Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and tell the mountains, the hills, the watercourses and the valleys, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because you have borne the shame of the nations.”

δια τουτο προφητευσον επι την γην του ισραηλ και ειπον τοις ορεσιν και τοις βουνοις και ταις φαραγξιν και ταις ναπαις ταδε λεγει κυριος ιδου εγω εν τω ζηλω μου και εν τω θυμω μου ελαλησα αντι του ονειδισμους εθνων ενεγκαι υμας

He caused me to pass by them all around; and behold, there were very many in the open valley, and behold, they were very dry.

And caused me to pass H5674 (HiphPerf) by them round about: H5439 and, behold, [there were] very H3966 many H7227 in the open H6440 valley; H1237 and, lo, [they were] very H3966 dry. H3002

και περιηγαγεν με επ αυτα κυκλοθεν κυκλω και ιδου πολλα σφοδρα επι προσωπου του πεδιου ξηρα σφοδρα

Again he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, ‘You dry bones, hear Yahweh’s word.

και ειπεν προς με προφητευσον επι τα οστα ταυτα και ερεις αυτοις τα οστα τα ξηρα ακουσατε λογον κυριου

“ ‘ “My servant David will be king over them. They all will have one shepherd. They will also walk in my ordinances and observe my statutes, and do them.

And David H1732 my servant H5650 [shall be] king H4428 over them; and they all shall have one H259 shepherd: H7462 (QalActPtc) they shall also walk H3212 (QalImpf) in my judgments, H4941 and observe H8104 (QalImpf) my statutes, H2708 and do H6213 (QalPerf) them.

και ο δουλος μου δαυιδ αρχων εν μεσω αυτων και ποιμην εις εσται παντων οτι εν τοις προσταγμασιν μου πορευσονται και τα κριματα μου φυλαξονται και ποιησουσιν αυτα

“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

Son H1121 of man, H120 set H7760 (QalImpv) thy face H6440 against Gog, H1463 the land H776 of Magog, H4031 the chief H7218 prince H5387 of Meshech H4902 and Tubal, H8422 and prophesy H5012 (NiphImpv) against him,

υιε ανθρωπου στηρισον το προσωπον σου επι γωγ και την γην του μαγωγ αρχοντα ρως μοσοχ και θοβελ και προφητευσον επ αυτον

“ ‘ “Be prepared, yes, prepare yourself, you, and all your companies who are assembled to you, and be a guard to them.

Be thou prepared, H3559 (NiphImpv) and prepare H3559 (HiphImpv) for thyself, thou, and all thy company H6951 that are assembled H6950 (NiphPtc) unto thee, and be thou a guard H4929 unto them.

ετοιμασθητι ετοιμασον σεαυτον συ και πασα η συναγωγη σου οι συνηγμενοι μετα σου και εση μοι εις προφυλακην

You will say, ‘I will go up to the land of unwalled villages. I will go to those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

And thou shalt say, H559 (QalPerf) I will go up H5927 (QalImpf) to the land H776 of unwalled villages; H6519 I will go H935 (QalImpf) to them that are at rest, H8252 (QalActPtc) that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) safely, H983 all of them dwelling H3427 (QalActPtc) without walls, H2346 and having neither bars H1280 nor gates, H1817

και ερεις αναβησομαι επι γην απερριμμενην ηξω επι ησυχαζοντας εν ησυχια και οικουντας επ ειρηνης παντας κατοικουντας γην εν η ουχ υπαρχει τειχος ουδε μοχλοι και θυραι ουκ εισιν αυτοις

to take the plunder and to take prey; to turn your hand against the waste places that are inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten livestock and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.’

