Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we live and meet with you is too small for us.

and make perfume there in all high places, like the nations that Jehovah removed from their presence, and do evil things to provoke Jehovah,

Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master this: ‘Yahweh says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

‘They will take away some of your sons who will issue from you, whom you will father; and they will be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”

He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

And he did H6213 (QalImpf) [that which was] evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the Lord, H3068 after the abominations H8441 of the heathen, H1471 whom the Lord H3068 cast out H3423 (HiphPerf) before H6440 the children H1121 of Israel. H3478

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

But they didn’t listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.

But they hearkened H8085 (QalPerf) not: and Manasseh H4519 seduced H8582 (HiphImpf) them to do H6213 (QalInf) more evil H7451 than did the nations H1471 whom the Lord H3068 destroyed H8045 (HiphPerf) before H6440 the children H1121 of Israel. H3478

And they have not hearkened, and Manasseh causeth them to err, to do the evil thing above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;

Because Manasseh H4519 king H4428 of Judah H3063 hath done H6213 (QalPerf) these abominations, H8441 [and] hath done wickedly H7489 (HiphPerf) above all that the Amorites H567 did, H6213 (QalPerf) which [were] before H6440 him, and hath made Judah H3063 also to sin H2398 (HiphImpf) with his idols: H1544

‘Because that Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations-he hath done evil above all that the Amorites have done who are before him, and causeth also Judah to sin by his idols;

because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’ ”

because that they have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, and are provoking Me to anger from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.’

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; in addition to his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.

Moreover Manasseh H4519 shed H8210 (QalPerf) innocent H5355 blood H1818 very H3966 much, H7235 (HiphInf) till he had filled H4390 (PielPerf) Jerusalem H3389 from one end H6310 to another; H6310 beside his sin H2403 wherewith he made Judah H3063 to sin, H2398 (HiphPerf) in doing H6213 (QalInf) [that which was] evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the Lord. And also, innocent blood hath Manasseh shed very much, till that he hath filled Jerusalem-mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he hath caused Judah to sin, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.

because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Yahweh when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,’ says Yahweh.

The king went up to Yahweh’s house, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him—with the priests, the prophets, and all the people, both small and great; and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in Yahweh’s house.

and the king goeth up to the house of Jehovah, and every man of Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, from small unto great, and he readeth in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that is found in the house of Jehovah.

The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky; and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

And the king commandeth Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out from the temple of Jehovah all the vessels that are made for Baal, and for the shrine, and for all the host of the heavens, and he burneth them at the outside of Jerusalem, in the fields of Kidron, and hath borne their ashes to Beth-El.

He brought out the Asherah from Yahweh’s house, outside of Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and beat it to dust, and cast its dust on the graves of the common people.

And he brought out H3318 (HiphImpf) the grove H842 from the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 without H2351 Jerusalem, H3389 unto the brook H5158 Kidron, H6939 and burned H8313 (QalImpf) it at the brook H5158 Kidron, H6939 and stamped [it] small H1854 (HiphImpf) to powder, H6083 and cast H7993 (HiphImpf) the powder H6083 thereof upon the graves H6913 of the children H1121 of the people. And he bringeth out the shrine from the house of Jehovah to the outside of Jerusalem, unto the brook Kidron, and burneth it at the brook Kidron, and beateth it small to dust, and casteth its dust on the grave of the sons of the people.

But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to work the vineyards and fields.

and of the poor of the land hath the chief of the executioners left for vine-dressers and for husbandmen.

All the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces arose and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.

and he spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez,° saying, “Because I bore him with sorrow.”

And Jabez is honoured above his brethren, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, ‘Because I have brought forth with grief.’

They found rich, good pasture, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceful, for those who lived there before were descended from Ham.

Shaharaim became the father of children in the field of Moab, after he had sent them away. Hushim and Baara were his wives.

Some of the sons of the priests prepared the mixing of the spices.

And some of the sons of the priests are mixing the mixture for spices.

Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.

