Then I spoke to the captives all the things that Yahweh had shown me.

and I speak unto the Removed all the matters of Jehovah that He hath shewed me.

“Son of man, you dwell in the middle of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don’t see, who have ears to hear, and don’t hear; for they are a rebellious house.

Son H1121 of man, H120 thou dwellest H3427 (QalActPtc) in the midst H8432 of a rebellious H4805 house, H1004 which have eyes H5869 to see, H7200 (QalInf) and see H7200 (QalPerf) not; they have ears H241 to hear, H8085 (QalInf) and hear H8085 (QalPerf) not: for they [are] a rebellious H4805 house. H1004

‘Son of man, in the midst of the rebellious house thou art dwelling, that have eyes to see, and they have not seen; ears they have to hear, and they have not heard; for a rebellious house are they.

“Therefore, you son of man, prepare your baggage for moving, and move by day in their sight. You shall move from your place to another place in their sight. It may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

Therefore, thou son H1121 of man, H120 prepare H6213 (QalImpv) thee stuff H3627 for removing, H1473 and remove H1540 (QalImpv) by day H3119 in their sight; H5869 and thou shalt remove H1540 (QalPerf) from thy place H4725 to another H312 place H4725 in their sight: H5869 it may be they will consider, H7200 (QalImpf) though they [be] a rebellious H4805 house. H1004

And thou, son of man, make to thee vessels of removal, and remove by day before their eyes, and thou hast removed from thy place unto another place before their eyes, it may be they consider, for a rebellious house they are.

In their sight you shall bear it on your shoulder, and carry it out in the dark. You shall cover your face, so that you don’t see the land, for I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel.”

In their sight H5869 shalt thou bear H5375 (QalImpf) [it] upon [thy] shoulders, H3802 [and] carry [it] forth H3318 (HiphImpf) in the twilight: H5939 thou shalt cover H3680 (PielImpf) thy face, H6440 that thou see H7200 (QalImpf) not the ground: H776 for I have set H5414 (QalPerf) thee [for] a sign H4159 unto the house H1004 of Israel. H3478

Before their eyes on the shoulder thou dost bear, in the darkness thou dost bring forth, thy face thou dost cover, and thou dost not see the earth, for a type I have given thee to the house of Israel.’

“ ‘The prince who is among them will bear his baggage on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.

And the prince H5387 that [is] among H8432 them shall bear H5375 (QalImpf) upon [his] shoulder H3802 in the twilight, H5939 and shall go forth: H3318 (QalImpf) they shall dig H2864 (QalImpf) through the wall H7023 to carry out H3318 (HiphInf) thereby: he shall cover H3680 (PielImpf) his face, H6440 that H3282 he see H7200 (QalImpf) not the ground H776 with [his] eyes. H5869

As to the prince who is in their midst, on the shoulder he beareth in the darkness, and he goeth forth, through the wall they dig to bring forth by it, his face he covereth, that he may not look on the very surface of the land.

I will also spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.

My net H7568 also will I spread H6566 (QalPerf) upon him, and he shall be taken H8610 (NiphPerf) in my snare: H4686 and I will bring H935 (HiphPerf) him to Babylon H894 [to] the land H776 of the Chaldeans; H3778 yet shall he not see H7200 (QalImpf) it, though he shall die H4191 (QalImpf) there.

And I have spread My net for him, and he hath been caught in My snare, and I have brought him in to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, and it he doth not see-and there doth he die.

The Lord Yahweh says, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Woe H1945 unto the foolish H5036 prophets, H5030 that follow H1980 (QalActPtc) H310 their own spirit, H7307 and have seen H7200 (QalPerf) nothing!

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the prophets who are foolish, Who are going after their own spirit, And they have seen nothing.

Haven’t you seen a false vision, and haven’t you spoken a lying divination, in that you say, ‘Yahweh says;’ but I have not spoken?”

Have ye not seen H2372 (QalPerf) a vain H7723 vision, H4236 and have ye not spoken H1696 (PielPerf) a lying H3577 divination, H4738 whereas ye say, H559 (QalActPtc) The Lord H3068 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) [it]; albeit I have not spoken? H559 (QalPerf)

A vain vision have ye not seen, And a lying divination spoken, When ye say: An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have not spoken?

