Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

Pray to Yahweh; for there has been enough of mighty thunderings and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”

ευξασθε ουν περι εμου προς κυριον και παυσασθω του γενηθηναι φωνας θεου και χαλαζαν και πυρ και εξαποστελω υμας και ουκετι προσθησεσθε μενειν

The heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go, just as Yahweh had spoken through Moses.

και εσκληρυνθη η καρδια φαραω και ουκ εξαπεστειλεν τους υιους ισραηλ καθαπερ ελαλησεν κυριος τω μωυση

Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.

εισηλθεν δε μωυσης και ααρων εναντιον φαραω και ειπαν αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος των εβραιων εως τινος ου βουλει εντραπηναι με εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα λατρευσωσιν μοι

Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,

εαν δε μη θελης συ εξαποστειλαι τον λαον μου ιδου εγω επαγω ταυτην την ωραν αυριον ακριδα πολλην επι παντα τα ορια σου

Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh, their God. Don’t you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”

και λεγουσιν οι θεραποντες φαραω προς αυτον εως τινος εσται τουτο ημιν σκωλον εξαποστειλον τους ανθρωπους οπως λατρευσωσιν τω θεω αυτων η ειδεναι βουλει οτι απολωλεν αιγυπτος

He said to them, “Yahweh be with you if I let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.

And he said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Let the Lord H3068 be so with you, as I will let you go, H7971 (PielImpf) and your little ones: H2945 look H7200 (QalImpv) [to it]; for evil H7451 [is] before H6440 you.

και ειπεν προς αυτους εστω ουτως κυριος μεθ υμων καθοτι αποστελλω υμας μη και την αποσκευην υμων ιδετε οτι πονηρια προκειται υμιν

But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go.

But the Lord H3068 hardened H2388 (PielImpf) Pharaoh’s H6547 heart, H3820 so that he would not let the children H1121 of Israel H3478 go. H7971 (PielPerf)

και εσκληρυνεν κυριος την καρδιαν φαραω και ουκ εξαπεστειλεν τους υιους ισραηλ

But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let them go.

Yahweh said to Moses, “I will bring yet one more plague on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go. When he lets you go, he will surely thrust you out altogether.

Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go out of his land.

μωυσης δε και ααρων εποιησαν παντα τα σημεια και τα τερατα ταυτα εν γη αιγυπτω εναντιον φαραω εσκληρυνεν δε κυριος την καρδιαν φαραω και ουκ ηθελησεν εξαποστειλαι τους υιους ισραηλ εκ γης αιγυπτου

The Egyptians were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, “We are all dead men.”

ηνικα δε εσκληρυνεν φαραω εξαποστειλαι ημας απεκτεινεν παν πρωτοτοκον εν γη αιγυπτω απο πρωτοτοκων ανθρωπων εως πρωτοτοκων κτηνων δια τουτο εγω θυω τω κυριω παν διανοιγον μητραν τα αρσενικα και παν πρωτοτοκον των υιων μου λυτρωσομαι

When Pharaoh had let the people go, God didn’t lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt”;

The king of Egypt was told that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

και ανηγγελη τω βασιλει των αιγυπτιων οτι πεφευγεν ο λαος και μετεστραφη η καρδια φαραω και των θεραποντων αυτου επι τον λαον και ειπαν τι τουτο εποιησαμεν του εξαποστειλαι τους υιους ισραηλ του μη δουλευειν ημιν

In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.

And in the greatness H7230 of thine excellency H1347 thou hast overthrown H2040 (QalImpf) them that rose up against H6965 (QalPtc) thee: thou sentest forth H7971 (PielImpf) thy wrath, H2740 [which] consumed H398 (QalImpf) them as stubble. H7179

και τω πληθει της δοξης σου συνετριψας τους υπεναντιους απεστειλας την οργην σου και κατεφαγεν αυτους ως καλαμην

Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, received Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her away,

Moses let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way into his own land.

“If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

If he strikes out his male servant’s tooth, or his female servant’s tooth, he shall let the servant go free for his tooth’s sake.

“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten by letting his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.

If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

the oath of Yahweh shall be between them both, he has not put his hand on his neighbor’s goods; and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.

^[22:10] ορκος εσται του θεου ανα μεσον αμφοτερων η μην μη αυτον πεπονηρευσθαι καθ ολης της παρακαταθηκης του πλησιον και ουτως προσδεξεται ο κυριος αυτου και ουκ αποτεισει

“Behold, I send an angel before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

I will send my terror before you, and will confuse all the people to whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

και τον φοβον αποστελω ηγουμενον σου και εκστησω παντα τα εθνη εις ους συ εισπορευη εις αυτους και δωσω παντας τους υπεναντιους σου φυγαδας

I will send the hornet before you, which will drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before you.

And I will send H7971 (QalPerf) hornets H6880 before H6440 thee, which shall drive out H1644 (PielPerf) the Hivite, H2340 the Canaanite, H3669 and the Hittite, H2850 from before H6440 thee.

