He set up the pillars at the porch of the temple. He set up the right pillar and called its name Jachin; and he set up the left pillar and called its name Boaz.

It was so, that when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to Yahweh, he arose from before Yahweh’s altar, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread out toward heaven.

Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon: Hadad the Edomite. He was one of the king’s offspring in Edom.

And the Lord H3068 stirred up H6965 (HiphImpf) an adversary H7854 unto Solomon, H8010 Hadad H1908 the Edomite: H130 he was of the king’s H4428 seed H2233 in Edom. H123

God raised up an adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah.

Therefore Solomon sought to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam arose and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

και εζητησεν σαλωμων θανατωσαι τον ιεροβοαμ και ανεστη και απεδρα εις αιγυπτον προς σουσακιμ βασιλεα αιγυπτου και ην εν αιγυπτω εως ου απεθανεν σαλωμων

So the king didn’t listen to the people; for it was a thing brought about from Yahweh, that he might establish his word, which Yahweh spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

και ουκ ηκουσεν ο βασιλευς του λαου οτι ην μεταστροφη παρα κυριου οπως στηση το ρημα αυτου ο ελαλησεν εν χειρι αχια του σηλωνιτου περι ιεροβοαμ υιου ναβατ

Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please get up and disguise yourself, so that you won’t be recognized as Jeroboam’s wife. Go to Shiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, who said that I would be king over this people.

Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose and went to Shiloh, and came to Ahijah’s house. Now Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
