και τον ιου υιον ναμεσσι χρισεις εις βασιλεα επι ισραηλ και τον ελισαιε υιον σαφατ απο αβελμαουλα χρισεις εις προφητην αντι σου

He who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.

And it shall come to pass, [that] him that escapeth H4422 (NiphPtc) the sword H2719 of Hazael H2371 shall Jehu H3058 slay: H4191 (HiphImpf) and him that escapeth H4422 (NiphPtc) from the sword H2719 of Jehu H3058 shall Elisha H477 slay. H4191 (HiphImpf)

και εσται τον σωζομενον εκ ρομφαιας αζαηλ θανατωσει ιου και τον σωζομενον εκ ρομφαιας ιου θανατωσει ελισαιε

So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. Elijah went over to him and put his mantle on him.

So he departed H3212 (QalImpf) thence, and found H4672 (QalImpf) Elisha H477 the son H1121 of Shaphat, H8202 who [was] plowing H2790 (QalActPtc) [with] twelve H8147 H6240 yoke H6776 [of oxen] before H6440 him, and he with the twelfth: H8147 H6240 and Elijah H452 passed H5674 (QalImpf) by him, and cast H7993 (HiphImpf) his mantle H155 upon him.

και απηλθεν εκειθεν και ευρισκει τον ελισαιε υιον σαφατ και αυτος ηροτρια εν βουσιν δωδεκα ζευγη βοων ενωπιον αυτου και αυτος εν τοις δωδεκα και επηλθεν επ αυτον και επερριψε την μηλωτην αυτου επ αυτον

When Yahweh was about to take Elijah up by a whirlwind into heaven, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

And it came to pass, when the Lord H3068 would take up H5927 (HiphInf) Elijah H452 into heaven H8064 by a whirlwind, H5591 that Elijah H452 went H3212 (QalImpf) with Elisha H477 from Gilgal. H1537

και εγενετο εν τω αναγειν κυριον τον ηλιου εν συσσεισμω ως εις τον ουρανον και επορευθη ηλιου και ελισαιε εκ γαλγαλων

Elijah said to Elisha, “Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah H452 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Elisha, H477 Tarry H3427 (QalImpv) here, I pray thee; for the Lord H3068 hath sent H7971 (QalPerf) me to Bethel. και ειπεν ηλιου προς ελισαιε καθου δη ενταυθα οτι κυριος απεσταλκεν με εως βαιθηλ και ειπεν ελισαιε ζη κυριος και ζη η ψυχη σου ει καταλειψω σε και ηλθον εις βαιθηλ

The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from over you today?” He said, “Yes, I know it. Hold your peace.”

And the sons H1121 of the prophets H5030 that [were] at Bethel H1008 came forth H3318 (QalImpf) to Elisha, H477 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Knowest H3045 (QalPerf) thou that the Lord H3068 will take away H3947 (QalActPtc) thy master H113 from thy head H7218 to day? και ηλθον οι υιοι των προφητων οι εν βαιθηλ προς ελισαιε και ειπον προς αυτον ει εγνως οτι κυριος σημερον λαμβανει τον κυριον σου επανωθεν της κεφαλης σου και ειπεν καγω εγνωκα σιωπατε

Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to Jericho.” He said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho.

και ειπεν ηλιου προς ελισαιε καθου δη ενταυθα οτι κυριος απεσταλκεν με εις ιεριχω και ειπεν ελισαιε ζη κυριος και ζη η ψυχη σου ει εγκαταλειψω σε και ηλθον εις ιεριχω

The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from over you today?” He answered, “Yes, I know it. Hold your peace.”

και ηγγισαν οι υιοι των προφητων οι εν ιεριχω προς ελισαιε και ειπαν προς αυτον ει εγνως οτι σημερον λαμβανει κυριος τον κυριον σου επανωθεν της κεφαλης σου και ειπεν και γε εγω εγνων σιωπατε

When they had gone over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be on me.”

