Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.

The priests brought in the ark of Yahweh’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

There I have set the ark, in which is Yahweh’s covenant, which he made with the children of Israel.”

Then he said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart;

Ought you not to know that Yahweh, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

They entered into the covenant to seek Yahweh, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;

διαθου διαθηκην ανα μεσον εμου και σου και ανα μεσον του πατρος μου και ανα μεσον του πατρος σου ιδου απεσταλκα σοι χρυσιον και αργυριον δευρο και διασκεδασον απ εμου τον βαασα βασιλεα ισραηλ και απελθετω απ εμου

However Yahweh would not destroy David’s house, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.

Howbeit the Lord H3068 would H14 (QalPerf) not destroy H7843 (HiphInf) the house H1004 of David, H1732 because of the covenant H1285 that he had made H3772 (QalPerf) with David, H1732 and as he promised H559 (QalPerf) to give H5414 (QalInf) a light H5216 to him and to his sons H1121 for ever. In the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds—Azariah the son of Jeroham, Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, Azariah the son of Obed, Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri—into a covenant with him.

Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, all the people, and the king, that they should be Yahweh’s people.

Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Yahweh, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

Now therefore let’s make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives and those who are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God. Let it be done according to the law.

The friendship of Yahweh is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant.

He raises his hands against his friends. He has violated his covenant.

I will keep my loving kindness for him forever more. My covenant will stand firm with him.

I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.
