Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!”

λαλησον τοις υιοις ισραηλ και αποστρεψαντες στρατοπεδευσατωσαν απεναντι της επαυλεως ανα μεσον μαγδωλου και ανα μεσον της θαλασσης εξ εναντιας βεελσεπφων ενωπιον αυτων στρατοπεδευσεις επι της θαλασσης

Isn’t this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

He said to them, “This is that which Yahweh has spoken, ‘Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to Yahweh. Bake that which you want to bake, and boil that which you want to boil; and all that remains over lay up for yourselves to be kept until the morning.’”

All the people answered together, and said, “All that Yahweh has spoken we will do.” Moses reported the words of the people to Yahweh.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

εγινοντο δε αι φωναι της σαλπιγγος προβαινουσαι ισχυροτεραι σφοδρα μωυσης ελαλει ο δε θεος απεκρινατο αυτω φωνη

God^§ spoke all these words, saying,

Yahweh said to Moses, “This is what you shall tell the children of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

But if you indeed listen to his voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.

Exodus 23:22 Or, I will afflict them that afflict thee

He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “We will do all that Yahweh has said, and be obedient.”

“Speak to the children of Israel, that they take an offering for me. From everyone whose heart makes him willing you shall take my offering.

It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before Yahweh, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

“Speak also to the children of Israel, saying, ‘Most certainly you shall keep my Sabbaths; for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies you.

και συ συνταξον τοις υιοις ισραηλ λεγων ορατε και τα σαββατα μου φυλαξεσθε σημειον εστιν παρ εμοι και εν υμιν εις τας γενεας υμων ινα γνωτε οτι εγω κυριος ο αγιαζων υμας

When he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, he gave Moses the two tablets of the covenant, stone tablets, written with God’s finger.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, “Go, get down; for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your offspring^§ as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

So Yahweh turned away from the evil which he said he would do to his people.

και ιλασθη κυριος περι της κακιας ης ειπεν ποιησαι τον λαον αυτου

He said to them, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’”

Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

Yahweh spoke to Moses, “Depart, go up from here, you and the people that you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’

When Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the door of the Tent, and Yahweh spoke with Moses.

ως δ αν εισηλθεν μωυσης εις την σκηνην κατεβαινεν ο στυλος της νεφελης και ιστατο επι την θυραν της σκηνης και ελαλει μωυση

Yahweh spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart from the Tent.

And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielPerf) unto Moses H4872 face H6440 to face, H6440 as a man H376 speaketh H1696 (PielImpf) unto his friend. H7453 And he turned again H7725 (QalPerf) into the camp: H4264 but his servant H8334 (PielPtc) Joshua, H3091 the son H1121 of Nun, H5126 a young man, H5288 departed H4185 (HiphImpf) not out H8432 of the tabernacle. και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην ενωπιος ενωπιω ως ει τις λαλησει προς τον εαυτου φιλον και απελυετο εις την παρεμβολην ο δε θεραπων ιησους υιος ναυη νεος ουκ εξεπορευετο εκ της σκηνης

Yahweh said to Moses, “I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 I will do H6213 (QalImpf) this thing H1697 also that thou hast spoken: H1696 (PielPerf) for thou hast found H4672 (QalPerf) grace H2580 in my sight, H5869 and I know H3045 (QalImpf) thee by name. H8034

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην και τουτον σοι τον λογον ον ειρηκας ποιησω ευρηκας γαρ χαριν ενωπιον μου και οιδα σε παρα παντας

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mountain, Moses didn’t know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.

And it came to pass, when Moses H4872 came down H3381 (QalInf) from mount H2022 Sinai H5514 with the two H8147 tables H3871 of testimony H5715 in Moses’ H4872 hand, H3027 when he came down H3381 (QalInf) from the mount, H2022 that Moses H4872 wist H3045 (QalPerf) not that the skin H5785 of his face H6440 shone H7160 (QalPerf) while he talked H1696 (PielInf) with him.

ως δε κατεβαινεν μωυσης εκ του ορους και αι δυο πλακες επι των χειρων μωυση καταβαινοντος δε αυτου εκ του ορους μωυσης ουκ ηδει οτι δεδοξασται η οψις του χρωματος του προσωπου αυτου εν τω λαλειν αυτον αυτω

Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them.

And Moses H4872 called H7121 (QalImpf) unto them; and Aaron H175 and all the rulers H5387 of the congregation H5712 returned H7725 (QalImpf) unto him: and Moses H4872 talked H1696 (PielImpf) with them.

και εκαλεσεν αυτους μωυσης και επεστραφησαν προς αυτον ααρων και παντες οι αρχοντες της συναγωγης και ελαλησεν αυτοις μωυσης

Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them all the commandments that Yahweh had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.

And afterward H310 all the children H1121 of Israel H3478 came nigh: H5066 (NiphPerf) and he gave them in commandment H6680 (PielImpf) all that the Lord H3068 had spoken H1696 (PielPerf) with him in mount H2022 Sinai. H5514

και μετα ταυτα προσηλθον προς αυτον παντες οι υιοι ισραηλ και ενετειλατο αυτοις παντα οσα ελαλησεν κυριος προς αυτον εν τω ορει σινα

When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

And till Moses H4872 had done H3615 (PielImpf) speaking H1696 (PielInf) with them, he put H5414 (QalImpf) a vail H4533 on his face. H6440

και επειδη κατεπαυσεν λαλων προς αυτους επεθηκεν επι το προσωπον αυτου καλυμμα

But when Moses went in before Yahweh to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

But when Moses H4872 went in H935 (QalInf) before H6440 the Lord H3068 to speak H1696 (PielInf) with him, he took H5493 the vail H4533 off, H5493 (HiphImpf) until he came out. ηνικα δ αν εισεπορευετο μωυσης εναντι κυριου λαλειν αυτω περιηρειτο το καλυμμα εως του εκπορευεσθαι και εξελθων ελαλει πασιν τοις υιοις ισραηλ οσα ενετειλατο αυτω κυριος

The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone; so Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 saw H7200 (QalPerf) the face H6440 of Moses, H4872 that the skin H5785 of Moses’ H4872 face H6440 shone: H7160 (QalPerf) and Moses H4872 put H7725 the vail H4533 upon his face H6440 again, H7725 (HiphPerf) until he went H935 (QalInf) in to speak H1696 (PielInf) with him.

και ειδον οι υιοι ισραηλ το προσωπον μωυση οτι δεδοξασται και περιεθηκεν μωυσης καλυμμα επι το προσωπον εαυτου εως αν εισελθη συλλαλειν αυτω

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
