Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, “Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king, and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king.

So the king H4428 sent H7971 (QalImpf) Jehudi H3065 to fetch H3947 (QalInf) the roll: H4039 and he took H3947 (QalImpf) it out of Elishama H476 the scribe’s H5608 (QalActPtc) chamber. Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “Pray now to Yahweh our God for us.”

“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘You shall tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me: “Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, will return to Egypt into their own land.

then Zedekiah the king sent and had him brought out. The king asked him secretly in his house, “Is there any word from Yahweh?” Jeremiah said, “There is.” He also said, “You will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.”

^[44:17] και απεστειλεν σεδεκιας και εκαλεσεν αυτον και ηρωτα αυτον ο βασιλευς κρυφαιως ειπειν ει εστιν λογος παρα κυριου και ειπεν εστιν εις χειρας βασιλεως βαβυλωνος παραδοθηση

Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

^[45:11] και ελαβεν αβδεμελεχ τους ανθρωπους και εισηλθεν εις την οικιαν του βασιλεως την υπογειον και ελαβεν εκειθεν παλαια ρακη και παλαια σχοινια και ερριψεν αυτα προς ιερεμιαν εις τον λακκον

Then Zedekiah the king sent and took Jeremiah the prophet to himself into the third entry that is in Yahweh’s house. Then the king said to Jeremiah, “I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me.”

So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, Nebushazban, Rabsaris, and Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon

sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should bring him home. So he lived among the people.

^[46:14] και απεστειλαν και ελαβον τον ιερεμιαν εξ αυλης της φυλακης και εδωκαν αυτον προς τον γοδολιαν υιον αχικαμ υιου σαφαν και εξηγαγον αυτον και εκαθισεν εν μεσω του λαου

The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah who were carried away captive to Babylon.

^[47:1] ο λογος ο γενομενος παρα κυριου προς ιερεμιαν υστερον μετα το αποστειλαι αυτον ναβουζαρδαν τον αρχιμαγειρον τον εκ δαμαν εν τω λαβειν αυτον εν χειροπεδαις εν μεσω αποικιας ιουδα των ηγμενων εις βαβυλωνα

Now while he had not yet gone back, “Go back then,” he said, “to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

^[47:5] ει δε μη αποτρεχε και αναστρεψον προς γοδολιαν υιον αχικαμ υιου σαφαν ον κατεστησεν βασιλευς βαβυλωνος εν γη ιουδα και οικησον μετ αυτου εν μεσω του λαου εν γη ιουδα εις απαντα τα αγαθα εν οφθαλμοις σου του πορευθηναι πορευου και εδωκεν αυτω ο αρχιμαγειρος δωρα και απεστειλεν αυτον

and said to him, “Do you know that Baalis the king of the children of Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take your life?” But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam didn’t believe them.

And said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Dost thou certainly H3045 (QalInf) know H3045 (QalImpf) that Baalis H1185 the king H4428 of the Ammonites H1121 H5983 hath sent H7971 (QalPerf) Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah H5418 to slay H5221 (HiphInf) H5315 thee? But Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam H296 believed H539 (HiphPerf) them not.

^[47:14] και ειπαν αυτω ει γνωσει γινωσκεις οτι βελισα βασιλευς υιων αμμων απεστειλεν προς σε τον ισμαηλ παταξαι σου ψυχην και ουκ επιστευσεν αυτοις γοδολιας

Then they said to Jeremiah, “May Yahweh be a true and faithful witness among us, if we don’t do according to all the word with which Yahweh your God sends you to tell us.

Then they said H559 (QalPerf) to Jeremiah, H3414 The Lord H3068 be a true H571 and faithful H539 (NiphPtc) witness H5707 between us, if we do H6213 (QalImpf) not even according to all things H1697 for the which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 shall send H7971 (QalImpf) thee to us.

^[49:5] και αυτοι ειπαν τω ιερεμια εστω κυριος εν ημιν εις μαρτυρα δικαιον και πιστον ει μη κατα παντα τον λογον ον αν αποστειλη σε κυριος προς ημας ουτως ποιησομεν

Whether it is good, or whether it is bad, we will obey the voice of Yahweh our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of Yahweh our God.”

Whether [it be] good, H2896 or whether [it be] evil, H7451 we will obey H8085 (QalImpf) the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 our God, H430 to whom we H580 send H7971 (QalActPtc) thee; that it may be well H3190 (QalImpf) with us, when we obey H8085 (QalImpf) the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 our God. ^[49:6] και εαν αγαθον και εαν κακον την φωνην κυριου του θεου ημων ου ημεις αποστελλομεν σε προς αυτον ακουσομεθα ινα βελτιον ημιν γενηται οτι ακουσομεθα της φωνης κυριου του θεου ημων

and said to them, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your supplication before him, says:

And said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 the God H430 of Israel, H3478 unto whom ye sent H7971 (QalPerf) me to present H5307 (HiphInf) your supplication H8467 before H6440 him;

^[49:9] και ειπεν αυτοις ουτως ειπεν κυριος

For you have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for you sent me to Yahweh your God, saying, ‘Pray for us to Yahweh our God; and according to all that Yahweh our God says, so declare to us, and we will do it.’

