και εκδικησω επ αυτους τεσσαρα ειδη λεγει κυριος την μαχαιραν εις σφαγην και τους κυνας εις διασπασμον και τα θηρια της γης και τα πετεινα του ουρανου εις βρωσιν και εις διαφθοραν

“They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”

εν θανατω νοσερω αποθανουνται ου κοπησονται και ου ταφησονται εις παραδειγμα επι προσωπου της γης εσονται και τοις θηριοις της γης και τοις πετεινοις του ουρανου εν μαχαιρα πεσουνται και εν λιμω συντελεσθησονται

“‘“I will make the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem void in this place. I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. I will give their dead bodies to be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

και σφαξω την βουλην ιουδα και την βουλην ιερουσαλημ εν τω τοπω τουτω και καταβαλω αυτους εν μαχαιρα εναντιον των εχθρων αυτων και εν χερσιν των ζητουντων τας ψυχας αυτων και δωσω τους νεκρους αυτων εις βρωσιν τοις πετεινοις του ουρανου και τοις θηριοις της γης

The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, will be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the army of the sky and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.”’”

and the houses H1004 of Jerusalem, H3389 and the houses H1004 of the kings H4428 of Judah, H3063 shall be defiled H2931 as the place H4725 of Tophet, H8612 because of all the houses H1004 upon whose roofs H1406 they have burned incense H6999 (PielPerf) unto all the host H6635 of heaven, H8064 and have poured out H5258 (HiphInf) drink offerings H5262 unto other H312 gods. και οι οικοι ιερουσαλημ και οι οικοι βασιλεων ιουδα εσονται καθως ο τοπος ο διαπιπτων των ακαθαρσιων εν πασαις ταις οικιαις εν αις εθυμιασαν επι των δωματων αυτων παση τη στρατια του ουρανου και εσπεισαν σπονδας θεοις αλλοτριοις

Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh.

ει κρυβησεται ανθρωπος εν κρυφαιοις και εγω ουκ οψομαι αυτον μη ουχι τον ουρανον και την γην εγω πληρω λεγει κυριος

Yahweh says: “If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done,” says Yahweh.

“Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you.

As the army of the sky can’t be counted, and the sand of the sea can’t be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me.’”

As the host H6635 of heaven H8064 cannot be numbered, H5608 (NiphImpf) neither the sand H2344 of the sea H3220 measured: H4058 (NiphImpf) so will I multiply H7235 (HiphImpf) the seed H2233 of David H1732 my servant, H5650 and the Levites H3881 that minister H8334 (PielPtc) unto me.

Yahweh says: “If my covenant of day and night fails, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth,

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 If my covenant H1285 be not with day H3119 and night, H3915 and if I have not appointed H7760 (QalPerf) the ordinances H2708 of heaven H8064 and earth; H776

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

^[41:20] και δωσω αυτους τοις εχθροις αυτων και εσται τα θνησιμαια αυτων βρωσις τοις πετεινοις του ουρανου και τοις θηριοις της γης

But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”

But since we left off H2308 (QalPerf) to burn incense H6999 (PielInf) to the queen H4446 of heaven, H8064 and to pour out H5258 (HiphInf) drink offerings H5262 unto her, we have wanted H2637 (QalPerf) all things, and have been consumed H8552 (QalPerf) by the sword H2719 and by the famine. H7458

^[51:18] και ως διελιπομεν θυμιωντες τη βασιλισση του ουρανου ηλαττωθημεν παντες και εν ρομφαια και εν λιμω εξελιπομεν

The women said, “When we burned incense to the queen of the sky and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?”

And when we burned incense H6999 (PielPtc) to the queen H4446 of heaven, H8064 and poured out H5258 (HiphInf) drink offerings H5262 unto her, did we make H6213 (QalPerf) her cakes H3561 to worship H6087 (HiphInf) her, and pour out H5258 (HiphInf) drink offerings H5262 unto her, without H1107 our men?^§ H582

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, “We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her.” “‘Establish then your vows, and perform your vows.’

^[51:25] ουτως ειπεν κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ υμεις γυναικες τω στοματι υμων ελαλησατε και ταις χερσιν υμων επληρωσατε λεγουσαι ποιουσαι ποιησομεν τας ομολογιας ημων ας ωμολογησαμεν θυμιαν τη βασιλισση του ουρανου και σπενδειν αυτη σπονδας εμμεινασαι ενεμεινατε ταις ομολογιαις υμων και ποιουσαι εποιησατε

I will bring on Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds. There will be no nation where the outcasts of Elam will not come.

“We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed. Forsake her, and let’s each go into his own country; for her judgment reaches to heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
