και προσθησει το διασεσωσμενον οικου ιουδα το υπολειφθεν ριζαν κατω και ποιησει καρπον ανω

As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.

και εγενετο αυτου προσκυνουντος εν οικω νεσεραχ θεου αυτου και αδραμελεχ και σαρασαρ οι υιοι αυτου επαταξαν αυτον εν μαχαιρα και αυτοι εσωθησαν εις γην αραρατ και εβασιλευσεν ασορδαν ο υιος αυτου αντ αυτου

In those days Hezekiah was sick and dying. Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, “Yahweh says, ‘Set your house in order; for you will die, and not live.’ ”

εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις ηρρωστησεν εζεκιας εις θανατον και εισηλθεν προς αυτον ησαιας υιος αμως ο προφητης και ειπεν προς αυτον ταδε λεγει κυριος εντειλαι τω οικω σου οτι αποθνησκεις συ και ου ζηση

“Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘Yahweh, the God of David your father, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to Yahweh’s house.

επιστρεψον και ερεις προς εζεκιαν τον ηγουμενον του λαου μου ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος δαυιδ του πατρος σου ηκουσα της προσευχης σου ειδον τα δακρυα σου ιδου εγω ιασομαι σε τη ημερα τη τριτη αναβηση εις οικον κυριου

Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What will be the sign that Yahweh will heal me, and that I will go up to Yahweh’s house the third day?”

And Hezekiah H2396 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Isaiah, H3470 What [shall be] the sign H226 that the Lord H3068 will heal H7495 (QalImpf) me, and that I shall go up H5927 (QalPerf) into the house H1004 of the Lord H3068 the third H7992 day? H3117

και ειπεν εζεκιας προς ησαιαν τι το σημειον οτι ιασεται με κυριος και αναβησομαι εις οικον κυριου τη ημερα τη τριτη

Hezekiah listened to them, and showed them all the storehouse of his precious things—the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, or in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.

και εχαρη επ αυτοις εζεκιας και εδειξεν αυτοις ολον τον οικον του νεχωθα το αργυριον και το χρυσιον τα αρωματα και το ελαιον το αγαθον και τον οικον των σκευων και οσα ηυρεθη εν τοις θησαυροις αυτου ουκ ην λογος ον ουκ εδειξεν αυτοις εζεκιας εν τω οικω αυτου και εν παση τη εξουσια αυτου

He said, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”

και ειπεν τι ειδον εν τω οικω σου και ειπεν παντα οσα εν τω οικω μου ειδον ουκ ην εν τω οικω μου ο ουκ εδειξα αυτοις αλλα και τα εν τοις θησαυροις μου

‘Behold, the days come that all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store to this day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.

ιδου ημεραι ερχονται και λημφθησεται παντα τα εν τω οικω σου και οσα εθησαυρισαν οι πατερες σου εως της ημερας ταυτης εις βαβυλωνα και ουχ υπολειφθησεται ρημα ο ειπεν κυριος

He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.”

He set the engraved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which Yahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever;

και εκτενω επι ιερουσαλημ το μετρον σαμαρειας και το σταθμιον οικου αχααβ και απαλειψω την ιερουσαλημ καθως απαλειφεται ο αλαβαστρος απαλειφομενος και καταστρεφεται επι προσωπον αυτου

Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.

και εκοιμηθη μανασσης μετα των πατερων αυτου και εταφη εν τω κηπω του οικου αυτου εν κηπω οζα και εβασιλευσεν αμων υιος αυτου αντ αυτου

The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

και συνεστραφησαν οι παιδες αμων προς αυτον και εθανατωσαν τον βασιλεα εν τω οικω αυτου

In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to Yahweh’s house, saying,

και εγενηθη εν τω οκτωκαιδεκατω ετει τω βασιλει ιωσια εν τω μηνι τω ογδοω απεστειλεν ο βασιλευς τον σαφφαν υιον εσελιου υιου μεσολλαμ τον γραμματεα οικου κυριου λεγων

“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money which is brought into Yahweh’s house, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.

αναβηθι προς χελκιαν τον ιερεα τον μεγαν και σφραγισον το αργυριον το εισενεχθεν εν οικω κυριου ο συνηγαγον οι φυλασσοντες τον σταθμον παρα του λαου

Let them deliver it into the hand of the workers who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and let them give it to the workers who are in Yahweh’s house, to repair the damage to the house,

και δοτωσαν αυτο επι χειρα ποιουντων τα εργα των καθεσταμενων εν οικω κυριου και εδωκεν αυτο τοις ποιουσιν τα εργα τοις εν οικω κυριου του κατισχυσαι το βεδεκ του οικου

to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.

