And Uzziah hath a force, making war, going forth to the host, by troops, in the number of their reckoning by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Masseiah the officer, by the hand of Hananiah one of the heads of the king.

Under their hand was an army, three hundred seven thousand five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

and by their hand is the force of the host, three hundred thousand, and seven thousand, and five hundred warriors, with mighty power to give help to the king against the enemy.

Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in Yahweh’s house, beside the altar of incense.

And Uzziah is wroth, and in his hand is a censer to make perfume, and in his being wroth with the priests-the leprosy hath risen in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of Jehovah, from beside the altar of perfume.

Therefore Yahweh his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria. They struck him, and carried away from him a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.

But a prophet of Yahweh was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, “Behold, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.

And there hath been there a prophet of Jehovah (Oded is his name), and he goeth out before the host that hath come in to Samaria, and saith to them, ‘Lo, in the fury of Jehovah God of your fathers against Judah, He hath given them into your hand, and ye slay among them in rage-unto the heavens it hath come;

They brought near the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; and they laid their hands on them.

He set the Levites in Yahweh’s house with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was from Yahweh by his prophets.

Hezekiah commanded them to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, Yahweh’s song also began, along with the trumpets and instruments of David king of Israel.

Then Hezekiah answered, “Now you have consecrated yourselves to Yahweh. Come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into Yahweh’s house.” The assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings, and as many as were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings.

And Hezekiah answereth and saith, ‘Now ye have filled your hand to Jehovah, come nigh, and bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings to the house of Jehovah;’ and the assembly bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings, and every willing-hearted one-burnt-offerings.

So the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, according to the commandment of the king, saying, “You children of Israel, turn again to Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may return to the remnant of you that have escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

Now don’t be stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to Yahweh, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve Yahweh your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

and Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, are inspectors under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah leader of the house of God.

Under him were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, to the great as well as to the small;

And next him [were] Eden, H5731 and Miniamin, H4509 and Jeshua, H3442 and Shemaiah, H8098 Amariah, H568 and Shecaniah, H7935 in the cities H5892 of the priests, H3548 in [their] set office, H530 to give H5414 (QalInf) to their brethren H251 by H3027 courses, H4256 as well to the great H1419 as to the small: H6996

And by his hand are Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shechaniah, in cities of the priests, faithfully to give to their brethren in courses, as the great so the small,

Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?

Know H3045 (QalImpf) ye not what I and my fathers H1 have done H6213 (QalPerf) unto all the people H5971 of [other] lands? H776 were the gods H430 of the nations H1471 of those lands H776 any ways H3201 (QalInf) able H3201 (QalPerf) to deliver H5337 (HiphInf) their lands H776 out of mine hand? H3027

‘Do ye not know what I have done-I and my fathers-to all peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands at all able to deliver their land out of my hand?

Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

Who [was there] among all the gods H430 of those nations H1471 that my fathers H1 utterly destroyed, H2763 (HiphPerf) that could H3201 (QalPerf) deliver H5337 (HiphInf) his people H5971 out of mine hand, H3027 that your God H430 should be able H3201 (QalImpf) to deliver H5337 (HiphInf) you out of mine hand? H3027

Who among all the gods of these nations whom my fathers have devoted to destruction is he who hath been able to deliver his people out of my hand, that your God is able to deliver you out of my hand?

Now therefore don’t let Hezekiah deceive you nor persuade you in this way. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand?”

Now therefore let not H3808 Hezekiah H2396 deceive H5377 (HiphImpf) you, nor persuade H5496 (HiphImpf) you on this manner, neither yet believe H539 (HiphImpf) him: for no god H433 of any nation H1471 or kingdom H4467 was able H3201 (QalImpf) to deliver H5337 (HiphInf) his people H5971 out of mine hand, H3027 and out of the hand H3027 of my fathers: H1 how much less shall your God H430 deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) you out of mine hand? H3027

‘And, now, let not Hezekiah lift you up, nor persuade you thus, nor give credence to him, for no god of any nation and kingdom is able to deliver his people from my hand, and from the hand of my fathers: also, surely your God doth not deliver you from my hand!’

He also wrote letters insulting Yahweh, the God of Israel, and speaking against him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall the God of Hezekiah not deliver his people out of my hand.”

He wrote H3789 (QalPerf) also letters H5612 to rail H2778 (PielInf) on the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel, H3478 and to speak H559 (QalInf) against him, saying, H559 (QalInf) As the gods H430 of the nations H1471 of [other] lands H776 have not delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) their people H5971 out of mine hand, H3027 so shall not the God H430 of Hezekiah H3169 deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) his people H5971 out of mine hand. H3027

and letters he hath written to give reproach to Jehovah, God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, ‘As the gods of the nations of the lands that have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah doth not deliver His people from my hand.’

They spoke of the God of Jerusalem as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.

