The fat of that which dies of itself, and the fat of that which is torn of animals, may be used for any other service, but you shall in no way eat of it.

You shall not eat their meat. You shall not touch their carcasses. They are unclean to you.

and you shall detest them. You shall not eat of their meat, and you shall detest their carcasses.

“ ‘By these you will become unclean: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.

Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.

Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces. They are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.

Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is gathered shall be clean, but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.

If part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

Your dead bodies will be food to all birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth; and there will be no one to frighten them away.

When he had gone, a lion met him by the way and killed him. His body was thrown on the path, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the body.

He went and found his body thrown on the path, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body nor mauled the donkey.

και επορευθη και ευρεν το σωμα αυτου ερριμμενον εν τη οδω και ο ονος και ο λεων ειστηκεισαν παρα το σωμα και ουκ εφαγεν ο λεων το σωμα του ανθρωπου του θεου και ου συνετριψεν τον ονον

The prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it on the donkey, and brought it back. He came to the city of the old prophet to mourn, and to bury him.

And the prophet H5030 took up H5375 (QalImpf) the carcase H5038 of the man H376 of God, H430 and laid H3240 (HiphImpf) it upon the ass, H2543 and brought it back: H7725 (HiphImpf) and the old H2205 prophet H5030 came H935 (QalImpf) to the city, H5892 to mourn H5594 (QalInf) and to bury H6912 (QalInf) him.

He laid his body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, “Alas, my brother!”

They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.

Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.

Your dead shall live. Their dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth will cast out the departed spirits.

The dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. No one will frighten them away.

“They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”

εν θανατω νοσερω αποθανουνται ου κοπησονται και ου ταφησονται εις παραδειγμα επι προσωπου της γης εσονται και τοις θηριοις της γης και τοις πετεινοις του ουρανου εν μαχαιρα πεσουνται και εν λιμω συντελεσθησονται

First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”

“ ‘ “I will make the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem void in this place. I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. I will give their dead bodies to be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

They fetched Uriah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

^[33:23] και εξηγαγοσαν αυτον εκειθεν και εισηγαγοσαν αυτον προς τον βασιλεα και επαταξεν αυτον εν μαχαιρα και ερριψεν αυτον εις το μνημα υιων λαου αυτου

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

I will even give H5414 (QalPerf) them into the hand H3027 of their enemies, H341 (QalActPtc) and into the hand H3027 of them that seek H1245 (PielPtc) their life: H5315 and their dead bodies H5038 shall be for meat H3978 unto the fowls H5775 of the heaven, H8064 and to the beasts H929 of the earth. ^[41:20] και δωσω αυτους τοις εχθροις αυτων και εσται τα θνησιμαια αυτων βρωσις τοις πετεινοις του ουρανου και τοις θηριοις της γης

Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: “He will have no one to sit on David’s throne. His dead body will be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of Jehoiakim H3079 king H4428 of Judah; H3063 He shall have none to sit H3427 (QalActPtc) upon the throne H3678 of David: H1732 and his dead body H5038 shall be cast out H7993 (HophPtc) in the day H3117 to the heat, H2721 and in the night H3915 to the frost. ^[43:30] δια τουτο ουτως ειπεν κυριος επι ιωακιμ βασιλεα ιουδα ουκ εσται αυτω καθημενος επι θρονου δαυιδ και το θνησιμαιον αυτου εσται ερριμμενον εν τω καυματι της ημερας και εν τω παγετω της νυκτος

Then I said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, my soul has not been polluted; for from my youth up even until now I have not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn of animals. No abominable meat has come into my mouth!”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) I, Ah H162 Lord H136 God! H3069 behold, my soul H5315 hath not been polluted: H2930 (PualPtc) for from my youth H5271 up even till now have I not eaten H398 (QalPerf) of that which dieth of itself, H5038 or is torn in pieces; H2966 neither came H935 (QalPerf) there abominable H6292 flesh H1320 into my mouth. και ειπα μηδαμως κυριε θεε του ισραηλ ιδου η ψυχη μου ου μεμιανται εν ακαθαρσια και θνησιμαιον και θηριαλωτον ου βεβρωκα απο γενεσεως μου εως του νυν ουδε εισεληλυθεν εις το στομα μου παν κρεας εωλον

The priests shall not eat of anything that dies of itself or is torn, whether it is bird or animal.

The priests H3548 shall not eat H398 (QalImpf) of any thing that is dead of itself, H5038 or torn, H2966 whether it be fowl H5775 or beast. H929

και παν θνησιμαιον και θηριαλωτον εκ των πετεινων και εκ των κτηνων ου φαγονται οι ιερεις
