Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, “Surely Yahweh is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”

ο δε ειπεν τις σε κατεστησεν αρχοντα και δικαστην εφ ημων μη ανελειν με συ θελεις ον τροπον ανειλες εχθες τον αιγυπτιον εφοβηθη δε μωυσης και ειπεν ει ουτως εμφανες γεγονεν το ρημα τουτο

Then Samuel said, “Bring Agag the king of the Amalekites here to me!” Agag came to him cheerfully. Agag said, “Surely the bitterness of death is past.”

και ειπεν σαμουηλ προσαγαγετε μοι τον αγαγ βασιλεα αμαληκ και προσηλθεν προς αυτον αγαγ τρεμων και ειπεν αγαγ ει ουτως πικρος ο θανατος

εκ των εθνων ων απειπεν κυριος τοις υιοις ισραηλ ουκ εισελευσεσθε εις αυτους και αυτοι ουκ εισελευσονται εις υμας μη εκκλινωσιν τας καρδιας υμων οπισω ειδωλων αυτων εις αυτους εκολληθη σαλωμων του αγαπησαι

^[30:23] εγω δε ειπα εν τη εκστασει μου απερριμμαι αρα απο προσωπου των οφθαλμων σου δια τουτο εισηκουσας της φωνης της δεησεως μου εν τω κεκραγεναι με προς σε

But most certainly, God has listened. He has heard the voice of my prayer.

The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.

εξηρανθη ο χορτος και το ανθος εξεπεσεν

Most certainly you are a God who has hidden yourself, God of Israel, the Savior.’ ”

συ γαρ ει θεος και ουκ ηδειμεν ο θεος του ισραηλ σωτηρ

But I said, “I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength in vain for nothing; yet surely the justice due to me is with Yahweh, and my reward with my God.”

και εγω ειπα κενως εκοπιασα και εις ματαιον και εις ουδεν εδωκα την ισχυν μου δια τουτο η κρισις μου παρα κυριω και ο πονος μου εναντιον του θεου μου

Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.

ουτος τας αμαρτιας ημων φερει και περι ημων οδυναται και ημεις ελογισαμεθα αυτον ειναι εν πονω και εν πληγη και εν κακωσει

“Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so you have dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel,” says Yahweh.

Truly help from the hills, the tumult on the mountains, is in vain. Truly the salvation of Israel is in Yahweh our God.

οντως εις ψευδος ησαν οι βουνοι και η δυναμις των ορεων πλην δια κυριου θεου ημων η σωτηρια του ισραηλ

Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Surely you have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You will have peace;’ whereas the sword reaches to the heart.”

και ειπα ω δεσποτα κυριε αρα γε απατων ηπατησας τον λαον τουτον και την ιερουσαλημ λεγων ειρηνη εσται υμιν και ιδου ηψατο η μαχαιρα εως της ψυχης αυτων

“ ‘How do you say, “We are wise, and Yahweh’s law is with us”? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made that a lie.

πως ερειτε οτι σοφοι εσμεν ημεις και νομος κυριου εστιν μεθ ημων εις ματην εγενηθη σχοινος ψευδης γραμματευσιν

I said, “Just fear me. Receive correction,” so that her dwelling won’t be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her. But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

ειπα πλην φοβεισθε με και δεξασθε παιδειαν και ου μη εξολεθρευθητε εξ οφθαλμων αυτης παντα οσα εξεδικησα επ αυτην ετοιμαζου ορθρισον διεφθαρται πασα η επιφυλλις αυτων
