Ezekiel 29 (WEBP)
[1] In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
[2] “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
[3] Speak and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the middle of his rivers, that has said, ‘My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’
[4] I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your scales. I will bring you up out of the middle of your rivers, with all the fish of your rivers which stick to your scales.
[5] I’ll cast you out into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers. You’ll fall on the open field. You won’t be brought together or gathered. I have given you for food to the animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky.
[6] “ ‘ “All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
[7] When they took hold of you by your hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders. When they leaned on you, you broke and paralyzed all of their thighs.”
[8] “ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I will bring a sword on you, and will cut off man and animal from you.
[9] The land of Egypt will be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am Yahweh. “ ‘ “Because he has said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it,’
[10] therefore, behold, I am against you and against your rivers. I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even to the border of Ethiopia.
[11] No foot of man will pass through it, nor will any animal foot pass through it. It won’t be inhabited for forty years.
[12] I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the middle of the countries that are desolate. Her cities among the cities that are laid waste will be a desolation forty years. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.”
[13] “ ‘For the Lord Yahweh says: “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples where they were scattered.
[14] I will reverse the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth. There they will be a lowly kingdom.
[15] It will be the lowest of the kingdoms. It won’t lift itself up above the nations any more. I will diminish them so that they will no longer rule over the nations.
[16] It will no longer be the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to memory, when they turn to look after them. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.” ’ ”
[17] It came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
[18] “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet he had no wages, nor did his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.
[19] Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He will carry off her multitude, take her plunder, and take her prey. That will be the wages for his army.
[20] I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he served, because they worked for me,’ says the Lord Yahweh.
[21] “In that day I will cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

[1] In the tenth H6224 year H8141, in the tenth H6224 [month], in the twelfth H8147 H6240 [day] of the month H2320, the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 came unto me, saying H559 (8800),
[2] Son H1121 of man H120, set H7760 (8798) thy face H6440 against Pharaoh H6547 king H4428 of Egypt H4714, and prophesy H5012 (8734) against him, and against all Egypt H4714:
[3] Speak H1696 (8761), and say H559 (8804), Thus saith H559 (8804) the Lord H136 GOD H3069; Behold, I [am] against thee, Pharaoh H6547 king H4428 of Egypt H4714, the great H1419 dragon H8577 that lieth H7257 (8802) in the midst H8432 of his rivers H2975, which hath said H559 (8804), My river H2975 [is] mine own, and I have made H6213 (8804) [it] for myself.
[4] But I will put H5414 (8804) hooks H2397 (8676) H2397 in thy jaws H3895, and I will cause the fish H1710 of thy rivers H2975 to stick H1692 (8689) unto thy scales H7193, and I will bring thee up H5927 (8689) out of the midst H8432 of thy rivers H2975, and all the fish H1710 of thy rivers H2975 shall stick H1692 (8799) unto thy scales H7193.
[5] And I will leave H5203 (8804) thee [thrown] into the wilderness H4057, thee and all the fish H1710 of thy rivers H2975: thou shalt fall H5307 (8799) upon the open H6440 fields H7704; thou shalt not be brought together H622 (8735), nor gathered H6908 (8735): I have given H5414 (8804) thee for meat H402 to the beasts H2416 of the field H776 and to the fowls H5775 of the heaven H8064.
[6] And all the inhabitants H3427 (8802) of Egypt H4714 shall know H3045 (8804) that I [am] the LORD H3068, because they have been a staff H4938 of reed H7070 to the house H1004 of Israel H3478.
[7] When they took hold H8610 (8800) of thee by thy hand H3709, thou didst break H7533 (8735), and rend H1234 (8804) all their shoulder H3802: and when they leaned H8172 (8736) upon thee, thou brakest H7665 (8735), and madest all their loins H4975 to be at a stand H5976 (8689).
[8] Therefore thus saith H559 (8804) the Lord H136 GOD H3069; Behold, I will bring H935 (8688) a sword H2719 upon thee, and cut off H3772 (8689) man H120 and beast H929 out of thee.
[9] And the land H776 of Egypt H4714 shall be desolate H8077 and waste H2723; and they shall know H3045 (8804) that I [am] the LORD H3068: because he hath said H559 (8804), The river H2975 [is] mine, and I have made H6213 (8804) [it].
[10] Behold, therefore I [am] against thee, and against thy rivers H2975, and I will make H5414 (8804) the land H776 of Egypt H4714 utterly H2721 waste H2723 [and] desolate H8077, from the tower H4024 of Syene H5482 even unto the border H1366 of Ethiopia H3568.
[11] No foot H7272 of man H120 shall pass through H5674 (8799) it, nor foot H7272 of beast H929 shall pass through H5674 (8799) it, neither shall it be inhabited H3427 (8799) forty H705 years H8141.
[12] And I will make H5414 (8804) the land H776 of Egypt H4714 desolate H8077 in the midst H8432 of the countries H776 [that are] desolate H8074 (8737), and her cities H5892 among H8432 the cities H5892 [that are] laid waste H2717 (8716) shall be desolate H8077 forty H705 years H8141: and I will scatter H6327 (8689) the Egyptians H4714 among the nations H1471, and will disperse H2219 (8765) them through the countries H776.