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, H5674 (QalInf) that Elijah H452 said H559 (QalPerf) unto Elisha, H477 Ask H7592 (QalImpv) what I shall do H6213 (QalImpf) for thee, before I be taken away H3947 (NiphImpf) from thee. και εγενετο εν τω διαβηναι αυτους και ηλιου ειπεν προς ελισαιε αιτησαι τι ποιησω σοι πριν η αναλημφθηναι με απο σου και ειπεν ελισαιε γενηθητω δη διπλα εν πνευματι σου επ εμε

Elisha saw it, and he cried, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” He saw him no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.

And Elisha H477 saw H7200 (QalActPtc) [it], and he cried, H6817 (PielPtc) My father, H1 my father, H1 the chariot H7393 of Israel, H3478 and the horsemen H6571 thereof. και ελισαιε εωρα και εβοα πατερ πατερ αρμα ισραηλ και ιππευς αυτου και ουκ ειδεν αυτον ετι και επελαβετο των ιματιων αυτου και διερρηξεν αυτα εις δυο ρηγματα

He took Elijah’s mantle that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said, “Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” When he also had struck the waters, they were divided apart, and Elisha went over.

And he took H3947 (QalImpf) the mantle H155 of Elijah H452 that fell H5307 (QalPerf) from him, and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) the waters, H4325 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Where [is] the Lord H3068 God H430 of Elijah? και ελαβεν την μηλωτην ηλιου η επεσεν επανωθεν αυτου και επαταξεν το υδωρ και ου διεστη και ειπεν που ο θεος ηλιου αφφω και επαταξεν τα υδατα και διερραγησαν ενθα και ενθα και διεβη ελισαιε

When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho facing him saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

And when the sons H1121 of the prophets H5030 which [were] to view at Jericho H3405 saw H7200 (QalImpf) him, they said, H559 (QalImpf) The spirit H7307 of Elijah H452 doth rest H5117 (QalPerf) on Elisha. H477 And they came H935 (QalImpf) to meet H7125 (QalInf) him, and bowed H7812 (HithImpf) themselves to the ground H776 before him.

και ειδον αυτον οι υιοι των προφητων οι εν ιεριχω εξ εναντιας και ειπον επαναπεπαυται το πνευμα ηλιου επι ελισαιε και ηλθον εις συναντην αυτου και προσεκυνησαν αυτω επι την γην

The men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is barren.”

And the men H582 of the city H5892 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Elisha, H477 Behold, I pray thee, the situation H4186 of this city H5892 [is] pleasant, H2896 as my lord H113 seeth: H7200 (QalActPtc) but the water H4325 [is] naught, H7451 and the ground H776 barren. H7921 (PielPtc)

και ειπον οι ανδρες της πολεως προς ελισαιε ιδου η κατοικησις της πολεως αγαθη καθως ο κυριος βλεπει και τα υδατα πονηρα και η γη ατεκνουμενη

So the waters were healed to this day, according to Elisha’s word which he spoke.

So the waters H4325 were healed H7495 (NiphImpf) unto this day, H3117 according to the saying H1697 of Elisha H477 which he spake. H1696 (PielPerf)

και ιαθησαν τα υδατα εως της ημερας ταυτης κατα το ρημα ελισαιε ο ελαλησεν

But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered, “Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat H3092 said, H559 (QalImpf) [Is there] not here a prophet H5030 of the Lord, H3068 that we may enquire H1875 (QalImpf) of the Lord H3068 by him? και ειπεν ιωσαφατ ουκ εστιν ωδε προφητης του κυριου και επιζητησωμεν τον κυριον παρ αυτου και απεκριθη εις των παιδων βασιλεως ισραηλ και ειπεν ωδε ελισαιε υιος σαφατ ος επεχεεν υδωρ επι χειρας ηλιου

Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother.” The king of Israel said to him, “No, for Yahweh has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

And Elisha H477 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the king H4428 of Israel, H3478 What have I to do with thee? get H3212 (QalImpv) thee to the prophets H5030 of thy father, H1 and to the prophets H5030 of thy mother. Elisha said, “As Yahweh of Armies lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I respect the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you.

And Elisha H477 said, H559 (QalImpf) [As] the Lord H3068 of hosts H6635 liveth, H2416 before H6440 whom I stand, H5975 (QalPerf) surely, were it not that H3884 I regard H5375 (QalActPtc) the presence H6440 of Jehoshaphat H3092 the king H4428 of Judah, H3063 I would not look H5027 (HiphImpf) toward thee, nor see H7200 (QalImpf) thee.

