οι δε υιοι ισραηλ ηυξηθησαν και επληθυνθησαν και χυδαιοι εγενοντο και κατισχυον σφοδρα σφοδρα επληθυνεν δε η γη αυτους

He said to his people, “Behold,^§ the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we.

Exodus 1:9 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

μετα δε τας ημερας τας πολλας εκεινας ετελευτησεν ο βασιλευς αιγυπτου και κατεστεναξαν οι υιοι ισραηλ απο των εργων και ανεβοησαν και ανεβη η βοη αυτων προς τον θεον απο των εργων

God saw the children of Israel, and God understood.

And God H430 looked H7200 (QalImpf) upon the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and God H430 had respect^§ H3045 (QalImpf) unto them.

Exodus 2:25 Heb. knew

και επειδεν ο θεος τους υιους ισραηλ και εγνωσθη αυτοις

Now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
