[1] Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, [2] “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘If anyone sins unintentionally, in any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and does any one of them, [3] if the anointed priest sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin which he has sinned a young bull without defect to Yahweh for a sin offering. [4] He shall bring the bull to the door of the Tent of Meeting before Yahweh; and he shall lay his hand on the head of the bull, and kill the bull before Yahweh. [5] The anointed priest shall take some of the blood of the bull, and bring it to the Tent of Meeting. [6] The priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before Yahweh, before the veil of the sanctuary. [7] The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Yahweh, which is in the Tent of Meeting; and he shall pour out the rest of the blood of the bull at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. [8] He shall take all the fat of the bull of the sin offering from it: the fat that covers the innards, and all the fat that is on the innards, [9] and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall remove, [10] as it is removed from the bull of the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. [11] He shall carry the bull’s skin, all its meat, with its head, and with its legs, its innards, and its dung [12] —all the rest of the bull—outside of the camp to a clean place where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. It shall be burned where the ashes are poured out. [13] “ ‘If the whole congregation of Israel sins, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and are guilty; [14] when the sin in which they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for a sin offering, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting. [15] The elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before Yahweh; and the bull shall be killed before Yahweh. [16] The anointed priest shall bring some of the blood of the bull to the Tent of Meeting. [17] The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before Yahweh, before the veil. [18] He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before Yahweh, that is in the Tent of Meeting; and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. [19] All its fat he shall take from it, and burn it on the altar. [20] He shall do this with the bull; as he did with the bull of the sin offering, so he shall do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven. [21] He shall carry the bull outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly. [22] “ ‘When a ruler sins, and unwittingly does any one of all the things which Yahweh his God has commanded not to be done, and is guilty, [23] if his sin in which he has sinned is made known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without defect. [24] He shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before Yahweh. It is a sin offering. [25] The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. [26] All its fat he shall burn on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and he will be forgiven. [27] “ ‘If anyone of the common people sins unwittingly, in doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and is guilty, [28] if his sin which he has sinned is made known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without defect, for his sin which he has sinned. [29] He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering. [30] The priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. [31] All its fat he shall take away, like the fat is taken away from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven. [32] “ ‘If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without defect. [33] He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering. [34] The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. [35] He shall remove all its fat, like the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire. The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

[1] And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielImpf) unto Moses, H4872 saying, H559 (QalInf) [2] Speak H1696 (PielImpv) unto the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 saying, H559 (QalInf) If a soul H5315 shall sin H2398 (QalImpf) through ignorance H7684 against any of the commandments H4687 of the Lord H3068 concerning things which ought not to be done, H6213 (NiphImpf) and shall do H6213 (QalPerf) against any H259 of them: H2007 [3] If the priest H3548 that is anointed H4899 do sin H2398 (QalImpf) according to the sin H819 of the people; H5971 then let him bring H7126 (HiphPerf) for his sin, H2403 which he hath sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) a young H1241 bullock H6499 without blemish H8549 unto the Lord H3068 for a sin offering. H2403 [4] And he shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) the bullock H6499 unto the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 before H6440 the Lord; H3068 and shall lay H5564 (QalPerf) his