και αφοριει ααρων τους λευιτας αποδομα εναντι κυριου παρα των υιων ισραηλ και εσονται ωστε εργαζεσθαι τα εργα κυριου

You shall set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and offer them as a wave offering to Yahweh.

And thou shalt set H5975 (HiphPerf) the Levites H3881 before H6440 Aaron, H175 and before H6440 his sons, H1121 and offer H5130 (HiphPerf) them for an offering H8573 unto the Lord. H3068

και στησεις τους λευιτας εναντι κυριου και εναντι ααρων και εναντι των υιων αυτου και αποδωσεις αυτους αποδομα εναντι κυριου

The Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a wave offering before Yahweh and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.

And the Levites H3881 were purified, H2398 (HithImpf) and they washed H3526 (PielImpf) their clothes; H899 and Aaron H175 offered H5130 (HiphImpf) them as an offering H8573 before H6440 the Lord; H3068 and Aaron H175 made an atonement H3722 (PielImpf) for them to cleanse H2891 (PielInf) them.

και ηγνισαντο οι λευιται και επλυναντο τα ιματια και απεδωκεν αυτους ααρων αποδομα εναντι κυριου και εξιλασατο περι αυτων ααρων αφαγνισασθαι αυτους

After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aaron and before his sons: as Yahweh had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.

και μετα ταυτα εισηλθον οι λευιται λειτουργειν την λειτουργιαν αυτων εν τη σκηνη του μαρτυριου εναντι ααρων και εναντι των υιων αυτου καθως συνεταξεν κυριος τω μωυση περι των λευιτων ουτως εποιησαν αυτοις

There were certain men who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day.

και παρεγενοντο οι ανδρες οι ησαν ακαθαρτοι επι ψυχη ανθρωπου και ουκ ηδυναντο ποιησαι το πασχα εν τη ημερα εκεινη και προσηλθον εναντιον μωυση και ααρων εν εκεινη τη ημερα

When you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets. Then you will be remembered before Yahweh your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

εαν δε εξελθητε εις πολεμον εν τη γη υμων προς τους υπεναντιους τους ανθεστηκοτας υμιν και σημανειτε ταις σαλπιγξιν και αναμνησθησεσθε εναντι κυριου και διασωθησεσθε απο των εχθρων υμων

“Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God. I am Yahweh your God.”

και εν ταις ημεραις της ευφροσυνης υμων και εν ταις εορταις υμων και εν ταις νουμηνιαις υμων σαλπιειτε ταις σαλπιγξιν επι τοις ολοκαυτωμασιν και επι ταις θυσιαις των σωτηριων υμων και εσται υμιν αναμνησις εναντι του θεου υμων εγω κυριος ο θεος υμων

They set forward from the Mount of Yahweh three days’ journey. The ark of Yahweh’s covenant went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.

When the ark went forward, Moses said, “Rise up, Yahweh, and let your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate you flee before you!”

εως μηνος ημερων φαγεσθε εως αν εξελθη εκ των μυκτηρων υμων και εσται υμιν εις χολεραν οτι ηπειθησατε κυριω ος εστιν εν υμιν και εκλαυσατε εναντιον αυτου λεγοντες ινα τι ημιν εξελθειν εξ αιγυπτου

A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits° above the surface of the earth.

Numbers 11:31 A cubit is the length from the tip of the middle finger to the elbow on a man’s arm, or about 18 inches or 46 centimeters.

Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all the men who were on the surface of the earth.

Yahweh said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, shouldn’t she be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside of the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again.”

They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

και επεσεν μωυσης και ααρων επι προσωπον εναντιον πασης συναγωγης υιων ισραηλ

They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you Yahweh are among this people; for you Yahweh are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.

even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Yahweh.

και απεθανον οι ανθρωποι οι κατειπαντες κατα της γης πονηρα εν τη πληγη εναντι κυριου

Don’t go up, for Yahweh isn’t among you; that way you won’t be struck down before your enemies.

Go not up, H5927 (QalImpf) for the Lord H3068 is not among H7130 you; that ye be not smitten H5062 (NiphImpf) before H6440 your enemies. H341 (QalActPtc)

μη αναβαινετε ου γαρ εστιν κυριος μεθ υμων και πεσεισθε προ προσωπου των εχθρων υμων

For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you will fall by the sword because you turned back from following Yahweh; therefore Yahweh will not be with you.”

