Therefore you shall keep the entire commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land that you go over to possess;

For the land, where you go in to possess isn’t like the land of Egypt that you came out of, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;

For the land, H776 whither thou goest in H935 (QalActPtc) to possess H3423 (QalInf) it, [is] not as the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 from whence ye came out, H3318 (QalPerf) where thou sowedst H2232 (QalImpf) thy seed, H2233 and wateredst H8248 (HiphPerf) [it] with thy foot, H7272 as a garden H1588 of herbs: H3419

‘For the land whither thou art going in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt whence ye have come out, where thou sowest thy seed, and hast watered with thy foot, as a garden of the green herb;

It shall happen, when Yahweh your God brings you into the land that you go to possess, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.

And it shall come to pass, when the Lord H3068 thy God H430 hath brought thee in H935 (HiphImpf) unto the land H776 whither thou goest H935 (QalActPtc) to possess H3423 (QalInf) it, that thou shalt put H5414 (QalPerf) the blessing H1293 upon mount H2022 Gerizim, H1630 and the curse H7045 upon mount H2022 Ebal. ‘And it hath been, when Jehovah thy God doth bring thee in unto the land whither thou art going in to possess it, that thou hast given the blessing on mount Gerizim, and the reviling on mount Ebal;

For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell in it.

But to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, you shall seek his habitation, and you shall come there.

but unto the place which Jehovah your God doth choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, to His tabernacle ye seek, and thou hast entered thither,

You shall bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, your vows, your free will offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock there.

And thither ye shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) your burnt offerings, H5930 and your sacrifices, H2077 and your tithes, H4643 and heave offerings H8641 of your hand, H3027 and your vows, H5088 and your freewill offerings, H5071 and the firstlings H1062 of your herds H1241 and of your flocks: H6629

and hast brought in thither your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your free-will offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock;

for you haven’t yet come to the rest and to the inheritance which Yahweh your God gives you.

For ye are not as yet come H935 (QalPerf) to the rest H4496 and to the inheritance, H5159 which the Lord H3068 your God H430 giveth H5414 (QalActPtc) you.

for ye have not come in hitherto unto the rest, and unto the inheritance, which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee;

then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.

‘And it hath been, the place on which Jehovah your God doth fix to cause His name to tabernacle there, thither ye bring in all that which I am commanding you, your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all the choice of your vows which ye vow to Jehovah;

Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take and go to the place which Yahweh shall choose.

When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations from before you where you go in to dispossess them, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land,

and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “Let’s go after other gods” (which you have not known) “and let’s serve them,”

The Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, as well as the foreigner living among you, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

except at the place which Jehovah thy God doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle-there thou dost sacrifice the passover in the evening, at the going in of the sun, the season of thy coming out of Egypt;

You shall come to the priests who are Levites and to the judge who shall be in those days. You shall inquire, and they shall give you the verdict.

And thou shalt come H935 (QalPerf) unto the priests H3548 the Levites, H3881 and unto the judge H8199 (QalActPtc) that shall be in those days, H3117 and enquire; H1875 (QalPerf) and they shall shew H5046 (HiphPerf) thee the sentence H1697 of judgment: H4941

and hast come in unto the priests, the Levites, and unto the judge who is in those days, and hast inquired, and they have declared to thee the word of judgment,

When you have come to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, “I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me,”

‘When thou comest in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, and hast possessed it, and dwelt in it, and thou hast said, Let me set over me a king like all the nations which are round about me,-

If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel where he lives, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose,

And if a Levite H3881 come H935 (QalImpf) from any H259 of thy gates H8179 out of all Israel, H3478 where he sojourned, H1481 (QalActPtc) and come H935 (QalPerf) with all the desire H185 of his mind H5315 unto the place H4725 which the Lord H3068 shall choose; H977 (QalImpf)

‘And when the Levite cometh from one of thy cities out of all Israel, where he hath sojourned, and hath come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah doth choose,

When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations.

When thou art come H935 (QalActPtc) into the land H776 which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 (QalActPtc) thee, thou shalt not learn H3925 (QalImpf) to do H6213 (QalInf) after the abominations H8441 of those nations. H1471

‘When thou art coming in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, thou dost not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations:

When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.