και ειπεν ελισαιε ζη κυριος των δυναμεων ω παρεστην ενωπιον αυτου οτι ει μη προσωπον ιωσαφατ βασιλεως ιουδα εγω λαμβανω ει επεβλεψα προς σε και ειδον σε

Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”

Now there cried H6817 (QalPerf) a certain H259 woman H802 of the wives H802 of the sons H1121 of the prophets H5030 unto Elisha, H477 saying, H559 (QalInf) Thy servant H5650 my husband H376 is dead; H4191 (QalPerf) and thou knowest H3045 (QalPerf) that thy servant H5650 did fear H3373 the Lord: H3068 and the creditor H5383 (QalActPtc) is come H935 (QalPerf) to take H3947 (QalInf) unto him my two H8147 sons H3206 to be bondmen. και γυνη μια απο των υιων των προφητων εβοα προς ελισαιε λεγουσα ο δουλος σου ο ανηρ μου απεθανεν και συ εγνως οτι δουλος ην φοβουμενος τον κυριον και ο δανιστης ηλθεν λαβειν τους δυο υιους μου εαυτω εις δουλους

Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

And Elisha H477 said H559 (QalImpf) unto her, What shall I do H6213 (QalImpf) for thee? tell H5046 (HiphImpv) me, what hast H3426 thou in the house? H1004 And she said, H559 (QalImpf) Thine handmaid H8198 hath not any thing in the house, H1004 save a pot H610 of oil. H8081

και ειπεν ελισαιε τι ποιησω σοι αναγγειλον μοι τι εστιν σοι εν τω οικω η δε ειπεν ουκ εστιν τη δουλη σου ουθεν εν τω οικω οτι αλλ η ο αλειψομαι ελαιον

One day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.

And it fell on a day, H3117 that Elisha H477 passed H5674 (QalImpf) to Shunem, H7766 where [was] a great H1419 woman; H802 and she constrained H2388 (HiphImpf) him to eat H398 (QalInf) bread. H3899 And [so] it was, [that] as oft H1767 as he passed by, H5674 (QalInf) he turned H5493 (QalImpf) in thither to eat H398 (QalInf) bread. H3899

και εγενετο ημερα και διεβη ελισαιε εις σουμαν και εκει γυνη μεγαλη και εκρατησεν αυτον φαγειν αρτον και εγενετο αφ ικανου του εισπορευεσθαι αυτον εξεκλινεν του εκει φαγειν

The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.

And the woman H802 conceived, H2029 (QalImpf) and bare H3205 (QalImpf) a son H1121 at that season H4150 that Elisha H477 had said H1696 (PielPerf) unto her, according to the time H6256 of life. H2416

και εν γαστρι ελαβεν η γυνη και ετεκεν υιον εις τον καιρον τουτον ως η ωρα ζωσα ως ελαλησεν προς αυτην ελισαιε

When Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and lying on his bed.

And when Elisha H477 was come H935 (QalImpf) into the house, H1004 behold, the child H5288 was dead, H4191 (QalPtc) [and] laid H7901 (HophPtc) upon his bed. H4296

και εισηλθεν ελισαιε εις τον οικον και ιδου το παιδαριον τεθνηκος κεκοιμισμενον επι την κλινην αυτου

Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

And Elisha H477 came again H7725 (QalPerf) to Gilgal: H1537 and [there was] a dearth H7458 in the land; H776 and the sons H1121 of the prophets H5030 [were] sitting H3427 (QalActPtc) before H6440 him: and he said H559 (QalImpf) unto his servant, H5288 Set H8239 (QalImpv) on the great H1419 pot, H5518 and seethe H1310 (PielImpv) pottage H5138 for the sons H1121 of the prophets. και ελισαιε επεστρεψεν εις γαλγαλα και ο λιμος εν τη γη και οι υιοι των προφητων εκαθηντο ενωπιον αυτου και ειπεν ελισαιε τω παιδαριω αυτου επιστησον τον λεβητα τον μεγαν και εψε εψεμα τοις υιοις των προφητων

