Moses came and told the people all Yahweh’s words, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do.”

εισηλθεν δε μωυσης και διηγησατο τω λαω παντα τα ρηματα του θεου και τα δικαιωματα απεκριθη δε πας ο λαος φωνη μια λεγοντες παντας τους λογους ους ελαλησεν κυριος ποιησομεν και ακουσομεθα

Moses wrote all Yahweh’s words, then rose up early in the morning and built an altar at the base of the mountain, with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.

Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.”

λαβων δε μωυσης το αιμα κατεσκεδασεν του λαου και ειπεν ιδου το αιμα της διαθηκης ης διεθετο κυριος προς υμας περι παντων των λογων τουτων

He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”

και τοις πρεσβυτεροις ειπαν ησυχαζετε αυτου εως αναστρεψωμεν προς υμας και ιδου ααρων και ωρ μεθ υμων εαν τινι συμβη κρισις προσπορευεσθωσαν αυτοις

“This is the thing that you shall do to them to make them holy, to minister to me in the priest’s office: take one young bull and two rams without defect,

και ταυτα εστιν α ποιησεις αυτοις αγιασαι αυτους ωστε ιερατευειν μοι αυτους λημψη μοσχαριον εκ βοων εν και κριους δυο αμωμους

The sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. About three thousand men fell of the people that day.

When the people heard this evil news, they mourned; and no one put on his jewelry.

Yahweh said to Moses, “I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

Yahweh said to Moses, “Chisel two stone tablets like the first. I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Write these words; for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

Moses assembled all the congregation of the children of Israel, and said to them, “These are the words which Yahweh has commanded, that you should do them.

“‘If the whole congregation of Israel sins, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and are guilty;

εαν δε πασα συναγωγη ισραηλ αγνοηση ακουσιως και λαθη ρημα εξ οφθαλμων της συναγωγης και ποιησωσιν μιαν απο πασων των εντολων κυριου η ου ποιηθησεται και πλημμελησωσιν

“‘Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be guilty.

Aaron and his sons did all the things which Yahweh commanded by Moses.

So Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 did H6213 (QalImpf) all things H1697 which the Lord H3068 commanded H6680 (PielPerf) by the hand H3027 of Moses. H4872

και εποιησεν ααρων και οι υιοι αυτου παντας τους λογους ους συνεταξεν κυριος τω μωυση

Moses said, “This is the thing which Yahweh commanded that you should do; and Yahweh’s glory shall appear to you.”

And Moses H4872 said, H559 (QalImpf) This is the thing H1697 which the Lord H3068 commanded H6680 (PielPerf) that ye should do: H6213 (QalImpf) and the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 shall appear H7200 (NiphImpf) unto you.

και ειπεν μωυσης τουτο το ρημα ο ειπεν κυριος ποιησατε και οφθησεται εν υμιν δοξα κυριου

You shall not go out from the door of the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of Yahweh is on you.” They did according to the word of Moses.

και απο της θυρας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου ουκ εξελευσεσθε ινα μη αποθανητε το γαρ ελαιον της χρισεως το παρα κυριου εφ υμιν και εποιησαν κατα το ρημα μωυση

“Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded:

λαλησον προς ααρων και προς τους υιους αυτου και προς παντας υιους ισραηλ και ερεις προς αυτους τουτο το ρημα ο ενετειλατο κυριος λεγων

“‘These are the appointed feasts of Yahweh which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh, a burnt offering, a meal offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, each on its own day—

αυται αι εορται κυριω ας καλεσετε κλητας αγιας ωστε προσενεγκαι καρπωματα τω κυριω ολοκαυτωματα και θυσιας αυτων και σπονδας αυτων το καθ ημεραν εις ημεραν

Yahweh said to Moses, “Has Yahweh’s hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Is the Lord’s H3068 hand H3027 waxed short? H7114 (QalImpf) thou shalt see H7200 (QalImpf) now whether my word H1697 shall come to pass H7136 (QalImpf) unto thee or not.

Moses went out, and told the people Yahweh’s words; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.

και εξηλθεν μωυσης και ελαλησεν προς τον λαον τα ρηματα κυριου και συνηγαγεν εβδομηκοντα ανδρας απο των πρεσβυτερων του λαου και εστησεν αυτους κυκλω της σκηνης

He said, “Now hear my words. If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.

Yahweh said, “I have pardoned according to your word;

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην ιλεως αυτοις ειμι κατα το ρημα σου

Moses told these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly.

Because he has despised Yahweh’s word, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall be utterly cut off. His iniquity shall be on him.’”

οτι το ρημα κυριου εφαυλισεν και τας εντολας αυτου διεσκεδασεν εκτριψει εκτριβησεται η ψυχη εκεινη η αμαρτια αυτης εν αυτη

As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split apart.

And it came to pass, as he had made an end H3615 (PielInf) of speaking H1696 (PielInf) all these words, H1697 that the ground H127 clave asunder H1234 (NiphImpf) that was under them:

Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, in addition to those who died about the matter of Korah.

και συ και οι υιοι σου μετα σου διατηρησετε την ιερατειαν υμων κατα παντα τροπον του θυσιαστηριου και το ενδοθεν του καταπετασματος και λειτουργησετε τας λειτουργιας δομα της ιερατειας υμων και ο αλλογενης ο προσπορευομενος αποθανειται

The children of Israel said to him, “We will go up by the highway; and if we drink your water, I and my livestock, then I will give its price. Only let me, without doing anything else, pass through on my feet.”