For the Amalekites H6003 and the Canaanites H3669 are there before H6440 you, and ye shall fall H5307 (QalPerf) by the sword: H2719 because ye are turned H7725 (QalPerf) away H310 from the Lord, H3068 therefore the Lord H3068 will not be with you.

οτι ο αμαληκ και ο χαναναιος εκει εμπροσθεν υμων και πεσεισθε μαχαιρα ου εινεκεν απεστραφητε απειθουντες κυριω και ουκ εσται κυριος εν υμιν

For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner, a statute forever throughout your generations. As you are, so the foreigner shall be before Yahweh.

One H259 ordinance H2708 shall be both for you of the congregation, H6951 and also for the stranger H1616 that sojourneth H1481 (QalActPtc) with you, an ordinance H2708 for ever H5769 in your generations: H1755 as ye are, so shall the stranger H1616 be before H6440 the Lord. H3068

νομος εις εσται υμιν και τοις προσηλυτοις τοις προσκειμενοις εν υμιν νομος αιωνιος εις γενεας υμων ως υμεις και ο προσηλυτος εσται εναντι κυριου

The priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and they shall be forgiven; for it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering made by fire to Yahweh, and their sin offering before Yahweh, for their error.

And the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for all the congregation H5712 of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) them; for it is ignorance: H7684 and they shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) their offering, H7133 a sacrifice made by fire H801 unto the Lord, H3068 and their sin offering H2403 before H6440 the Lord, H3068 for their ignorance: H7684

και εξιλασεται ο ιερευς περι πασης συναγωγης υιων ισραηλ και αφεθησεται αυτοις οτι ακουσιον εστιν και αυτοι ηνεγκαν το δωρον αυτων καρπωμα κυριω περι της αμαρτιας αυτων εναντι κυριου περι των ακουσιων αυτων

The priest shall make atonement for the soul who errs when he sins unwittingly before Yahweh. He shall make atonement for him; and he shall be forgiven.

And the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for the soul H5315 that sinneth ignorantly, H7683 (QalActPtc) when he sinneth H2398 (QalInf) by ignorance H7684 before H6440 the Lord, H3068 to make an atonement H3722 (PielInf) for him; and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him.

και εξιλασεται ο ιερευς περι της ψυχης της ακουσιασθεισης και αμαρτουσης ακουσιως εναντι κυριου εξιλασασθαι περι αυτου

They rose up before Moses, with some of the children of Israel, two hundred fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown.

και ανεστησαν εναντι μωυση και ανδρες των υιων ισραηλ πεντηκοντα και διακοσιοι αρχηγοι συναγωγης συγκλητοι βουλης και ανδρες ονομαστοι

When Moses heard it, he fell on his face.

And when Moses H4872 heard H8085 (QalImpf) it, he fell H5307 (QalImpf) upon his face: H6440

και ακουσας μωυσης επεσεν επι προσωπον

put fire in them, and put incense on them before Yahweh tomorrow. It shall be that the man whom Yahweh chooses, he shall be holy. You have gone too far, you sons of Levi!”

και επιθετε επ αυτα πυρ και επιθετε επ αυτα θυμιαμα εναντι κυριου αυριον και εσται ο ανηρ ον αν εκλεξηται κυριος ουτος αγιος ικανουσθω υμιν υιοι λευι

Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of Yahweh’s tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;

seemeth it but a small thing H4592 unto you, that the God H430 of Israel H3478 hath separated H914 (HiphPerf) you from the congregation H5712 of Israel, H3478 to bring you near H7126 (HiphInf) to himself to do H5647 (QalInf) the service H5656 of the tabernacle H4908 of the Lord, H3068 and to stand H5975 (QalInf) before H6440 the congregation H5712 to minister H8334 (PielInf) unto them?

μη μικρον εστιν τουτο υμιν οτι διεστειλεν ο θεος ισραηλ υμας εκ συναγωγης ισραηλ και προσηγαγετο υμας προς εαυτον λειτουργειν τας λειτουργιας της σκηνης κυριου και παριστασθαι εναντι της συναγωγης λατρευειν αυτοις

Moses said to Korah, “You and all your company go before Yahweh, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow.

