Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘Yahweh has not appeared to you.’ ”

“It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

εαν δε μη πιστευσωσιν σοι μηδε εισακουσωσιν της φωνης του σημειου του πρωτου πιστευσουσιν σοι της φωνης του σημειου του εσχατου

It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”

The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

Pharaoh said, “Who is Yahweh, that I should listen to his voice to let Israel go? I don’t know Yahweh, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”

Moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.

Moses spoke before Yahweh, saying, “Behold, the children of Israel haven’t listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, when I have uncircumcised lips?”

Moses said before Yahweh, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh listen to me?”

Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

και κατισχυσεν η καρδια φαραω και ουκ εισηκουσεν αυτων καθαπερ ελαλησεν αυτοις κυριος

You shall tell him, ‘Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, “Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness. Behold, until now you haven’t listened.”

The magicians of Egypt did the same thing with their enchantments. So Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

And the magicians H2748 of Egypt H4714 did H6213 (QalImpf) so with their enchantments: H3909 and Pharaoh’s H6547 heart H3820 was hardened, H2388 (QalImpf) neither did he hearken H8085 (QalPerf) unto them; as the Lord H3068 had said. H1696 (PielPerf)

εποιησαν δε ωσαυτως και οι επαοιδοι των αιγυπτιων ταις φαρμακειαις αυτων και εσκληρυνθη η καρδια φαραω και ουκ εισηκουσεν αυτων καθαπερ ειπεν κυριος

But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger;” but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken to Moses.

εσκληρυνεν δε κυριος την καρδιαν φαραω και ουκ εισηκουσεν αυτων καθα συνεταξεν κυριος

Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh won’t listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold of the inhabitants of Philistia.

ηκουσαν εθνη και ωργισθησαν ωδινες ελαβον κατοικουντας φυλιστιιμ

He said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.”

και ειπεν εαν ακοη ακουσης της φωνης κυριου του θεου σου και τα αρεστα εναντιον αυτου ποιησης και ενωτιση ταις εντολαις αυτου και φυλαξης παντα τα δικαιωματα αυτου πασαν νοσον ην επηγαγον τοις αιγυπτιοις ουκ επαξω επι σε εγω γαρ ειμι κυριος ο ιωμενος σε

In the morning, you shall see Yahweh’s glory; because he hears your murmurings against Yahweh. Who are we, that you murmur against us?”

και πρωι οψεσθε την δοξαν κυριου εν τω εισακουσαι τον γογγυσμον υμων επι τω θεω ημεις δε τι εσμεν οτι διαγογγυζετε καθ ημων

Moses said, “Now Yahweh will give you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to satisfy you, because Yahweh hears your murmurings which you murmur against him. And who are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against Yahweh.”

Moses said to Aaron, “Tell all the congregation of the children of Israel, ‘Come close to Yahweh, for he has heard your murmurings.’ ”

“I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God.’ ”

εισακηκοα τον γογγυσμον των υιων ισραηλ λαλησον προς αυτους λεγων το προς εσπεραν εδεσθε κρεα και το πρωι πλησθησεσθε αρτων και γνωσεσθε οτι εγω κυριος ο θεος υμων

Notwithstanding they didn’t listen to Moses, but some of them left of it until the morning, so it bred worms and became foul; and Moses was angry with them.

Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.

νυν ουν ακουσον μου και συμβουλευσω σοι και εσται ο θεος μετα σου γινου συ τω λαω τα προς τον θεον και ανοισεις τους λογους αυτων προς τον θεον

So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said.

So Moses H4872 hearkened H8085 (QalImpf) to the voice H6963 of his father in law, H2859 (QalActPtc) and did H6213 (QalImpf) all that he had said. H559 (QalPerf)

ηκουσεν δε μωυσης της φωνης του γαμβρου και εποιησεν οσα αυτω ειπεν

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;

Now therefore, if ye will obey H8085 (QalImpf) my voice H6963 indeed, H8085 (QalInf) and keep H8104 (QalPerf) my covenant, H1285 then ye shall be a peculiar treasure H5459 unto me above all people: H5971 for all the earth H776 is mine:

και νυν εαν ακοη ακουσητε της εμης φωνης και φυλαξητε την διαθηκην μου εσεσθε μοι λαος περιουσιος απο παντων των εθνων εμη γαρ εστιν πασα η γη

Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Lo, I come H935 (QalActPtc) unto thee in a thick H5645 cloud, H6051 that the people H5971 may hear H8085 (QalImpf) when I speak H1696 (PielInf) with thee, and believe H539 (HiphImpf) thee for ever. ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην ιδου εγω παραγινομαι προς σε εν στυλω νεφελης ινα ακουση ο λαος λαλουντος μου προς σε και σοι πιστευσωσιν εις τον αιωνα ανηγγειλεν δε μωυσης τα ρηματα του λαου προς κυριον

They said to Moses, “Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but don’t let God speak with us, lest we die.”