And they spake H1696 (PielImpf) against H5921 the God H430 of Jerusalem, H3389 as against the gods H430 of the people H5971 of the earth, H776 [which were] the work H4639 of the hands H3027 of man. H120

and they speak against the God of Jerusalem as against the gods of the peoples of the land-work of the hands of man.

Thus Yahweh saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.

Thus the Lord H3068 saved H3467 (HiphImpf) Hezekiah H3169 and the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Jerusalem H3389 from the hand H3027 of Sennacherib H5576 the king H4428 of Assyria, H804 and from the hand H3027 of all [other], and guided H5095 (PielImpf) them on every side. H5439

And Jehovah saveth Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Asshur, and from the hand of all, and He leadeth them round about;

I will not any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law, the statutes, and the ordinances given by Moses.”

Neither will I any more H3254 (HiphImpf) remove H5493 (HiphInf) the foot H7272 of Israel H3478 from out H5921 of the land H127 which I have appointed H5975 (HiphPerf) for your fathers; H1 so that H518 they will take heed H8104 (QalImpf) to do H6213 (QalInf) all that I have commanded H6680 (PielPerf) them, according to the whole law H8451 and the statutes H2706 and the ordinances H4941 by the hand H3027 of Moses. H4872

and I add not to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them-to all the law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.’

They came to Hilkiah the high priest and delivered the money that was brought into God’s house, which the Levites, the keepers of the threshold, had gathered from the hands of Manasseh, Ephraim, of all the remnant of Israel, of all Judah and Benjamin, and of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And when they came H935 (QalImpf) to Hilkiah H2518 the high H1419 priest, H3548 they delivered H5414 (QalImpf) the money H3701 that was brought H935 (HophPtc) into the house H1004 of God, H430 which the Levites H3881 that kept H8104 (QalActPtc) the doors H5592 had gathered H622 (QalPerf) of the hand H3027 of Manasseh H4519 and Ephraim, H669 and of all the remnant H7611 of Israel, H3478 and of all Judah H3063 and Benjamin; H1144 and they returned H7725 (QalImpf) (Qere) H3427 (QalActPtc) to Jerusalem. And they come in unto Hilkiah the high priest, and they give the money that is brought in to the house of God, that the Levites, keeping the threshold, have gathered from the hand of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and from all the remnant of Israel, and from all Judah, and Benjamin, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,

They delivered it into the hands of the workmen who had the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and the workmen who labored in Yahweh’s house gave it to mend and repair the house.

and they give it into the hand of the workmen, those appointed over the house of Jehovah, and they give it to the workmen who are working in the house of Jehovah, to repair and to strengthen the house;

When they brought out the money that was brought into Yahweh’s house, Hilkiah the priest found the book of Yahweh’s law given by Moses.

And when they brought out H3318 (HiphInf) the money H3701 that was brought into H935 (HophPtc) the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 Hilkiah H2518 the priest H3548 found H4672 (QalPerf) a book H5612 of the law H8451 of the Lord H3068 [given] by H3027 Moses. H4872

And in their bringing out the money that is brought in to the house of Jehovah, hath Hilkiah the priest found the book of the law of Jehovah by the hand of Moses,

Shaphan carried the book to the king, and moreover brought back word to the king, saying, “All that was committed to your servants, they are doing.

and Shaphan bringeth in the book unto the king, and bringeth the king back word again, saying, ‘All that hath been given into the hand of thy servants they are doing,

They have emptied out the money that was found in Yahweh’s house, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers and into the hand of the workmen.”

and they pour out the money that is found in the house of Jehovah, and give it into the hand of those appointed, and into the hands of those doing the work.’

Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath is poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.’ ” ’

Because they have forsaken H5800 (QalPerf) me, and have burned incense H6999 (PielImpf) (Qere) H6999 (HiphImpf) unto other H312 gods, H430 that they might provoke me to anger H3707 (HiphInf) with all the works H4639 of their hands; H3027 therefore my wrath H2534 shall be poured out H5413 (QalImpf) upon this place, H4725 and shall not be quenched. because that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other gods, so as to provoke Me with all the works of their hands, and poured out is My fury upon this place, and it is not quenched.

Kill the Passover lamb, sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to Yahweh’s word by Moses.”

So kill H7819 (QalImpv) the passover, H6453 and sanctify H6942 (HithImpv) yourselves, and prepare H3559 (HiphImpv) your brethren, H251 that [they] may do H6213 (QalInf) according to the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 by the hand H3027 of Moses. H4872

and slaughter the passover-offering and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, to do according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Moses.’

They killed the Passover lambs, and the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from their hands, and the Levites skinned them.

and they slaughter the passover-offering, and the priests sprinkle out of their hand, and the Levites are striping;

Yahweh, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place;

And He causeth to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slayeth their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and hath had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged-the whole He hath given into his hand.

All those who were around them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with animals, and with precious things, in addition to all that was willingly offered.

When the builders laid the foundation of Yahweh’s temple, they set the priests in their vestments with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Yahweh, according to the directions of David king of Israel.

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy offspring have mixed themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the princes and rulers has been chief in this trespass.”