For ye dissembled H8582 (HiphPerf) in your hearts, H5315 when ye sent H7971 (QalPerf) me unto the Lord H3068 your God, H430 saying, H559 (QalInf) Pray H6419 (HithImpv) for us unto the Lord H3068 our God; H430 and according unto all that the Lord H3068 our God H430 shall say, H559 (QalImpf) so declare H5046 (HiphImpv) unto us, and we will do H6213 (QalPerf) [it].

^[49:20] οτι επονηρευσασθε εν ψυχαις υμων αποστειλαντες με λεγοντες προσευξαι περι ημων προς κυριον και κατα παντα α εαν λαληση σοι κυριος ποιησομεν

I have declared it to you today; but you have not obeyed Yahweh your God’s voice in anything for which he has sent me to you.

And [now] I have this day H3117 declared H5046 (HiphImpf) [it] to you; but ye have not obeyed H8085 (QalPerf) the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 your God, H430 nor any [thing] for the which he hath sent H7971 (QalPerf) me unto you.

^[49:21] και ουκ ηκουσατε της φωνης κυριου ης απεστειλεν με προς υμας

When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of Yahweh their God, with which Yahweh their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

And it came to pass, [that] when Jeremiah H3414 had made an end H3615 (PielInf) of speaking H1696 (PielInf) unto all the people H5971 all the words H1697 of the Lord H3068 their God, H430 for which the Lord H3068 their God H430 had sent H7971 (QalPerf) him to them, [even] all these words, H1697

^[50:1] και εγενηθη ως επαυσατο ιερεμιας λεγων προς τον λαον παντας τους λογους κυριου ους απεστειλεν αυτον κυριος προς αυτους παντας τους λογους τουτους

then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, “You speak falsely. Yahweh our God has not sent you to say, ‘You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’

Then spake H559 (QalImpf) Azariah H5838 the son H1121 of Hoshaiah, H1955 and Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the proud H2086 men, H582 saying H559 (QalActPtc) unto Jeremiah, H3414 Thou speakest H1696 (PielPtc) falsely: H8267 the Lord H3068 our God H430 hath not sent H7971 (QalPerf) thee to say, H559 (QalInf) Go H935 (QalImpf) not into Egypt H4714 to sojourn H1481 (QalInf) there:

^[50:2] και ειπεν αζαριας υιος μαασαιου και ιωαναν υιος καρηε και παντες οι ανδρες οι ειπαντες τω ιερεμια λεγοντες ψευδη ουκ απεστειλεν σε κυριος προς ημας λεγων μη εισελθητε εις αιγυπτον οικειν εκει

Tell them, Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.

And say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel; H3478 Behold, I will send H7971 (QalActPtc) and take H3947 (QalPerf) Nebuchadrezzar H5019 the king H4428 of Babylon, H894 my servant, H5650 and will set H7760 (QalPerf) his throne H3678 upon H4605 these stones H68 that I have hid; H2934 (QalPerf) and he shall spread H5186 (QalPerf) his royal pavilion H8237 over them.

^[50:10] και ερεις ουτως ειπεν κυριος ιδου εγω αποστελλω και αξω ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεα βαβυλωνος και θησει αυτου τον θρονον επανω των λιθων τουτων ων κατεκρυψας και αρει τα οπλα αυτου επ αυτους

However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, “Oh, don’t do this abominable thing that I hate.”

Howbeit I sent H7971 (QalImpf) unto you all my servants H5650 the prophets, H5030 rising early H7925 (HiphInf) and sending H7971 (QalInf) [them], saying, H559 (QalInf) Oh, do H6213 (QalImpf) not this abominable H8441 thing H1697 that I hate. H8130 (QalPerf)

^[51:4] και απεστειλα προς υμας τους παιδας μου τους προφητας ορθρου και απεστειλα λεγων μη ποιησητε το πραγμα της μολυνσεως ταυτης ης εμισησα

Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.

Therefore, behold, the days H3117 come, H935 (QalActPtc) saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 that I will send H7971 (PielPerf) unto him wanderers, H6808 (QalActPtc) that shall cause him to wander, H6808 (PielPerf) and shall empty H7324 (HiphImpf) his vessels, H3627 and break H5310 (PielImpf) their bottles. ^[31:12] δια τουτο ιδου ημεραι ερχονται φησιν κυριος και αποστελω αυτω κλινοντας και κλινουσιν αυτον και τα σκευη αυτου λεπτυνουσιν και τα κερατα αυτου συγκοψουσιν

I have heard news from Yahweh, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, “Gather yourselves together! Come against her! Rise up to the battle!”

I have heard H8085 (QalPerf) a rumour H8052 from the Lord, H3068 and an ambassador H6735 is sent H7971 (QalPasPtc) unto the heathen, H1471 [saying], Gather ye together, H6908 (HithImpv) and come H935 (QalImpv) against her, and rise up H6965 (QalImpv) to the battle. H4421

^[30:8] ακοην ηκουσα παρα κυριου και αγγελους εις εθνη απεστειλεν συναχθητε και παραγενεσθε εις αυτην αναστητε εις πολεμον

I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life. I will bring evil on them, even my fierce anger,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.