It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

And it was [so], when Elisha H477 the man H376 of God H430 had heard H8085 (QalInf) that the king H4428 of Israel H3478 had rent H7167 (QalPerf) his clothes, H899 that he sent H7971 (QalImpf) to the king, H4428 saying, H559 (QalInf) Wherefore hast thou rent H7167 (QalPerf) thy clothes? H899 let him come H935 (QalImpf) now to me, and he shall know H3045 (QalImpf) that there is H3426 a prophet H5030 in Israel. H3478

και εγενετο ως ηκουσεν ελισαιε οτι διερρηξεν ο βασιλευς ισραηλ τα ιματια εαυτου και απεστειλεν προς τον βασιλεα ισραηλ λεγων ινα τι διερρηξας τα ιματια σου ελθετω δη προς με ναιμαν και γνωτω οτι εστιν προφητης εν ισραηλ

So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

So Naaman H5283 came H935 (QalImpf) with his horses H5483 and with his chariot, H7393 and stood H5975 (QalImpf) at the door H6607 of the house H1004 of Elisha. H477

και ηλθεν ναιμαν εν ιππω και αρματι και εστη επι θυρας οικου ελισαιε

Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.”

And Elisha H477 sent H7971 (QalImpf) a messenger H4397 unto him, saying, H559 (QalInf) Go H1980 (QalInf) and wash H7364 (QalPerf) in Jordan H3383 seven H7651 times, H6471 and thy flesh H1320 shall come again H7725 (QalImpf) to thee, and thou shalt be clean. H2891 (QalImpv)

και απεστειλεν ελισαιε αγγελον προς αυτον λεγων πορευθεις λουσαι επτακις εν τω ιορδανη και επιστρεψει η σαρξ σου σοι και καθαρισθηση

But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As Yahweh lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”

But Gehazi, H1522 the servant H5288 of Elisha H477 the man H376 of God, H430 said, H559 (QalImpf) Behold, my master H113 hath spared H2820 (QalPerf) Naaman H5283 this Syrian, H761 in not receiving H3947 (QalInf) at his hands H3027 that which he brought: H935 (HiphPerf) but, [as] the Lord H3068 liveth, H2416 I will run H7323 (QalPerf) after H310 him, and take H3947 (QalPerf) somewhat H3972 of him.

και ειπεν γιεζι το παιδαριον ελισαιε ιδου εφεισατο ο κυριος μου του ναιμαν του συρου τουτου του μη λαβειν εκ χειρος αυτου α ενηνοχεν ζη κυριος οτι ει μη δραμουμαι οπισω αυτου και λημψομαι παρ αυτου τι

But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you come from, Gehazi?” He said, “Your servant went nowhere.”

But he went in, H935 (QalActPtc) and stood H5975 (QalImpf) before his master. H113 And Elisha H477 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Whence H370 [comest thou], Gehazi? H1522 And he said, H559 (QalImpf) Thy servant H5650 went H1980 (QalPerf) no whither. H575

και αυτος εισηλθεν και παρειστηκει προς τον κυριον αυτου και ειπεν προς αυτον ελισαιε ποθεν γιεζι και ειπεν γιεζι ου πεπορευται ο δουλος σου ενθα και ενθα

The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we live and meet with you is too small for us.

And the sons H1121 of the prophets H5030 said H559 (QalImpf) unto H6440 Elisha, H477 Behold now, the place H4725 where we dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) with thee is too strait H6862 for us.

και ειπον οι υιοι των προφητων προς ελισαιε ιδου δη ο τοπος εν ω ημεις οικουμεν ενωπιον σου στενος αφ ημων

One of his servants said, “No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

And one H259 of his servants H5650 said, H559 (QalImpf) None, my lord, H113 O king: H4428 but Elisha, H477 the prophet H5030 that [is] in Israel, H3478 telleth H5046 (HiphImpf) the king H4428 of Israel H3478 the words H1697 that thou speakest H1696 (PielImpf) in thy bedchamber. H2315 H4904

και ειπεν εις των παιδων αυτου ουχι κυριε μου βασιλευ οτι ελισαιε ο προφητης ο εν ισραηλ αναγγελλει τω βασιλει ισραηλ παντας τους λογους ους εαν λαλησης εν τω ταμιειω του κοιτωνος σου

Elisha prayed, and said, “Yahweh, please open his eyes, that he may see.” Yahweh opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.