και ειπαν προς μωυσην λαλησον συ ημιν και μη λαλειτω προς ημας ο θεος μηποτε αποθανωμεν

If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;

If H518 thou afflict H6031 (PielImpf) them in any wise, H6031 (PielInf) and they cry H6817 (QalImpf) at all H6817 (QalInf) unto me, I will surely H8085 (QalInf) hear H8085 (QalImpf) their cry; H6818

^[22:22] εαν δε κακια κακωσητε αυτους και κεκραξαντες καταβοησωσι προς με ακοη εισακουσομαι της φωνης αυτων

for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.

for that is his covering H3682 only, it is his raiment H8071 for his skin: H5785 wherein shall he sleep? H7901 (QalImpf) and it shall come to pass, when he crieth H6817 (QalImpf) unto me, that I will hear; H8085 (QalPerf) for I am gracious. H2587

^[22:26] εστιν γαρ τουτο περιβολαιον αυτου μονον τουτο το ιματιον ασχημοσυνης αυτου εν τινι κοιμηθησεται εαν ουν καταβοηση προς με εισακουσομαι αυτου ελεημων γαρ ειμι

“Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don’t invoke the name of other gods or even let them be heard out of your mouth.

And in all things that I have said H559 (QalPerf) unto you be circumspect: H8104 (NiphImpf) and make no mention H2142 (HiphImpf) of the name H8034 of other H312 gods, H430 neither let it be heard H8085 (NiphImpf) out H5921 of thy mouth. H6310

παντα οσα ειρηκα προς υμας φυλαξασθε και ονομα θεων ετερων ουκ αναμνησθησεσθε ουδε μη ακουσθη εκ του στοματος υμων

Pay attention to him, and listen to his voice. Don’t provoke him, for he will not pardon your disobedience, for my name is in him.

Beware H8104 (NiphImpv) of H6440 him, and obey H8085 (QalImpv) his voice, H6963 provoke H4843 (HiphImpf) him not; for he will not pardon H5375 (QalImpf) your transgressions: H6588 for my name H8034 is in him. H7130

προσεχε σεαυτω και εισακουε αυτου και μη απειθει αυτω ου γαρ μη υποστειληται σε το γαρ ονομα μου εστιν επ αυτω

But if you indeed listen to his voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.

But if thou shalt indeed H8085 (QalInf) obey H8085 (QalImpf) his voice, H6963 and do H6213 (QalPerf) all that I speak; H1696 (PielImpf) then I will be an enemy H340 (QalPerf) unto thine enemies, H341 (QalActPtc) and an adversary H6887 (QalActPtc) unto thine adversaries.^§ H6696 (QalPerf)

Exodus 23:22 Or, I will afflict them that afflict thee

He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “We will do all that Yahweh has said, and be obedient.”

και λαβων το βιβλιον της διαθηκης ανεγνω εις τα ωτα του λαου και ειπαν παντα οσα ελαλησεν κυριος ποιησομεν και ακουσομεθα

It shall be on Aaron to minister: and its sound shall be heard when he goes in to the holy place before Yahweh, and when he comes out, that he not die.

And it shall be upon Aaron H175 to minister: H8334 (PielInf) and his sound H6963 shall be heard H8085 (NiphPerf) when he goeth H935 (QalInf) in unto the holy H6944 place before H6440 the Lord, H3068 and when he cometh H3318 (QalInf) out, that he die H4191 (QalImpf) not.

και εσται ααρων εν τω λειτουργειν ακουστη η φωνη αυτου εισιοντι εις το αγιον εναντιον κυριου και εξιοντι ινα μη αποθανη

When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”

And when Joshua H3091 heard H8085 (QalImpf) the noise H6963 of the people H5971 as they shouted, H7452 he said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 There is a noise H6963 of war H4421 in the camp. H4264

και ακουσας ιησους την φωνην του λαου κραζοντων λεγει προς μωυσην φωνη πολεμου εν τη παρεμβολη
