Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, even my people Israel. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance, and you will never again bereave them of their children.”

The land that was desolate will be tilled instead of being a desolation in the sight of all who passed by.

και η γη η ηφανισμενη εργασθησεται ανθ ων οτι ηφανισμενη εγενηθη κατ οφθαλμους παντος παροδευοντος

They will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden. The waste, desolate, and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.’

tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in my hand.

I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. One king will be king to them all. They will no longer be two nations. They won’t be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

They won’t defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. So they will be my people, and I will be their God.

“‘“My servant David will be king over them. They all will have one shepherd. They will also walk in my ordinances and observe my statutes, and do them.

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them. It will be an everlasting covenant with them. I will place them, multiply them, and will set my sanctuary among them forever more.

My tent also will be with them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

The nations will know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is among them forever more.”’”

και γνωσονται τα εθνη οτι εγω ειμι κυριος ο αγιαζων αυτους εν τω ειναι τα αγια μου εν μεσω αυτων εις τον αιωνα

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

And the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came unto me, saying, H559 (QalInf)

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

“‘“Be prepared, yes, prepare yourself, you, and all your companies who are assembled to you, and be a guard to them.

Be thou prepared, H3559 (NiphImpv) and prepare H3559 (HiphImpv) for thyself, thou, and all thy company H6951 that are assembled H6950 (NiphPtc) unto thee, and be thou a guard H4929 unto them.

ετοιμασθητι ετοιμασον σεαυτον συ και πασα η συναγωγη σου οι συνηγμενοι μετα σου και εση μοι εις προφυλακην

After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, on the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought out of the peoples and they will dwell securely, all of them.

After many H7227 days H3117 thou shalt be visited: H6485 (NiphImpf) in the latter H319 years H8141 thou shalt come H935 (QalImpf) into the land H776 that is brought back H7725 (PulaPtc) from the sword, H2719 and is gathered H6908 (PualPtc) out of many H7227 people, H5971 against the mountains H2022 of Israel, H3478 which have been always H8548 waste: H2723 but it is brought forth H3318 (HophPerf) out of the nations, H5971 and they shall dwell H3427 (QalPerf) safely H983 all of them.

αφ ημερων πλειονων ετοιμασθησεται και επ εσχατου ετων ελευσεται και ηξει εις την γην την απεστραμμενην απο μαχαιρας συνηγμενων απο εθνων πολλων επι γην ισραηλ η εγενηθη ερημος δι ολου και ουτος εξ εθνων εξεληλυθεν και κατοικησουσιν επ ειρηνης απαντες

You will ascend. You will come like a storm. You will be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you.”

και αναβηση ως υετος και ηξεις ως νεφελη κατακαλυψαι γην και εση συ και παντες οι περι σε και εθνη πολλα μετα σου

“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “It will happen in that day that things will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil plan.

Yahweh said to me, “This gate shall be shut. It shall not be opened, no man shall enter in by it; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has entered in by it. Therefore it shall be shut.

Then said H559 (QalImpf) the Lord H3068 unto me; This gate H8179 shall be shut, H5462 (QalPasPtc) it shall not be opened, H6605 (NiphImpf) and no man H376 shall enter H935 (QalImpf) in by it; because the Lord, H3068 the God H430 of Israel, H3478 hath entered H935 (QalPerf) in by it, therefore it shall be shut. και ειπεν κυριος προς με η πυλη αυτη κεκλεισμενη εσται ουκ ανοιχθησεται και ουδεις μη διελθη δι αυτης οτι κυριος ο θεος του ισραηλ εισελευσεται δι αυτης και εσται κεκλεισμενη

Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house, and ministering in the house. They shall kill the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them.

Yet they shall be ministers H8334 (PielPtc) in my sanctuary, H4720 having charge H6486 at the gates H8179 of the house, H1004 and ministering H8334 (PielPtc) to the house: H1004 they shall slay H7819 (QalImpf) the burnt offering H5930 and the sacrifice H2077 for the people, H5971 and they shall stand H5975 (QalImpf) before H6440 them to minister H8334 (PielInf) unto them.

και εσονται εν τοις αγιοις μου λειτουργουντες θυρωροι επι των πυλων του οικου και λειτουργουντες τω οικω ουτοι σφαξουσιν τα ολοκαυτωματα και τας θυσιας τω λαω και ουτοι στησονται εναντιον του λαου του λειτουργειν αυτοις

Because they ministered to them before their idols, and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I have lifted up my hand against them,” says the Lord Yahweh, “and they will bear their iniquity.

ανθ ων ελειτουργουν αυτοις προ προσωπου των ειδωλων αυτων και εγενετο τω οικω ισραηλ εις κολασιν αδικιας ενεκα τουτου ηρα την χειρα μου επ αυτους λεγει κυριος ο θεος

“‘“It will be that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments. No wool shall come on them while they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.

And it shall come to pass, that when they enter H935 (QalInf) in at the gates H8179 of the inner H6442 court, H2691 they shall be clothed H3847 (QalImpf) with linen H6593 garments; H899 and no wool H6785 shall come H5927 (QalImpf) upon them, whiles they minister H8334 (PielInf) in the gates H8179 of the inner H6442 court, H2691 and within. και εσται εν τω εισπορευεσθαι αυτους τας πυλας της αυλης της εσωτερας στολας λινας ενδυσονται και ουκ ενδυσονται ερεα εν τω λειτουργειν αυτους απο της πυλης της εσωτερας αυλης

They shall have linen turbans on their heads, and shall have linen trousers on their waists. They shall not clothe themselves with anything that makes them sweat.

They shall have linen H6593 bonnets H6287 upon their heads, H7218 and shall have linen H6593 breeches H4370 upon their loins; H4975 they shall not gird H2296 (QalImpf) themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.^§ H3154

και κιδαρεις λινας εξουσιν επι ταις κεφαλαις αυτων και περισκελη λινα εξουσιν επι τας οσφυας αυτων και ου περιζωσονται βια

They shall not take for their wives a widow, or her who is put away; but they shall take virgins of the offspring of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest.

“‘“They shall go in to no dead person to defile themselves; but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister who has had no husband, they may defile themselves.

και επι ψυχην ανθρωπου ουκ εισελευσονται του μιανθηναι αλλ η επι πατρι και επι μητρι και επι υιω και επι θυγατρι και επι αδελφω και επι αδελφη αυτου η ου γεγονεν ανδρι μιανθησεται

“‘They shall have an inheritance: I am their inheritance; and you shall give them no possession in Israel. I am their possession.

And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: H5159 I am their inheritance: H5159 and ye shall give H5414 (QalImpf) them no possession H272 in Israel: H3478 I am their possession. H272

και εσται αυτοις εις κληρονομιαν εγω κληρονομια αυτοις και κατασχεσις αυτοις ου δοθησεται εν τοις υιοις ισραηλ οτι εγω κατασχεσις αυτων

They shall eat the meal offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; and every devoted thing in Israel shall be theirs.

The first of all the first fruits of every thing, and every offering of everything, of all your offerings, shall be for the priest. You shall also give to the priests the first of your dough, to cause a blessing to rest on your house.