“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who utter lying divinations. They will not be in the council of my people, neither will they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither will they enter into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”

And mine hand H3027 shall be upon the prophets H5030 that see H2374 vanity, H7723 and that divine H7080 (QalActPtc) lies: H3577 they shall not be in the assembly H5475 of my people, H5971 neither shall they be written H3789 (NiphImpf) in the writing H3791 of the house H1004 of Israel, H3478 neither shall they enter H935 (QalImpf) into the land H127 of Israel; H3478 and ye shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that I [am] the Lord H136 God. H3069

And My hand hath been on the prophets, Who are seeing vanity, and who are divining a lie, In the assembly of My people they are not, And in the writing of the house of Israel they are not written, And unto the ground of Israel they come not, And ye have known that I am the Lord Jehovah.

to wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace,’ ” says the Lord Yahweh.’ ”

[To wit], the prophets H5030 of Israel H3478 which prophesy H5012 (NiphPtc) concerning Jerusalem, H3389 and which see H2374 visions H2377 of peace H7965 for her, and [there is] no peace, H7965 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God. H3069

The prophets of Israel who are prophesying concerning Jerusalem, And who are seeing for her a vision of peace, And there is no peace, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

Therefore you shall no more see false visions nor practice divination. I will deliver my people out of your hand. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.’ ”

Therefore ye shall see H2372 (QalImpf) no more vanity, H7723 nor divine H7080 (QalImpf) divinations: H7081 for I will deliver H5337 (HiphPerf) my people H5971 out of your hand: H3027 and ye shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that I [am] the Lord. H3068

Therefore, vanity ye do not see, And divination ye do not divine again, And I have delivered My people out of your hand, And ye have known that I am Jehovah!’

Yet, behold, there will be left a remnant in it that will be carried out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they will come out to you, and you will see their way and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it.

Yet, behold, therein shall be left H3498 (NiphPerf) a remnant H6413 that shall be brought forth, H3318 (HophPtc) [both] sons H1121 and daughters: H1323 behold, they shall come forth H3318 (QalActPtc) unto you, and ye shall see H7200 (QalPerf) their way H1870 and their doings: H5949 and ye shall be comforted H5162 (NiphPerf) concerning the evil H7451 that I have brought H935 (HiphPerf) upon Jerusalem, H3389 [even] concerning all that I have brought H935 (HiphPerf) upon it.

yet, lo, there hath been left in it an escape, who are brought forth, sons and daughters, lo, they are coming forth unto you, and ye have seen their way, and their doings, and have been comforted concerning the evil that I have brought in against Jerusalem, all that which I have brought in against it.

They will comfort you, when you see their way and their doings; then you will know that I have not done all that I have done in it without cause,” says the Lord Yahweh.

And they shall comfort H5162 (PielPerf) you, when ye see H7200 (QalImpf) their ways H1870 and their doings: H5949 and ye shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that I have not done H6213 (QalPerf) without cause H2600 all that I have done H6213 (QalPerf) in it, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God. H3069

And they have comforted you, for ye see their way and their doings, and ye have known that not for nought have I done all that which I have done in her-an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.’

“ ‘ “When I passed by you, and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you, ‘Though you are in your blood, live!’ Yes, I said to you, ‘Though you are in your blood, live!’

And when I passed H5674 (QalImpf) by thee, and saw H7200 (QalImpf) thee polluted H947 (HiplPtc) in thine own blood, H1818 I said H559 (QalImpf) unto thee [when thou wast] in thy blood, H1818 Live; H2421 (QalImpv) yea, I said H559 (QalImpf) unto thee [when thou wast] in thy blood, H1818 Live. H2421 (QalImpv)

And I do pass over by thee, And I see thee trodden down in thy blood, And I say to thee in thy blood, Live, And I say to thee in thy blood, Live.

“ ‘ “Now when I passed by you, and looked at you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my garment over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I pledged myself to you and entered into a covenant with you,” says the Lord Yahweh, “and you became mine.

Now when I passed H5674 (QalImpf) by thee, and looked H7200 (QalImpf) upon thee, behold, thy time H6256 [was] the time H6256 of love; H1730 and I spread H6566 (QalImpf) my skirt H3671 over thee, and covered H3680 (PielImpf) thy nakedness: H6172 yea, I sware H7650 (NiphImpf) unto thee, and entered H935 (QalImpf) into a covenant H1285 with thee, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God, H3069 and thou becamest mine.