When a prophet H5030 speaketh H1696 (PielImpf) in the name H8034 of the Lord, H3068 if the thing H1697 follow not, nor come to pass, H935 (QalImpf) that [is] the thing H1697 which the Lord H3068 hath not spoken, H1696 (PielPerf) [but] the prophet H5030 hath spoken H1696 (PielPerf) it presumptuously: H2087 thou shalt not be afraid H1481 (QalImpf) of him.

that which the prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing is not, and cometh not-it is the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; in presumption hath the prophet spoken it;-thou art not afraid of him.

as when a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to chop wood and his hand swings the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and hits his neighbor so that he dies—he shall flee to one of these cities and live.

even he who cometh in with his neighbour into a forest to hew wood, and his hand hath driven with an axe to cut the tree, and the iron hath slipped from the wood, and hath met his neighbour, and he hath died-he doth flee unto one of these cities, and hath lived,

When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy its trees by wielding an ax against them; for you may eat of them. You shall not cut them down, for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged by you?

‘When thou layest siege unto a city many days, to fight against it, to capture it, thou dost not destroy its trees to force an axe against them, for of them thou dost eat, and them thou dost not cut down-for man’s is the tree of the field-to go in at thy presence in the siege.

then you shall bring her home to your house. She shall shave her head and trim her nails.

a bastard doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even a tenth generation of him doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah.

An Ammonite or a Moabite shall not enter into Yahweh’s assembly; even to the tenth generation shall no one belonging to them enter into Yahweh’s assembly forever,

An Ammonite H5984 or Moabite H4125 shall not enter H935 (QalImpf) into the congregation H6951 of the Lord; H3068 even to their tenth H6224 generation H1755 shall they not enter H935 (QalImpf) into the congregation H6951 of the Lord H3068 for H5704 ever: H5769

‘An Ammonite and a Moabite doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even a tenth generation of them doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah-to the age;

The children of the third generation who are born to them may enter into Yahweh’s assembly.

The children H1121 that are begotten H3205 (NiphImpf) of them shall enter H935 (QalImpf) into the congregation H6951 of the Lord H3068 in their third H7992 generation. H1755

sons who are begotten of them, a third generation of them, doth enter into the assembly of Jehovah.

If there is among you any man who is not clean by reason of that which happens to him by night, then shall he go outside of the camp. He shall not come within the camp;

You shall not bring the hire of a prostitute, or the wages of a male prostitute,^§ into the house of Yahweh your God for any vow; for both of these are an abomination to Yahweh your God.

You may charge a foreigner interest; but you shall not charge your brother interest, that Yahweh your God may bless you in all that you put your hand to, in the land where you go in to possess it.

To a stranger thou mayest lend in usury, and to thy brother thou dost not lend in usury, so that Jehovah thy God doth bless thee in every putting forth of thy hand on the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

When you come into your neighbor’s vineyard, then you may eat your fill of grapes at your own pleasure; but you shall not put any in your container.

When you come into your neighbor’s standing grain, then you may pluck the ears with your hand; but you shall not use a sickle on your neighbor’s standing grain.

When you lend your neighbor any kind of loan, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge.

‘When thou liftest up on thy brother a debt of anything, thou dost not go in unto his house to obtain his pledge;

You shall surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment and bless you. It shall be righteousness to you before Yahweh your God.

thou dost certainly give back to him the pledge at the going in of the sun, and he hath lain down in his own raiment, and hath blessed thee; and to thee it is righteousness before Jehovah thy God.

If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.

You shall come to the priest who shall be in those days, and tell him, “I profess today to Yahweh your God, that I have come to the land which Yahweh swore to our fathers to give us.”

And he hath brought H935 (HiphImpf) us into this place, H4725 and hath given H5414 (QalImpf) us this land, H776 [even] a land H776 that floweth H2100 (QalActPtc) with milk H2461 and honey. H1706

and he bringeth us in unto this place, and giveth to us this land-a land flowing with milk and honey.

Now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruit of the ground, which you, Yahweh, have given me.” You shall set it down before Yahweh your God, and worship before Yahweh your God.

