ει ειρηνικοι εστε αδελφος υμων εις κατασχεθητω εν τη φυλακη αυτοι δε βαδισατε και απαγαγετε τον αγορασμον της σιτοδοσιας υμων

They loaded their donkeys with their grain, and departed from there.

ειπεν δε ημιν ο ανθρωπος ο κυριος της γης εν τουτω γνωσομαι οτι ειρηνικοι εστε αδελφον ενα αφετε ωδε μετ εμου τον δε αγορασμον της σιτοδοσιας του οικου υμων λαβοντες απελθατε

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” The young woman went and called the child’s mother.

η δε ειπεν αυτη η θυγατηρ φαραω πορευου ελθουσα δε η νεανις εκαλεσεν την μητερα του παιδιου

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” The woman took the child, and nursed him.

Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

και νυν δευρο αποστειλω σε προς φαραω βασιλεα αιγυπτου και εξαξεις τον λαον μου τους υιους ισραηλ εκ γης αιγυπτου

Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and tell them, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt.

ελθων ουν συναγαγε την γερουσιαν των υιων ισραηλ και ερεις προς αυτους κυριος ο θεος των πατερων υμων ωπται μοι θεος αβρααμ και θεος ισαακ και θεος ιακωβ λεγων επισκοπη επεσκεμμαι υμας και οσα συμβεβηκεν υμιν εν αιγυπτω

They will listen to your voice. You shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him, ‘Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh, our God.’

και εισακουσονται σου της φωνης και εισελευση συ και η γερουσια ισραηλ προς φαραω βασιλεα αιγυπτου και ερεις προς αυτον ο θεος των εβραιων προσκεκληται ημας πορευσωμεθα ουν οδον τριων ημερων εις την ερημον ινα θυσωμεν τω θεω ημων

I know that the king of Egypt won’t give you permission to go, no, not by a mighty hand.

And I am sure H3045 (QalPerf) that the king H4428 of Egypt H4714 will not let H5414 (QalImpf) you go, H1980 (QalInf) no, not by a mighty H2389 hand. H3027

εγω δε οιδα οτι ου προησεται υμας φαραω βασιλευς αιγυπτου πορευθηναι εαν μη μετα χειρος κραταιας

I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, and it will happen that when you go, you shall not go empty-handed.

And I will give H5414 (QalPerf) this people H5971 favour H2580 in the sight H5869 of the Egyptians: H4714 and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, H3212 (QalImpf) ye shall not go H3212 (QalImpf) empty: H7387

Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”

και νυν πορευου και εγω ανοιξω το στομα σου και συμβιβασω σε ο μελλεις λαλησαι

Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, “Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive.” Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.”

Yahweh said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.”

μετα δε τας ημερας τας πολλας εκεινας ετελευτησεν ο βασιλευς αιγυπτου ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην εν μαδιαμ βαδιζε απελθε εις αιγυπτον τεθνηκασιν γαρ παντες οι ζητουντες σου την ψυχην

Yahweh said to Moses, “When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην πορευομενου σου και αποστρεφοντος εις αιγυπτον ορα παντα τα τερατα α εδωκα εν ταις χερσιν σου ποιησεις αυτα εναντιον φαραω εγω δε σκληρυνω την καρδιαν αυτου και ου μη εξαποστειλη τον λαον

Yahweh said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” He went, and met him on God’s mountain, and kissed him.

Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.

επορευθη δε μωυσης και ααρων και συνηγαγον την γερουσιαν των υιων ισραηλ

They said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh, our God, lest he fall on us with pestilence, or with the sword.”

και λεγουσιν αυτω ο θεος των εβραιων προσκεκληται ημας πορευσομεθα ουν οδον τριων ημερων εις την ερημον οπως θυσωμεν τω θεω ημων μηποτε συναντηση ημιν θανατος η φονος

The king of Egypt said to them, “Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people from their work? Get back to your burdens!”

And the king H4428 of Egypt H4714 said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses H4872 and Aaron, H175 let H6544 (HiphImpf) the people H5971 from their works? H4639 get H3212 (QalImpv) you unto your burdens. H5450

και ειπεν αυτοις ο βασιλευς αιγυπτου ινα τι μωυση και ααρων διαστρεφετε τον λαον μου απο των εργων απελθατε εκαστος υμων προς τα εργα αυτου

“You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick, as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.

Ye shall no more H3254 (HiphImpf) give H5414 (QalInf) the people H5971 straw H8401 to make H3835 (QalInf) brick, H3843 as heretofore: H8032 H8543 let them go H3212 (QalImpf) and gather H7197 (PoelPerf) straw H8401 for themselves.