hand H3027 upon the bullock’s H6499 head, H7218 and kill H7819 (QalPerf) the bullock H6499 before H6440 the Lord. H4150 [8] And he shall take off H7311 (HiphImpf) from it all the fat H2459 of the bullock H6499 for the sin offering; H2403 the fat H2459 that covereth H3680 (PielPtc) the inwards, H7130 and all the fat H2459 that is upon the inwards, H7130 [9] and the two H8147 kidneys, H3629 and the fat H2459 that is upon them, which is by the flanks, H3689 and the caul H3508 above the liver, H3516 with the kidneys, H3629 it shall he take away, H5493 (HiphImpf) [10] as it was taken off H7311 (HophImpf) from the bullock H7794 of the sacrifice H2077 of peace offerings: H8002 and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 (HiphPerf) them upon the altar H4196 of the burnt offering. H5930 [11] And the skin H5785 of the bullock, H6499 and all his flesh, H1320 with his head, H7218 and with his legs, H3767 and his inwards, H7130 and his dung, H6569 [12] even the whole bullock H6499 shall he carry forth H3318 (HiphPerf) without H2351 the camp H4264§ unto a clean H2889 place, H4725 where the ashes H1880 are poured§ out, H8211 and burn H8313 (QalPerf) him on the wood H6086 with fire: H784 where H413 the ashes H1880 are poured out H8211 shall he be burnt. H8313 (NiphImpf) [13] And if the whole congregation H5712 of Israel H3478 sin through ignorance, H7686 (QalImpf) and the thing H1697 be hid H5956 (NiphPerf) from the eyes H5869 of the assembly, H6951 and they have done H6213 (QalPerf) somewhat against any H259 of the commandments H4687 of the Lord H3068 concerning things which should not be done, H6213 (NiphImpf) and are guilty; H816 (QalPerf) [14] when the sin, H2403 which they have sinned H2398 (QalPerf) against it, is known, H3045 (NiphPerf) then the congregation H6951 shall offer H7126 (HiphPerf) a young H1241 bullock H6499 for the sin, H2403 and bring H935 (HiphPerf) him before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation. H4150 [15] And the elders H2205 of the congregation H5712 shall lay H5564 (QalPerf) their hands H3027 upon the head H7218 of the bullock H6499 before H6440 the Lord: H3068 and the bullock H6499 shall be killed H7819 (QalPerf) before H6440 the Lord. H4196 [20] And he shall do H6213 (QalPerf) with the bullock H6499 as he did H6213 (QalPerf) with the bullock H6499 for a sin offering, H2403 so shall he do H6213 (QalImpf) with this: and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for them, and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) them. [21] And he shall carry forth H3318 (HiphPerf) the bullock H6499 without H2351 the camp, H4264 and burn H8313 (QalPerf) him as he burned H8313 (QalPerf) the first H7223 bullock: H6499 it is a sin offering H2403 for the congregation. H6951 [22] When a ruler H5387 hath sinned, H2398 (QalImpf) and done H6213 (QalPerf) somewhat through ignorance H7684 against any H259 of the commandments H4687 of the Lord H3068 his God H430 concerning things which should not be done, H6213 (NiphImpf) and is guilty; H816 (QalPerf) [23] or if his sin, H2403 wherein he hath sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) come to his knowledge; H3045 (HophPerf) he shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) his offering, H7133 a kid H8163 of the goats, H5795 a male H2145 without blemish: H8549 [24] and he shall lay H5564 (QalPerf) his hand H3027 upon the head H7218 of the goat, H8163 and kill H7819 (QalPerf) it in the place H4725 where they kill H7819 (QalImpf) the burnt offering H5930 before H6440 the Lord: H3068 it is a sin offering. H5930 [26] And he shall burn H6999 (HiphImpf) all his fat H2459 upon the altar, H4196 as the fat H2459 of the sacrifice H2077 of peace offerings: H8002 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for him as concerning his sin, H2403 and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him. [27] And if any H259 one H5315§ of the common H776 people H5971§ sin H2398 (QalImpf) through ignorance, H7684 while he doeth H6213 (QalInf) somewhat against any H259 of the commandments H4687 of the Lord H3068 concerning things which ought not to be done, H6213 (NiphImpf) and be guilty; H816 (QalPerf) [28] or if his sin, H2403 which he hath sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) come to his knowledge: H3045 (HophPerf) then he shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) his offering, H7133 a kid H8166 of the goats, H5795 a female H5347 without blemish, H8549 for his sin H2403 which he hath sinned. H4196 [31] And he shall take away H5493 (HiphImpf) all the fat H2459 thereof, as the fat H2459 is taken away H5493 (HophPerf) from off the sacrifice H2077 of peace offerings; H8002 and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 (HiphPerf) it upon the altar H4196 for a sweet H5207 savour H7381 unto the Lord; H3068 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for him, and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him. [32] And if he bring H935 (HiphImpf) a lamb H3532 for a sin H2403 offering, H7133 he shall bring H935 (HiphImpf) it a female H5347 without blemish.