And now, behold, I have brought H935 (HiphPerf) the firstfruits H6529 H7225 of the land, H127 which thou, O Lord, H3068 hast given H5414 (QalPerf) me. And thou shalt set H3240 (HiphPerf) it before H6440 the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 and worship H7812 (HithPerf) before H6440 the Lord H3068 thy God: H430

‘And now, lo, I have brought in the first of the fruits of the ground which thou hast given to me, O Jehovah;-and thou hast placed it before Jehovah thy God, and bowed thyself before Jehovah thy God,

You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over, that you may go in to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

And thou shalt write H3789 (QalPerf) upon them all the words H1697 of this law, H8451 when thou art passed over, H5674 (QalInf) that thou mayest go in H935 (QalImpf) unto the land H776 which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 (QalActPtc) thee, a land H776 that floweth H2100 (QalActPtc) with milk H2461 and honey; H1706 as the Lord H3068 God H430 of thy fathers H1 hath promised H1696 (PielPerf) thee.

and written on them all the words of this law in thy passing over, so that thou goest in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee-a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath spoken to thee.

All these blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, if you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice.

And all these blessings H1293 shall come H935 (QalPerf) on thee, and overtake H5381 (HiphPerf) thee, if thou shalt hearken H8085 (QalImpf) unto the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 thy God. H430

and all these blessings have come upon thee, and overtaken thee, because thou dost hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God:

You shall be blessed when you come in, and you shall be blessed when you go out.

Blessed H1288 (QalPasPtc) [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest in, H935 (QalInf) and blessed H1288 (QalPasPtc) [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest out. H3318 (QalInf)

‘Blessed art thou in thy coming in, and blessed art thou in thy going out.

But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come on you and overtake you.

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken H8085 (QalImpf) unto the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 to observe H8104 (QalInf) to do H6213 (QalInf) all his commandments H4687 and his statutes H2708 which I command H6680 (PielPtc) thee this day; H3117 that all these curses H7045 shall come H935 (QalPerf) upon thee, and overtake H5381 (HiphPerf) thee:

‘And it hath been, if thou dost not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God to observe to do all His commands, and His statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day, that all these revilings have come upon thee, and overtaken thee:

You will be cursed when you come in, and you will be cursed when you go out.

Cursed H779 (QalPasPtc) [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest in, H935 (QalInf) and cursed H779 (QalPasPtc) [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest out. H3318 (QalInf)

‘Cursed art thou in thy coming in, and cursed art thou in thy going out.

Yahweh will make the pestilence cling to you, until he has consumed you from off the land where you go in to possess it.

The Lord H3068 shall make the pestilence H1698 cleave H1692 (HiphImpf) unto thee, until he have consumed H3615 (PielInf) thee from off the land, H127 whither thou goest H935 (QalActPtc) to possess H3423 (QalInf) it.

‘Jehovah doth cause to cleave to thee the pestilence, till He consume thee from off the ground whither thou art going in to possess it.

All these curses will come on you, and will pursue you and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you didn’t listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded you.

Moreover all these curses H7045 shall come H935 (QalPerf) upon thee, and shall pursue H7291 (QalPerf) thee, and overtake H5381 (HiphPerf) thee, till thou be destroyed; H8045 (NiphInf) because thou hearkenedst H8085 (QalPerf) not unto the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 to keep H8104 (QalInf) his commandments H4687 and his statutes H2708 which he commanded H6680 (PielPerf) thee:

‘And come upon thee have all these curses, and they have pursued thee, and overtaken thee, till thou art destroyed, because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep His commands, and His statutes, which he hath commanded thee;

It will happen that as Yahweh rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Yahweh will rejoice over you to cause you to perish and to destroy you. You will be plucked from the land that you are going in to possess.

And it shall come to pass, [that] as the Lord H3068 rejoiced H7797 (QalPerf) over you to do you good, H3190 (HiphInf) and to multiply H7235 (HiphInf) you; so the Lord H3068 will rejoice H7797 (QalImpf) over you to destroy H6 (HiphInf) you, and to bring you to nought; H8045 (HiphInf) and ye shall be plucked H5255 (NiphPerf) from off the land H127 whither thou goest H935 (QalActPtc) to possess H3423 (QalInf) it.

‘And it hath been, as Jehovah hath rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so doth Jehovah rejoice over you to destroy you, and to lay you waste; and ye have been pulled away from off the ground whither thou art going in to possess it;