και αποστελω τας σφηκιας προτερας σου και εκβαλει τους αμορραιους και τους ευαιους και τους χαναναιους και τους χετταιους απο σου

He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to Yahweh.

And he sent H7971 (QalImpf) young men H5288 of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 which offered H5927 (HiphImpf) burnt offerings, H5930 and sacrificed H2076 (QalImpf) peace H8002 offerings H2077 of oxen H6499 unto the Lord. H3068

και εξαπεστειλεν τους νεανισκους των υιων ισραηλ και ανηνεγκαν ολοκαυτωματα και εθυσαν θυσιαν σωτηριου τω θεω μοσχαρια

He didn’t lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.

Moses said to Yahweh, “Behold, you tell me, ‘Bring up this people;’ and you haven’t let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’

He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field.

και περιρρανει επι τον καθαρισθεντα απο της λεπρας επτακις και καθαρος εσται και εξαποστελει το ορνιθιον το ζων εις το πεδιον

but he shall let the living bird go out of the city into the open field. So shall he make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean.”

But the goat on which the lot fell for the scapegoat shall be presented alive before Yahweh, to make atonement for him, to send him away as the scapegoat into the wilderness.

Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is ready.

The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

“He who lets the goat go as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

You shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

και ουχι πορευεσθε τοις νομιμοις των εθνων ους εξαποστελλω αφ υμων οτι ταυτα παντα εποιησαν και εβδελυξαμην αυτους

I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number. Your roads will become desolate.

και αποστελω εφ υμας τα θηρια τα αγρια της γης και κατεδεται υμας και εξαναλωσει τα κτηνη υμων και ολιγοστους ποιησει υμας και ερημωθησονται αι οδοι υμων

I will bring a sword upon you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant. You will be gathered together within your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you. You will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

και επαξω εφ υμας μαχαιραν εκδικουσαν δικην διαθηκης και καταφευξεσθε εις τας πολεις υμων και εξαποστελω θανατον εις υμας και παραδοθησεσθε εις χειρας εχθρων

You shall put both male and female outside of the camp so that they don’t defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell.”

απο αρσενικου εως θηλυκου εξαποστειλατε εξω της παρεμβολης και ου μη μιανουσιν τας παρεμβολας αυτων εν οις εγω καταγινομαι εν αυτοις

The children of Israel did so, and put them outside of the camp; as Yahweh spoke to Moses, so the children of Israel did.

“Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.”

αποστειλον σεαυτω ανδρας και κατασκεψασθωσαν την γην των χαναναιων ην εγω διδωμι τοις υιοις ισραηλ εις κατασχεσιν ανδρα ενα κατα φυλην κατα δημους πατριων αυτων αποστελεις αυτους παντα αρχηγον εξ αυτων

Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Yahweh. All of them were men who were heads of the children of Israel.

And Moses H4872 by the commandment H6310 of the Lord H3068 sent H7971 (QalImpf) them from the wilderness H4057 of Paran: H6290 all those men H582 [were] H1992 heads H7218 of the children H1121 of Israel. H3478

και εξαπεστειλεν αυτους μωυσης εκ της ερημου φαραν δια φωνης κυριου παντες ανδρες αρχηγοι υιων ισραηλ ουτοι

These are the names of the men who Moses sent to spy out the land. Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

ταυτα τα ονοματα των ανδρων ους απεστειλεν μωυσης κατασκεψασθαι την γην και επωνομασεν μωυσης τον αυση υιον ναυη ιησουν

Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.

και απεστειλεν αυτους μωυσης κατασκεψασθαι την γην χανααν και ειπεν προς αυτους αναβητε ταυτη τη ερημω και αναβησεσθε εις το ορος

They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us. Surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

και διηγησαντο αυτω και ειπαν ηλθαμεν εις την γην εις ην απεστειλας ημας γην ρεουσαν γαλα και μελι και ουτος ο καρπος αυτης

The men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him by bringing up an evil report against the land,

And the men, H582 which Moses H4872 sent H7971 (QalPerf) to search H8446 (QalInf) the land, H776 who returned, H7725 (QalImpf) and made all the congregation H5712 to murmur H3885 (HiphImpf) (Qere) H3885 (NiphImpf) against him, by bringing up H3318 (HiphInf) a slander H1681 upon the land, H776

και οι ανθρωποι ους απεστειλεν μωυσης κατασκεψασθαι την γην και παραγενηθεντες διεγογγυσαν κατ αυτης προς την συναγωγην εξενεγκαι ρηματα πονηρα περι της γης

Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, “We won’t come up!

And Moses H4872 sent H7971 (QalImpf) to call H7121 (QalInf) Dathan H1885 and Abiram, H48 the sons H1121 of Eliab: H446 which said, H559 (QalImpf) We will not come up: H5927 (QalImpf)

και απεστειλεν μωυσης καλεσαι δαθαν και αβιρων υιους ελιαβ και ειπαν ουκ αναβαινομεν