And of the sons of the Kohathite, some of their brethren are over the bread of the arrangement, to prepare it sabbath by sabbath.

Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain on Mount Gilboa.

He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

He was with David H1732 at Pasdammim, H6450 and there the Philistines H6430 were gathered together H622 (NiphPerf) to battle, H4421 where was a parcel H2513 of ground H7704 full H4392 of barley; H8184 and the people H5971 fled H5127 (QalPerf) from before H6440 the Philistines. H6430

he hath been with David in Pas-Dammim, and the Philistines have been gathered there to battle, and a portion of the field is full of barley, and the people have fled from the face of the Philistines,

and said, “My God forbid me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

And said, H559 (QalImpf) My God H430 forbid H2486 it me, that I should do H6213 (QalInf) this thing: H2063 shall I drink H8354 (QalImpf) the blood H1818 of these men H582 that have put their lives in jeopardy? H5315 for with [the jeopardy of] their lives H5315 they brought H935 (HiphPerf) it. Therefore he would H14 (QalPerf) not drink H8354 (QalInf) it. These things did H6213 (QalPerf) these three H7969 mightiest. H1368

and saith, ‘Far be it from me, by my God, to do this; the blood of these men do I drink with their lives? for with their lives they have brought it;’ and he was not willing to drink it; these things did the three mighty ones.

Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn’t attain to the three; and David set him over his guard.

Behold, H2009 he was honourable H3513 (NiphPtc) among the thirty, H7970 but attained H935 (QalPerf) not to the [first] three: H7969 and David H1732 set H7760 (QalImpf) him over his guard. H4928

Of the thirty, lo, he is honoured, and unto the first three he hath not come, and David setteth him over his guard.

Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag while he was a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish. They were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

Now these [are] they that came H935 (QalActPtc) to David H1732 to Ziklag, H6860 while he yet kept himself close H6113 (QalPasPtc) because H6440 of Saul H7586 the son H1121 of Kish: H7027 and they [were] among the mighty men, H1368 helpers H5826 (QalActPtc) of the war. H4421

And these are those coming in unto David to Ziklag, while shut up because of Saul son of Kish, and they are among the mighty ones, helping the battle,

Some of the children of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold to David.

And there came H935 (QalImpf) of the children H1121 of Benjamin H1144 and Judah H3063 to the hold H4679 unto David. H1732

And there come of the sons of Benjamin and Judah unto the stronghold to David,

Some of Manasseh also joined David when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they didn’t help them, for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will desert to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”

And there fell H5307 (QalPerf) [some] of Manasseh H4519 to David, H1732 when he came H935 (QalInf) with the Philistines H6430 against Saul H7586 to battle: H4421 but they helped H5826 (QalPerf) them not: for the lords H5633 of the Philistines H6430 upon advisement H6098 sent H7971 (PielPerf) him away, saying, H559 (QalInf) He will fall H5307 (QalImpf) to his master H113 Saul H7586 to [the jeopardy of] our heads. H7218

And of Manasseh there have fallen unto David in his coming with the Philistines against Israel to battle-and they helped them not, for by counsel the princes of the Philistines sent him away, saying, ‘With our heads he doth fall unto his master Saul.’-

David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.

Therefore David H1732 enquired H7592 (QalImpf) again of God; H430 and God H430 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Go not up H5927 (QalImpf) after H310 them; turn away H5437 (HiphImpv) from them, and come H935 (QalPerf) upon them over against H4136 the mulberry trees. H1057

and David asketh again of God, and God saith to him, ‘Do not go up after them, turn round from them, and thou hast come to them from over-against the mulberries;

He gave to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.

And he dealt H2505 (PielImpf) to every one H376 of Israel, H3478 both man H376 and woman, H802 to every one H376 a loaf H3603 of bread, H3899 and a good piece of flesh, H829 and a flagon H809 [of wine].

and giveth a portion to every man of Israel, both man and woman: to each a cake of bread, and a measure of wine, and a grape-cake.