^[27:33] ταδε λεγει κυριος καταδεδυναστευνται οι υιοι ισραηλ και οι υιοι ιουδα αμα παντες οι αιχμαλωτευσαντες αυτους κατεδυναστευσαν αυτους οτι ουκ ηθελησαν εξαποστειλαι αυτους

I will send to Babylon strangers, who will winnow her. They will empty her land; for in the day of trouble they will be against her all around.

^[28:2] και εξαποστελω εις βαβυλωνα υβριστας και καθυβρισουσιν αυτην και λυμανουνται την γην αυτης ουαι επι βαβυλωνα κυκλοθεν εν ημερα κακωσεως αυτης

“From on high has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them. He has spread a net for my feet. He has turned me back. He has made me desolate and I faint all day long.

εξ υψους αυτου απεστειλεν πυρ εν τοις οστεοις μου κατηγαγεν αυτο διεπετασεν δικτυον τοις ποσιν μου απεστρεψεν με εις τα οπισω εδωκεν με ηφανισμενην ολην την ημεραν οδυνωμενην

He said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day.

και ειδον και ιδου χειρ εκτεταμενη προς με και εν αυτη κεφαλις βιβλιου

For you are not sent to a people of a strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel—

For thou [art] not sent H7971 (QalPasPtc) to a people H5971 of a strange H6012 speech H8193 and of an hard H3515 language, H3956 [but] to the house H1004 of Israel; H3478

διοτι ου προς λαον βαθυχειλον και βαρυγλωσσον συ εξαποστελλη προς τον οικον του ισραηλ

not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words you can’t understand. Surely, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you.

Not to many H7227 people H5971 of a strange H6012 speech H8193 and of an hard H3515 language, H3956 whose words H1697 thou canst not understand. H8085 (QalImpf) Surely, had I sent H7971 (QalPerf) thee to them, they would have hearkened H8085 (QalImpf) unto thee.

ουδε προς λαους πολλους αλλοφωνους η αλλογλωσσους ουδε στιβαρους τη γλωσση οντας ων ουκ ακουση τους λογους αυτων και ει προς τοιουτους εξαπεστειλα σε ουτοι αν εισηκουσαν σου

when I send on them the evil arrows of famine that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. I will increase the famine on you and will break your staff of bread.

εν τω εξαποστειλαι με τας βολιδας μου του λιμου επ αυτους και εσονται εις εκλειψιν και συντριψω στηριγμα αρτου σου

I will send on you famine and evil animals, and they will bereave you. Pestilence and blood will pass through you. I will bring the sword on you. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.’ ”

και εξαποστελω επι σε λιμον και θηρια πονηρα και τιμωρησομαι σε και θανατος και αιμα διελευσονται επι σε και ρομφαιαν επαξω επι σε κυκλοθεν εγω κυριος λελαληκα

Now the end is on you, and I will send my anger on you, and will judge you according to your ways. I will bring on you all your abominations.

^[7:7] νυν το περας προς σε και αποστελω εγω επι σε και εκδικησω σε εν ταις οδοις σου και δωσω επι σε παντα τα βδελυγματα σου

και εξετεινεν ομοιωμα χειρος και ανελαβεν με της κορυφης μου και ανελαβεν με πνευμα ανα μεσον της γης και ανα μεσον του ουρανου και ηγαγεν με εις ιερουσαλημ εν ορασει θεου επι τα προθυρα της πυλης της εσωτερας της βλεπουσης προς βορραν ου ην η στηλη του κτωμενου

Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger. Behold, they put the branch to their nose.

They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, ‘Yahweh says;’ but Yahweh has not sent them. They have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.

βλεποντες ψευδη μαντευομενοι ματαια οι λεγοντες λεγει κυριος και κυριος ουκ απεσταλκεν αυτους και ηρξαντο του αναστησαι λογον

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I am against your magic bands, with which you hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms. I will let the souls fly free, even the souls whom you ensnare like birds.

“Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath on it in blood, to cut off from it man and animal—

For the Lord Yahweh says: “How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword, the famine, the evil animals, and the pestilence—to cut off from it man and animal!

It grew and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him. So it became a vine, produced branches, and shot out sprigs.

και ανετειλεν και εγενετο εις αμπελον ασθενουσαν και μικραν τω μεγεθει του επιφαινεσθαι αυτην τα κληματα αυτης επ αυτην και αι ριζαι αυτης υποκατω αυτης ησαν και εγενετο εις αμπελον και εποιησεν απωρυγας και εξετεινεν την αναδενδραδα αυτης

But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the covenant, and still escape?

και αποστησεται απ αυτου του εξαποστελλειν αγγελους εαυτου εις αιγυπτον του δουναι αυτω ιππους και λαον πολυν ει κατευθυνει ει διασωθησεται ο ποιων εναντια και παραβαινων διαθηκην ει σωθησεται

As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.

For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets. The wounded will fall within her, with the sword on her on every side. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.
