They covet fields and seize them, and houses, then take them away. They oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies, saying, “I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink,” he would be the prophet of this people.

If one is going with the wind, And with falsehood hath lied: ‘I prophesy to thee of wine, and of strong drink,’ He hath been the prophet of this people!

But every man will sit under his vine and under his fig tree. No one will make them afraid, for the mouth of Yahweh of Armies has spoken.

Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.

For all the peoples do walk, Each in the name of its god-and we, We do walk in the name of Jehovah our God, To the age and for ever.

The remnant of Jacob will be among many peoples like dew from Yahweh, like showers on the grass, that don’t wait for man nor wait for the sons of men.

And the remnant H7611 of Jacob H3290 shall be in the midst H7130 of many H7227 people H5971 as a dew H2919 from the Lord, H3068 as the showers H7241 upon the grass, H6212 that tarrieth H6960 (PielImpf) not for man, H376 nor waiteth H3176 (PielImpf) for the sons H1121 of men. H120

And the remnant of Jacob hath been in the midst of many peoples, As dew from Jehovah-as showers on the herb, That waiteth not for man, nor stayeth for the sons of men.

Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short ephah° that is accursed?

The godly man has perished out of the earth, and there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net.

Perished hath the kind out of the land, And upright among men-there are none, All of them for blood lie in wait, Each his brother they hunt with a net.

For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

Yahweh will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.

Fearful is Jehovah against them, For He made bare all gods of the land, And bow themselves to Him, each from his place, Do all islanders of the nations.

Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.

Her prophets unstable-men of treachery, Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, They have violated the law.

I have cut off nations. Their battlements are desolate. I have made their streets waste, so that no one passes by. Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.

“You looked for much, and, behold,^§ it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says Yahweh of Armies, “Because of my house that lies waste, while each of you is busy with his own house.

I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them. The horses and their riders will come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.

“I had a vision in the night, and behold,^§ a man riding on a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in a ravine; and behind him there were red, brown, and white horses.

Then I asked, “What are these coming to do?” He said, “These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”

I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

The people of Bethel sent Sharezer and Regem Melech and their men to entreat Yahweh’s favor,

And Beth-El sendeth Sherezer and Regem-Melech, and its men, to appease the face of Jehovah,

“Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying, ‘Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.

‘Thus spake Jehovah of Hosts, saying: True judgment judge ye, And kindness and mercy do one with another.

Don’t oppress the widow, the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.’

And widow, and fatherless, Sojourner, and poor, ye do not oppress, And the calamity of one another ye do not devise in your heart.

Yahweh of Armies says: “Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand because of their old age.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 There shall yet old men H2205 and old women H2205 dwell H3427 (QalImpf) in the streets H7339 of Jerusalem, H3389 and every man H376 with his staff H4938 in his hand H3027 for very H7230 age. H3117

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again dwell do old men and old women, In broad places of Jerusalem, And each his staff in his hand, Because of abundance of days.

For before those days there was no wages for man nor any wages for an animal, neither was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all men everyone against his neighbor.

For before H6440 these days H3117 there was H1961 (NiphPerf) no hire H7939 for man, H120 nor any hire H7939 for beast; H929 neither [was there any] peace H7965 to him that went out H3318 (QalActPtc) or came in H935 (QalActPtc) because of the affliction: H6862 for I set H7971 (PielImpf) all men H120 every one H376 against his neighbour. H7453

For, before those days there hath been no hiring of man, Yea, a hiring of beasts there is none; And to him who is going out, And to him who is coming in, There is no peace because of the adversary, And I send all men-each against his neighbour.

These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates,

These [are] the things H1697 that ye shall do; H6213 (QalImpf) Speak H1696 (PielImpv) ye every man H376 the truth H571 to his neighbour; H7453 execute H8199 (QalImpv) the judgment H4941 of truth H571 and peace H7965 in your gates: H8179

These are the things that ye do: Speak ye truth each with his neighbour, Truth and peaceful judgment judge in your gates,

and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate,” says Yahweh.

And each the evil of his neighbour ye do not devise in your heart, And a false oath ye do not love, For all these are things that I have hated, An affirmation of Jehovah.’

