και εμπρησουσιν τους οικους σου πυρι και ποιησουσιν εν σοι εκδικησεις ενωπιον γυναικων πολλων και αποστρεψω σε εκ της πορνειας σου και μισθωματα ου μη δως ουκετι

“Son of man, tell a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;

“Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways,” says the Lord Yahweh. “Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not be your ruin.

When you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? Should I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you!

και εν ταις απαρχαις των δοματων υμων εν τοις αφορισμοις υμεις μιαινεσθε εν πασιν τοις ενθυμημασιν υμων εως της σημερον ημερας και εγω αποκριθω υμιν οικος του ισραηλ ζω εγω λεγει κυριος ει αποκριθησομαι υμιν και ει αναβησεται επι το πνευμα υμων τουτο

“ ‘As for you, house of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says: “Go, everyone serve his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but you shall no more profane my holy name with your gifts and with your idols.

As for you, O house H1004 of Israel, H3478 thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Go H3212 (QalImpv) ye, serve H5647 (QalImpv) ye every one H376 his idols, H1544 and hereafter H310 [also], if ye will not hearken H8085 (QalActPtc) unto me: but pollute H2490 (PielImpf) ye my holy H6944 name H8034 no more with your gifts, H4979 and with your idols. και υμεις οικος ισραηλ ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος εκαστος τα επιτηδευματα αυτου εξαρατε και μετα ταυτα ει μη υμεις εισακουετε μου και το ονομα μου το αγιον ου βεβηλωσετε ουκετι εν τοις δωροις υμων και εν τοις επιτηδευμασιν υμων

For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel,” says the Lord Yahweh, “there all the house of Israel, all of them, shall serve me in the land. There I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

και επιγνωσεσθε διοτι εγω κυριος εν τω ποιησαι με ουτως υμιν οπως το ονομα μου μη βεβηλωθη κατα τας οδους υμων τας κακας και κατα τα επιτηδευματα υμων τα διεφθαρμενα λεγει κυριος

“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.

For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and behold, they have done this in the middle of my house.

The company will stone them with stones and dispatch them with their swords. They will kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says, “Put the cauldron on the fire. Put it on, and also pour water into it.

‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.

και ερεις τοις υιοις αμμων ακουσατε λογον κυριου ταδε λεγει κυριος ανθ ων επεχαρητε επι τα αγια μου οτι εβεβηλωθη και επι την γην του ισραηλ οτι ηφανισθη και επι τον οικον του ιουδα οτι επορευθησαν εν αιχμαλωσια

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’

ταδε λεγει κυριος ανθ ων εποιησεν η ιδουμαια εν τω εκδικησαι αυτους εκδικησιν εις τον οικον ιουδα και εμνησικακησαν και εξεδικησαν δικην

They will make a plunder of your riches and make a prey of your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. They will lay your stones, your timber, and your dust in the middle of the waters.

και προνομευσει την δυναμιν σου και σκυλευσει τα υπαρχοντα σου και καταβαλει σου τα τειχη και τους οικους σου τους επιθυμητους καθελει και τους λιθους σου και τα ξυλα σου και τον χουν σου εις μεσον της θαλασσης εμβαλει

“ ‘ “They of the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, war horses, and mules.

εξ οικου θεργαμα ιππους και ιππεις εδωκαν αγοραν σου

και ουκ εσονται ουκετι τω οικω του ισραηλ σκολοψ πικριας και ακανθα οδυνης απο παντων των περικυκλω αυτων των ατιμασαντων αυτους και γνωσονται οτι εγω ειμι κυριος

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am shown as holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.

και κατοικησουσιν επ αυτης εν ελπιδι και οικοδομησουσιν οικιας και φυτευσουσιν αμπελωνας και κατοικησουσιν εν ελπιδι οταν ποιησω κριμα εν πασιν τοις ατιμασασιν αυτους εν τοις κυκλω αυτων και γνωσονται οτι εγω ειμι κυριος ο θεος αυτων και ο θεος των πατερων αυτων

“ ‘ “All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

και γνωσονται παντες οι κατοικουντες αιγυπτον οτι εγω ειμι κυριος ανθ ων εγενηθης ραβδος καλαμινη τω οικω ισραηλ

It will no longer be the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to memory, when they turn to look after them. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.” ’ ”

“In that day I will cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

“You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: ‘You say this, “Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them. How then can we live?” ’

Tell them, ‘ “As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?” ’

ειπον αυτοις ζω εγω ταδε λεγει κυριος ου βουλομαι τον θανατον του ασεβους ως το αποστρεψαι τον ασεβη απο της οδου αυτου και ζην αυτον αποστροφη αποστρεψατε απο της οδου υμων και ινα τι αποθνησκετε οικος ισραηλ

Yet you say, “The way of the Lord is not fair.” House of Israel, I will judge every one of you after his ways.’ ”

“As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak to one another, everyone to his brother, saying, ‘Please come and hear what the word is that comes out from Yahweh.’

και συ υιε ανθρωπου οι υιοι του λαου σου οι λαλουντες περι σου παρα τα τειχη και εν τοις πυλωσι των οικιων και λαλουσιν ανθρωπος τω αδελφω αυτου λεγοντες συνελθωμεν και ακουσωμεν τα εκπορευομενα παρα κυριου

They will know that I, Yahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord Yahweh.

As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’ ”