And I pass over by thee, and I see thee, And lo, thy time is a time of loves, And I spread My skirt over thee, And I cover thy nakedness, And I swear to thee, and come in to a covenant with thee, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, And thou dost become Mine.

therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those whom you have loved, with all those whom you have hated. I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

Behold, therefore I will gather H6908 (PielPtc) all thy lovers, H157 (PielPtc) with whom thou hast taken pleasure, H6149 (QalPerf) and all [them] that thou hast loved, H157 (QalPerf) with all [them] that thou hast hated; H8130 (QalPerf) I will even gather H6908 (PielPerf) them round about H5439 against thee, and will discover H1540 (PielPerf) thy nakedness H6172 unto them, that they may see H7200 (QalPerf) all thy nakedness. H6172

Therefore, lo, I am assembling all thy lovers, To whom thou hast been sweet, And all whom thou hast loved, Besides all whom thou hast hated; And I have assembled them by thee round about, And have revealed thy nakedness to them, And they have seen all thy nakedness.

They were arrogant and committed abomination before me. Therefore I took them away when I saw it.

And they were haughty, H1361 (QalImpf) and committed H6213 (QalImpf) abomination H8441 before H6440 me: therefore I took them away H5493 (HiphImpf) as I saw H7200 (QalPerf) [good].

And they are haughty and do abomination before Me, And I turn them aside when I have seen.

“Now, behold, if he fathers a son who sees all his father’s sins which he has done, and fears, and doesn’t do likewise,

Now, lo, [if] he beget H3205 (HiphPerf) a son, H1121 that seeth H7200 (QalImpf) all his father’s H1 sins H2403 which he hath done, H6213 (QalPerf) and considereth, H7200 (QalImpf) and doeth H6213 (QalImpf) not such like, H2004

And-lo, he hath begotten a son, And he seeth all the sins of his father, That he hath done, and he feareth, And doth not do like them,

Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live. He shall not die.

Because he considereth, H7200 (QalImpf) and turneth away H7725 (QalImpf) from all his transgressions H6588 that he hath committed, H6213 (QalPerf) he shall surely H2421 (QalInf) live, H2421 (QalImpf) he shall not die. H4191 (QalImpf)

And he seeth and turneth back, From all his transgressions that he hath done, He doth surely live, he doth not die,

“ ‘Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her cubs, and made him a young lion.

Now when she saw H7200 (QalImpf) that she had waited, H3176 (NiphPerf) [and] her hope H8615 was lost, H6 (QalPerf) then she took H3947 (QalImpf) another H259 of her whelps, H1482 [and] made H7760 (QalPerf) him a young lion. H3715

And she seeth, that stayed-perished hath her hope, And she taketh one of her whelps, A young lion she hath made it.

It had strong branches for the scepters of those who ruled. Their stature was exalted among the thick boughs. They were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.

And she had strong H5797 rods H4294 for the sceptres H7626 of them that bare rule, H4910 (QalActPtc) and her stature H6967 was exalted H1361 (QalImpf) among the thick branches, H5688 and she appeared H7200 (NiphImpf) in her height H1363 with the multitude H7230 of her branches. H1808

And it hath strong rods for sceptres of rulers, And high is its stature above thick branches, And it appeareth in its height In the multitude of its thin shoots.

For when I had brought them into the land which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There they also made their pleasant aroma, and there they poured out their drink offerings.

[For] when I had brought H935 (HiphImpf) them into the land, H776 [for] the which I lifted up H5375 (QalPerf) mine hand H3027 to give H5414 (QalInf) it to them, then they saw H7200 (QalImpf) every high H7311 (QalActPtc) hill, H1389 and all the thick H5687 trees, H6086 and they offered H2076 (QalImpf) there their sacrifices, H2077 and there they presented H5414 (QalImpf) the provocation H3708 of their offering: H7133 there also they made H7760 (QalImpf) their sweet H5207 savour, H7381 and poured out H5258 (HiphImpf) there their drink offerings. And I bring them in unto the land, That I did lift up My hand to give to them, And they see every high hill, and every thick tree, And they sacrifice there their sacrifices, And give there the provocation of their offering, And make there their sweet fragrance, And they pour out there their libations.

All flesh will see that I, Yahweh, have kindled it. It will not be quenched.” ’ ”

And all flesh H1320 shall see H7200 (QalPerf) that I the Lord H3068 have kindled H1197 (PielPerf) it: it shall not be quenched. H3518 (QalImpf)

And seen have all flesh, that I, Jehovah, have kindled it-it is not quenched.’

For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination. He shook the arrows back and forth. He consulted the teraphim.° He looked in the liver.

Ezekiel 21:21 teraphim were household idols that may have been associated with inheritance rights to the household property.