And Elisha H477 prayed, H6419 (HithImpf) and said, H559 (QalImpf) Lord, H3068 I pray thee, open H6491 (QalImpv) his eyes, H5869 that he may see. H7200 (QalImpf) And the Lord H3068 opened H6491 (QalImpf) the eyes H5869 of the young man; H5288 and he saw: H7200 (QalImpf) and, behold, the mountain H2022 [was] full H4390 (QalPerf) of horses H5483 and chariots H7393 of fire H784 round about H5439 Elisha. και προσευξατο ελισαιε και ειπεν κυριε διανοιξον τους οφθαλμους του παιδαριου και ιδετω και διηνοιξεν κυριος τους οφθαλμους αυτου και ειδεν και ιδου το ορος πληρες ιππων και αρμα πυρος περικυκλω ελισαιε

When they came down to him, Elisha prayed to Yahweh, and said, “Please strike this people with blindness.” He struck them with blindness according to Elisha’s word.

And when they came down H3381 (QalImpf) to him, Elisha H477 prayed H6419 (HithImpf) unto the Lord, H3068 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Smite H5221 (HiphImpv) this people, H1471 I pray thee, with blindness. H5575 And he smote H5221 (HiphImpf) them with blindness H5575 according to the word H1697 of Elisha. H477

και κατεβησαν προς αυτον και προσηυξατο ελισαιε προς κυριον και ειπεν παταξον δη τουτο το εθνος αορασια και επαταξεν αυτους αορασια κατα το ρημα ελισαιε

Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, neither is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” He led them to Samaria.

και ειπεν προς αυτους ελισαιε ουχ αυτη η πολις και αυτη η οδος δευτε οπισω μου και απαξω υμας προς τον ανδρα ον ζητειτε και απηγαγεν αυτους εις σαμαρειαν

When they had come into Samaria, Elisha said, “Yahweh, open these men’s eyes, that they may see.” Yahweh opened their eyes, and they saw; and behold, they were in the middle of Samaria.

And it came to pass, when they were come H935 (QalInf) into Samaria, H8111 that Elisha H477 said, H559 (QalImpf) Lord, H3068 open H6491 (QalImpv) the eyes H5869 of these [men], that they may see. H7200 (QalImpf) And the Lord H3068 opened H6491 (QalImpf) their eyes, H5869 and they saw; H7200 (QalImpf) and, behold, [they were] in the midst H8432 of Samaria. H8111

και εγενετο ως εισηλθον εις σαμαρειαν και ειπεν ελισαιε ανοιξον δη κυριε τους οφθαλμους αυτων και ιδετωσαν και διηνοιξεν κυριος τους οφθαλμους αυτων και ειδον και ιδου ησαν εν μεσω σαμαρειας

The king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, “My father, shall I strike them? Shall I strike them?”

And the king H4428 of Israel H3478 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Elisha, H477 when he saw H7200 (QalInf) them, My father, H1 shall I smite H5221 (HiphImpf) [them]? shall I smite H5221 (HiphImpf) [them]?

και ειπεν ο βασιλευς ισραηλ ως ειδεν αυτους ει παταξας παταξω πατερ

Then he said, “God do so to me, and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat stays on him today.”

Then he said, H559 (QalImpf) God H430 do H6213 (QalImpf) so and more H3254 (HiphImpf) also to me, if the head H7218 of Elisha H477 the son H1121 of Shaphat H8202 shall stand H5975 (QalImpf) on him this day. H3117

και ειπεν ταδε ποιησαι μοι ο θεος και ταδε προσθειη ει στησεται η κεφαλη ελισαιε επ αυτω σημερον

But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Then the king sent a man from before him; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door shut against him. Isn’t the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”

