δια τουτο κλαυσομαι ως τον κλαυθμον ιαζηρ αμπελον σεβαμα τα δενδρα σου κατεβαλεν εσεβων και ελεαλη οτι επι τω θερισμω και επι τω τρυγητω σου καταπατησω και παντα πεσουνται

He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord Yahweh will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for Yahweh has spoken it.

Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters.

“You shall say this word to them: “ ‘Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.

και ερεις προς αυτους τον λογον τουτον καταγαγετε επ οφθαλμους υμων δακρυα ημερας και νυκτος και μη διαλιπετωσαν οτι συντριμματι συνετριβη θυγατηρ λαου μου και πληγη οδυνηρα σφοδρα

Yahweh says: “Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,” says Yahweh. “They will come again from the land of the enemy.

^[38:16] ουτως ειπεν κυριος διαλιπετω η φωνη σου απο κλαυθμου και οι οφθαλμοι σου απο δακρυων σου οτι εστιν μισθος τοις σοις εργοις και επιστρεψουσιν εκ γης εχθρων

She weeps bitterly in the night. Her tears are on her cheeks. Among all her lovers she has no one to comfort her. All her friends have dealt treacherously with her. They have become her enemies.

κλαιουσα εκλαυσεν εν νυκτι και τα δακρυα αυτης επι των σιαγονων αυτης και ουχ υπαρχει ο παρακαλων αυτην απο παντων των αγαπωντων αυτην παντες οι φιλουντες αυτην ηθετησαν εν αυτη εγενοντο αυτη εις εχθρους

My eyes fail with tears. My heart is troubled. My bile is poured on the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, because the young children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city.

εξελιπον εν δακρυσιν οι οφθαλμοι μου εταραχθη η καρδια μου εξεχυθη εις γην η δοξα μου επι το συντριμμα της θυγατρος του λαου μου εν τω εκλιπειν νηπιον και θηλαζοντα εν πλατειαις πολεως

Their heart cried to the Lord. O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night. Give yourself no relief. Don’t let your eyes rest.

εβοησεν καρδια αυτων προς κυριον τειχη σιων καταγαγετε ως χειμαρρους δακρυα ημερας και νυκτος μη δως εκνηψιν σεαυτη μη σιωπησαιτο θυγατερ ο οφθαλμος σου

“Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.