For the king H4428 of Babylon H894 stood H5975 (QalPerf) at the parting H517 of the way, H1870 at the head H7218 of the two H8147 ways, H1870 to use H7080 (QalInf) divination: H7081 he made [his] arrows H2671 bright, H7043 (PilpPerf) he consulted H7592 (QalPerf) with images, H8655 he looked H7200 (QalPerf) in the liver. H3516

For stood hath the king of Babylon at the head of the way, At the top of the two ways, to use divination, He hath moved lightly with the arrows, He hath asked at the teraphim, He hath looked on the liver.

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you have caused your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because you have come to memory, you will be taken with the hand.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Because ye have made your iniquity H5771 to be remembered, H2142 (HiphInf) in that your transgressions H6588 are discovered, H1540 (NiphInf) so that in all your doings H5949 your sins H2403 do appear; H7200 (NiphInf) because, [I say], that ye are come to remembrance, H2142 (NiphInf) ye shall be taken H8610 (NiphImpf) with the hand. H3709

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your causing your iniquity to be remembered, In your transgressions being revealed, For your sins being seen, in all your doings, Because of your being remembered, By the hand ye are caught.

“Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lusting than she, and in her prostitution which was more depraved than the prostitution of her sister.

And when her sister H269 Aholibah H172 saw H7200 (QalImpf) [this], she was more corrupt H7843 (HiphImpf) in her inordinate love H5691 than she, and in her whoredoms H8457 more than her sister H269 in [her] whoredoms. H2183

And see doth her sister Aholibah, And she maketh her doting love more corrupt than she, And her whoredoms than the whoredoms of her sister.

I saw that she was defiled. They both went the same way.

Then I saw H7200 (QalImpf) that she was defiled, H2930 (NiphPerf) [that] they [took] both H8147 one H259 way, H1870

And I see that she hath been defiled, One way is to them both.

“She increased her prostitution; for she saw men portrayed on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with red,

And she doth add unto her whoredoms, And she seeth graved men on the wall, Pictures of Chaldeans, graved with red lead,

Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I have laid you before kings, that they may see you.

Thine heart H3820 was lifted up H1361 (QalPerf) because of thy beauty, H3308 thou hast corrupted H7843 (PielPerf) thy wisdom H2451 by reason of H5921 thy brightness: H3314 I will cast H7993 (HiphPerf) thee to the ground, H776 I will lay H5414 (QalPerf) thee before H6440 kings, H4428 that they may behold H7200 (QalInf) thee.

High hath been thy heart, because of thy beauty, Thou hast corrupted thy wisdom because of thy brightness, On the earth I have cast thee, Before kings I have set thee, to look on thee,

By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your commerce, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought out a fire from the middle of you. It has devoured you. I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you.

Thou hast defiled H2490 (PielPerf) thy sanctuaries H4720 by the multitude H7230 of thine iniquities, H5771 by the iniquity H5766 of thy traffick; H7404 therefore will I bring forth H3318 (HiphImpf) a fire H784 from the midst H8432 of thee, it shall devour H398 (QalPerf) thee, and I will bring H5414 (QalImpf) thee to ashes H665 upon the earth H776 in the sight H5869 of all them that behold H7200 (QalActPtc) thee.

From the abundance of thy iniquity, By the perversity of thy traffic, Thou hast polluted thy sanctuaries, And I bring forth fire from thy midst, It hath devoured thee, And I make thee become ashes on the earth, Before the eyes of all beholding thee.

“Pharaoh will see them and will be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword,” says the Lord Yahweh.

Pharaoh H6547 shall see H7200 (QalImpf) them, and shall be comforted H5162 (NiphPerf) over all his multitude, H1995 [even] Pharaoh H6547 and all his army H2428 slain H2491 by the sword, H2719 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God. H3069

Then doth Pharaoh see, And he hath been comforted for all his multitude, The pierced of the sword-Pharaoh and all his force, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blows the trumpet and warns the people,

If when he seeth H7200 (QalPerf) the sword H2719 come H935 (QalActPtc) upon the land, H776 he blow H8628 (QalPerf) the trumpet, H7782 and warn H2094 (HiphPerf) the people; H5971

And he hath seen the sword coming against the land, And hath blown with a trumpet, and hath warned the people,

But if the watchman sees the sword come and doesn’t blow the trumpet, and the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’

And the watchman, when he seeth the sword coming in, And he hath not blown with a trumpet, And the people hath not been warned, And come in doth a sword, And taketh away of them-a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require.

