seeth, and lo, the king is standing by his pillar in the entrance, and the heads, and the trumpets are by the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing and shouting with trumpets, and the singers with instruments of song, and the teachers, to praise, and Athaliah rendeth her garments, and saith, ‘Conspiracy, conspiracy.’

Whenever the chest was brought to the king’s officers by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the chief priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to its place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.

And it cometh to pass, at the time one bringeth in the chest for the inspection of the king by the hand of the Levites, and at their seeing that the money is abundant, that a scribe of the king hath come in, and an officer of the head-priest, and they empty the chest, and take it up and turn it back unto its place; thus they have done day by day, and gather money in abundance.

Thus Joash the king didn’t remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said, “May Yahweh look at it, and repay it.”

Thus Joash H3101 the king H4428 remembered H2142 (QalPerf) not the kindness H2617 which Jehoiada H3077 his father H1 had done H6213 (QalPerf) to him, but slew H2026 (QalImpf) his son. and Joash the king hath not remembered the kindness that Jehoiada his father did with him, and slayeth his son, and in his death he said, ‘Jehovah doth see, and require.’

Then Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisers, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come! Let’s look one another in the face.”

Then Amaziah H558 king H4428 of Judah H3063 took advice, H3289 (NiphImpf) and sent H7971 (QalImpf) to Joash, H3101 the son H1121 of Jehoahaz, H3059 the son H1121 of Jehu, H3058 king H4428 of Israel, H3478 saying, H559 (QalInf) Come, H3212 (QalImpv) let us see one another H7200 (HithImpf) in the face. And Amaziah king of Judah taketh counsel, and sendeth unto Joash son of Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying,

So Joash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

and go up doth Joash king of Israel, and they look one another in the face, he and Amaziah king of Judah, in Beth-Shemesh, that is Judah’s,

He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the vision of God; and as long as he sought Yahweh, God made him prosper.

And he sought H1875 (QalInf) God H430 in the days H3117 of Zechariah, H2148 who had understanding H995 (HiphPtc) in the visions H7200 (QalInf) of God: H430 and as long as H3117 he sought H1875 (QalInf) the Lord, H3068 God H430 made him to prosper. H6743 (HiphPerf)

and he is as one seeking God in the days of Zechariah who hath understanding in visions of God: and in the days of his seeking Jehovah, God hath caused him to prosper.

Therefore Yahweh’s wrath was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to be tossed back and forth, to be an astonishment and a hissing, as you see with your eyes.

Wherefore the wrath H7110 of the Lord H3068 was upon Judah H3063 and Jerusalem, H3389 and he hath delivered H5414 (QalImpf) them to trouble, H2189 (Qere) H2113 to astonishment, H8047 and to hissing, H8322 as ye see H7200 (QalActPtc) with your eyes. H5869

and the wrath of Jehovah is on Judah and Jerusalem, and He giveth them for a trembling, for an astonishment, and for a hissing, as ye are seeing with your eyes.

Don’t be like your fathers and like your brothers, who trespassed against Yahweh, the God of their fathers, so that he gave them up to desolation, as you see.

And be not ye like your fathers, H1 and like your brethren, H251 which trespassed H4603 (QalPerf) against the Lord H3068 God H430 of their fathers, H1 [who] therefore gave them up H5414 (QalImpf) to desolation, H8047 as ye see. H7200 (QalActPtc)

and do not be like your fathers, and like your brethren, who trespassed against Jehovah, God of their fathers, and He giveth them to desolation, as ye do see.

When Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed Yahweh and his people Israel.

