1 Samuel 3 (WEBP)
[1] The child Samuel ministered to Yahweh before Eli. Yahweh’s word was rare in those days. There were not many visions, then.
[2] At that time, when Eli was laid down in his place (now his eyes had begun to grow dim, so that he could not see),
[3] and God’s lamp hadn’t yet gone out, and Samuel had laid down in Yahweh’s temple where God’s ark was,
[4] Yahweh called Samuel. He said, “Here I am.”
[5] He ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; for you called me.” He said, “I didn’t call. Lie down again.” He went and lay down.
[6] Yahweh called yet again, “Samuel!” Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; for you called me.” He answered, “I didn’t call, my son. Lie down again.”
[7] Now Samuel didn’t yet know Yahweh, neither was Yahweh’s word yet revealed to him.
[8] Yahweh called Samuel again the third time. He arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; for you called me.” Eli perceived that Yahweh had called the child.
[9] Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down. It shall be, if he calls you, that you shall say, ‘Speak, Yahweh; for your servant hears.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
[10] Yahweh came, and stood, and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak; for your servant hears.”
[11] Yahweh said to Samuel, “Behold, I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.
[12] In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.
[13] For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons brought a curse on themselves, and he didn’t restrain them.
[14] Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be removed with sacrifice or offering forever.”
[15] Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of Yahweh’s house. Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision.
[16] Then Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son!” He said, “Here I am.”
[17] He said, “What is the thing that he has spoken to you? Please don’t hide it from me. God do so to you, and more also, if you hide anything from me of all the things that he spoke to you.”
[18] Samuel told him every bit, and hid nothing from him. He said, “It is Yahweh. Let him do what seems good to him.”
[19] Samuel grew, and Yahweh was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.
[20] All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.
[21] Yahweh appeared again in Shiloh; for Yahweh revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by Yahweh’s word.

1 Samuel 3 (KJVS)
[1] And the child H5288 Samuel H8050 ministered H8334 (8764) unto the LORD H3068 before H6440 Eli H5941. And the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 was precious H3368 in those days H3117; [there was] no open H6555 (8737) vision H2377.
[2] And it came to pass at that time H3117, when Eli H5941 [was] laid down H7901 (8802) in his place H4725, and his eyes H5869 began H2490 (8689) to wax dim H3544, [that] he could H3201 (8799) not see H7200 (8800);
[3] And ere the lamp H5216 of God H430 went out H3518 (8799) in the temple H1964 of the LORD H3068, where the ark H727 of God H430 [was], and Samuel H8050 was laid down H7901 (8802) [to sleep];
[4] That the LORD H3068 called H7121 (8799) Samuel H8050: and he answered H559 (8799), Here [am] I.
[5] And he ran H7323 (8799) unto Eli H5941, and said H559 (8799), Here [am] I H2009; for thou calledst H7121 (8804) me. And he said H559 (8799), I called H7121 (8804) not; lie down H7901 (8798) again H7725 (8798). And he went H3212 (8799) and lay down H7901 (8799).
[6] And the LORD H3068 called H7121 (8800) yet again H3254 (8686), Samuel H8050. And Samuel H8050 arose H6965 (8799) and went H3212 (8799) to Eli H5941, and said H559 (8799), Here [am] I; for thou didst call H7121 (8804) me. And he answered H559 (8799), I called H7121 (8804) not, my son H1121; lie down H7901 (8798) again H7725 (8798).
[7] Now Samuel H8050 did not yet H2962 know H3045 (8804) the LORD H3068, neither was the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 yet revealed H1540 (8735) unto him.
[8] And the LORD H3068 called H7121 (8800) Samuel H8050 again H3254 (8686) the third time H7992. And he arose H6965 (8799) and went H3212 (8799) to Eli H5941, and said H559 (8799), Here [am] I; for thou didst call H7121 (8804) me. And Eli H5941 perceived H995 (8799) that the LORD H3068 had called H7121 (8802) the child H5288.
[9] Therefore Eli H5941 said H559 (8799) unto Samuel H8050, Go H3212 (8798), lie down H7901 (8798): and it shall be, if he call H7121 (8799) thee, that thou shalt say H559 (8804), Speak H1696 (8761), LORD H3068; for thy servant H5650 heareth H8085 (8802). So Samuel H8050 went H3212 (8799) and lay down H7901 (8799) in his place H4725.
[10] And the LORD H3068 came H935 (8799), and stood H3320 (8691), and called H7121 (8799) as at other times H6471, Samuel H8050, Samuel H8050. Then Samuel H8050 answered H559 (8799), Speak H1696 (8761); for thy servant H5650 heareth H8085 (8802).
[11] And the LORD H3068 said H559 (8799) to Samuel H8050, Behold, I will do H6213 (8802) a thing H1697 in Israel H3478, at which both H8147 the ears H241 of every one that heareth H8085 (8802) it shall tingle H6750 (8799).
[12] In that day H3117 I will perform H6965 (8686) against Eli H5941 all [things] which I have spoken H1696 (8765) concerning H413 his house H1004: when I begin H2490 (8687), I will also make an end H3615 (8763).
