^[7:17] και τεσσαρες τροχοι χαλκοι τη μεχωνωθ τη μια και τα προσεχοντα χαλκα και τεσσαρα μερη αυτων ωμιαι υποκατω των λουτηρων

For Yahweh will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River,° because they have made their Asherah poles, provoking Yahweh to anger.

On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle: one hundred twenty thousand.

When the Syrians saw that they were defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and called out the Syrians who were beyond the River,^§ with Shophach the captain of the army of Hadadezer leading them.

και ειδεν συρος οτι ετροπωσατο αυτον ισραηλ και απεστειλεν αγγελους και εξηγαγον τον συρον εκ του περαν του ποταμου και σωφαχ αρχιστρατηγος δυναμεως αδρααζαρ εμπροσθεν αυτων

τω χεβρωνι ασαβιας και οι αδελφοι αυτου υιοι δυνατοι χιλιοι και επτακοσιοι επι της επισκεψεως του ισραηλ περαν του ιορδανου προς δυσμαις εις πασαν λειτουργιαν κυριου και εργασιαν του βασιλεως

Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).

και ηλθον και υπεδειξαν τω ιωσαφατ λεγοντες ηκει επι σε πληθος πολυ εκ περαν της θαλασσης απο συριας και ιδου εισιν εν ασασανθαμαρ αυτη εστιν ενγαδδι

They delivered the king’s commissions to the king’s local governors and to the governors beyond the River. So they supported the people and God’s house.

εξαιφνης πνευμα μεγα επηλθεν εκ της ερημου και ηψατο των τεσσαρων γωνιων της οικιας και επεσεν η οικια επι τα παιδια σου και ετελευτησαν εσωθην δε εγω μονος και ηλθον του απαγγειλαι σοι

In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.

Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;

ουαι γης πλοιων πτερυγες επεκεινα ποταμων αιθιοπιας

The things that you labored in will be like this: those who have trafficked with you from your youth will each wander in his own way. There will be no one to save you.

“Go up to Lebanon, and cry out. Lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers have been destroyed.

αναβηθι εις τον λιβανον και κεκραξον και εις την βασαν δος την φωνην σου και βοησον εις το περαν της θαλασσης οτι συνετριβησαν παντες οι ερασται σου

^[31:28] κατελιπον τας πολεις και ωκησαν εν πετραις οι κατοικουντες μωαβ εγενηθησαν ως περιστεραι νοσσευουσαι εν πετραις στοματι βοθυνου

Their camels will be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a plunder. I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their beards cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them,” says Yahweh.

^[30:27] και εσονται καμηλοι αυτων εις προνομην και πληθος κτηνων αυτων εις απωλειαν και λικμησω αυτους παντι πνευματι κεκαρμενους προ προσωπου αυτων εκ παντος περαν αυτων οισω την τροπην αυτων ειπεν κυριος

Each one went straight forward. Where the spirit was to go, they went. They didn’t turn when they went.

και εκατερον κατα προσωπον αυτου επορευετο ου αν ην το πνευμα πορευομενον επορευοντο και ουκ επεστρεφον

As for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves. They each went straight forward.

From beyond the rivers of Cush, my worshipers, even the daughter of my dispersed people, will bring my offering.
