και ουκ ηθελησεν σηων βασιλευς εσεβων παρελθειν ημας δι αυτου οτι εσκληρυνεν κυριος ο θεος ημων το πνευμα αυτου και κατισχυσεν την καρδιαν αυτου ινα παραδοθη εις τας χειρας σου ως εν τη ημερα ταυτη

Yahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”

Your eyes have seen what Yahweh did because of Baal Peor; for Yahweh your God has destroyed all the men who followed Baal Peor from among you.

οι οφθαλμοι υμων εωρακασιν παντα οσα εποιησεν κυριος ο θεος ημων τω βεελφεγωρ οτι πας ανθρωπος οστις επορευθη οπισω βεελφεγωρ εξετριψεν αυτον κυριος ο θεος υμων εξ υμων

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who shall hear all these statutes and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

και φυλαξεσθε και ποιησετε οτι αυτη η σοφια υμων και η συνεσις εναντιον παντων των εθνων οσοι εαν ακουσωσιν παντα τα δικαιωματα ταυτα και ερουσιν ιδου λαος σοφος και επιστημων το εθνος το μεγα τουτο

For what great nation is there that has a god so near to them as Yahweh our God is whenever we call on him?

For what nation H1471 is there so great, H1419 who hath God H430 so nigh H7138 unto them, as the Lord H3068 our God H430 is in all things that we call H7121 (QalInf) upon him for?

οτι ποιον εθνος μεγα ω εστιν αυτω θεος εγγιζων αυτοις ως κυριος ο θεος ημων εν πασιν οις εαν αυτον επικαλεσωμεθα

Be very careful, for you saw no kind of form on the day that Yahweh spoke to you in Horeb out of the middle of the fire,

but I must die in this land. I must not go over the Jordan, but you shall go over and possess that good land.

For Yahweh your God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.

When you father children and children’s children, and you have been long in the land, and then corrupt yourselves, and make a carved image in the form of anything, and do that which is evil in Yahweh your God’s sight to provoke him to anger,
