The king spoke to Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in some of the children of Israel, even of the royal offspring§ and of the nobles:

And the king saith, to Ashpenaz master of his eunuchs, to bring in out of the sons of Israel, (even of the royal seed, and of the chiefs,)

The prince of the eunuchs gave names to them: to Daniel he gave the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.
Unto whom the prince H8269 of the eunuchs H5631 gave H7760 (8799) names H8034: for he gave H7760 (8799) unto Daniel H1840 [the name] of Belteshazzar H1095; and to Hananiah H2608, of Shadrach H7714; and to Mishael H4332, of Meshach H4335; and to Azariah H5838, of Abednego H5664.
and the chief of the eunuchs setteth names on them, and he setteth on Daniel, Belteshazzar; and on Hananiah, Shadrach; and on Mishael, Meshach; and on Azariah, Abed-Nego.

The prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink. For why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths who are of your own age? Then you would endanger my head with the king.”
And the prince H8269 of the eunuchs H5631 said H559 (8799) unto Daniel H1840, I fear H3373 my lord H113 the king H4428, who hath appointed H4487 (8765) your meat H3978 and your drink H4960: for why should he see H7200 (8799) your faces H6440 worse liking H2196 (8802) than the children H3206 which [are] of your sort H1524? then shall ye make [me] endanger H2325 (8765) my head H7218 to the king H4428.
and the chief of the eunuchs saith to Daniel, ‘I am fearing my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink, for why doth he see your faces sadder than those of the lads which are of your circle? then ye have made my head indebted to the king,’

Now God made Daniel find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.
Now God H430 had brought H5414 (8799) Daniel H1840 into favour H2617 and tender love H7356 with H6440 the prince H8269 of the eunuchs H5631.
And God giveth Daniel for kindness and for mercies before the chief of the eunuchs;

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank. Therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
But Daniel H1840 purposed H7760 (8799) in his heart H3820 that he would not defile H1351 (8691) himself with the portion H6598 of the king’s H4428 meat H6598, nor with the wine H3196 which he drank H4960: therefore he requested H1245 (8762) of the prince H8269 of the eunuchs H5631 that he might not defile H1351 (8691) himself.
And Daniel purposeth in his heart that he will not pollute himself with the king’s portion of food, and with the wine of his drinking, and he seeketh of the chief of the eunuchs that he may not pollute himself.

And Daniel saith unto the Meltzar, whom the chief of the eunuchs hath appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

At the end of the days which the king had appointed for bringing them in, the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
Now at the end H7117 of the days H3117 that the king H4428 had said H559 (8804) he should bring H935 (8687) them in, then the prince H8269 of the eunuchs H5631 brought H935 (8686) them in before H6440 Nebuchadnezzar H5019.
And at the end of the days that the king had said to bring them in, bring them in doth the chief of the eunuchs before Nebuchadnezzar.
