Solomon loved Yahweh, walking in the statutes of David his father, except that he sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.

He cried against the altar by Yahweh’s word, and said, “Altar! Altar! Yahweh says: ‘Behold, a son will be born to David’s house, Josiah by name. On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn men’s bones on you.’ ”

He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

οτι αλλ η τω κυριω ος ανηγαγεν υμας εκ γης αιγυπτου εν ισχυι μεγαλη και εν βραχιονι υψηλω αυτον φοβηθησεσθε και αυτω προσκυνησετε και αυτω θυσετε

He killed all the priests of the high places that were there, on the altars, and burned men’s bones on them; and he returned to Jerusalem.

King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled to him were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Yahweh.

King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God’s house.

After some years, he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.

και κατεβη δια τελους ετων προς αχααβ εις σαμαρειαν και εθυσεν αυτω αχααβ προβατα και μοσχους πολλους και τω λαω τω μετ αυτου και ηπατα αυτον του συναναβηναι μετ αυτου εις ραμωθ της γαλααδιτιδος

He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

και εθυμια επι των υψηλων και επι των δωματων και υποκατω παντος ξυλου αλσωδους

For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him. He said, “Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.

εκζητησω τους θεους δαμασκου τους τυπτοντας με και ειπεν οτι θεοι βασιλεως συριας αυτοι κατισχυσουσιν αυτους αυτοις τοινυν θυσω και αντιλημψονται μου και αυτοι εγενοντο αυτω εις σκωλον και παντι ισραηλ

Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who had good understanding in the service of Yahweh. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings and making confession to Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

και ελαλησεν εζεκιας επι πασαν καρδιαν των λευιτων και των συνιοντων συνεσιν αγαθην τω κυριω και συνετελεσαν την εορτην των αζυμων επτα ημερας θυοντες θυσιας σωτηριου και εξομολογουμενοι τω κυριω θεω των πατερων αυτων

He built up Yahweh’s altar, and offered sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving on it, and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.

και κατωρθωσεν το θυσιαστηριον κυριου και εθυσιασεν επ αυτο θυσιαν σωτηριου και αινεσεως και ειπεν τω ιουδα του δουλευειν κυριω θεω ισραηλ

Nevertheless the people still sacrificed in the high places, but only to Yahweh their God.

Nevertheless H61 the people H5971 did sacrifice H2076 (QalActPtc) still in the high places, H1116 [yet] unto the Lord H3068 their God H430 only.

πλην ο λαος ετι επι των υψηλων πλην κυριος ο θεος αυτων

He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

και εποιησεν το πονηρον ενωπιον κυριου ως εποιησεν μανασσης ο πατηρ αυτου και πασιν τοις ειδωλοις οις εποιησεν μανασσης ο πατηρ αυτου εθυεν αμων και εδουλευσεν αυτοις

They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence; and he cut down the incense altars that were on high above them. He broke the Asherah poles, the engraved images, and the molten images in pieces, made dust of them, and scattered it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.

και κατεσπασεν κατα προσωπον αυτου τα θυσιαστηρια των βααλιμ και τα υψηλα τα επ αυτων και εκοψεν τα αλση και τα γλυπτα και τα χωνευτα συνετριψεν και ελεπτυνεν και ερριψεν επι προσωπον των μνηματων των θυσιαζοντων αυτοις

they came near to Zerubbabel, and to the heads of fathers’ households, and said to them, “Let us build with you, for we seek your God as you do; and we have been sacrificing to him since the days of Esar Haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.”

και ηγγισαν προς ζοροβαβελ και προς τους αρχοντας των πατριων και ειπαν αυτοις οικοδομησομεν μεθ υμων οτι ως υμεις εκζητουμεν τω θεω υμων και αυτω ημεις θυσιαζομεν απο ημερων ασαραδδων βασιλεως ασσουρ του ενεγκαντος ημας ωδε

He spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they finish in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, since they are burned?”

^[3:34] και ειπεν ενωπιον των αδελφων αυτου αυτη η δυναμις σομορων οτι οι ιουδαιοι ουτοι οικοδομουσιν την εαυτων πολιν

They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even far away.

και εθυσαν εν τη ημερα εκεινη θυσιασματα μεγαλα και ηυφρανθησαν οτι ο θεος ηυφρανεν αυτους μεγαλως και αι γυναικες αυτων και τα τεκνα αυτων ηυφρανθησαν και ηκουσθη η ευφροσυνη εν ιερουσαλημ απο μακροθεν

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness. Put your trust in Yahweh.

Offer H2076 (QalImpv) the sacrifices H2077 of righteousness, H6664 and put your trust H982 (QalImpv) in the Lord. H3068

^[4:6] θυσατε θυσιαν δικαιοσυνης και ελπισατε επι κυριον

Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.

^[26:6] και νυν ιδου υψωσεν την κεφαλην μου επ εχθρους μου εκυκλωσα και εθυσα εν τη σκηνη αυτου θυσιαν αλαλαγμου ασομαι και ψαλω τω κυριω

Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.