I saw, and, behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

And when I beheld, H7200 (QalPerf) lo, the sinews H1517 and the flesh H1320 came up H5927 (QalPerf) upon them, and the skin H5785 covered H7159 (QalImpf) them above: H4605 but [there was] no breath H7307 in them.

And I beheld, and lo, on them are sinews, and flesh hath come up, and cover them doth skin over above-and spirit there is none in them.

Those who search through the land will pass through; and when anyone sees a man’s bone, then he will set up a sign by it, until the undertakers have buried it in the valley of Hamon Gog.

And the passengers H5674 (QalActPtc) [that] pass through H5674 (QalPerf) the land, H776 when [any] seeth H7200 (QalPerf) a man’s H120 bone, H6106 then shall he set up H1129 (QalPerf) a sign H6725 by H681 it, till the buriers H6912 (PielPtc) have buried H6912 (QalPerf) it in the valley H1516 of Hamongog. And those passing by have passed through the land, and seen a bone of man, and one hath constructed near it a sign till those burying have buried it in the valley of the multitude of Gog.

“I will set my glory among the nations. Then all the nations will see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them.

And I will set H5414 (QalPerf) my glory H3519 among the heathen, H1471 and all the heathen H1471 shall see H7200 (QalPerf) my judgment H4941 that I have executed, H6213 (QalPerf) and my hand H3027 that I have laid H7760 (QalPerf) upon them.

And I have given My honour among nations, And seen have all the nations My Judgment that I have done, And My hand that I have laid on them.

The man said to me, “Son of man, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I will show you; for you have been brought here so that I may show them to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”

And the man H376 said H1696 (PielImpf) unto me, Son H1121 of man, H120 behold H7200 (QalImpv) with thine eyes, H5869 and hear H8085 (QalImpv) with thine ears, H241 and set H7760 (QalImpv) thine heart H3820 upon all that I shall shew H7200 (HiphPtc) thee; for to the intent H4616 that I might shew H7200 (HiphInf) [them] unto thee [art] thou brought H935 (HophPerf) hither: declare H5046 (HiphImpv) all that thou seest H7200 (QalActPtc) to the house H1004 of Israel. and the man speaketh unto me: ‘Son of man, see with thine eyes, And with thine ears hear, And set thy heart to all that I am shewing thee, For, in order to shew it thee, Thou hast been brought in hither, Declare all that thou art seeing to the house of Israel.’

I saw also that the house had a raised base all around. The foundations of the side rooms were a full reed of six great cubits.

And I have looked at the house, the height all round about: the foundations of the side-chambers are the fulness of the reed, six cubits by the joining.

It was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

And according to the appearance is the appearance that I saw, as the appearance that I saw in my coming in to destroy the city, and the appearances are as the appearance that I saw at the river Chebar, and I fall on my face.

Then he brought me by the way of the north gate before the house; and I looked, and behold, Yahweh’s glory filled Yahweh’s house; so I fell on my face.

Then brought H935 (HiphImpf) he me the way H1870 of the north H6828 gate H8179 before H6440 the house: H1004 and I looked, H7200 (QalImpf) and, behold, the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 filled H4390 (QalPerf) the house H1004 of the Lord: H3068 and I fell H5307 (QalImpf) upon my face. H6440

And he bringeth me in the way of the north gate unto the front of the house, and I look, and lo, filled hath the honour of Jehovah the house of Jehovah, and I fall on my face.

Yahweh said to me, “Son of man, mark well, and see with your eyes, and hear with your ears all that I tell you concerning all the ordinances of Yahweh’s house and all its laws; and mark well the entrance of the house, with every exit of the sanctuary.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Son H1121 of man, H120 mark H7760 (QalImpv) well, H3820 and behold H7200 (QalImpv) with thine eyes, H5869 and hear H8085 (QalImpv) with thine ears H241 all that I say H1696 (PielPtc) unto thee concerning all the ordinances H2708 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and all the laws H8451 thereof; and mark H7760 (QalPerf) well H3820 the entering in H3996 of the house, H1004 with every going forth H4161 of the sanctuary. H4720

And Jehovah saith unto me, ‘Son of man, set thy heart, and see with thine eyes, and with thine ears hear, all that I am speaking with thee, of all the statutes of the house of Jehovah, and of all its laws; and thou hast set thy heart to the entrance of the house, with all the outlets of the sanctuary,

He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and caused me to return to the bank of the river.