To take H7997 (QalInf) a spoil, H7998 and to take H962 (QalInf) a prey; H957 to turn H7725 (HiphInf) thine hand H3027 upon the desolate places H2723 [that are now] inhabited, H3427 (NiphPtc) and upon the people H5971 [that are] gathered H622 (PualPtc) out of the nations, H1471 which have gotten H6213 (QalActPtc) cattle H4735 and goods, H7075 that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) in the midst H2872 of the land. προνομευσαι προνομην και σκυλευσαι σκυλα αυτων του επιστρεψαι χειρα σου εις την ηρημωμενην η κατωκισθη και επ εθνος συνηγμενον απο εθνων πολλων πεποιηκοτας κτησεις κατοικουντας επι τον ομφαλον της γης

You will come up against my people Israel as a cloud to cover the land. It will happen in the latter days that I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me when I am sanctified in you, Gog, before their eyes.”

And thou shalt come up H5927 (QalPerf) against my people H5971 of Israel, H3478 as a cloud H6051 to cover H3680 (PielInf) the land; H776 it shall be in the latter H319 days, H3117 and I will bring H935 (HiphPerf) thee against my land, H776 that the heathen H1471 may know H3045 (QalInf) me, when I shall be sanctified H6942 (NiphInf) in thee, O Gog, H1463 before their eyes. και αναβηση επι τον λαον μου ισραηλ ως νεφελη καλυψαι γην επ εσχατων των ημερων εσται και αναξω σε επι την γην μου ινα γνωσιν παντα τα εθνη εμε εν τω αγιασθηναι με εν σοι ενωπιον αυτων

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Are you he of whom I spoke in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for years that I would bring you against them?

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 [Art] thou he of whom I have spoken H1696 (PielPerf) in old H6931 time H3117 by H3027 my servants H5650 the prophets H5030 of Israel, H3478 which prophesied H5012 (NiphPtc) in those days H3117 [many] years H8141 that I would bring H935 (HiphInf) thee against them?

ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος τω γωγ συ ει περι ου ελαλησα προ ημερων των εμπροσθεν δια χειρος των δουλων μου προφητων του ισραηλ εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και ετεσιν του αγαγειν σε επ αυτους

It will happen in that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord Yahweh, “that my wrath will come up into my nostrils.

And it shall come to pass at the same time H3117 when H3117 Gog H1463 shall come H935 (QalInf) against the land H127 of Israel, H3478 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God, H3069 [that] my fury H2534 shall come up H5927 (QalImpf) in my face. H639

και εσται εν τη ημερα εκεινη εν ημερα η αν ελθη γωγ επι την γην του ισραηλ λεγει κυριος κυριος αναβησεται ο θυμος μου

I will call for a sword against him to all my mountains,” says the Lord Yahweh. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.

And I will call H7121 (QalPerf) for a sword H2719 against him throughout all my mountains, H2022 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God: H3069 every man’s H376 sword H2719 shall be against his brother. H251

και καλεσω επ αυτον παν φοβον λεγει κυριος μαχαιρα ανθρωπου επι τον αδελφον αυτου εσται

“You, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.

Therefore, thou son H1121 of man, H120 prophesy H5012 (NiphImpv) against Gog, H1463 and say, H559 (QalPerf) Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Behold, I [am] against thee, O Gog, H1463 the chief H7218 prince H5387 of Meshech H4902 and Tubal: H8422

και συ υιε ανθρωπου προφητευσον επι γωγ και ειπον ταδε λεγει κυριος ιδου εγω επι σε γωγ αρχοντα ρως μοσοχ και θοβελ

I will turn you around, will lead you on, and will cause you to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring you onto the mountains of Israel.