And when Hezekiah H3169 and the princes H8269 came H935 (QalImpf) and saw H7200 (QalImpf) the heaps, H6194 they blessed H1288 (PielImpf) the Lord, H3068 and his people H5971 Israel. H3478

And Hezekiah and the heads come in and see the heaps, and bless Jehovah and His people Israel,

When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that he was planning to fight against Jerusalem,

And when Hezekiah H3169 saw H7200 (QalImpf) that Sennacherib H5576 was come, H935 (QalPerf) and that he was purposed H6440 to fight H4421 against Jerusalem, H3389

And Hezekiah seeth that Sennacherib hath come, and his face is to the battle against Jerusalem,

“Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes won’t see all the evil that I will bring on this place and on its inhabitants.” ’ ” They brought back this message to the king.

Behold, I will gather H622 (QalActPtc) thee to thy fathers, H1 and thou shalt be gathered H622 (NiphPerf) to thy grave H6913 in peace, H7965 neither shall thine eyes H5869 see H7200 (QalImpf) all the evil H7451 that I will bring H935 (HiphPtc) upon this place, H4725 and upon the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of the same. So they brought H7725 the king H4428 word H1697 again. H7725 (HiphImpf)

Lo, I am gathering thee unto thy fathers, and thou hast been gathered unto thy graves in peace, and thine eyes do not look on all the evil that I am bringing upon this place, and upon its inhabitants;’ and they bring the king back word.

But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ households, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy,

and all the people have shouted-a great shout-in giving praise to Jehovah, because the house of Jehovah hath been founded.

Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let’s build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we won’t be disgraced.”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) I unto them, Ye see H7200 (QalActPtc) the distress H7451 that we [are] in, how Jerusalem H3389 [lieth] waste, H2720 and the gates H8179 thereof are burned H3341 (NiphPerf) with fire: H784 come, H3212 (QalImpv) and let us build up H1129 (QalImpf) the wall H2346 of Jerusalem, H3389 that we be no more a reproach. and I say unto them, ‘Ye are seeing the evil that we are in, in that Jerusalem is waste, and its gates have been burnt with fire; come and we build the wall of Jerusalem, and we are not any more a reproach.’

Our adversaries said, “They will not know or see, until we come in among them and kill them, and cause the work to cease.”

And our adversaries say, ‘They do not know, nor see, till that we come in to their midst, and have slain them, and caused the work to cease.’

I looked, and rose up, and said to the nobles, to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them! Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”

And I looked, H7200 (QalImpf) and rose up, H6965 (QalImpf) and said H559 (QalImpf) unto the nobles, H2715 and to the rulers, H5461 and to the rest H3499 of the people, H5971 Be not ye afraid H3372 (QalImpf) of them: H6440 remember H2142 (QalImpv) the Lord, H136 [which is] great H1419 and terrible, H3372 (NiphPtc) and fight H3898 (NiphImpv) for your brethren, H251 your sons, H1121 and your daughters, H1323 your wives, H802 and your houses. And I see, and rise up, and say unto the freemen, and unto the prefects, and unto the rest of the people, ‘Be not afraid of them; the Lord, the great and the fearful, remember ye, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.’

When all our enemies heard of it, all the nations that were around us were afraid, and they lost their confidence; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.

And it came to pass, that when all our enemies H341 (QalActPtc) heard H8085 (QalPerf) [thereof], and all the heathen H1471 that [were] about us H5439 saw H7200 (QalImpf) [these things], they were much H3966 cast down H5307 (QalImpf) in their own eyes: H5869 for they perceived H3045 (QalImpf) that this work H4399 was wrought H6213 (NiphPerf) of our God. and it cometh to pass, when all our enemies have heard, and all the nations who are round about us see, that they fall greatly in their own eyes, and know that by our God hath this work been done.

“You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea,

In those days I saw some men treading wine presses on the Sabbath in Judah, bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day; and I testified against them in the day in which they sold food.

In those days I have seen in Judah those treading wine-vats on sabbath, and bringing in the sheaves, and lading on the asses, and also, wine, grapes, and figs, and every burden, yea, they are bringing in to Jerusalem on the sabbath-day, and I testify in the day of their selling provision.

In those days I also saw the Jews who had married women of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab;

Also, in those days, I have seen the Jews who have settled women of Ashdod, of Ammon, of Moab.