ουκετι προστεθησεται διδοναι αχυρον τω λαω εις την πλινθουργιαν καθαπερ εχθες και τριτην ημεραν αυτοι πορευεσθωσαν και συναγαγετωσαν εαυτοις αχυρα

You shall require from them the number of the bricks which they made before. You shall not diminish anything of it, for they are idle. Therefore they cry, saying, ‘Let’s go and sacrifice to our God.’

And the tale H4971 of the bricks, H3843 which they did make H6213 (QalActPtc) heretofore, H8032 H8543 ye shall lay H7760 (QalImpf) upon them; ye shall not diminish H1639 (QalImpf) ought thereof: for they be idle; H7503 (NiphPtc) therefore they cry, H6817 (QalActPtc) saying, H559 (QalInf) Let us go H3212 (QalImpf) and sacrifice H2076 (QalImpf) to our God. και την συνταξιν της πλινθειας ης αυτοι ποιουσιν καθ εκαστην ημεραν επιβαλεις αυτοις ουκ αφελεις ουδεν σχολαζουσιν γαρ δια τουτο κεκραγασιν λεγοντες πορευθωμεν και θυσωμεν τω θεω ημων

Go yourselves, get straw where you can find it, for nothing of your work shall be diminished.’”

αυτοι υμεις πορευομενοι συλλεγετε εαυτοις αχυρα οθεν εαν ευρητε ου γαρ αφαιρειται απο της συνταξεως υμων ουθεν

But Pharaoh said, “You are idle! You are idle! Therefore you say, ‘Let’s go and sacrifice to Yahweh.’

και ειπεν αυτοις σχολαζετε σχολασται εστε δια τουτο λεγετε πορευθωμεν θυσωμεν τω θεω ημων

Go therefore now, and work; for no straw shall be given to you; yet you shall deliver the same number of bricks!”

Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he is going out to the water. You shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him. You shall take the rod which was turned to a serpent in your hand.

βαδισον προς φαραω το πρωι ιδου αυτος εκπορευεται επι το υδωρ και στηση συναντων αυτω επι το χειλος του ποταμου και την ραβδον την στραφεισαν εις οφιν λημψη εν τη χειρι σου

Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”

We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he shall command us.”

Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”

Moses stretched out his rod toward the heavens, and Yahweh sent thunder and hail; and lightning flashed down to the earth. Yahweh rained hail on the land of Egypt.

Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve Yahweh your God; but who are those who will go?”

και απεστρεψαν τον τε μωυσην και ααρων προς φαραω και ειπεν αυτοις πορευεσθε και λατρευσατε τω θεω υμων τινες δε και τινες εισιν οι πορευομενοι

Moses said, “We will go with our young and with our old. We will go with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds; for we must hold a feast to Yahweh.”

και λεγει μωυσης συν τοις νεανισκοις και πρεσβυτεροις πορευσομεθα συν τοις υιοις και θυγατρασιν και προβατοις και βουσιν ημων εστιν γαρ εορτη κυριου του θεου ημων

Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve Yahweh; for that is what you desire!” Then they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, “Go, serve Yahweh. Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you.”

και εκαλεσεν φαραω μωυσην και ααρων λεγων βαδιζετε λατρευσατε κυριω τω θεω υμων πλην των προβατων και των βοων υπολιπεσθε και η αποσκευη υμων αποτρεχετω μεθ υμων

Our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve Yahweh our God; and we don’t know with what we must serve Yahweh, until we come there.”

Our cattle H4735 also shall go H3212 (QalImpf) with us; there shall not an hoof H6541 be left behind; H7604 (NiphImpf) for thereof must we take H3947 (QalImpf) to serve H5647 (QalInf) the Lord H3068 our God; H430 and we know H3045 (QalImpf) not with what we must serve H5647 (QalImpf) the Lord, H3068 until we come H935 (QalInf) thither.

και τα κτηνη ημων πορευσεται μεθ ημων και ουχ υπολειψομεθα οπλην απ αυτων γαρ λημψομεθα λατρευσαι κυριω τω θεω ημων ημεις δε ουκ οιδαμεν τι λατρευσωμεν κυριω τω θεω ημων εως του ελθειν ημας εκει

Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”

και λεγει φαραω απελθε απ εμου προσεχε σεαυτω ετι προσθειναι ιδειν μου το προσωπον η δ αν ημερα οφθης μοι αποθανη

The children of Israel went and did so; as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 went away, H3212 (QalImpf) and did H6213 (QalImpf) as the Lord H3068 had commanded H6680 (PielPerf) Moses H4872 and Aaron, H175 so did H6213 (QalPerf) they.

και απελθοντες εποιησαν οι υιοι ισραηλ καθα ενετειλατο κυριος τω μωυση και ααρων ουτως εποιησαν

He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said!