But Elisha H477 sat H3427 (QalActPtc) in his house, H1004 and the elders H2205 sat H3427 (QalActPtc) with him; and [the king] sent H7971 (QalImpf) a man H376 from before H6440 him: but ere the messenger H4397 came H935 (QalImpf) to him, he said H559 (QalPerf) to the elders, H2205 See H7200 (QalPerf) ye how this son H1121 of a murderer H7523 (PielPtc) hath sent H7971 (QalPerf) to take away H5493 (HiphInf) mine head? H7218 look, H7200 (QalImpv) when the messenger H4397 cometh, H935 (QalInf) shut H5462 (QalImpv) the door, H1817 and hold him fast H3905 (QalPerf) at the door: H1817 [is] not the sound H6963 of his master’s H113 feet H7272 behind H310 him?

και ελισαιε εκαθητο εν τω οικω αυτου και οι πρεσβυτεροι εκαθηντο μετ αυτου και απεστειλεν ανδρα προ προσωπου αυτου πριν ελθειν τον αγγελον προς αυτον και αυτος ειπεν προς τους πρεσβυτερους ει οιδατε οτι απεστειλεν ο υιος του φονευτου ουτος αφελειν την κεφαλην μου ιδετε ως αν ελθη ο αγγελος αποκλεισατε την θυραν και παραθλιψατε αυτον εν τη θυρα ουχι φωνη των ποδων του κυριου αυτου κατοπισθεν αυτου

Elisha said, “Hear Yahweh’s word. Yahweh says, ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah° of fine flour will be sold for a shekel,° and two seahs of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.’ ”

2 Kings 7:1a 1 seah is about 7 liters or 1.9 gallons or 0.8 pecks
2 Kings 7:1b A shekel is about 10 grams or about 0.35 ounces. In this context, it was probably a silver coin weighing that much.

Then Elisha H477 said, H559 (QalImpf) Hear H8085 (QalImpv) ye the word H1697 of the Lord; H3068 Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 To morrow H4279 about this time H6256 [shall] a measure H5429 of fine flour H5560 [be sold] for a shekel, H8255 and two measures H5429 of barley H8184 for a shekel, H8255 in the gate H8179 of Samaria. και ειπεν ελισαιε ακουσον λογον κυριου ταδε λεγει κυριος ως η ωρα αυτη αυριον μετρον σεμιδαλεως σικλου και διμετρον κριθων σικλου εν ταις πυλαις σαμαρειας

Now Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise, and go, you and your household, and stay for a while wherever you can; for Yahweh has called for a famine. It will also come on the land for seven years.”

και ελισαιε ελαλησεν προς την γυναικα ης εζωπυρησεν τον υιον λεγων αναστηθι και δευρο συ και ο οικος σου και παροικει ου εαν παροικησης οτι κεκληκεν κυριος λιμον επι την γην και γε ηλθεν επι την γην επτα ετη

Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”

And the king H4428 talked H1696 (PielPtc) with Gehazi H1522 the servant H5288 of the man H376 of God, H430 saying, H559 (QalInf) Tell H5608 (PielImpv) me, I pray thee, all the great things H1419 that Elisha H477 hath done. H6213 (QalPerf)

και ο βασιλευς ελαλει προς γιεζι το παιδαριον ελισαιε του ανθρωπου του θεου λεγων διηγησαι δη μοι παντα τα μεγαλα α εποιησεν ελισαιε

As he was telling the king how he had restored to life him who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life begged the king for her house and for her land. Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”

And it came to pass, as he was telling H5608 (PielPtc) the king H4428 how he had restored H2421 a dead body H4191 (QalPtc) to life, H2421 (HiphPerf) that, behold, the woman, H802 whose son H1121 he had restored to life, H2421 (HiphPerf) cried H6817 (QalActPtc) to the king H4428 for her house H1004 and for her land. και εγενετο αυτου εξηγουμενου τω βασιλει ως εζωπυρησεν υιον τεθνηκοτα και ιδου η γυνη ης εζωπυρησεν τον υιον αυτης ελισαιε βοωσα προς τον βασιλεα περι του οικου εαυτης και περι των αγρων εαυτης και ειπεν γιεζι κυριε βασιλευ αυτη η γυνη και ουτος ο υιος αυτης ον εζωπυρησεν ελισαιε

Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick. He was told, “The man of God has come here.”

