ελαβον αυτην και τον βασιλεα αυτης και τας κωμας αυτης και επαταξαν αυτην εν στοματι ξιφους και εξωλεθρευσαν αυτην και παν εμπνεον εν αυτη και ου κατελιπον αυτη ουδενα διασεσωσμενον ον τροπον εποιησαν την χεβρων και τω βασιλει αυτης ουτως εποιησαν τη δαβιρ και τω βασιλει αυτης

So Joshua struck all the land, the hill country, the South, the lowland, the slopes, and all their kings. He left no one remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, commanded.

Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time because Yahweh, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

When Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,

ως δε ηκουσεν ιαβιν βασιλευς ασωρ απεστειλεν προς ιωβαβ βασιλεα μαρρων και προς βασιλεα συμοων και προς βασιλεα αζιφ

and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,

All these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.

Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded.

Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the middle of the valley, and half Gilead, even to the river Jabbok, the border of the children of Ammon;

and ruled in Mount Hermon, and in Salecah, and in all Bashan, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

αρχων απο ορους αερμων και απο σελχα και πασαν την βασαν εως οριων γεσουρι και την μαχατι και το ημισυ γαλααδ οριων σηων βασιλεως εσεβων

These are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the children of Israel struck beyond the Jordan westward, from Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon even to Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir. Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;

και πασας τας πολεις του μισωρ και πασαν την βασιλειαν του σηων βασιλεως των αμορραιων ον επαταξεν μωυσης αυτον και τους ηγουμενους μαδιαμ και τον ευι και τον ροκομ και τον σουρ και τον ουρ και τον ροβε αρχοντας παρα σηων και τους κατοικουντας την γην

and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan’s bank, to the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

And in the valley, H6010 Betharam, H1027 and Bethnimrah, H1039 and Succoth, H5523 and Zaphon, H6829 the rest H3499 of the kingdom H4468 of Sihon H5511 king H4428 of Heshbon, H2809 Jordan H3383 and [his] border, H1366 [even] unto the edge H7097 of the sea H3220 of Chinnereth H3672 on the other side H5676 Jordan H3383 eastward. και εν εμεκ βαιθαραμ και βαιθαναβρα και σοκχωθα και σαφαν και την λοιπην βασιλειαν σηων βασιλεως εσεβων και ο ιορδανης οριει εως μερους της θαλασσης χενερεθ περαν του ιορδανου απ ανατολων

και εγενετο τα ορια αυτων απο μααναιμ και πασα βασιλεια βασανι και πασα βασιλεια ωγ βασιλεως βασαν και πασας τας κωμας ιαιρ αι εισιν εν τη βασανιτιδι εξηκοντα πολεις

Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel. He sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you,

I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; not with your sword, nor with your bow.

Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their big toes cut off, scavenged under my table. As I have done, so God^§ has done to me.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years.

Therefore the anger H639 of the Lord H3068 was hot H2734 (QalImpf) against Israel, H3478 and he sold H4376 (QalImpf) them into the hand H3027 of Chushanrishathaim H3573 king H4428 of Mesopotamia: H763 and the children H1121 of Israel H3478 served H5647 (QalImpf) Chushanrishathaim H3573 eight H8083 years. και ωργισθη θυμω κυριος εν τω ισραηλ και απεδοτο αυτους εις χειρας χουσαρσαθωμ βασιλεως συριας ποταμων και εδουλευσαν αυτω οκτω ετη

Yahweh’s Spirit came on him, and he judged Israel; and he went out to war, and Yahweh delivered Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. His hand prevailed against Cushan Rishathaim.

And the Spirit H7307 of the Lord H3068 came upon him, and he judged H8199 (QalImpf) Israel, H3478 and went out H3318 (QalImpf) to war: H4421 and the Lord H3068 delivered H5414 (QalImpf) Chushanrishathaim H3573 king H4428 of Mesopotamia H763 into his hand; H3027 and his hand H3027 prevailed H5810 (QalImpf) against Chushanrishathaim. H3573

και εγενετο επ αυτον πνευμα κυριου και εκρινεν τον ισραηλ και εξηλθεν επι τον πολεμον και παρεδωκεν κυριος εν χειρι αυτου τον χουσαρσαθωμ βασιλεα συριας και εκραταιωθη η χειρ αυτου επι τον χουσαρσαθωμ

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and Yahweh strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 did H6213 (QalInf) evil H7451 again H3254 (HiphImpf) in the sight H5869 of the Lord: H3068 and the Lord H3068 strengthened H2388 (PielImpf) Eglon H5700 the king H4428 of Moab H4124 against Israel, H3478 because they had done H6213 (QalPerf) evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the Lord. H3068

και προσεθεντο οι υιοι ισραηλ ποιησαι το πονηρον εναντι κυριου και ενισχυσεν κυριος τον εγλωμ βασιλεα μωαβ επι τον ισραηλ δια το πεποιηκεναι αυτους το πονηρον εναντι κυριου

The children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.

So the children H1121 of Israel H3478 served H5647 (QalImpf) Eglon H5700 the king H4428 of Moab H4124 eighteen H8083 H6240 years. H8141

και εδουλευσαν οι υιοι ισραηλ τω εγλωμ βασιλει μωαβ ετη δεκα οκτω

But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

But when the children H1121 of Israel H3478 cried H2199 (QalImpf) unto the Lord, H3068 the Lord H3068 raised them up H6965 (HiphImpf) a deliverer, H3467 (HiphPtc) Ehud H164 the son H1121 of Gera, H1617 a Benjamite, H1145 a man H376 lefthanded: H334 H3225 and by him H3027 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 sent H7971 (QalImpf) a present H4503 unto Eglon H5700 the king H4428 of Moab. He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.

και προσηνεγκεν τα δωρα τω εγλωμ βασιλει μωαβ και εγλωμ ανηρ αστειος σφοδρα

But he himself turned back from the stone idols that were by Gilgal, and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” The king said, “Keep silence!” All who stood by him left him.

και εγλωμ ανεστρεψεν απο των γλυπτων μετα της γαλγαλ και ειπεν αωδ λογος μοι κρυφιος προς σε βασιλευ και ειπεν εγλωμ πασιν εκ μεσου και εξηλθον απ αυτου παντες οι παραστηκοντες αυτω

Yahweh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

και σισαρα ανεχωρησεν τοις ποσιν αυτου εις σκηνην ιαηλ γυναικος χαβερ του κιναιου οτι ειρηνη ανα μεσον ιαβιν βασιλεως ασωρ και ανα μεσον οικου χαβερ του κιναιου

και επορευθη χειρ των υιων ισραηλ πορευομενη και σκληρυνομενη επι ιαβιν βασιλεα χανααν εως εξωλεθρευσαν αυτον