και λεγουσιν αυτω οι υιοι ισραηλ παρα το ορος παρελευσομεθα εαν δε του υδατος σου πιωμεν εγω τε και τα κτηνη δωσω τιμην σοι αλλα το πραγμα ουδεν εστιν παρα το ορος παρελευσομεθα

The elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand. They came to Balaam, and spoke to him the words of Balak.

και επορευθη η γερουσια μωαβ και η γερουσια μαδιαμ και τα μαντεια εν ταις χερσιν αυτων και ηλθον προς βαλααμ και ειπαν αυτω τα ρηματα βαλακ

He said to them, “Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as Yahweh shall speak to me.” The princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.

και ειπεν προς αυτους καταλυσατε αυτου την νυκτα και αποκριθησομαι υμιν πραγματα α εαν λαληση κυριος προς με και κατεμειναν οι αρχοντες μωαβ παρα βαλααμ

God came to Balaam at night, and said to him, “If the men have come to call you, rise up, go with them; but only the word which I speak to you, that you shall do.”

And God H430 came H935 (QalImpf) unto Balaam H1109 at night, H3915 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, If the men H582 come H935 (QalPerf) to call H7121 (QalInf) thee, rise up, H6965 (QalImpv) and go H3212 (QalImpv) with them; but yet H389 the word H1697 which I shall say H1696 (PielImpf) unto thee, that shalt thou do. και ηλθεν ο θεος προς βαλααμ νυκτος και ειπεν αυτω ει καλεσαι σε παρεισιν οι ανθρωποι ουτοι αναστας ακολουθησον αυτοις αλλα το ρημα ο αν λαλησω προς σε τουτο ποιησεις

Yahweh’s angel said to Balaam, “Go with the men; but you shall only speak the word that I shall speak to you.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

And the angel H4397 of the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Balaam, H1109 Go H3212 (QalImpv) with the men: H582 but only H657 the word H1697 that I shall speak H1696 (PielImpf) unto thee, that thou shalt speak. και ειπεν ο αγγελος του θεου προς βαλααμ συμπορευθητι μετα των ανθρωπων πλην το ρημα ο εαν ειπω προς σε τουτο φυλαξη λαλησαι και επορευθη βαλααμ μετα των αρχοντων βαλακ

Balaam said to Balak, “Behold, I have come to you. Have I now any power at all to speak anything? I will speak the word that God puts in my mouth.”

Balaam said to Balak, “Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go. Perhaps Yahweh will come to meet me. Whatever he shows me I will tell you.” He went to a bare height.

και ειπεν βαλααμ προς βαλακ παραστηθι επι της θυσιας σου και πορευσομαι ει μοι φανειται ο θεος εν συναντησει και ρημα ο εαν μοι δειξη αναγγελω σοι και παρεστη βαλακ επι της θυσιας αυτου και βαλααμ επορευθη επερωτησαι τον θεον και επορευθη ευθειαν

Yahweh put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”

And the Lord H3068 put H7760 (QalImpf) a word H1697 in Balaam’s H1109 mouth, H6310 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Return H7725 (QalImpv) unto Balak, H1111 and thus thou shalt speak. H1696 (PielImpf)

και ενεβαλεν ο θεος ρημα εις το στομα βαλααμ και ειπεν επιστραφεις προς βαλακ ουτως λαλησεις

Yahweh met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and say this.”

And the Lord H3068 met H7136 (NiphImpf) Balaam, H1109 and put H7760 (QalImpf) a word H1697 in his mouth, H6310 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Go again H7725 (QalImpv) unto Balak, H1111 and say H1696 (PielImpf) thus.

και συνηντησεν ο θεος τω βαλααμ και ενεβαλεν ρημα εις το στομα αυτου και ειπεν αποστραφητι προς βαλακ και ταδε λαλησεις

for they harassed you with their wiles, wherein they have deceived you in the matter of Peor, and in the incident regarding Cozbi, the daughter of the prince of Midian, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Peor.”

for they vex H6887 (QalActPtc) you with their wiles, H5231 wherewith they have beguiled H5230 (PielPerf) you in the matter H1697 of Peor, H6465 and in the matter H1697 of Cozbi, H3579 the daughter H1323 of a prince H5387 of Midian, H4080 their sister, H269 which was slain H5221 (HophPtc) in the day H3117 of the plague H4046 for Peor’s H6465 sake. οτι εχθραινουσιν αυτοι υμιν εν δολιοτητι οσα δολιουσιν υμας δια φογωρ και δια χασβι θυγατερα αρχοντος μαδιαν αδελφην αυτων την πεπληγυιαν εν τη ημερα της πληγης δια φογωρ

Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying, “This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded.

When a man vows a vow to Yahweh, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

αυται γαρ ησαν τοις υιοις ισραηλ κατα το ρημα βαλααμ του αποστησαι και υπεριδειν το ρημα κυριου ενεκεν φογωρ και εγενετο η πληγη εν τη συναγωγη κυριου

everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity. All that doesn’t withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.

παν πραγμα ο διελευσεται εν πυρι και καθαρισθησεται αλλ η τω υδατι του αγνισμου αγνισθησεται και παντα οσα εαν μη διαπορευηται δια πυρος διελευσεται δι υδατος

Moses said to them: “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Yahweh to the war,

και ειπεν προς αυτους μωυσης εαν ποιησητε κατα το ρημα τουτο εαν εξοπλισησθε εναντι κυριου εις πολεμον

This is the thing which Yahweh commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, ‘Let them be married to whom they think best, only they shall marry into the family of the tribe of their father.

You answered me, and said, “The thing which you have spoken is good to do.”