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Korah, H7141 Be thou and all thy company H5712 before H6440 the Lord, H3068 thou, and they, and Aaron, H175 to morrow: H4279

και ειπεν μωυσης προς κορε αγιασον την συναγωγην σου και γινεσθε ετοιμοι εναντι κυριου συ και αυτοι και ααρων αυριον

Each man take his censer and put incense on it, and each man bring before Yahweh his censer, two hundred fifty censers; you also, and Aaron, each with his censer.”

and take H3947 (QalImpv) every man H376 his censer, H4289 and put H5414 (QalPerf) incense H7004 in them, and bring H7126 (HiphPerf) ye before H6440 the Lord H3068 every man H376 his censer, H4289 two hundred H3967 and fifty H2572 censers; H4289 thou also, and Aaron, H175 each H376 of you his censer. και λαβετε εκαστος το πυρειον αυτου και επιθησετε επ αυτα θυμιαμα και προσαξετε εναντι κυριου εκαστος το πυρειον αυτου πεντηκοντα και διακοσια πυρεια και συ και ααρων εκαστος το πυρειον αυτου

They fell on their faces, and said, “God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”

And they fell H5307 (QalImpf) upon their faces, H6440 and said, H559 (QalImpf) O God, H410 the God H430 of the spirits H7307 of all flesh, H1320 shall one H259 man H376 sin, H2398 (QalImpf) and wilt thou be wroth H7107 (QalImpf) with all the congregation? H5712

και επεσαν επι προσωπον αυτων και ειπαν θεος θεος των πνευματων και πασης σαρκος ει ανθρωπος εις ημαρτεν επι πασαν την συναγωγην οργη κυριου

even the censers of those who sinned against their own lives. Let them be beaten into plates for a covering of the altar, for they offered them before Yahweh. Therefore they are holy. They shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”

The censers H4289 of these sinners H2400 against their own souls, H5315 let them make H6213 (QalPerf) them broad H7555 plates H6341 for a covering H6826 of the altar: H4196 for they offered H7126 (HiphPerf) them before H6440 the Lord, H3068 therefore they are hallowed: H6942 (QalImpf) and they shall be a sign H226 unto the children H1121 of Israel. ^[17:3] τα πυρεια των αμαρτωλων τουτων εν ταις ψυχαις αυτων και ποιησον αυτα λεπιδας ελατας περιθεμα τω θυσιαστηριω οτι προσηνεχθησαν εναντι κυριου και ηγιασθησαν και εγενοντο εις σημειον τοις υιοις ισραηλ

to be a memorial to the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger who isn’t of the offspring of Aaron, would come near to burn incense before Yahweh, that he not be as Korah and as his company; as Yahweh spoke to him by Moses.

^[17:5] μνημοσυνον τοις υιοις ισραηλ οπως αν μη προσελθη μηθεις αλλογενης ος ουκ εστιν εκ του σπερματος ααρων επιθειναι θυμιαμα εναντι κυριου και ουκ εσται ωσπερ κορε και η επισυστασις αυτου καθα ελαλησεν κυριος εν χειρι μωυση

Moses and Aaron came to the front of the Tent of Meeting.

And Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 came H935 (QalImpf) before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation. H4150

^[17:8] και εισηλθεν μωυσης και ααρων κατα προσωπον της σκηνης του μαρτυριου

“Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!” They fell on their faces.

Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from Yahweh! The plague has begun.”

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Aaron, H175 Take H3947 (QalImpv) a censer, H4289 and put H5414 (QalImpv) fire H784 therein from off H6440 the altar, H4196 and put H7760 (QalImpv) on incense, H7004 and go H3212 (HiphImpv) quickly H4120 unto the congregation, H5712 and make an atonement H3722 (PielImpv) for them: for there is wrath H7110 gone out H3318 (QalPerf) from the Lord; H3068 the plague H5063 is begun. ^[17:11] και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων λαβε το πυρειον και επιθες επ αυτο πυρ απο του θυσιαστηριου και επιβαλε επ αυτο θυμιαμα και απενεγκε το ταχος εις την παρεμβολην και εξιλασαι περι αυτων εξηλθεν γαρ οργη απο προσωπου κυριου ηρκται θραυειν τον λαον

You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the covenant, where I meet with you.

And thou shalt lay them up H3240 (HiphPerf) in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 before H6440 the testimony, H5715 where I will meet H3259 (NiphImpf) with you.