[13] Yet thus saith H559 (8804) the Lord H136 GOD H3069; At the end H7093 of forty H705 years H8141 will I gather H6908 (8762) the Egyptians H4714 from the people H5971 whither they were scattered H6327 (8738):
[14] And I will bring again H7725 (8804) the captivity H7622 of Egypt H4714, and will cause them to return H7725 (8689) [into] the land H776 of Pathros H6624, into the land H776 of their habitation H4351; and they shall be there a base H8217 kingdom H4467.
[15] It shall be the basest H8217 of the kingdoms H4467; neither shall it exalt H5375 (8691) itself any more above the nations H1471: for I will diminish H4591 (8689) them, that they shall no more rule H7287 (8800) over the nations H1471.
[16] And it shall be no more the confidence H4009 of the house H1004 of Israel H3478, which bringeth H2142 [their] iniquity H5771 to remembrance H2142 (8688), when they shall look H6437 (8800) after H310 them: but they shall know H3045 (8804) that I [am] the Lord H136 GOD H3069.
[17] And it came to pass in the seven H7651 and twentieth H6242 year H8141, in the first H7223 [month], in the first H259 [day] of the month H2320, the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 came unto me, saying H559 (8800),
[18] Son H1121 of man H120, Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon H894 caused H5647 his army H2428 to serve H5647 (8689) a great H1419 service H5656 against Tyrus H6865: every head H7218 [was] made bald H7139 (8716), and every shoulder H3802 [was] peeled H4803 (8803): yet had he no wages H7939, nor his army H2428, for Tyrus H6865, for the service H5656 that he had served H5647 (8804) against it:
[19] Therefore thus saith H559 (8804) the Lord H136 GOD H3069; Behold, I will give H5414 (8802) the land H776 of Egypt H4714 unto Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon H894; and he shall take H5375 (8804) her multitude H1995, and take H7997 (8804) her spoil H7998, and take H962 (8804) her prey H957; and it shall be the wages H7939 for his army H2428.
[20] I have given H5414 (8804) him the land H776 of Egypt H4714 [for] his labour H6468 wherewith he served H5647 (8804) against it, because they wrought H6213 (8804) for me, saith H5002 (8803) the Lord H136 GOD H3069.
[21] In that day H3117 will I cause H6779 the horn H7161 of the house H1004 of Israel H3478 to bud forth H6779 (8686), and I will give H5414 (8799) thee the opening H6610 of the mouth H6310 in the midst H8432 of them; and they shall know H3045 (8804) that I [am] the LORD H3068.
Young’s Literal Translation
Ezekiel 29 (YLT)
[1] In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying,
[2] ‘Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy concerning him, and concerning Egypt-all of it.
[3] Speak, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt! The great dragon that is crouching in the midst of his floods, Who hath said, My flood is my own, And I-I have made it for myself.
[4] And I have put hooks in thy jaws, And I have caused the fish of thy floods to cleave to thy scales, And I have caused thee to come up from the midst of thy floods, And every fish of thy floods to thy scales doth cleave.
[5] And I have left thee in the wilderness, Thou and every fish of thy floods, On the face of the field thou dost fall, Thou art not gathered nor assembled, To the beast of the earth and to the fowl of the heavens I have given thee for food.
[6] And known have all inhabitants of Egypt That I am Jehovah, Because of their being a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
[7] In their taking hold of thee by thy hand,-thou art crushed, And hast rent to them all the shoulder, And in their leaning on thee thou art broken, And hast caused all their thighs to stand.
[8] Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am bringing in against thee a sword, And have cut off from thee man and beast.
[9] And the land of Egypt hath been for a desolation and a waste, And they have known that I am Jehovah. Because he said: The flood is mine, and I made it.
[10] Therefore, lo, I am against thee, and against thy floods, And have given the land of Egypt for wastes, A waste, a desolation, from Migdol to Syene, And unto the border of Cush.
[11] Not pass over into it doth a foot of man, Yea, the foot of beast doth not pass into it, Nor is it inhabited forty years.
[12] And I have made the land of Egypt a desolation, In the midst of desolate lands, And its cities, in the midst of waste cities, Are a desolation forty years, And I have scattered the Egyptians among nations, And I have dispersed them through lands.
[13] But thus said the Lord Jehovah: At the end of forty years I gather the Egyptians Out of the peoples whither they have been scattered,
[14] And I have turned back to the captivity of Egypt, And I have brought them back To the land of Pathros, to the land of their birth, And they have been there a low kingdom.
[15] Of the kingdoms it is lowest, And it lifteth not up itself any more above the nations, And I have made them few, So as not to rule among nations.
[16] And it is no more to the house of Israel for a confidence, Bringing iniquity to remembrance, By their turning after them, And they have known that I am the Lord Jehovah.’
[17] And it cometh to pass, in the twenty and seventh year, in the first month, in the first of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying:
[18] ‘Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Hath caused his force to serve a great service against Tyre, Every head is bald-every shoulder peeled, And reward he had none, nor his force, out of Tyre, For the service that he served against it.
[19] Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah, Lo, I am giving to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon the land of Egypt, And he hath taken away its store, And hath taken its spoil, and taken its prey, And it hath been a reward to his force.
[20] His wage for which he laboured I have given to him, The land of Egypt-in that they wrought for Me, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.
[21] In that day I cause to shoot up a horn to the house of Israel, And to thee I give an opening of the mouth in their midst, And they have known that I am Jehovah!’