Unto carpenters, H2796 and builders, H1129 (QalActPtc) and masons, H1443 (QalActPtc) and to buy H7069 (QalInf) timber H6086 and hewn H4274 stone H68 to repair H2388 (PielInf) the house. H1004

τοις τεκτοσιν και τοις οικοδομοις και τοις τειχισταις και του κτησασθαι ξυλα και λιθους λατομητους του κραταιωσαι το βεδεκ του οικου

Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in Yahweh’s house.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

And Hilkiah H2518 the high H1419 priest H3548 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Shaphan H8227 the scribe, H5608 (QalActPtc) I have found H4672 (QalPerf) the book H5612 of the law H8451 in the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068 And Hilkiah H2518 gave H5414 (QalImpf) the book H5612 to Shaphan, H8227 and he read H7121 (QalImpf) it.

και ειπεν χελκιας ο ιερευς ο μεγας προς σαφφαν τον γραμματεα βιβλιον του νομου ευρον εν οικω κυριου και εδωκεν χελκιας το βιβλιον προς σαφφαν και ανεγνω αυτο

Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hands of the workmen who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house.”

And Shaphan H8227 the scribe H5608 (QalActPtc) came H935 (QalImpf) to the king, H4428 and brought H7725 the king H4428 word H1697 again, H7725 (HiphImpf) and said, H559 (QalImpf) Thy servants H5650 have gathered H5413 (HiphPerf) the money H3701 that was found H4672 (NiphPtc) in the house, H1004 and have delivered H5414 (QalImpf) it into the hand H3027 of them that do H6213 (QalActPtc) the work, H4399 that have the oversight H6485 (HophPtc) of the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068

και εισηνεγκεν προς τον βασιλεα ιωσιαν και επεστρεψεν τω βασιλει ρημα και ειπεν εχωνευσαν οι δουλοι σου το αργυριον το ευρεθεν εν τω οικω κυριου και εδωκαν αυτο επι χειρα ποιουντων τα εργα των καθεσταμενων εν οικω κυριου

The king went up to Yahweh’s house, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him—with the priests, the prophets, and all the people, both small and great; and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in Yahweh’s house.

He brought out the Asherah from Yahweh’s house, outside of Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and beat it to dust, and cast its dust on the graves of the common people.

και εξηνεγκεν το αλσος εξ οικου κυριου εξωθεν ιερουσαλημ εις τον χειμαρρουν κεδρων και κατεκαυσεν αυτον εν τω χειμαρρω κεδρων και ελεπτυνεν εις χουν και ερριψεν τον χουν αυτου εις τον ταφον των υιων του λαου

He broke down the houses of the male shrine prostitutes that were in Yahweh’s house, where the women wove hangings for the Asherah.

And he brake down H5422 (QalImpf) the houses H1004 of the sodomites, H6945 that [were] by the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 where the women H802 wove H707 (QalActPtc) hangings H1004 for the grove. H842

και καθειλεν τον οικον των καδησιμ των εν τω οικω κυριου ου αι γυναικες υφαινον εκει χεττιιν τω αλσει

He took away the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance of Yahweh’s house, by the room of Nathan Melech the officer who was in the court; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

και κατεπαυσεν τους ιππους ους εδωκαν βασιλεις ιουδα τω ηλιω εν τη εισοδω οικου κυριου εις το γαζοφυλακιον ναθαν βασιλεως του ευνουχου εν φαρουριμ και το αρμα του ηλιου κατεκαυσεν πυρι

The king broke down the altars that were on the roof of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of Yahweh’s house, and beat them down from there, and cast their dust into the brook Kidron.

And the altars H4196 that [were] on the top H1406 of the upper chamber H5944 of Ahaz, H271 which the kings H4428 of Judah H3063 had made, H6213 (QalPerf) and the altars H4196 which Manasseh H4519 had made H6213 (QalPerf) in the two H8147 courts H2691 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 did the king H4428 beat down, H5422 (QalPerf) and brake [them] down H7323 (QalImpf) from thence, and cast H7993 (HiphPerf) the dust H6083 of them into the brook H5158 Kidron. και τα θυσιαστηρια τα επι του δωματος του υπερωου αχαζ α εποιησαν βασιλεις ιουδα και τα θυσιαστηρια α εποιησεν μανασσης εν ταις δυσιν αυλαις οικου κυριου και καθειλεν ο βασιλευς και κατεσπασεν εκειθεν και ερριψεν τον χουν αυτων εις τον χειμαρρουν κεδρων

All the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Yahweh to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.