Moses laid up the rods before Yahweh in the Tent of the Testimony.

And Moses H4872 laid up H3240 (HiphImpf) the rods H4294 before H6440 the Lord H3068 in the tabernacle H168 of witness. H5715

^[17:22] και απεθηκεν μωυσης τας ραβδους εναντι κυριου εν τη σκηνη του μαρτυριου

Moses brought out all the rods from before Yahweh to all the children of Israel. They looked, and each man took his rod.

And Moses H4872 brought out H3318 (HiphImpf) all the rods H4294 from before H6440 the Lord H3068 unto all the children H1121 of Israel: H3478 and they looked, H7200 (QalImpf) and took H3947 (QalImpf) every man H376 his rod. H4294

^[17:24] και εξηνεγκεν μωυσης πασας τας ραβδους απο προσωπου κυριου προς παντας υιους ισραηλ και ειδον και ελαβον εκαστος την ραβδον αυτου

Yahweh said to Moses, “Put back the rod of Aaron before the covenant, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their complaining against me, that they not die.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Bring H7725 Aaron’s H175 rod H4294 again H7725 (HiphImpv) before H6440 the testimony, H5715 to be kept H4931 for a token H226 against the rebels;^§ H4805 H1121 and thou shalt quite take away H3615 (PielImpf) their murmurings H8519 from me, that they die H4191 (QalImpf) not.

Bring your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, near with you, that they may be joined to you, and minister to you; but you and your sons with you shall be before the Tent of the Testimony.

All the wave offerings of the holy things which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, I have given you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your offspring with you.”

παν αφαιρεμα των αγιων οσα αν αφελωσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ κυριω σοι δεδωκα και τοις υιοις σου και ταις θυγατρασιν σου μετα σου νομιμον αιωνιον διαθηκη αλος αιωνιου εστιν εναντι κυριου σοι και τω σπερματι σου μετα σε

You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face.

Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.

και λημψεται ελεαζαρ απο του αιματος αυτης και ρανει απεναντι του προσωπου της σκηνης του μαρτυριου απο του αιματος αυτης επτακις

“Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

And whosoever toucheth H5060 (QalImpf) one that is slain H2491 with a sword H2719 in the open H6440 fields, H7704 or a dead body, H4191 (QalPtc) or a bone H6106 of a man, H120 or a grave, H6913 shall be unclean H2930 (QalImpf) seven H7651 days. H3117

και πας ος εαν αψηται επι προσωπου του πεδιου τραυματιου η νεκρου η οστεου ανθρωπινου η μνηματος επτα ημερας ακαθαρτος εσται

The people quarreled with Moses, and spoke, saying, “We wish that we had died when our brothers died before Yahweh!

And the people H5971 chode H7378 (QalImpf) with Moses, H4872 and spake, H559 (QalImpf) saying, H559 (QalInf) Would God that H3863 we had died H1478 (QalPerf) when our brethren H251 died H1478 (QalInf) before H6440 the Lord! H3068

και ελοιδορειτο ο λαος προς μωυσην λεγοντες οφελον απεθανομεν εν τη απωλεια των αδελφων ημων εναντι κυριου

Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and fell on their faces. Yahweh’s glory appeared to them.

And Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 went H935 (QalImpf) from the presence H6440 of the assembly H6951 unto the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 and they fell H5307 (QalImpf) upon their faces: H6440 and the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 appeared H7200 (NiphImpf) unto them.

και ηλθεν μωυσης και ααρων απο προσωπου της συναγωγης επι την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου και επεσαν επι προσωπον και ωφθη η δοξα κυριου προς αυτους

Moses took the rod from before Yahweh, as he commanded him.

And Moses H4872 took H3947 (QalImpf) the rod H4294 from before H6440 the Lord, H3068 as he commanded H6680 (PielPerf) him.

και ελαβεν μωυσης την ραβδον την απεναντι κυριου καθα συνεταξεν κυριος

Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Shall we bring water out of this rock for you?”

και εξεκκλησιασεν μωυσης και ααρων την συναγωγην απεναντι της πετρας και ειπεν προς αυτους ακουσατε μου οι απειθεις μη εκ της πετρας ταυτης εξαξομεν υμιν υδωρ

They traveled from Oboth, and encamped at Iyeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrise.