[13] For I have told H5046 (8689) him that I will judge H8199 (8802) his house H1004 for H5704 ever H5769 for the iniquity H5771 which he knoweth H3045 (8804); because his sons H1121 made themselves vile H7043 (8764), and he restrained H3543 (8765) them not.
[14] And therefore I have sworn H7650 (8738) unto the house H1004 of Eli H5941, that the iniquity H5771 of Eli’s H5941 house H1004 shall not be purged H3722 (8691) with sacrifice H2077 nor offering H4503 for H5704 ever H5769.
[15] And Samuel H8050 lay H7901 (8799) until the morning H1242, and opened H6605 (8799) the doors H1817 of the house H1004 of the LORD H3068. And Samuel H8050 feared H3372 (8804) to shew H5046 (8687) Eli H5941 the vision H4759.
[16] Then Eli H5941 called H7121 (8799) Samuel H8050, and said H559 (8799), Samuel H8050, my son H1121. And he answered H559 (8799), Here [am] I.
[17] And he said H559 (8799), What [is] the thing H1697 that [the LORD] hath said H1696 (8765) unto thee? I pray thee hide H3582 (8762) [it] not from me: God H430 do so H6213 (8799) to thee, and more also H3254 (8686), if thou hide H3582 (8762) [any] thing H1697 from me of all the things H1697 that he said H1696 (8765) unto thee.
[18] And Samuel H8050 told H5046 (8686) him every whit H1697, and hid H3582 (8765) nothing from him. And he said H559 (8799), It [is] the LORD H3068: let him do H6213 (8799) what seemeth H5869 him good H2896.
[19] And Samuel H8050 grew H1431 (8799), and the LORD H3068 was with him, and did let none of his words H1697 fall H5307 (8689) to the ground H776.
[20] And all Israel H3478 from Dan H1835 even to Beersheba H884 knew H3045 (8799) that Samuel H8050 [was] established H539 (8737) [to be] a prophet H5030 of the LORD H3068.
[21] And the LORD H3068 appeared H7200 (8736) again H3254 (8686) in Shiloh H7887: for the LORD H3068 revealed H1540 (8738) himself to Samuel H8050 in Shiloh H7887 by the word H1697 of the LORD H3068.
Young’s Literal Translation
1 Samuel 3 (YLT)
[1] And the youth Samuel is serving Jehovah before Eli, and the word of Jehovah hath been precious in those days-there is no vision broken forth.
[2] And it cometh to pass, at that time, that Eli is lying down in his place, and his eyes have begun to be dim-he is not able to see.
[3] And the lamp of God is not yet extinguished, and Samuel is lying down in the temple of Jehovah, where the ark of God is,
[4] and Jehovah calleth unto Samuel, and he saith, ‘Here am I.’
[5] And he runneth unto Eli, and saith, ‘Here am I, for thou hast called for me;’ and he saith, ‘I called not; turn back, lie down;’ and he goeth and lieth down.
[6] And Jehovah addeth to call again Samuel, and Samuel riseth and goeth unto Eli, and saith, ‘Here am I, for thou hast called for me;’ and he saith, ‘I have not called, my son, turn back, lie down.’
[7] And Samuel hath not yet known Jehovah, and the word of Jehovah is not yet revealed unto him.
[8] And Jehovah addeth to call Samuel the third time, and he riseth and goeth unto Eli, and saith, ‘Here am I, for thou hast called for me;’ and Eli understandeth that Jehovah is calling to the youth.
[9] And Eli saith to Samuel, ‘Go, lie down, and it hath been, if He doth call unto thee, that thou hast said, Speak, Jehovah, for Thy servant is hearing;’ and Samuel goeth and lieth down in his place.
[10] And Jehovah cometh, and stationeth Himself, and calleth as time by time, ‘Samuel, Samuel;’ and Samuel saith, ‘Speak, for Thy servant if hearing.’
[11] And Jehovah saith unto Samuel, ‘Lo, I am doing a thing in Israel, at which the two ears of every one hearing it do tingle.
[12] In that day I establish unto Eli all that I have spoken unto his house, beginning and completing;
[13] and I have declared to him that I am judging his house-to the age, for the iniquity which he hath known, for his sons are making themselves vile, and he hath not restrained them,
[14] and therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli: the iniquity of the house of Eli is not atoned for, by sacrifice, and by offering-unto the age.’
[15] And Samuel lieth till the morning, and openeth the doors of the house of Jehovah, and Samuel is afraid of declaring the vision unto Eli.
[16] And Eli calleth Samuel, and saith, ‘Samuel, my son;’ and he saith, ‘Here am I.’
[17] And he saith, ‘What is the word which He hath spoken unto thee? I pray thee, hide it not from me; so doth God do to thee, and so doth He add, if thou hidest from me a word of all the words that He hath spoken unto thee.’
[18] And Samuel declareth to him the whole of the words, and hath not hid from him; and he saith, ‘It is Jehovah; that which is good in His eyes He doth.’
[19] And Samuel groweth up, and Jehovah hath been with him, and hath not let fall any of his words to the earth;
[20] and all Israel know, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, that Samuel is established for a prophet to Jehovah.
[21] And Jehovah addeth to appear in Shiloh, for Jehovah hath been revealed unto Samuel, in Shiloh, by the word of Jehovah.