And all the houses H1004 also of the high places H1116 that [were] in the cities H5892 of Samaria, H8111 which the kings H4428 of Israel H3478 had made H6213 (QalPerf) to provoke [the Lord] to anger, H3707 (HiphInf) Josiah H2977 took away, H5493 (HiphPerf) and did H6213 (QalImpf) to them according to all the acts H4639 that he had done H6213 (QalPerf) in Bethel. και γε εις παντας τους οικους των υψηλων τους εν ταις πολεσιν σαμαρειας ους εποιησαν βασιλεις ισραηλ παροργιζειν κυριον απεστησεν ιωσιας και εποιησεν εν αυτοις παντα τα εργα α εποιησεν εν βαιθηλ

Moreover, Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim,° and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.

2 Kings 23:24 teraphim were household idols.

Moreover the [workers with] familiar spirits, H178 and the wizards, H3049 and the images, H8655 and the idols, H1544 and all the abominations H8251 that were spied H7200 (NiphPerf) in the land H776 of Judah H3063 and in Jerusalem, H3389 did Josiah H2977 put away, H1197 (PielPerf) that he might perform H6965 (HiphInf) the words H1697 of the law H8451 which were written H3789 (QalPasPtc) in the book H5612 that Hilkiah H2518 the priest H3548 found H4672 (QalPerf) in the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068

και γε τους θελητας και τους γνωριστας και τα θεραφιν και τα ειδωλα και παντα τα προσοχθισματα τα γεγονοτα εν γη ιουδα και εν ιερουσαλημ εξηρεν ο βασιλευς ιωσιας ινα στηση τους λογους του νομου τους γεγραμμενους επι του βιβλιου ου ευρεν χελκιας ο ιερευς εν οικω κυριου

Yahweh said, “I will also remove Judah out of my sight, as I have removed Israel; and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, ‘My name shall be there.’ ”

And the Lord H3068 said, H559 (QalImpf) I will remove H5493 (HiphImpf) Judah H3063 also out of my sight, H6440 as I have removed H5493 (HiphPerf) Israel, H3478 and will cast off H3988 (QalPerf) this city H5892 Jerusalem H3389 which I have chosen, H977 (QalPerf) and the house H1004 of which I said, H559 (QalPerf) My name H8034 shall be there.

και ειπεν κυριος και γε τον ιουδαν αποστησω απο του προσωπου μου καθως απεστησα τον ισραηλ και απωσομαι την πολιν ταυτην ην εξελεξαμην την ιερουσαλημ και τον οικον ου ειπον εσται το ονομα μου εκει

He carried out from there all the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

And he carried out H3318 (HiphImpf) thence all the treasures H214 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the treasures H214 of the king’s H4428 house, H1004 and cut in pieces H7112 (PielImpf) all the vessels H3627 of gold H2091 which Solomon H8010 king H4428 of Israel H3478 had made H6213 (QalPerf) in the temple H1964 of the Lord, H3068 as the Lord H3068 had said. H1696 (PielPerf)

και εξηνεγκεν εκειθεν παντας τους θησαυρους οικου κυριου και τους θησαυρους οικου του βασιλεως και συνεκοψεν παντα τα σκευη τα χρυσα α εποιησεν σαλωμων βασιλευς ισραηλ εν τω ναω κυριου κατα το ρημα κυριου

He burned Yahweh’s house, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He burned every great house with fire.

And he burnt H8313 (QalImpf) the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the king’s H4428 house, H1004 and all the houses H1004 of Jerusalem, H3389 and every great H1419 [man’s] house H1004 burnt H8313 (QalPerf) he with fire. H784

και ενεπρησεν τον οικον κυριου και τον οικον του βασιλεως και παντας τους οικους ιερουσαλημ και παν οικον ενεπρησεν

The Chaldeans broke up the pillars of bronze that were in Yahweh’s house and the bases and the bronze sea that were in Yahweh’s house, and carried the bronze pieces to Babylon.

And the pillars H5982 of brass H5178 that [were] in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the bases, H4350 and the brasen H5178 sea H3220 that [was] in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 did the Chaldees H3778 break in pieces, H7665 (PielPerf) and carried H5375 (QalImpf) the brass H5178 of them to Babylon. και τους στυλους τους χαλκους τους εν οικω κυριου και τας μεχωνωθ και την θαλασσαν την χαλκην την εν οικω κυριου συνετριψαν οι χαλδαιοι και ηραν τον χαλκον αυτων εις βαβυλωνα

The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases, which Solomon had made for Yahweh’s house, the bronze of all these vessels was not weighed.