And I will turn thee back, H7725 (PolePerf) and leave but the sixth part H8338 (PielPerf) of thee, and will cause thee to come up H5927 (HiphPerf) from the north H6828 parts, H3411 and will bring H935 (HiphPerf) thee upon the mountains H2022 of Israel: H3478

και συναξω σε και καθοδηγησω σε και αναβιβω σε απ εσχατου του βορρα και αναξω σε επι τα ορη του ισραηλ

The nations will know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they trespassed against me, and I hid my face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

And the heathen H1471 shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that the house H1004 of Israel H3478 went into captivity H1540 (QalPerf) for their iniquity: H5771 because they trespassed H4603 (QalPerf) against me, therefore hid H5641 (HiphImpf) I my face H6440 from them, and gave H5414 (QalImpf) them into the hand H3027 of their enemies: H6862 so fell H5307 (QalImpf) they all by the sword. H2719

και γνωσονται παντα τα εθνη οτι δια τας αμαρτιας αυτων ηχμαλωτευθησαν οικος ισραηλ ανθ ων ηθετησαν εις εμε και απεστρεψα το προσωπον μου απ αυτων και παρεδωκα αυτους εις χειρας των εχθρων αυτων και επεσαν παντες μαχαιρα

The side rooms were wider on the higher levels, because the walls were narrower at the higher levels. Therefore the width of the house increased upward; and so one went up from the lowest level to the highest through the middle level.

And [there was] an enlarging, H7337 (QalPerf) and a winding about H5437 (NiphPerf) still upward H4605 to the side chambers: H6763 for the winding about H4141 of the house H1004 went still upward H4605 round about H5439 the house: H1004 therefore the breadth H7341 of the house H1004 [was still] upward, H4605 and so increased H5927 (QalImpf) [from] the lowest H8481 [chamber] to the highest H5945 by the midst. και το ευρος της ανωτερας των πλευρων κατα το προσθεμα εκ του τοιχου προς την ανωτεραν κυκλω του οικου οπως διαπλατυνηται ανωθεν και εκ των κατωθεν αναβαινωσιν επι τα υπερωα και εκ των μεσων επι τα τριωροφα

He measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at its back, and its galleries on the one side and on the other side, one hundred cubits from the inner temple, and the porches of the court,

και διεμετρησεν μηκος του διοριζοντος κατα προσωπον του απολοιπου των κατοπισθεν του οικου εκεινου και τα απολοιπα ενθεν και ενθεν πηχεων εκατον το μηκος και ο ναος και αι γωνιαι και το αιλαμ το εξωτερον

to the space above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measure.

και εως πλησιον της εσωτερας και εως της εξωτερας και εφ ολον τον τοιχον κυκλω εν τω εσωθεν και εν τω εξωθεν

Cherubim and palm trees were made from the ground to above the door. The wall of the temple was like this.

εκ του εδαφους εως του φατνωματος τα χερουβιν και οι φοινικες διαγεγλυμμενοι

For they were in three stories, and they didn’t have pillars as the pillars of the courts. Therefore the uppermost was set back more than the lowest and the middle from the ground.

For they [were] in three H8027 (PualPtc) [stories], but had not pillars H5982 as the pillars H5982 of the courts: H2691 therefore [the building] was straitened H680 (NiphPerf) more than the lowest H8481 and the middlemost H8484 from the ground. H776

διοτι τριπλαι ησαν και στυλους ουκ ειχον καθως οι στυλοι των εξωτερων δια τουτο εξειχοντο των υποκατωθεν και των μεσων απο της γης

Because they ministered to them before their idols, and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I have lifted up my hand against them,” says the Lord Yahweh, “and they will bear their iniquity.

Because they ministered H8334 (PielImpf) unto them before H6440 their idols, H1544 and caused the house H1004 of Israel H3478 to fall H4383 into iniquity; H5771 therefore have I lifted up H5375 (QalPerf) mine hand H3027 against them, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God, H3069 and they shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) their iniquity. ανθ ων ελειτουργουν αυτοις προ προσωπου των ειδωλων αυτων και εγενετο τω οικω ισραηλ εις κολασιν αδικιας ενεκα τουτου ηρα την χειρα μου επ αυτους λεγει κυριος ο θεος

It shall be the prince’s part to give the burnt offerings, the meal offerings, and the drink offerings, in the feasts, and on the new moons, and on the Sabbaths, in all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. He shall prepare the sin offering, the meal offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.”