και ηλθεν ελισαιε εις δαμασκον και υιος αδερ βασιλευς συριας ηρρωστει και ανηγγειλαν αυτω λεγοντες ηκει ο ανθρωπος του θεου εως ωδε

Elisha said to him, “Go, tell him, ‘You will surely recover;’ however Yahweh has shown me that he will surely die.”

And Elisha H477 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Go, H3212 (QalImpv) say H559 (QalImpv) unto him, Thou mayest certainly H2421 (QalInf) recover: H2421 (QalImpf) howbeit the Lord H3068 hath shewed H7200 (HiphPerf) me that he shall surely H4191 (QalInf) die. H4191 (QalImpf)

και ειπεν ελισαιε δευρο ειπον αυτω ζωη ζηση και εδειξεν μοι κυριος οτι θανατω αποθανη

Hazael said, “But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he could do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “Yahweh has shown me that you will be king over Syria.”

And Hazael H2371 said, H559 (QalImpf) But what, [is] thy servant H5650 a dog, H3611 that he should do H6213 (QalImpf) this great H1419 thing? H1697 And Elisha H477 answered, H559 (QalImpf) The Lord H3068 hath shewed H7200 (HiphPerf) me that thou [shalt be] king H4428 over Syria. H758

και ειπεν αζαηλ τις εστιν ο δουλος σου ο κυων ο τεθνηκως οτι ποιησει το ρημα τουτο και ειπεν ελισαιε εδειξεν μοι κυριος σε βασιλευοντα επι συριαν

Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” He answered, “He told me that you would surely recover.”

So he departed H3212 (QalImpf) from Elisha, H477 and came H935 (QalImpf) to his master; H113 who said H559 (QalImpf) to him, What said H559 (QalPerf) Elisha H477 to thee? And he answered, H559 (QalImpf) He told H559 (QalPerf) me [that] thou shouldest surely H2421 (QalInf) recover. H2421 (QalImpf)

και απηλθεν απο ελισαιε και εισηλθεν προς τον κυριον αυτου και ειπεν αυτω τι ειπεν σοι ελισαιε και ειπεν ειπεν μοι ζωη ζηση

Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

και ελισαιε ο προφητης εκαλεσεν ενα των υιων των προφητων και ειπεν αυτω ζωσαι την οσφυν σου και λαβε τον φακον του ελαιου τουτου εν τη χειρι σου και δευρο εις ρεμμωθ γαλααδ

Now Elisha became sick with the illness of which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

Now Elisha H477 was fallen sick H2470 (QalPerf) of his sickness H2483 whereof he died. και ελισαιε ηρρωστησεν την αρρωστιαν αυτου δι ην απεθανεν και κατεβη προς αυτον ιωας βασιλευς ισραηλ και εκλαυσεν επι προσωπου αυτου και ειπεν πατερ πατερ αρμα ισραηλ και ιππευς αυτου

Elisha said to him, “Take bow and arrows;” and he took bow and arrows for himself.

και ειπεν αυτω ελισαιε λαβε τοξον και βελη και ελαβεν προς αυτον τοξον και βελη

He said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow;” and he put his hand on it. Elisha laid his hands on the king’s hands.

και ειπεν τω βασιλει επιβιβασον την χειρα σου επι το τοξον και επεβιβασεν ιωας την χειρα αυτου επι το τοξον και επεθηκεν ελισαιε τας χειρας αυτου επι τας χειρας του βασιλεως

He said, “Open the window eastward;” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he shot. He said, “Yahweh’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you will strike the Syrians in Aphek until you have consumed them.”

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) Open H6605 (QalImpv) the window H2474 eastward. H6924 And he opened H6605 (QalImpf) [it]. Then Elisha H477 said, H559 (QalImpf) Shoot. H3384 (QalImpv) And he shot. και ειπεν ανοιξον την θυριδα κατ ανατολας και ηνοιξεν και ειπεν ελισαιε τοξευσον και ετοξευσεν και ειπεν βελος σωτηριας τω κυριω και βελος σωτηριας εν συρια και παταξεις την συριαν εν αφεκ εως συντελειας