Yahweh of Armies says: “In those days, ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, ‘We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’ ”

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 In those days H3117 [it shall come to pass], that ten H6235 men H582 shall take hold H2388 (HiphImpf) out of all languages H3956 of the nations, H1471 even shall take hold H2388 (HiphPerf) of the skirt H3671 of him that is a Jew, H376 H3064 saying, H559 (QalInf) We will go H3212 (QalImpf) with you: for we have heard H8085 (QalPerf) [that] God H430 [is] with you.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: In those days take hold do ten men of all languages of the nations, Yea, they have taken hold on the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying: We go with you, for we heard God is with you!

Ask of Yahweh rain in the spring time, Yahweh who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.

Ask H7592 (QalImpv) ye of the Lord H3068 rain H4306 in the time H6256 of the latter rain; H4456 [so] the Lord H3068 shall make H6213 (QalActPtc) bright clouds, H2385 and give H5414 (QalImpf) them showers H1653 of rain, H4306 to every one H376 grass H6212 in the field. H7704

They asked of Jehovah rain in a time of latter rain, Jehovah is making lightnings, And rain in showers He doth give to them. To each-the herb in the field.

For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land,” says Yahweh; “but, behold, I will deliver every one of the men into his neighbor’s hand and into the hand of his king. They will strike the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.”

It will happen that when anyone still prophesies, then his father and his mother who bore him will tell him, ‘You must die, because you speak lies in Yahweh’s name;’ and his father and his mother who bore him will stab him when he prophesies.

And it hath been, when one prophesieth again, That said unto him have his father and his mother, his parents, ‘Thou dost not live, For falsehood thou hast spoken in the name of Jehovah,’ And pierced him through have his father and his mother, his parents, in his prophesying.

It will happen in that day that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they won’t wear a hairy mantle to deceive,

And it hath come to pass, in that day, Ashamed are the prophets, each of his vision, in his prophesying, And they put not on a hairy robe to deceive.

but he will say, ‘I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for I have been made a bondservant from my youth.’

But he shall say, H559 (QalPerf) I [am] no prophet, H5030 I [am] an husbandman; H376 H5647 (QalActPtc) H127 for man H120 taught me to keep cattle H7069 (HiphPerf) from my youth. H5271

And one hath said, ‘I am not a prophet, A man, a tiller of ground I am, For ground is my possession from my youth.’

It will happen in that day that a great panic from Yahweh will be among them; and they will each seize the hand of his neighbor, and his hand will rise up against the hand of his neighbor.

And it shall come to pass in that day, H3117 [that] a great H7227 tumult H4103 from the Lord H3068 shall be among them; and they shall lay hold H2388 (HiphPerf) every one H376 on the hand H3027 of his neighbour, H7453 and his hand H3027 shall rise up H5927 (QalPerf) against the hand H3027 of his neighbour. And it hath come to pass, in that day, A great destruction from Jehovah is among them, And they have seized each the hand of his neighbour, And gone up hath his hand against the hand of his neighbour.

Don’t we all have one father? Hasn’t one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

Have we not all one H259 father? H1 hath not one H259 God H410 created H1254 (QalPerf) us? why do we deal treacherously H898 (QalImpf) every man H376 against his brother, H251 by profaning H2490 (PielInf) the covenant H1285 of our fathers? H1

Have we not all one father? Hath not our God prepared us? Wherefore do we deal treacherously, Each against his brother, To pollute the covenant of our fathers?

Yahweh will cut off the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob and him who offers an offering to Yahweh of Armies.

The Lord H3068 will cut off H3772 (HiphImpf) the man H376 that doeth H6213 (QalImpf) this, the master H5782 (QalActPtc) and the scholar, H6030 (QalActPtc) out of the tabernacles H168 of Jacob, H3290 and him that offereth H5066 (HiphPtc) an offering H4503 unto the Lord H3068 of hosts. H6635

Then have those fearing Jehovah spoken one to another, And Jehovah doth attend and hear, And written is a book of memorial before Him Of those fearing Jehovah, And of those esteeming His name.