And it shall be the prince’s part H5387 [to give] burnt offerings, H5930 and meat offerings, H4503 and drink offerings, H5262 in the feasts, H2282 and in the new moons, H2320 and in the sabbaths, H7676 in all solemnities H4150 of the house H1004 of Israel: H3478 he shall prepare H6213 (QalImpf) the sin offering, H2403 and the meat offering, H4503 and the burnt offering, H5930 and the peace offerings, H8002 to make reconciliation H3722 (PielInf) for the house H1004 of Israel. H3478

και δια του αφηγουμενου εσται τα ολοκαυτωματα και αι θυσιαι και αι σπονδαι εσονται εν ταις εορταις και εν ταις νουμηνιαις και εν τοις σαββατοις και εν πασαις ταις εορταις οικου ισραηλ αυτος ποιησει τα υπερ αμαρτιας και την θυσιαν και τα ολοκαυτωματα και τα του σωτηριου του εξιλασκεσθαι υπερ του οικου ισραηλ

It will happen that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.

And it shall come to pass, [that] the fishers H1728 shall stand H5975 (QalPerf) (Qere) H5975 (QalImpf) upon it from Engedi H5872 even unto Eneglaim; H5882 they shall be a [place] to spread forth H4894 nets; H2764 their fish H1710 shall be according to their kinds, H4327 as the fish H1710 of the great H1419 sea, H3220 exceeding H3966 many. και στησονται εκει αλεεις απο αινγαδιν εως αιναγαλιμ ψυγμος σαγηνων εσται καθ αυτην εσται και οι ιχθυες αυτης ως οι ιχθυες της θαλασσης της μεγαλης πληθος πολυ σφοδρα

“By the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, Asher, one portion.

“By the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the offering which you shall offer, twenty-five thousand reeds in width, and in length as one of the portions, from the east side to the west side; and the sanctuary shall be in the middle of it.

And by the border H1366 of Judah, H3063 from the east H6921 side H6285 unto the west H3220 side, H6285 shall be the offering H8641 which ye shall offer H7311 (HiphImpf) of five H2568 and twenty H6242 thousand H505 [reeds in] breadth, H7341 and [in] length H753 as one H259 of the [other] parts, H2506 from the east H6921 side H6285 unto the west H3220 side: H6285 and the sanctuary H4720 shall be in the midst H8432 of it.

και απο των οριων ιουδα απο των προς ανατολας εως των προς θαλασσαν εσται η απαρχη του αφορισμου πεντε και εικοσι χιλιαδες ευρος και μηκος καθως μια των μεριδων απο των προς ανατολας και εως των προς θαλασσαν και εσται το αγιον εν μεσω αυτων

“The five thousand cubits that are left in the width, in front of the twenty-five thousand, shall be for common use, for the city, for dwelling and for pasture lands; and the city shall be in the middle of it.

And the five H2568 thousand, H505 that are left H3498 (NiphPtc) in the breadth H7341 over against H6440 the five H2568 and twenty H6242 thousand, H505 shall be a profane H2455 [place] for the city, H5892 for dwelling, H4186 and for suburbs: H4054 and the city H5892 shall be in the midst H8432 thereof.

τας δε πεντε χιλιαδας τας περισσας επι τω πλατει επι ταις πεντε και εικοσι χιλιασιν προτειχισμα εσται τη πολει εις την κατοικιαν και εις διαστημα αυτου και εσται η πολις εν μεσω αυτου

“The remainder shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy offering and of the possession of the city; in front of the twenty-five thousand of the offering toward the east border, and westward in front of the twenty-five thousand toward the west border, alongside the portions, it shall be for the prince. The holy offering and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the middle of it.

