Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.

Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before Yahweh, which he had not commanded them.

And the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, take each his censer, and put in them fire, and put on it perfume, and bring near before Jehovah strange fire, which He hath not commanded them;

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what Yahweh spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’ ” Aaron held his peace.

And Moses saith unto Aaron, ‘It is that which Jehovah hath spoken, saying, By those drawing near to Me I am sanctified, and in the face of all the people I am honoured;’ and Aaron is silent.

Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Draw near, carry your brothers from before the sanctuary out of the camp.”

Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and, behold,^§ it was burned. He was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying,

Leviticus 10:16 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

Aaron spoke to Moses, “Behold, today they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before Yahweh; and such things as these have happened to me. If I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been pleasing in Yahweh’s sight?”

“Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

‘Speak unto Aaron, saying, No man of thy seed to their generations in whom there is blemish doth draw near to bring near the bread of his God,

No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a defect shall come near to offer the offerings of Yahweh made by fire. Since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.

‘No man in whom is blemish (of the seed of Aaron the priest) doth come nigh to bring near the fire-offerings of Jehovah; blemish is in him; the bread of his God he doth not come nigh to bring near.

So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.

“ ‘Whoever of the offspring of Aaron is a leper or has a discharge shall not eat of the holy things until he is clean. Whoever touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man who has a seminal emission,

“Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘Whoever is of the house of Israel, or of the foreigners in Israel, who offers his offering, whether it is any of their vows or any of their free will offerings, which they offer to Yahweh for a burnt offering:

Outside of the veil of the Testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.

Without H2351 the vail H6532 of the testimony, H5715 in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 shall Aaron H175 order H6186 (QalImpf) it from the evening H6153 unto the morning H1242 before H6440 the Lord H3068 continually: H8548 [it shall be] a statute H2708 for ever H5769 in your generations. at the outside of the vail of the testimony in the tent of meeting doth Aaron arrange it from evening till morning before Jehovah continually-a statute age-during to your generations;

It shall be for Aaron and his sons. They shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire by a perpetual statute.”

These are those who were counted, whom Moses and Aaron counted, and the twelve men who were princes of Israel, each one for his fathers’ house.

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.

these are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, whose hand he hath consecrated for acting as priest.

Nadab and Abihu died before Yahweh when they offered strange fire before Yahweh in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children. Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the presence of Aaron their father.

And Nadab dieth-Abihu also-before Jehovah, in their bringing near strange fire before Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai, and sons they had not; and Eleazar-Ithamar also-acteth as priest in the presence of Aaron their father.

“Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him.

You shall give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons. They are wholly given to him on the behalf of the children of Israel.

‘And Aaron and his sons thou dost appoint, and they have kept their priesthood, and the stranger who cometh near is put to death.’

Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be prince of the princes of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the requirements of the sanctuary.

And Eleazar H499 the son H1121 of Aaron H175 the priest H3548 [shall be] chief H5387 over the chief H5387 of the Levites, H3881 [and have] the oversight H6486 of them that keep H8104 (QalActPtc) the charge H4931 of the sanctuary. H6944

And to the prince of the princes of the Levites, Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, is the oversight of the keepers of the charge of the sanctuary.

Those who encamp before the tabernacle eastward, in front of the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, shall be Moses, with Aaron and his sons, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary for the duty of the children of Israel. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.

But those that encamp H2583 (QalActPtc) before H6440 the tabernacle H4908 toward the east, H6924 [even] before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 eastward, H4217 [shall be] Moses, H4872 and Aaron H175 and his sons, H1121 keeping H8104 (QalActPtc) the charge H4931 of the sanctuary H4720 for the charge H4931 of the children H1121 of Israel; H3478 and the stranger H2114 (QalPtc) that cometh nigh H7131 shall be put to death. H4191 (HophImpf)

And those encamping before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting, at the east, are Moses and Aaron, and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the sons of Israel, and the stranger who cometh near is put to death.

All who were counted of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron counted at the commandment of Yahweh, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

All that were numbered H6485 (QalPasPtc) of the Levites, H3881 which Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 numbered H6485 (QalPerf) at the commandment H6310 of the Lord, H3068 throughout their families, H4940 all the males H2145 from a month H2320 old H1121 and upward, H4605 [were] twenty H6242 and two H8147 thousand. H505

All those numbered of the Levites whom Moses numbered-Aaron also-by the command of Jehovah, by their families, every male from a son of a month and upward, are two and twenty thousand.