And he said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Son H1121 of man, H120 hast thou seen H7200 (QalPerf) [this]? Then he brought H3212 (HiphImpf) me, and caused me to return H7725 (HiphImpf) to the brink H8193 of the river. H5158

And he saith unto me, ‘Hast thou seen, son of man?’ and he leadeth me, and bringeth me back unto the edge of the stream.

The prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink. For why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths who are of your own age? Then you would endanger my head with the king.”

And the prince H8269 of the eunuchs H5631 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Daniel, H1840 I fear H3373 my lord H113 the king, H4428 who hath appointed H4487 (PielPerf) your meat H3978 and your drink: H4960 for why should he see H7200 (QalImpf) your faces H6440 worse liking H2196 (QalActPtc) than the children H3206 which [are] of your sort? H1524 then shall ye make [me] endanger H2325 (PielPerf) my head H7218 to the king. H4428

and the chief of the eunuchs saith to Daniel, ‘I am fearing my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink, for why doth he see your faces sadder than those of the lads which are of your circle? then ye have made my head indebted to the king,’

Then let our faces be examined before you, and the face of the youths who eat of the king’s delicacies; and as you see, deal with your servants.”

Then let our countenances H4758 be looked upon H7200 (NiphImpf) before H6440 thee, and the countenance H4758 of the children H3206 that eat H398 (QalActPtc) of the portion H6598 of the king’s H4428 meat: H6598 and as thou seest, H7200 (QalImpf) deal H6213 (QalImpv) with thy servants. H5650

and our appearance is seen before thee, and the appearance of the lads who are eating the king’s portion of food, and as thou seest-deal with thy servants.’

At the end of ten days, their faces appeared fairer and they were fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate of the king’s delicacies.

And at the end H7117 of ten H6235 days H3117 their countenances H4758 appeared H7200 (NiphPerf) fairer H2896 and fatter H1277 in flesh H1320 than all the children H3206 which did eat H398 (QalActPtc) the portion H6598 of the king’s H4428 meat. H6598

and at the end of ten days their appearance hath appeared better and fatter in flesh then any of the lads who are eating the king’s portion of food.

but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.

and against the Lord of the heavens thou hast lifted up thyself; and the vessels of His house they have brought in before thee, and thou, and thy great men, thy wives, and thy concubines, are drinking wine with them, and gods of silver, and of gold, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone, that are not seeing, nor hearing, nor knowing, thou hast praised: and the God in whose hand is thy breath, and all thy ways, Him thou hast not honoured.

In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, even to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.

‘In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision hath appeared unto me-I Daniel-after that which had appeared unto me at the beginning.

I saw the vision. Now it was so, that when I saw, I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam. I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.

And I saw H7200 (QalImpf) in a vision; H2377 and it came to pass, when I saw, H7200 (QalInf) that I [was] at Shushan H7800 [in] the palace, H1002 which [is] in the province H4082 of Elam; H5867 and I saw H7200 (QalImpf) in a vision, H2377 and I was by the river H180 of Ulai. H195

And I see in a vision, and it cometh to pass, in my seeing, and I am in Shushan the palace that is in Elam the province, and I see in a vision, and I have been by the stream Ulai.

Then I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram which had two horns stood before the river. The two horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

Then I lifted up H5375 (QalImpf) mine eyes, H5869 and saw, H7200 (QalImpf) and, behold, there stood H5975 (QalActPtc) before H6440 the river H180 a H259 ram H352 which had [two] horns: H7161 and the [two] horns H7161 [were] high; H1364 but one H259 [was] higher H1364 than the other, H8145 and the higher H1364 came up H5927 (QalActPtc) last. And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a certain ram is standing before the stream, and it hath two horns, and the two horns are high; and the one is higher than the other, and the high one is coming up last.

I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward. No animals could stand before him. There wasn’t any who could deliver out of his hand, but he did according to his will, and magnified himself.

I saw H7200 (QalPerf) the ram H352 pushing H5055 (PielPtc) westward, H3220 and northward, H6828 and southward; H5045 so that no beasts H2416 might stand H5975 (QalImpf) before H6440 him, neither [was there any] that could deliver H5337 (HiphPtc) out of his hand; H3027 but he did H6213 (QalPerf) according to his will, H7522 and became great. I have seen the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward, and no living creatures do stand before it, and there is none delivering out of its hand, and it hath done according to its pleasure, and hath exerted itself.