And the residue H3498 (NiphPtc) [shall be] for the prince, H5387 on the one side and on the other of the holy H6944 oblation, H8641 and of the possession H272 of the city, H5892 over against H6440 the five H2568 and twenty H6242 thousand H505 of the oblation H8641 toward the east H6921 border, H1366 and westward H3220 over against H6440 the five H2568 and twenty H6242 thousand H505 toward the west H3220 border, H1366 over against H5980 the portions H2506 for the prince: H5387 and it shall be the holy H6944 oblation; H8641 and the sanctuary H4720 of the house H1004 [shall be] in the midst H8432 thereof.

το δε περισσον τω αφηγουμενω εκ τουτου και εκ τουτου απο των απαρχων του αγιου και εις την κατασχεσιν της πολεως επι πεντε και εικοσι χιλιαδας μηκος εως των οριων των προς ανατολας και προς θαλασσαν επι πεντε και εικοσι χιλιαδας εως των οριων των προς θαλασσαν εχομενα των μεριδων του αφηγουμενου και εσται η απαρχη των αγιων και το αγιασμα του οικου εν μεσω αυτης

“By the border of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, Simeon, one portion.

And by the border H1366 of Benjamin, H1144 from the east H6921 side H6285 unto the west H3220 side, H6285 Simeon H8095 [shall have] a H259 [portion].

και απο των οριων των βενιαμιν απο των προς ανατολας εως των προς θαλασσαν συμεων μια

“By the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, Issachar, one portion.

And by the border H1366 of Simeon, H8095 from the east H6921 side H6285 unto the west H3220 side, H6285 Issachar H3485 a H259 [portion].

και απο των οριων των συμεων απο των προς ανατολας εως των προς θαλασσαν ισσαχαρ μια

“By the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun, one portion.

And by the border H1366 of Issachar, H3485 from the east H6921 side H6285 unto the west H3220 side, H6285 Zebulun H2074 a H259 [portion].

και απο των οριων των ισσαχαρ απο των προς ανατολας εως των προς θαλασσαν ζαβουλων μια

“By the border of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, Gad, one portion.

And by the border H1366 of Zebulun, H2074 from the east H6921 side H6285 unto the west H3220 side, H6285 Gad H1410 a H259 [portion].

και απο των οριων των ζαβουλων απο των προς ανατολας εως των προς θαλασσαν γαδ μια

“By the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar to the waters of Meribath Kadesh, to the brook, to the great sea.

And by the border H1366 of Gad, H1410 at the south H5045 side H6285 southward, H8486 the border H1366 shall be even from Tamar H8559 [unto] the waters H4325 of strife H4808 (QK) H4809 [in] Kadesh, H6946 [and] to the river H5158 toward the great H1419 sea. H3220

και απο των οριων των γαδ εως των προς λιβα και εσται τα ορια αυτου απο θαιμαν και υδατος μαριμωθ καδης κληρονομιας εως της θαλασσης της μεγαλης

and the gates of the city shall be named after the tribes of Israel, three gates northward: the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, one; the gate of Levi, one.

και αι πυλαι της πολεως επ ονομασιν φυλων του ισραηλ πυλαι τρεις προς βορραν πυλη ρουβην μια και πυλη ιουδα μια και πυλη λευι μια

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.

Then Daniel said to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

και ημην εν σουσοις τη βαρει η εστιν εν χωρα αιλαμ και ειδον εν οραματι και ημην επι του ουβαλ

As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west over the surface of the whole earth, and didn’t touch the ground. The goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

και εγω ημην συνιων και ιδου τραγος αιγων ηρχετο απο λιβος επι προσωπον πασης της γης και ουκ ην απτομενος της γης και τω τραγω κερας θεωρητον ανα μεσον των οφθαλμων αυτου

Through his policy he will cause deceit to prosper in his hand. He will magnify himself in his heart, and he will destroy many in their security. He will also stand up against the prince of princes, but he will be broken without human hands.

My God, turn your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by your name; for we do not present our petitions before you for our righteousness, but for your great mercies’ sake.
