Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother, Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”

While Israel lived in that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.

Reuben heard it, and delivered him out of their hand, and said, “Let’s not take his life.”

Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but lay no hand on him”—that he might deliver him out of their hand, to restore him to his father.

Reuben returned to the pit, and saw that Joseph wasn’t in the pit; and he tore his clothes.

Reuben spoke to his father, saying, “Kill my two sons, if I don’t bring him to you. Entrust him to my care, and I will bring him to you again.”

The children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, “As Yahweh has said to your servants, so will we do.

Moses gave to them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan; the land, according to its cities and borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.

Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

και εδωκεν μωυσης τη φυλη ρουβην κατα δημους αυτων

The border of the children of Reuben was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and its villages.

And the border H1366 of the children H1121 of Reuben H7205 was Jordan, H3383 and the border H1366 thereof. This was the inheritance H5159 of the children H1121 of Reuben H7205 after their families, H4940 the cities H5892 and the villages H2691 thereof.

και διελευσεται επι πηγην βαιθσαμυς και παρελευσεται επι γαλιλωθ η εστιν απεναντι προς αναβασιν αιθαμιν και καταβησεται επι λιθον βαιων υιων ρουβην

Beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.

The children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

και επορευθησαν οι υιοι ρουβην και οι υιοι γαδ και το ημισυ φυλης υιων μανασση απο των υιων ισραηλ εκ σηλω εν γη χανααν απελθειν εις γην γαλααδ εις γην κατασχεσεως αυτων ην εκληρονομησαν αυτην δια προσταγματος κυριου εν χειρι μωυση

και ηλθον εις γαλγαλα του ιορδανου η εστιν εν γη χανααν και ωκοδομησαν οι υιοι γαδ και οι υιοι ρουβην και το ημισυ φυλης μανασση εκει βωμον επι του ιορδανου βωμον μεγαν του ιδειν

The children of Israel heard this, “Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar along the border of the land of Canaan, in the region around the Jordan, on the side that belongs to the children of Israel.”

The children of Israel sent to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest.
