και παντες οι υιοι ισραηλ εωρων καταβαινον το πυρ και η δοξα κυριου επι τον οικον και επεσον επι προσωπον επι την γην επι το λιθοστρωτον και προσεκυνησαν και ηνουν τω κυριω οτι αγαθον οτι εις τον αιωνα το ελεος αυτου

But if you turn away and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,

και εαν αποστρεψητε υμεις και εγκαταλιπητε τα προσταγματα μου και τας εντολας μου ας εδωκα εναντιον υμων και πορευθητε και λατρευσητε θεοις ετεροις και προσκυνησητε αυτοις

They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’ ”

και ερουσιν διοτι εγκατελιπον κυριον τον θεον των πατερων αυτων τον εξαγαγοντα αυτους εκ γης αιγυπτου και αντελαβοντο θεων ετερων και προσεκυνησαν αυτοις και εδουλευσαν αυτοις δια τουτο επηγαγεν επ αυτους πασαν την κακιαν ταυτην

Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before Yahweh, worshiping Yahweh.

Now after the death of Jehoiada, the princes of Judah came and bowed down to the king. Then the king listened to them.

Now after Amaziah had come from the slaughter of the Edomites, he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them and burned incense to them.

All the assembly worshiped, the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

When they had finished offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.

Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to Yahweh with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

ουχ ουτος εστιν εζεκιας ος περιειλεν τα θυσιαστηρια αυτου και τα υψηλα αυτου και ειπεν τω ιουδα και τοις κατοικουσιν ιερουσαλημ λεγων κατεναντι του θυσιαστηριου τουτου προσκυνησετε και επ αυτω θυμιασετε

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he raised up altars for the Baals, made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.

και επεστρεψεν και ωκοδομησεν τα υψηλα α κατεσπασεν εζεκιας ο πατηρ αυτου και εστησεν στηλας ταις βααλιμ και εποιησεν αλση και προσεκυνησεν παση τη στρατια του ουρανου και εδουλευσεν αυτοις

Then Ezra blessed Yahweh, the great God. All the people answered, “Amen, Amen,” with the lifting up of their hands. They bowed their heads, and worshiped Yahweh with their faces to the ground.

You are Yahweh, even you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their army, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve them all. The army of heaven worships you.

και ειπεν εσδρας συ ει αυτος κυριος μονος συ εποιησας τον ουρανον και τον ουρανον του ουρανου και πασαν την στασιν αυτων την γην και παντα οσα εστιν εν αυτη τας θαλασσας και παντα τα εν αυταις και συ ζωοποιεις τα παντα και σοι προσκυνουσιν αι στρατιαι των ουρανων

All the king’s servants who were in the king’s gate bowed down and paid homage to Haman, for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai didn’t bow down or pay him homage.

When Haman saw that Mordecai didn’t bow down nor pay him homage, Haman was full of wrath.

και επιγνους αμαν οτι ου προσκυνει αυτω μαρδοχαιος εθυμωθη σφοδρα

Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped.

But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you.

^[5:8] εγω δε εν τω πληθει του ελεους σου εισελευσομαι εις τον οικον σου προσκυνησω προς ναον αγιον σου εν φοβω σου

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to Yahweh. All the relatives of the nations shall worship before you.

^[21:28] μνησθησονται και επιστραφησονται προς κυριον παντα τα περατα της γης και προσκυνησουσιν ενωπιον σου πασαι αι πατριαι των εθνων

All the rich ones of the earth shall eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust shall bow before him, even he who can’t keep his soul alive.

Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Worship Yahweh in holy array.

^[28:2] ενεγκατε τω κυριω δοξαν ονοματι αυτου προσκυνησατε τω κυριω εν αυλη αγια αυτου

So the king will desire your beauty, honor him, for he is your lord.

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.

In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,

It will happen in that day that a great trumpet will be blown; and those who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and those who were outcasts in the land of Egypt, shall come; and they will worship Yahweh in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

But if you tell me, ‘We trust in Yahweh our God,’ isn’t that he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘You shall worship before this altar’?”

ει δε λεγετε επι κυριον τον θεον ημων πεποιθαμεν

As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.

Then it will be for a man to burn; and he takes some of it and warms himself. Yes, he burns it and bakes bread. Yes, he makes a god and worships it; he makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.

ινα η ανθρωποις εις καυσιν και λαβων απ αυτου εθερμανθη και καυσαντες επεψαν αρτους επ αυτων το δε λοιπον ειργασαντο εις θεους και προσκυνουσιν αυτους

The rest of it he makes into a god, even his engraved image. He bows down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”

το δε λοιπον εποιησεν εις θεον γλυπτον και προσκυνει αυτω και προσευχεται λεγων εξελου με οτι θεος μου ει συ

Yahweh says: “The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, men of stature, will come over to you, and they will be yours. They will go after you. They shall come over in chains. They will bow down to you. They will make supplication to you: ‘Surely God is in you; and there is no one else. There is no other god.

ουτως λεγει κυριος σαβαωθ εκοπιασεν αιγυπτος και εμπορια αιθιοπων και οι σεβωιν ανδρες υψηλοι επι σε διαβησονται και σοι εσονται δουλοι και οπισω σου ακολουθησουσιν δεδεμενοι χειροπεδαις και προσκυνησουσιν σοι και εν σοι προσευξονται οτι εν σοι ο θεος εστιν και ερουσιν ουκ εστιν θεος πλην σου

Some pour out gold from the bag, and weigh silver in the balance. They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god. They fall down— yes, they worship.

οι συμβαλλομενοι χρυσιον εκ μαρσιππιου και αργυριον εν ζυγω στησουσιν εν σταθμω και μισθωσαμενοι χρυσοχοον εποιησαν χειροποιητα και κυψαντες προσκυνουσιν αυτοις

Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

ουτως λεγει κυριος ο ρυσαμενος σε ο θεος ισραηλ αγιασατε τον φαυλιζοντα την ψυχην αυτου τον βδελυσσομενον υπο των εθνων των δουλων των αρχοντων βασιλεις οψονται αυτον και αναστησονται αρχοντες και προσκυνησουσιν αυτω ενεκεν κυριου οτι πιστος εστιν ο αγιος ισραηλ και εξελεξαμην σε

Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me won’t be disappointed.”

και εσονται βασιλεις τιθηνοι σου αι δε αρχουσαι τροφοι σου επι προσωπον της γης προσκυνησουσιν σοι και τον χουν των ποδων σου λειξουσιν και γνωση οτι εγω κυριος και ουκ αισχυνθηση

I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, ‘Bow down, that we may walk over you;’ and you have laid your back as the ground, like a street to those who walk over.”

και εμβαλω αυτο εις τας χειρας των αδικησαντων σε και των ταπεινωσαντων σε οι ειπαν τη ψυχη σου κυψον ινα παρελθωμεν και εθηκας ισα τη γη τα μεταφρενα σου εξω τοις παραπορευομενοις

The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you; and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. They will call you Yahweh’s City, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

και πορευσονται προς σε δεδοικοτες υιοι ταπεινωσαντων σε και παροξυναντων σε και κληθηση πολις κυριου σιων αγιου ισραηλ

It shall happen that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh will come to worship before me,” says Yahweh.

I will utter my judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.