He displayed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honor of his excellent majesty many days, even one hundred eighty days.

When he shewed H7200 (HiphInf) the riches H6239 of his glorious H3519 kingdom H4438 and the honour H3366 of his excellent H8597 majesty H1420 many H7227 days, H3117 [even] an hundred H3967 and fourscore H8084 days. H3117

in his shewing the wealth of the honour of his kingdom, and the glory of the beauty of his greatness, many days-eighty and a hundred days.

to bring Vashti the queen before the king wearing the royal crown, to show the people and the princes her beauty; for she was beautiful.

and he who is near unto him is Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, Memucan, seven heads of Persia and Media seeing the face of the king, who are sitting first in the kingdom-

The maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness from him. He quickly gave her cosmetics and her portions of food, and the seven choice maidens who were to be given her out of the king’s house. He moved her and her maidens to the best place in the women’s house.

and the young woman is good in his eyes, and she receiveth kindness before him, and he hasteneth her purifications and her portions-to give to her, and the seven young women who are provided-to give to her, from the house of the king, and he changeth her and her young women to a good place in the house of the women.

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, came to go in to the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the keeper of the women, advised. Esther obtained favor in the sight of all those who looked at her.

Now when the turn H8447 of Esther, H635 the daughter H1323 of Abihail H32 the uncle H1730 of Mordecai, H4782 who had taken H3947 (QalPerf) her for his daughter, H1323 was come H5060 (HiphInf) to go in H935 (QalInf) unto the king, H4428 she required H1245 (PielPerf) nothing H1697 but what Hegai H1896 the king’s H4428 chamberlain, H5631 the keeper H8104 (QalActPtc) of the women, H802 appointed. And in the drawing nigh of the turn of Esther-daughter of Abihail, uncle of Mordecai, whom he had taken to him for a daughter-to come in unto the king, she hath not sought a thing except that which Hegai eunuch of the king, keeper of the women, saith, and Esther is receiving grace in the eyes of all seeing her.

Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily to him, and he didn’t listen to them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s reason would stand; for he had told them that he was a Jew.

And it cometh to pass, in their speaking unto him, day by day, and he hath not hearkened unto them, that they declare it to Haman, to see whether the words of Mordecai do stand, for he hath declared to them that he is a Jew.

When Haman saw that Mordecai didn’t bow down nor pay him homage, Haman was full of wrath.

And Haman seeth that Mordecai is not bowing and doing obeisance to him, and Haman is full of fury,

He also gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given out in Susa to destroy them, to show it to Esther, and to declare it to her, and to urge her to go in to the king to make supplication to him, and to make request before him for her people.

and the copy of the writing of the law that had been given in Shushan to destroy them he hath given to him, to shew Esther, and to declare it to her, and to lay a charge on her to go in unto the king, to make supplication to him, and to seek from before him, for her people.

When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter.

And it was so, when the king H4428 saw H7200 (QalInf) Esther H635 the queen H4436 standing H5975 (QalActPtc) in the court, H2691 [that] she obtained H5375 (QalPerf) favour H2580 in his sight: H5869 and the king H4428 held out H3447 (HiphImpf) to Esther H635 the golden H2091 sceptre H8275 that [was] in his hand. and it cometh to pass, at the king’s seeing Esther the queen standing in the court, she hath received grace in his eyes, and the king holdeth out to Esther the golden sceptre that is in his hand, and Esther draweth near, and toucheth the top of the sceptre.

Then Haman went out that day joyful and glad of heart, but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he didn’t stand up nor move for him, he was filled with wrath against Mordecai.

And Haman goeth forth on that day rejoicing and glad in heart, and at Haman’s seeing Mordecai in the gate of the king, and he hath not risen nor moved for him, then is Haman full of fury against Mordecai.

Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.”

and all this is not profitable to me, during all the time that I am seeing Mordecai the Jew sitting in the gate of the king.’
